WOW! YOU HAVE TO READ THIS! This is not your average 1 star review for this dealership. Trust your instincts, they are 2.5 stars for a reason. I live on Maui. I located an advertisement on AutoTrader for a Toyota Tacoma for sale at the Cadillac dealership. I contacted the sales department, my first question was, "Is this vehicle currently for sale"? The salesman said it was available and currently on the lot. I advised the salesman that I was going to take a flight from Maui first thing in the morning. I advised the salesman that if he had an interested party prior to my arrival to please contact me and I would not fly over for the day to purchase it. He agreed and I exchanged my phone number so he may call me if somebody else showed interest. This was at 6:45 pm and they close at 8:00 pm. The dealership opens at 9:00 am, and I was scheduled to arrive at 10:15 am, I know as well as most that it takes more than an hour to sell a car, so I felt pretty comfortable flying over. I arrived at 10:15 am that next morning only to be told that they just sold the vehicle, but would I be interested in a Ford Ranger instead? Really? They sold the car in 1 hour and 15 minutes time?. I flew back home and wrote an email to Justen Chilcoat the General Manager. Justen responded and apologized for the misunderstanding (there was no misunderstanding) it was clearly a bait and switch. Are you kidding me, I fly over for the day to purchase a Tacoma and come home with a Ranger? NOT. Justen also stated that he would reimburse me for the flight. I emailed the receipts for the flight and parking, a total of $91.00. It has been over two months since, still no reimbursement. DONT STOP READING, IT GETS BETTER!!! Five weeks later I flew over to Oahu with my family for a weekend vacation in Waikiki and Pearl Harbor. I had a bit of spare time, so I searched AutoTrader for another Tacoma. I found the exact same vehicle at the Acura dealership just 2 blocks away from the Cadillac dealership. I did a little research and found that the Cadillac dealership and the Acura dealership are both owned by Lithia. I drove over to the Acura dealership and located the vehicle, I was helped by a very nice saleslady that assisted me on a test drive. During my conversation with her I inquired how long that the Acura dealership had the vehicle on their lot, she looked at the paperwork for the car and stated, "It has been a little over 6 weeks" She even stated that she had helped the prior owner that was trading the truck in to unload the items from the bed into his new SUV. She also told me that the vehicle had never left the Acura dealership lot. I told her what had happened at the Cadillac dealership just 5 weeks prior. I know along with others and myself included you hear a lot of horror stories or how bad the service can be at dealerships but Chad went above and beyond and was crystal clear with everything regarding my vehicle along with being honest and responsive to all my questions and concerns. Bought a used car March 11 with the intention of refinancing right away. It was late. I made a deal walked into the finance office and was lied to by Theresa claiming that the service contract was required by the finance company. Not true at all. I try to refinance only to find out they didnt renew registration that was expiring april so dmv kicked it so registration and title is not in my name still to this day... I just want out of this car and to move on. Highly recommend buying from anywhere else but here. I'm extremely disappointed with Honolulu Buick-GMC-Cadillac. Their servicing needs to improve tremendously. I took possession of a new 2019 Cadillac ATS on May 1st. My car was not ready at the time I had appointed. The car was and is still filthy. The mirrors and glass have water marks and stains. The wheel rim is damaged and to top things off, I had to install my own license plates. I am not accustomed to this type of service. I've owned Cadillacs since 1992 when the dealer, Schuman Carriage, who ALWAYS have the level of service befitting to a Cadillac. read more

I had my cadillac escalade brought in for service due to my gas tank vent malfunction. The technician was superb taking his time to ensure my car got fixed effecienctly. Also, i would like to recognize young lady Aireen was customer service oriented, very polite and respectful. She ensure that i was up to date the situation of my car what needed to fix and how much it cost. Overall, this young lady was spectacular helping customer simultaneosly, which is hard to do. Some of the associate in the front desk when you came in to your right (chubby guy) does not even greet customer upon walked in but smirk on his face. My fob wasn't working so I contacted 2 of the best locksmiths n they couldn't program the fob I bought from eBay. I went to Honolulu Cadillac service and I was very impressed with the service that Ashley provided. I had an appt in town n was planning on catching the bus, but she offered a complementary shuttle service. I wanted to mention the driver Virg, who was willing to give me a ride anywhere I needed to go n pickup. Anyway I bought a new fob with them n were able to program it and I usually don't write reviews but I feel that I had to let everyone know the awesome staff n service this company provides. I own over 10 cars n my Cadillac has always been reliable for my wife. I bought her a Mercedes in the past n the maintenance is triple the cost n unreliable. read more

