Found this gem when I got lost. The best Chinese food in S Florida. I'm used to Chinatown in NYC and Hongs BBQ is authentic. Everything I've tried is delicious! Only downside is the service. You have to get up and ask for water and anything else you need. No one comes around to ask. If their servers were a little more helpful and serve, this place would be a goldmine! I was very disappointed. I ordered roast pork in pan fried noodles. I have had this several times previously here. Usually the honey roast pork is sliced into thick pieces and delicious. This time it was cut into paper thin slivers. It did not even taste like their honey roast pork. When I questioned the female server she was rude and walked away from the table. After a few visits, I am a big fan. The chicken, duck and pork "BBQ" are very good and because they are a bit harder to find right now, they are a real treat. For people that have never have crispy pork Chinese style, this is a great place to try some. (My Cuban friends go crazy over it!) The indoor dining space is supposed to open again soon, but right now it is only open for carry out. Hongs is a clean place with an appealing aroma, not the stink of dirty woks, old wontons and greasy floors. The guy with the cleaver chops up the meat right in front of you and you can see a selection of the other specialties, in the display case. Some of those are way too "authentic" for me. The young woman working the counter spoke very clear English and had a big smile on her face. The duck is terrific. For the uninitiated, the way that it is chopped is similar to Jamaican cooking so eating with your hands and navigating small bones is a must, but of course, worth every bite. Just have a roll of paper towels handy. I have also tried a couple rice dishes that were quite good including a salted fish and chicken fried rice order. So far everything has been piping hot and delicious. Its hard to work your way down the menu after you see the meat, but they seem to do a good job with everything, at least so far. Really love this place. It's very clean and the employees are very nice. I've been here 2 times and both times got great service. We didn't know how many pounds to order and they were nice enough to show us and even helped us not over order. We got the four combinations barbecues and it was delicious. In my humble opinion, it first has to start with service and the lady waitress is very warm and friendly. The wonton soup is exceptional. The big difference is that there is little dough and more meat which is what I appreciate. We tried the mixed meat platter and my favorite is the roasted chicken. Finally made it to Hong's and it did not disappoint other than wanting to try the BBQ meats and they were sold out. I ordered a wonton soup as a meal and my wife stuck with a standard Sesame chicken. The soup was served hot with about 10 wontons filled with delicious pork and shrimp. They had good texture/taste and appeared freshly made. There was also plenty Bok choy in the soup. My wife's chicken was made with white meat and the breading to chicken ratio was perfect. The garlic sauce was fantastic with the chicken and white rice. Let me start by saying my ancestry is Cantonese, and I am discerning when it comes to Chinese BBQ. This place is kinda close to where I work so I thought I would give it a try. The first time I went they just happened to be closed for a private event. But I am persistent. Came back another time and thankfully found them open. We ordered the four combination platter with, char siu, crispy pork, salted chicken, and roast duck. Everything was excellent! Very well seasoned chicken and duck; crispy, crispy pork, and the right amount of sweet, savory, and charr on the bbq pork. I most appreciated that the items were expertly cut and presented and not "hacked" like some other places and thrown in a box. We did go back another time and tried the beef stew and turnip pot and that was just okay. I was surprised it was so bland. That day we also ordered the crispy pork (2 lbs.) but it was not crispy at all and the cut just wasn't the same. But this time we ordered ahead. Maybe that is the difference? I was just there yesterday and ordered 1.5 lbs of crispy pork because my husband had a craving and it was very good. I guess this place is a bit hit or miss. Maybe because it is new they are still working out the kinks. So definitely try the roasted chicken, duck, and pork. The rest of the menu is to be determined. read more

This place is absolutely wonderful. I've yet to have a single item/meal here that wasn't the best or one of the best I've had (of each item/meal) in all of South Florida. Their honey roasted pork is wonderful; their orange chicken is wonderful; their crispy pork is wonderful; THEIR PORK FRIED RICE is wonderful... it's all wonderful. The only issue I have is that they run out of food very consistently. So while they close at 8 PM, don't expect them to have what you want if you get there at, say, 6 PM. Once they're out of a given type of meat for the day, it's over. The popular stuff might even run out earlier than that. One time I went there on three consecutive days, each time at like 6:30 PM, and each time was told they were out of pork for the day. That really should not happen. I hope over time they get a better sense of demand so they can ensure not to run out of food at the end of each day. Other than that, they're perfect. I can't dock them a star for this though because when I think about it if a place inspires me to drive to them three nights in a row, just to get rebuffed each time, and I still go back, then they're obviously worth the 5 stars lol read more

We are always looking for NYC China Town quality food in South Florida, especially since Silver Pond changed owners/chefs, and so we tried Hong's for the first time and thought it was very good! We had wonton soup, pan fried dumplings, Yang chow fried rice and the combination of roast pork and crispy pork and it was all very good! The two pork dishes especially reminded me of what you find in NYC. We are looking forward to going back again and trying other things on the menu, especially the pork belly. The only thing I would suggest to the owners (because I see they read and take these reviews seriously) is that they use different containers for to-go orders. The styrofoam melts, doesn't hold in heat and leaves food soggy. Maybe you could try plastic containers instead. read more

My food arrived I cannot wait to dive in I opened the container and everything looked great. I took my first bite and the food literally was cold as if they just took it out of the refrigerator and put it in a box. I've heard other reviews stating the same. This could possibly just be because it's delivery however I still feel that if you order a roasted meat, you should get hot food I had to put everything in the microwave which tends to dry things out. The duck I must have gotten the spine of the duck because there was no meat what meat was there was extremely fatty . chicken and roasted pork was good but would've been much better if it arrived hot and fresh.
