Maybe I didn't make myself clear, although I tried my best. My 20 year old Bulova watch's second hand started moving ahead in 5-second jumps. In the past that always meant I needed a new battery, and since I was next door at the Ala Moana shopping center I walked down to the Time Co to get a new one put in. I also wanted to have the goop which had accumulated around the stem (under the crown) removed. A very nice lady came out when I entered, and I explained the situation to her. She looked at the watch and pointed out a scratch on the crystal so I wouldn't think it had happened during the repair. I agreed; it's been there for years. She took the watch to the back room, and returned to me in the showroom. We talked about watches for a few minutes, then she went back into the back room and returned with my watch. She said it couldn't be fixed, because parts weren't available. I said I didn't want anything fixed, and asked if they could just put a new battery in it, but she refused. I left, thinking a new watch was called for, especially when it stopped completely over the weekend, but, hey, nothing to lose, so I went to Longs and asked them to replace the battery. They took overnight to do it, but I got it back today and it works fine. They also (without being asked, and without telling me) cleaned the gunk on the stem. At Longs it cost $7.50. So, like I say, maybe they misunderstood what I wanted. I hope that's all it was. read more

They're always getting new stock in so its good to check back every once in a while. You will find something you're looking for. All their watches are pre-owned but are in very good condition. The prices are very reasonable. Probably the most reasonably priced shop with high end preowned watches. They take trade ins as well and will really help you out if you've shopped here before. My mother-in-law purchased a Rado watch sometime ago for her brother-in-law as a gift but he didn't like it so she ended up giving it to my 13 yrs old son. We went to have it resize and although we didn't have the receipt anymore, they still resized it for my son at no charge. Then she left her Rolex to get over-hauled and have the face glass changed. I use to use another repair shop in Honolulu, and the repairman did a horrible job and ripped me off. These people are Shady and I mean Shady. Don't trust them to change your battery watch even. I had been a customer for many years 19 years, till recently. After receiving a new battery in my Mont blanc watch I suddenly noticed the watch hands were all still / dead and the face of the watch (numeric dial: was now turned so 12:00 was now 10:00 am. I couldn't believe what happened, the only way this could have happened is they gut my watch and fiddled with the internal mechanism of my watch, versus just putting in a battery. In addition I noticed black dots / scratches (3 total that were never there before) at 10, 2, and 4 o'clock positions on my guillloche face of my white mont blanc watch that had never been there! When I confronted the 40 wish old vietnamese lady she called a younger 30 ish year old guy to look at it. He accuses me of somehow breaking the watch which was not the case at all and blames me! Only after the old guy comes out argues with me shirks any responsibility opens the back of my watch and then slams it on the glass counter angrily. He then calls me "hey man" ( i am a woman, thank you ) as all three of them argue with me at the same time. I ask how can resolve this, after 15 minutes of being ganged up on the offer to fix it, finally and be accountable for their ineptness. While waiting seated in the chair, old man vietnamese verbally harasses me. I ask "Are you threatening me while I am just sitting in this chair quietly? Do you want me to call the police officer? He gives up and younger dude comes back with my fixed watch and somehow offers to reimburse me for cost of the battery. Having utilized a card payment originally I declined as I was afraid they might skim my card digits too and said never mind. Dishonest, rude, over priced, don't come her unless you want to be ripped off, and insulted. read more

I went in there to service my Rolex watch not knowing they also deals jewelry and also ended up getting my gold bracelet fixed within 30min. Price was very reasonable. Everyone in the store seemed extremely pleasant and I am looking forward to go back in 2weeks to get my watch. We initially took my wifes Rolex watch for repair at another watch company which we paid $300 for repair and it never got fix. We took it back 3 times and it still would work on and off. I went on internet and found Honolulu Time company and gave it another try. They did a full maintenance on it, it took 3.5 weeks for them to finish. We picked it up and after a day it still would stop. We took it back and after 2 weeks they replaced a part and now it has been working for a week. Over the course of a week I had two watches serviced for battery replacements by Honolulu Time Company. Customer service and communication leave much to be desired. If asking a few questions about the details of the service I'm paying for causes more than one employee to answer curtly, and act annoyed then I'll gladly take my business to places where someone is treated equally for spending $75 or $7,500. Politeness is lacking - thank you and I'm sorry are unknown words here. I had to to bring one watch back to the store, because the case back was not put on properly and the o-ring that seals the case back was protruding from inside the watch. I did not notice it when I picked the watch up before the weekend. Neither the