Last Christmas, my favorite niece and nephew by default surprised me with an Apple Watch. I was infatuated with watches growing up, but it was limited to Swatch, Casio and Timex. I wanted to #payitforward so I surprised them by allowing each one to select a TAG Heuer of their choice within my budget range. I ordered their watches online and now it was time to have the watch band links adjusted, as well as have my Omega watch battery changed. In the past I've gone to Ben Bridge Jeweler Timework at Ala Moana Center for these services, but I took the kids on a Monday afternoon. Who would have known that on Mondays, the specialists at both Ben Bridge stores at Ala Moana Center have the day off? We then went to Omega Boutique also in Ala Moana, but they only will touch Omega watches and not my TAGs. The Omega staff suggested I go to Macy's but because these watches cost pretty pennies, I wanted a reputable business to perform these transactions. I asked fellow Elite Lyla D. and her recommendation: Honolulu Time Company (HTC). Located in the Hawaiian Life Building on the corner of Piikoi St and Kapiolani Blvd, HTC is one of the tenants that shares the parking lot with other businesses such as Hawaii National Bank, International Mid Pac College and Envy Hair Salon. They are a family business that has been servicing Honolulu since the late 70's specializing in vintage and contemporary watches. Lyla is a good friend, so I trust her and decided to try here instead after multiple visits to Ben Bridge. The attitude and service at Ben Bridge were so disappointing that a change was needed. Prior to coming here, I called in advance and was advised no appointment was needed and was quoted the price for watch band adjustment and battery change. I picked up the kiddos and brought our watches. We were advised they needed about 1 hour to service our 5 watches, so I dragged the kiddos to a grab a drink in Kaimuki to kill time. We came back shortly after the quoted hour and the watches were ready. Everything fit well with the exception for one of my watches as it was too snug, so the jeweler added back on another link. When it was time to pay, the amount was higher than what was quoted over the phone. On the phone, the female staff had an accent which was difficult to understand, but I repeated her quotations and knew what to expect. I looked at both kiddos who were so happy with their new watches, so I chose not to make a scene and just paid the bill of $146.55. Overall, I have mixed feelings with HTC as they indeed perform the watch bank link adjustments and replaced my watch battery but was charged higher than what was quoted. Not sure what I'll do the next time I need to have my higher end watches serviced. If I were alone, I'd question the discrepancy prior to paying but just didn't have the heart to ruin the kid's excitement and happiness over $10. 2022 #45

Fact: I haven't wear any wrist watch for more than 3 months now. It broke when we were having a good vacation in Boracay Island in Philippines! Went to my tailor hoping they could fix my car's seat cover. Though I got a negative answer I got enlightenment for myself as I saw this shop downstairs from my tailor's stall. Peep in, trying to inquire and boom, gotta be quick on coming back so that I can fix my old watch which my friend gave to me from before. A woman came in to help and accommodate me. She's mundane enough and I am so grateful for her help. Anyway, she took my watch and meticulously checking the issue. She even asked me if I would like to get a new battery for it. And since my new wrist band just came in which I picked from while ago, she was able to attach it and 15mins. later I got a brand new looking watch! Leave the shop happily contented. The $35 I paid is all worth it. At the moment, forget my broken apple watch. Right now, I am just elated that I was able to find a shop that fix my concern and it feels great to have my time with me.

The fiancés watch was getting beat up and since our anniversary is coming up decided to upgrade her daily Rolex. Worked with David once again and we found the perfect watch. Stainless datejust with blue motif dial. OMG pics do not do it justice. Smooth process as usual and he hooked up my boy with a two tone bluesy!! Mint. Didn't get a pic of that tho . If you're looking for a one stop shop see David at Honolulu time co. You will not be disappointed.

My daily wear 90's rolex submariner suddenly had an issue one day in which it wouldn't wind. I happened to be on Oahu for work and took it into Honolulu Time Co and they were able to tell me exactly what was wrong with it, how to fix it, and cost... all within 10mins. Had the winding mechanism replaced and complete service with them, and it only took 2 weeks! A very reasonable price at that. Watch was shipped back to me (interisland) securely and is running in top shape. Professionalism at its finest. I've dealt with a lot of watch shops but this one takes the cake.

I'm really pleased with my experience with Honolulu Time! David was extremely easy to talk to and his communication made every step of the process top-notch. I sincerely appreciate his effort to make sure every detail was correct as well as just being so responsive to any questions I had. It makes a world of difference when you get that kind of service. David went out of his way to go back and forth with different watches based on their condition and was transparent about the process the entire time. I felt like I could trust his word and that he was being totally honest with me. The storefront itself has a really great selection of watches and seems to get new inventory often which makes this a great place to find your luxury watch. Not pretentious in the slightest, I was able to try on some AP models they had in the store without hesitation. Seeing something like that online is one thing, but trying it in person is another. You go to any authorized dealer and there is literally zero inventory so this was very important for me in deciding if I really wanted this watch. Overall I would highly recommend Honolulu Time. Great communication, trustworthy and incredibly actionable. Thank you!