I have been a Cadillac owner for more than 30 years but will never buy another vehicle from this dealership. My 2016 ATS is now out of warranty. I contacted the service department to schedule an Air Conditioner service appointment. I was told there would be a $180 diagnostic charge in addition to repair charges--not one cent of the diagnostic charge would be applied to the repair charges. I checked with 3 other sources and learned there are "2 or 3" other dealerships on island that do not apply diagnostic charges to the repair charge. There are a lot of dealerships on this island that are interested in providing good customer service--my next new purchase will be with one of those. read more

SAVE YOURSELF. During negotiations our sales man Keith became very condescending & very unprofessional. It's understood no one wants to lose money. However it is expected to go back and forth with numbers until someone is happy. Then, when it came time to look for financing options, they were dragging their feet to find a better rate for us even with our great credit score. They stopped only at their in house company. At the end it came down to the fact they wouldn't budge on a number and we politely left after thanking him for his time. As we left he laughed and said "you're gonna walk away from this amazing deal? You can't do any better." The following day he called & emailed asking "what can he do to get us to buy it?" NOTHING. Stopped by to take a look at a 2021 Buick Encore with my wife and we were amazed by the audacity of the sales manager. Having bought several vehicles in island I was prepared for the "local market value" mark-up. I was not prepared for the efforts they would make to flat out try to give me the worst deal possible. I also was not prepared to find out that someone had put the wrong window sticker in the car we test drove. So first surprise was oh that was the wrong sticker price the real price is 3k more. Ok, ok, mistakes happen so let's move on. At this point I'm told by the salesman that "oh I've never seen them sell one of these for less than 5k OVER full manufacturers suggest retail price and some vehicles they won't sell for less than 10k over full retail price." I told him well if that's the case we might as well leave now. By the time it was over, and after we left one time, only to have the manager come outside to stop us from leaving, they had agreed to sell the vehicle to us for full retail (take away the local market value mark-up) and "give" us the manufacturers rebate. Through the process they tried bashing the local competition by saying they mark their vehicles up even higher, tried blaming it on having a shortage of vehicles even though they have about ten of these on the lot. Luckily we walked out and let them keep their car. I'd hate to be the reason they lose a chance to overcharge someone to the tune of 5-8 k on a 29k vehicle. Came here to look at a used car found on truecar.com, which confirmed they had a discount promotion through the website. Greeted at the entry by maskless employees. Test drove the car fine, but because I was trading in a car they did the whole slimy used car dealer tactic of taking my keys to "check out the trade in", then basically holding me hostage for over an hour. I let them know I had to pick up my child from day care, and they made me wait another half an hour anyway. When I walked over to see what was taking so long, the salesman and manager were just talking story about non-work issues in one of their offices. Then they did a high pressure tactic of trying to force me to make a deal on the spot, and did not honor the truecar promotion (and also only offered $200 for a car valued minimum $3,000 on the low end of KBB). The used car I looked at had issues that were not advertised, such as backup camera not functioning. When I got back to my car I found they did not even drive it, so the taking of my key was just a lie to make me wait. Terrible experience. Unless you negotiate a price ahead of time, do not waste your time here. Even then they might renege on the deal because they do not seem very trustworthy or honest. These people are amateurs and have no idea how to sell cars. If you make someone wait an unnecessarily long time to buy a car, they are going to be pissed and not want to do business with you. read more

These people are the epitome of the CAR SALESMEN stereotype! Disappointing since I recently moved from Miami (a place notorious for scams and bad service) and always had a wonderful experience with the Cadillac dealership there. The dealership in Jacksonville even serves its customers breakfast! So, "Cadillac" and "good service" have always been synonymous in my mind. NOT TRUE HERE IN THE "ALOHA STATE"! If you are thinking of purchasing a vehicle from this dealership, read below so you don't make the same mistakes. Or, better yet, DON'T PURCHASE FROM THIS LOCATION! My Mom had been searching online for a new Escalade- we are from the Big Island and decided to pop into this dealership during a trip to Oahu. The exact make and model she'd been looking for just happened to be sitting on the lot. She decided to move forward and purchase the car that day. She was already pre-approved for a car loan through her insurance company at a very competitive rate. The sales manager walked out and told her that he "highly suggests financing through GMC because they offer a rebate- she could refinance after a month so this would save her money." There are a few problems with this - after a month the car is now considered a "used car loan"; typically rates are higher for used car loans which means she actually pays more for the car in the end. Additionally, the value on Cadillacs drop dramatically - as much as I love them, THEY DO NOT HOLD THEIR VALUE making it difficult to