salesperson or the owner gave any apology or even an attempt at one at the fact that someone there messed up and I had to make two extra trips to their store to get my watch back. I do not plan to do business there again. I would not recommend them to a friend, especially with other suitable businesses to purchase the same brands of watches or change a battery nearby. As an aside, one of the times I was at the store, a woman ahead of me dropped off three watches to be serviced. The salesman at the counter dropped the watches in a single plastic bag with what I assume was the service order. The reason I mention it is because the watches were not wrapped in tissue or anything to keep them apart and from potentially scratching each other. (That's how I travel with and brought my watches into the store.) Maybe I just take good care of my things, but even if my watch is not a Rolex, I would still appreciate it being treated like a much more expensive watch. It was just another small reason to go elsewhere in the future. I'd like to give a plug for both Ben Bridge locations at Ala Moana Mall. I spoke to Colin, a watch master for the company. I called to get a second opinion for work being performed at Honolulu Time Company. He went way above and beyond answering my questions and gave me great advice on my issue. I consider myself a picky customer. Being a guy with no fashion sense the only thing I have in terms of accessorizing would be sporting a watch (and I can only pull it off half the time). I traded my old watch in for a couple of Rolexes. A process that took a good month and a half when you factor in all my episodes of indecisiveness and questions. Most normal people would have lost it into the 2nd week. I have to commend Linh and David for their service and patience. Not everyone who walks in could decipher the differences between all the variety of brands, movements, metal types and designs they carried. I also consider myself a savvy shopper when it comes to researching market price through sites like eBay and Craigslist. The items I bought are still lower than what I found online, how awesome is that?? Their prices are beyond reasonable and especially from a retailer. I was Trying to find a "reputable" mechanical watch repair company for high end expensive watches.. After Researching this specific "Honolulu Time Company" on Internet and reading others reports on other review sites, I was unsatisified, So, I decided to go to this store directly to interact with the Owners, managers and sales staff directly and before making any judgment of others reviews. Yelp and or "whomever"...?... Did Not appreciate my first review, and it was removed. This is my second attempt and the review has been edited per the YELP requirements. . I made several visits to Honolulu Time Co.. - I did this over time and interacted with each person accordingly to a potential purchase, and a potential repair. However, They seem accustom to be primarily buyers and resellers of watches. Because Without even promoting my watches to be offered for sale, they were quick to judge them as, "Not Valuable or Not Genuine or Not Original or Poorly Reconditioned" and or the potential repair was Not what I said it needed and I was wrong and undereducated about such mechanical devices, or I was inconceivably aware of such highly technical and Mechanical information to be even able to understand such a complicated concepts...,"as they were experts" Again, I never said I wanted to Sell anything. However, they only seemed interested to value my watches at a substantially lower values, based on their examination. In fact, They went to great length to tell me what I had was of little value. However, I'm a very knowledgeable owner. I know the providence, value and every minute specific detail of each watch they examined of mine and or potential repairs. My impression was they are at the very least a buyers chop shop and reseller and at the very most quite accustomed to "Spinning a Story" the uneducated consumer, in what seems to me for the purpose to take advantage in whatever way possible. Be it a Repair (manufacturer approved or secondary aftermarket parts I can not attest). I didn't feel comfortable to take the chance leaving my watches. However, my several interactions along with their inconsistent information, prices, repair costs and fabricated answers allowed me to believe they are less then transparent and left me questioning their potential Integrity. To the extent of potentially returning home with a watch that was less then a 100% what I'd brought in, prevented me from retaining them for my repairs.. I was told several different prices for the same repair (if that was the problem: told likely not). And a different Price for the same item to purchase each time I was there. Not only watch and repair prices fluctuated each time, as well as their no name brand watch strap bands fluctuated in price per person and per day along with the specifics of the materials used changed, etc. There is No prices or tags listed on anything in this store. Again, I DID NOT SAY I WANTED TO SELL ANYTHING, I was however told what I had was (nothing good and likely bad (please read my above statement again to claifiy) without asking, as if they are usually in that business. They are Appraisers of watches with little or no value no matter what they saw of mine. That said, I can Not imagine this place would be my choice to sell my time pieces. I suggest researching this company yourself, as it is,They do also sell lots online thru a few bigger watch collector websites. Along with their second hand watches, their Jewelry also "looks" second hand.... I was on a watch REPAIR mission and after Several Attempts with the owner and David and others, they FAILED MISERABLY to prove they were "LIKELY" to be reputable in anyway. Some of their dialog and information of their assessments regarding my watches and potential repairs was "to me" purely fabricated and nonsensical. read more

