Convenient location, food was unfortunately cold, rice was hard seemed like it was sitting under the heating lamp for a long time, green bean chicken was not hot either. Their salt and pepper fish was very good, but again the entire plate was cold and not worth the money. This place is more like a take out chinese food place. Not too many seating available. Their food actually taste pretty good. It's reasonable in price and they give you huge portions. They have a spicy chicken dishes that no other place have. That's why we keep coming back. The only thing I don't like about this place is when there's a person before me ordering and the person behind the counter gives them double the amount they give me. They see me and they think "this girl can't eat that much so I will give her less." It's okay I take that as a compliment.......but next time I will ask for more. lol read more

I have been coming here for the past 6 months about 2-3 times a month to buy food for the family. This is the only place I have found whose Sweet and Sour Pork is not covered in mounds of flour. This main reason I come here is for that dish and it's delicious. The BBQ Pork is also very good. My mom likes it and says it reminds her of "Carnitas" with an Asian twist. She loves it! Plenty of parking in the morning. Thought I would wait for this place to open, but they actually started serving food earlier than their posted hours. Very similar in style and set-up to Panda Express (pre-made food in trays behind glass), but better value for money. They filled the food all the way up to the top, and then some. This food is delicious!!!! We originally stopped for Popeyes and the line was too long to we tried this Asian food a few doors down and it is BOMB. I have been coming here since I was a teenager actually younger than a teenager a tween. Garlic chicken has always been my favorite and they dried fried ribs are amazing .I love their hot oilthe chowmein is ok its nothing to write about flavor wise but it is great with the hot oil!!! even with the new ownership it still remains wonderful.They always interract with my son and give him a free candy so sweet ! Paid for two entrees chow mein and rice #5 meal. Was supposed to have an egg roll. They didn't give me an egg roll. Or a receipt. And looks at you like you are weird asking for chopsticks and you're not Asian. It was an overall bad experience. Used to like the place back in the day. Must be new management. Never trust a place you don't see them cooking in. Never again. UPDATE: Suggestion: IF you do insist on eating here, be prepared to do a parasite & colon cleanse afterward. You will need it. Not going to lie, I was pretty hesitate to go here since my hubby had brought me to another "good" Chinese fast-food establishment. I was not a fan of the other place. He said he use to come here all the time when he when to CSU Hayward, so for old time sake, I decided to go with him. From the outside, the place is pretty rundown and the inside isn't that much better. The food was displayed the same way Panda Express has their food; under hot plates and heat lamps. Unlike Panda Express, the choices weren't as colorful or veggie filled. A lot of meat with a side of meat. FYI...if you're a vegetarian, there's slim pickin's. I am not, so I don't have to worry. After reading so many yelp reviews about the Spicy Ginger Chicken, I decided to order some. I opted for half fried rice and half chow mein, spicy ginger chicken, and Hunan Pork. First bite, oily and greasy yet oh so tasty. Perhaps MSG? I don't know, but whatever it is, I want more. I took a bite of the Hunan Pork; fried, breaded pork-delicious. This dish taste very simple to the Beijing Beef at Panda Express. I love it. Spicy Ginger Chicken is bone-in. Not a fan and I don't know where the "spicy" comes in because I didn't find mine very spicy at all, still good but I definitely liked the pork better. Chow Mein was very greasy and fried rice was just right. No peas and carrots or egg in the fried rice which is perfect for my hubby, since he HATES vegetables. Overall, a solid three stars. The hubby did a lot better than with this place than the other "good" Chinese fast-food joint (this place will not be named..but I'm sure you can find it in my other reviews.) - If you're a vegetarian, you're better off going to a real Chinese restaurant. The dishes don't have a lot of vegetables mixed in, which is one thing I love about Panda Express. (Panda Express only has ONE vegetarian dish other than their steamed veggies.) - I'm cool with bone-in chicken dishes, but when the bone, cartilage and all that jazz is left in, I'm not a happy camper. - Two, two entrée plates for 11.99. I used to frequent this place all the time from 2005 to 2008. After a long hiatus, I came back and the food was just as I remembered...fast, delicious, and - oh yes - cheap! I ordered my usual 2 entree plate, which consisted of a heaping serving of fried rice, 2 sides of spicy ginger chicken, and spicy ginger chicken sauce smothered all over. The servings were generous, as always. Hell, I was going to ask her put some rice back, haha. And might I add that there are no vegetables in the fried rice? Awesome!!! I ordered: - Fried rice - Beef & brocolli - Sweet & sour pork. The rice was just fried with soy sauce poured on it and miniscule bits of eggs through it. The beef and brocolli ratio was 1:6 ( beef : brocolli ) + the brocolli had a lot of stem. The sweet & sour tasted okay but the sauce was watery. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!! I came in and ordered shrimp fried rice and two sides. I then paid for my food and stepped aside to wait for my rice. I asked tbe cashier if the rice came with pork and chicken as well, she informed me that it did not - that what I wanted was the combination rice. I then asked her for the combinaation rice and she refused to give it to me even though i offered to pay the difference. Citing that they had already made the shrimp fried rice. I had to. go back and fourth with this lady for close to tem mintues and threaten to cancel my entire order before she finally agreed to give me what I had asked for. OK, I could really care less about what everyone has said about this place, but I am giving them 5 stars and will continue to do so forever. Long story short, when my family moved to Hayward, we were able to afford the house, utilities, and that was about it. My dad used to treat my brother and I to take-out food every Friday and this place quickly became one of my childhood comforts. Yea, there's better food to be had in the area, but we were pinching pennies. I do agree that the quality has gone down in the past couple years. I miss having two fried rice choices. I HELLA miss the garlic chicken wings. Yes, wings. Sticky, sweet, spicy garlic wings. The current chicken thigh chunks taste close enough but don't provide the mess of the wings of old. The dried fried ribs are better than most salt and pepper ribs I'd had. It's probably the fact that use throw in fried garlic. True, some pieces can be mostly bone and/or gristle, but there are pieces that are pure porky bliss. I don't think you can beat the value. $6 feeds my girlfriend and I. And if you don't order the combo meals, the a la carte servings are ALWAYS more than the boxes can handle. The ambience is non-existant. Who cares? If you eat in, you're going to leave soon after. You're not going to hang out and play sudoku. More likely than not, you'll be taking the food home, so who really care about the ambience. Asian Wok is comfort food to me.