refinance for the amount owed, even after 1 month. When dealing with the finance manager, we asked if we could pay for the extended warranty instead of rolling it into the loan because we calculated it would cost about $1700 more in interest if she didn't pay it upfront. He didn't want to redo the paperwork and made up all sorts of excuses why we couldn't change things. I was honestly disgusted! This really pissed me off! I am a realtor and I tell you what- I wouldn't hesitate to rewrite a contract to save my clients $1,700. I couldn't believe it! A month went by and my mom hadn't received info to pay her loan. When she called the dealership for help she was instructed to "Call GMC directly", like they didn't have time to help her. Turns out they provided GMC the wrong mailing address, which is why my mom didn't receive any payment info. In my opinion, they should've figured this out for her since it was their mistake and since they suggested she go with "GMC financing". Getting the car shipped to Hilo was also a problem and took over 3 weeks! I still don't understand what the problem was - we just shipped a vehicle to Oahu with Young Brothers; it was EXTREMELY simple and fast. This entire experience was terrible! BUYERS BEWARE...!!! If I could give them a negative rating, I would. They are so nice and assisting when purchasing a vehicle, but after you sign documents they ghost you. I gave them a portion of my deposit, but then came into a financial situation due to covid. I contacted them prior to giving them the rest of my downpayment saying I could no longer afford to go through process. They basically told me too bad, it's too late, we got paid by the bank already and it's out of their hands. And that if I don't pay the remainder of that downpayment it's on me and goes to collections. Why would they push through a loan or finance a vehicle without the full downpayment? Mind you I don't even have the car yet, they don't even have the car on their lot yet. They are fraud and only care about making money. They don't care about their customers or what they might be going through. As long as they get paid they're good. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. I contacted the dealership via text message from a listing I saw on Craigslist. I was responded to that day with an appointment made to come in and see the Jeep. I'm a mom with minimal free time so I went directly after work and showed up early to try and have more time. I arrived and was greeted, offered water or coffee and was shown the car by Brian who was a manager as I was told, and was in love with the car and wanted to see if I could get a deal. I had to leave to get my son from daycare, but came back with him because I was very interested in the Jeep. We talked about some initial numbers, but I mostly ended up waiting around with my son growing restless by the minute to the point where he was throwing a tantrum and I had to get up and leave. I had some text correspondence with Brian where he said he understood and that I can come back tomorrow and he'll have good news for me He did not. I made another appointment to sit down and talk numbers (this time with another salesman, I don't remember his name) and I am told to sit and wait at a desk while they "see what they can do" for me. I feel like everything I said I can and can't do financially was ignored. They just kept coming back with essentially the same numbers, and my trade in was being offered to buy at almost half the KBB price. I feel like I wasn't even given the time of day to express anything I wanted to say. I feel like they just see a single woman as someone who doesn't know anything and can be pressured and sold to for a rip off. I really loved that Jeep, but it definitely not worth it. I feel like I just had my time wasted and was mostly ignored when I was there. Worst Service Department ever. When I brought my vehicle everyone was helpful and nice. Now every time I bring my vehicle in for service/recalls the Service Department never answers their phone, never calls back to let me know when my vehicle is ready, and takes about an hour of waiting for them to bring my vehicle out when its completed. I thought it would only be a one time deal of poor service, but going on three times in a roll. Never buying another vehicle from them. My 4 months later Review: 01/2017 My last free oil change. I had made an appointment and I'm currently sitting in the waiting area 2 HOURS later and my vehicle still hasn't been taken in the back to get serviced. SMH...... this shit gets old real fast! I'd drop them to no stars if I could. I contacted Honolulu GM the following Monday hoping to report to a proper manager. I was actually able to get someone on the phone and Alan identified himself as the manager so I proceeded to tell him of all the incidences that I have encountered from the beginning up to my last appointment. He seemed genuine, understanding and apologetic. The first real genuine heart-to-heart conversation I've had with anyone at Buick Honolulu. It made me feel a little better knowing a good manager assured me that he personally would make sure everything is done. I truly believed and had high hopes that maybe my mom can continue to take her car there and get the Buick Service she deserved. WELL....... Fast forward 3 weeks to my appointment. I walk in to drop my car off, and I asked the gentleman at his desk that's right in front the door, who I recognized was there during my last appointment, for the manager. He looks up and says, "I'm the manager". I fell into complete shock. This guy that was sitting at his desk right in front of