If your standard for Chinese food is the run-of-the-mill "Chinese" eatery, this place will fit you just fine. If, the other hand, your standard comes from having enjoyed authentic, quality Chinese fare, this is not the place for you for the quality of the meals we tasted was below our lowest expectations. We ordered both the traditional fried rice and pan fried noodles. The fried rice, a standard of most styles of Chinese cuisine, was beyond disappointing. First, the rice itself was low quality, it felt like cheap Uncle Ben's rice then the other ingredients were miserly present be it shrimp, chicken, etc. There was no wok fire taste to it, it was just terrible The noodles were a bit better but were too bland, flavorless, and again miserly including ingredients. This restaurant has Chinese Bbq dishes but our standard order when we try a new Chinese Restaurant is to order these two traditional dishes which any decent Chinese chef should handle well except here where they fell below par. Frankly, in a city that appreciates quality Chinese food e.g. San Francisco, Vancouver, Montreal, NY, this place wouldn't last 6 months. So, needless to say, we ain't returning ever again. Sorry but I am not particularly happy and paying quality meal prices only to receive mall type food. read more

I've threatened to eat American Chinese here, but I never do. Fried wontons are the kind they use in their HK wonton soup with pork and shrimp and are excellent. Dry tofu with pork is delicious. The shrimp pan-fried noodles have a very bland white sauce; I thought it would come with the brown sauce the bbq pork one does, but it doesn't, so it needs soy and chili if you get it or ask for a brown sauce. Shrimp itself in it is of good quality. Probably should have gotten the pork or the salt and pepper shrimp. read more

As we live around here, I've ordered from here almost a dozen times but only takeout and usually the same things. They are usually ready within 15-20 mins. The food is great but my biggest issue is with their consistency, hence the 4 star rating. I love the honey roasted pork but once, we got a ton of super fatty bits and another time, we got a ton of burnt bits. My cousin absolutely loves the pork fried rice from here, but the last time we got it, I think they forgot to put soy sauce because it was so bland that I almost spit it out. We winded up going home and refrying it with soy sauce because it was nearly inedible. My other cousin loves their beef chow fun, but once, the noodles weren't cooked properly so we had a bunch of noodles stuck together. I've order fry rice 2 orders it was suppose to be the special fried rice and what I received was white rice with just a few vegetables and just like five shrimps in the whole order and it's a big order I order two . I was hoping for a crisp and yummy pork but that was not the case. The pan fried noodles were okay but something was off about the sauce. The staff was very welcoming and we were well taken care of. We ordered duck, salt chicken, fried rice, snow pea tips, and eggplant. I will go through them now. Duck- very fresh but the problem was they did not add any five spice or other aromatics. I was very sad because the freshness was on point but because of the lack of five spice and aromatics it had very little flavor :-( I really wanted that to not be the case. Salt chicken- tasted a little freezer burned but otherwise was good. Fried rice- was above average but lacked the over the top flavor that some competitors have going for them. Snow pea tips- best I've ever had. Amazing and fresh. Eggplant- tasted like American bbq sauce was added to it. Food is usually good but like many others have said I wouldn't order roast duck again since it does tend to be really fatty and lots of bones. I do like the noodle dishes here. But I have to take a star away for one of the regular servers lack of English and poor customer service in general. Never even checked up on us throughout entire meal to see how we were doing and definitely no smile. Her service alone makes me want to never come back or at least not eat there again. Second the bathroom definitely needs work. It is filthy and needs to have a deep cleaning in all parts of the bathroom. Last, bathroom isn't very convenient for babies since there is no changing table in there but seeing how dirty it is I would avoid the bathroom if you can. read more

This review is a bit overdue. I love boneless spareribs/bbq pork and I had heard they had excellent boneless spareribs. It's a bit far for me but from work, it's not too bad a drive. It's a small restaurant and you can eat in or takeout or sit outside at the small table. Each time I've been here, I ordered the bbq pork plate with white rice. Included is a little bit of Chinese broccoli. I get home and heat up some of the pork and rice and it's so yummy. The sauce has a bit of five spice powder in it but it doesn't overpower it. The pork is perfectly cooked and I love when they give a bit extra sauce to mix in the rice. Service is always friendly and helpful. read more

Visited a few weeks ago and got a variety of dishes to try. All were excellent and full of flavor without being greasy. Loved all the BBQ and roast meats particularly the Crispy Pork and the Roasted Duck. The noodle soups were also excellent. The Beef Chow Fun was a standout dish and one of the best takes on the dish that I've had in awhile. They make a congee with traditional Chinese donuts that I loved to eat when I was in Hong Kong as a little kid. On the first visit, they had limited supplies left around 530pm but i got the roast pork (char siu) which was delicious. Hong's is the best food for my Chinese soul! After 10 days on a cruise ship, then 2 more days soaking in the Key West vibes, we arrived back in Fort Lauderdale at the awesome Guitar Hotel. We are talking about not having rice for 13 days! Lucky us, Hongs is only 1.5 miles away!!! It's located in a strip mall, Cafe style, Staff is super friendly and helpful! I ordered the beef stew wonton noodle soup. SO BOMB and authentic flavors! My eyes widened with happiness at the first taste of the broth. But wait, it gets better....the wonton dumplings...if I didn't know better, the chefs are from Hong Kong. I don't need to say anymore. But I will! We also ordered the 2 item bbq combo with Roast Duck and BBQ Pork. The roast duck was hot, crispy, and dripping with 5 spice juices! The BBQ pork was sweet, perfectly burnt edges from the sugar, and balanced with fatties and meat. Our third dish was the Beef PAN FRIED noodles,( not to be confused with chow mein here because that's just mixed veggies? You best ask to be clear what u want), and my skinny husband devoured half the plate! The portions are huge, the flavors are on point, and the pricing is great. When I saw the chef uncles sit down for their staff lunch, I almost leaped out of my chair to give then a hug and thank you for the most delicious meal I've had in 13 days.