David is one of the best in the business. He is kind, patient, and deeply knowledgeable. His pricing is some of the best in the market and often the lowest for examples that are in better condition or unpolished or even NOS. I highly recommend Honolulu Time, don't hesitate. Trustworthy dealers who also have brick and mortars are hard to find. David is one of the best in the business. He is kind, patient, and deeply knowledgeable. (Living with Covid Series) As a Gen-Xer, I'm not a digital native. I remember and have used rotary telephones, pagers, vinyl records, baud modems, film cameras, enlargers, and dark rooms. So its no surprise to hear that I still use a watch, and not just rely on a cell phone. It's not just an affection, I work in an office where we have to leave our cell phones outside in the hallway. So one of my annual rituals is to take my watches to have my batteries replaced. Over the years, I've found the Honolulu Time Company to be the best outfit to do so- in both cost and timely service. To deal with these Covid times: staff is masked and gloved; masks for customers are required; and a maximum of 3 customers in the store at a time. As with the rest of the establishments on 1311 Kapiolani Boulevard, parking for customers is a snap! After dropping off the watch, was told it would take about 30 minutes to replace the battery. So I walked around to find out how some favorite establishments were holding up. About 20 minutes later, made my way back to HTC. The watch was ready, and I went on my merry way! Basic battery replacement was about $16. Recommend and will repeat! #supportlocal

Daisy spent so much time with me throughout the customization process, truly listening to my ideas and ensuring my vision came to life. I provided a loose pink stone, and together they helped create a beautiful piece that feels like a second engagement ring to me. What impressed me most was their commitment to customer satisfaction. There was a misunderstanding during the process that was entirely my fault, not theirs. Despite that, Daisy and Amy went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with the final result. They were patient, kind, understanding, and genuinely cared that I loved my ring. Their professionalism, craftsmanship, and dedication are outstanding, but what really sets them apart is their aloha spirit. They treated me with such warmth and grace throughout the entire experience. I am incredibly grateful and would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for a truly special custom jewelry experience or any piece in general

You should have some idea on what the special person in your life would want and pictures are the best way to get that help in designing the proper ring (if you're going the custom route). This includes, but is not limited to, the setting, the setting material, prong design, diamond clarity/color/cut/size, even other features she might like - and most of all, ring size. Knowing details beforehand made the conversation much more enlightening than I ever imagined. I spent a year sporadically researching options, keeping Moshe in my back pocket - turns out, he was the one I should've went to all along. Back in April, I contacted Moshe since the time was coming up fast. I googled that the turnaround time for a ring was typically 5-6 weeks and I was about 7 weeks out from the day I planned to propose. I needed to get with someone I knew people trusted and that just had a flawless attitude to getting high quality pieces completed - Moshe was my guy. I chatted with him a bit on IG to explain what I'm looking for, got a quick quote, and asked about turnaround time before booking an appointment. When booking the official appointment, you need to provide a deposit (that gets credited to your total cost of the ring). This is when it gets serious so make sure you're ready to commit. When I showed up to the appointment, I was greeted as if I were a family friend. Though I will recommend you inquire about the exact location of their office before you show up. It's impossible to find on Yelp at least to my knowledge and for security purposes, I think it's safe to leave that information out of my review as well, but that's something for you to keep in mind. Anyway, everyone is incredibly nice, they're quite literally like a family. We sat down in Moshe's office where he asked a few basic questions before digging into the finer details about design. I had videos, pictures, and experiences to share (based on discussions I had with my girlfriend). Moshe walked me through the entire customization from diamond size (which I had already picked out prior to the appointment on his website), setting, prongs, and of course, budget and pricing. Most importantly, selecting a date-range for pickup (at least, in my case). After designing, I got to meet Aunty M, who takes payment while Moshe got on the phone to get my order in the queue ASAP due to my time constraint. I was in the process of getting a fresh new credit card for this purchase so I put down a deposit on one card before paying two days later with the fresh one - kind of recommend this since you can end up using these points for a trip later, maybe even your honeymoon, who knows! Come the week that we take off on this trip (proposing overseas), I called up the office to see how we were doing on time. After a bit of back and forth, we agreed on a pickup date one day before takeoff. That meant that I was clear to not only tell my parents it was happening, but to also ask for the blessing of my girlfriend's father. Now that we're back, we downsized the ring by a full size so it'll fit my fiancée's finger better since the hint that I got early on about ring size was actually not accurate. I shared the story of the ring customization with her and let me tell you, it was quite an adventure, but she loves how it came out - it was literally the ideal design. Thank you to Moshe and the team, the ring was perfect thanks to all of you for making it happen. She cannot take her eyes off it now, it's just spectacular.