me while I was interacting with Samantha during my last appointment, who was quiet the whole time was ALAN, the SERVICE MANAGER!! It was then I realized that this complete lack of professionalism and deceitful mentality goes way higher than just the service reps. It all made sense to me. The fact that at no time during what I thought to be a truly heart-to-heart and genuine conversation, did he think to confess that he was the one sitting there the whole time and he was already well aware of the situation. He just carried on the conversation like this was all new news to him and seemed disappointed at the service I was receiving from his staff. He just sat there the whole time while I was voicing all of my concerns to Samantha and not ONCE thought to step in and identify himself as a manager and take responsibility of the situation! Even more mind boggling is he didn't even try to support his staff in anyway in all the time I was there. He just left them to try and answer my questions. If he was my manager and he just sat there listening while a customer was voicing multiple serious concerns, I would feel completely abandoned. What's more compelling is why Samantha didn't at any point ask him as her manager to step in? My guess is that she knew from past experiences that he lacks the ability to act as a manger and does not have true confidence in him as a manager. Or he felt that all the treatment I was receiving from his staff thus far was acceptable to his standards which would greatly contradict our conversation later. Either way, it proves the complete lack of professional moral. To make it worse, he personally promised to make sure my car was taken care of but instead he left early and made Samantha call me when my car was ready. He didn't feel any sense of responsibility as a manger to show face and follow through with his promise to "personally ensure". I was a manager for over 15 years and I cannot even imagine disregarding my promise to a customer the way he did. Nor would I have EVER left my staff out to hang the way he did. Lithia has truly failed by giving such title and paying a manager's salary to someone who clearly has no clue as to what a manager is supposed to do. My thought is very possibly the issue goes even higher in management. Get a true manager who will actually benefit your company and change this travesty of a service department into something that proud GM owners such as my mom can actually BE proud of! I have faith that with the right true manager behind them, Samantha, Alan and the others can be great service reps. Until then, it breaks my heart that now I have to tell my mom that she just has to let go of the idea of getting the same Buick Service she remembers her father receiving. They claim 172 point inspection but I have video and picture proof that they do not do that. Instead they do temporary repairs just to sell their cars and push their salesman like Nick Nakama to scam you. First one was a GMC terrain with oil consumption issues! Didn't even last me 6 months! Next was Chevy Malibu that had electrical issues that left me stranded that same night I bought the vehicle! And the most expensive one was a 2019 Mazda CX5 that only lasted me 11 months due to them hiding a JB weld repair on the engine block that cost me $13000 at Mazda to replace! Nick Nakama is a sleazy car salesman just like the dealership itself. They took advantage of the fact that I desperately needed a vehicle for my family and sold me cars that were not safe to drive. IF YOU HAVE A FAMILY, DO NOT BUY FROM HERE! You are putting them in danger! And yes I addressed these issues early on to their service department and to Nick and all I got was an and offer to get a more expensive and newer vehicle each time or "Take it to Mazda"! You can't just keep trading in your vehicle every time it breaks, but that's what they rely on. I took video and photo proof that they do not inspect their vehicles. Who puts JB weld on a leaking engine block or zip ties on holding the exposed wires to the auto stop system???! Then they say that I should've bought their extended warranty. All they care about is selling you a car before you get out the door. I bought 3 vehicles from them within a year span because Nick Nakama comes off as if he wants to help you and your family but in reality it's all about his commission and pay. The Malibu I bought from them didn't even have registration or safety, they claim that, that's normal for Hawaii?!! Lol. Me being new to the island fell for that trap too. I'd give 0 stars if I could. I was not going to post but I think other people should be aware. We went in to purchase a vehicle back in august 2020. We want a truck but was told trucks are on high demand. They didn't have so we started looking at the trucks that "were in transport" to the island. We found one truck that we really liked. We were told that they can't hold the trick we would have to buy the truck and it should take about 3-4 weeks to get it. So we were trading in our Chevy Colorado and they gave us $17k for it. Then they asked for cash down. (I later learned when purchasing a vehicle if you trade your vehicle is your down payment and therefore do t need to drop cash down payment). We didn't know so we put $2k down on top of our trade in. Please also keep in mind the entire time we are looking and negotiating they hold both our licenses hostage just like the commercials we see. Okay so we select the truck sign our truck as a trade in abs put cash down as well and tell them we will drop off the check from the bank the next day. We go back the next day check in hand. Before we leave we sign final paperwork. We ask about our current trucks insurance. Being we no longer own it because we used it as a trade in how does insurance work, we are instructed to leave the insurance on our current vehicle since we will still be driving it until our truck comes in. So I won't lie we were super excited so after two weeks we called to get an update but no truck. 3 weeks no truck, 4 weeks no truck. We keep calling and all they can tell us is it is in transit. It's September already no truck and I'm going to have a baby so we needed the bigger vehicle. Every week we called no truck no truck no truck! Our truck did not get here until October! We pick the truck up 10/14/2020.... FINALLY! I was pretty annoyed so I literally stayed in the car! We sign the last of the paperwork and I transfer the insurance over from the Colorado to the GMC Sierra. Now for more fun... I get a letter in the mail about a lapse of insurance and we need to pay $830.00 to our bank because we did not insure the vehicle from august-October. So apparently even though we do not have the vehicle in our possession because we own it our insurance should have been switched to the new truck the day we signed the papers and handed over the check we should have never kept insurance on our Colorado we were driving. So we've been working on trying to get that amount fixed and taken off our loan since technically the vehicle was still insured. Honestly gmc has tried to help they even wrote a letter. But it didn't help. And now when we go in to get the truck serviced we try to get one of the guys to help us but no one is ever in or available. So we are now stuck paying a ridiculous amount for insurance that could have been prevented if we insured the truck from the start. So if you have a vehicle being shipped please make sure you insure it! Lastly, we didn't get our truck until October so why in the world do we have a registration due in July of this year! Over all I honestly believe we were ripped off big time! Workers are nice when they are available if not expect nothing to happen! We bought a truck got ripped off, waited 2 months before we actually were able to pick it up and got screwed with insurance portion! I can honestly tell you although my husband loves his truck, I hate it! I would never want to by a vehicle from GMC again! My true feelings! Straight up best friends in your face or making a sale but you are just another crap customer who gave them a commission. So please be careful when buying from them! This is strictly for the service department since I can't speak for the other areas (I bought my car at the old Pfleuger dealership on South Beretania). Anyway, I've called numerous times to make a Service appointment and Megan NEVER returns my calls! They even have an online option to make appointments and when I took my car in the guy who greeted me said their online appointment option should've been disabled and customers must call in. When I told him that I called numerous times with no response he took me into the main office to make an appointment which they were also busy and I had to come back in 2 weeks later for servicing. I tried calling to confirm my appointment because I didn't want to drive from Kailua again to bring my car in if they weren't going to look at it, Megan again wasn't available and the guy at the front desk took a message and said she'd call back. A few years ago I brought my car in for servicing and they didn't even call me back for a few days. I had to physically go in to see what they were doing to my car! It was parked on the side and no one called to say that it was ready to pick up not to mention it was super dirty when I got it and they didn't even fix the problem that I brought it in for. Overall, I want to sell my Cadillac and get rid of it so I don't have to deal with them anymore! I had much better experiences with King Windward Nissan and Mazda on Ala Moana! read more

I would not bring a car here for service if not for the fact it's lease vehicle. Dropped car on Friday for a Saturday oil change appointment. They never call! Why? Because they didn't check key box. Take care up on Tuesday for 0900 appointment...1100 they finally check it in. They tell my son that "there were lots of cars here before him." Note: I've dropped it off 2 times for oil changes...on time with appointments...they've forgotten to do them both times and we've had to come back a second time and get servicing done. Bottomline up front: Overpriced Rude Ignorant The GMC dealer is the worst I have ever been too. Not only they don't know what they are selling you but the also try to lie to you. I went in to try and buy a SUV and they lied about featues and mark ups. The Vehicle they were tring to sell me was $4000 above fair market value. They said it was due to being in Hawaii. I went to another dealer and they had no such markup. I was there for 3 hours and was getting ready to sign papers when I figured I was being lied to. The sales man acted the fool and pretended he missunderstood me. The Manager never bother to come apologized. It was like he was doing me a favor and selling me a car. The worse experience ever! I purchased a brand new SUV for over $40000 and the GMC service totally disregarded all my multiple complaints with issues from faulty brakes, to major power steering and AC problems. For over a year I took my LEMON back and forth, about 25 times (over 35 days in the shop, without even receiving a rental in exchange). Each time they reassured me that the LEMON they sold me is in perfect condition, although strange noises and vibrations were present and hard to ignore.