Took my Tag Huer in for repair since It was about time to clean it up. It is self winding but it was about 1 or 2 minutes behind. I took it in thinking that the exact time would be shown. The cost of the repair was exactly $550.00. I thought that it was fair since it took them about 6 weeks to overhaul it. The watch is now not even running , the second hand goes around and gets stuck just before the 12. I have to shake it really hard to get it started but to no avail, it stops again before the 12. It has been less than a year since I have taken it in to them. Never again would I bring in my watch or recommend them to anyone. read more

My wife's Movado battery died, and one of the wristband link retaining pins fell out of her Rolex, so we had two watches needing attention. We live less than a block from these guys, so they were our obvious choice for getting a little watch work done. Walked in at 10:30am and was greeted by a very pleasant lady who agreed to fix both watches while I waited. My watches disappeared into the back, and 10 minutes later I was walking out the door with both problems resolved. They even took the time (no pun intended) to set both watches to the correct time and date. Great, no-nonsense service at a very reasonable price. The service was dishonest from the beginning, my Tissot T-touch needed a simple battery change. None of the staff informed me that they were not an authorized Tissot dealer or yet they took my $1100 watch and gave it back with a battery that only lasted 6 months instead of 2 years and most of the functions were not working. I sent the watch into Tissot itself who vandalized the watch and confirmed that the prior battery change was a hack job and improper work and contamination as most possibly the cause of malfunctioning. I am not jewelry expert but I do like to do my research before I buy anything. I had been shopping for an engagement ring for a few months and talked with just about everyone about what is important, what makes a good stone, etc. I actually really enjoyed learning about everything but I was still having a tough time deciding on a stone to build the ring around. Just at the time I was feeling overwhelmed with information, I was referred to Tiffany at Honolulu Time Co by a friend. I immediately Googled the company and saw that they were a fine watch and clock repair company. I love watches and now wanted to go there to shop for me, but alas, I was on a mission to find a stone for an engagement ring. I didn't know what to expect from a company that had outstanding reviews and reputation in the timepiece industry but little information about engagement rings. Because I was referred to Tiffany via a friend I called and made an appointment anyhow. Immediately I was relieved I did. She scheduled a 1 on 1 appointment with me to meet at HTCo. 1 on 1 was important to me because although you get some 1 on 1 attention at the big box retailers, it was great to know I would have time to sit down relax and look at stones and pepper her with questions. By this time I had built a decent foundation of what to look for in a stone but as Tiffany said over and over, you really have to see the stone to get the full impact of its quality. The very 1st stone she brought out perfect. Once I found out that the stone was at the top of my budget I wanted to see what else she had. She brought out several other great stones that were within my budget but I couldn't get my mind off of the 1st one. As with most things in life you get what you pay for and I did. Tiffany built a custom setting just how I wanted to fit the incredible stone. I can't thank her enough for her patience with all my questions, some more than once and her attention to detail. She made the experience engaging and fun for me and my now wife to be could not be happier with the ring Tiffany created. First of all, Honolulu Time Co. is, in my opinion, in one of the best locations possible in town. It's right by the Ala Moana shopping center right in the heart of town. I went here for the first time today, bringing in my old watch, and requested a battery replacement. The associate gave my watch a quick look and said okay and even gave me a price quote and said it will be done in about fifteen minutes. I spent my time waiting looking at their assortment of fine timepieces but ultimately ended up waiting about thirty minutes for the battery replacement to be finished. To me this was totally fine, since I could tell they knew what they were doing and I had no problem waiting a little longer than expected. When I was given back my watch, it was even set to the correct time and date. I am very happy with my first experience here. In my experience, the customer service was fast, great and seemingly welcoming. The store is a luxury watch store, and my watch is nowhere near a luxury item but they were happy to help me. The other customers were also greeted with nice, fast, great and welcoming service, so this will definitely be my go-to watch store. And for anyone else wondering; yes there is parking. My wife and I arrived at the front door this past Saturday at 4:55PM, just as they started closing the door. The sign on the door stated that they closed at 5:00PM on Saturdays, but as my wife explained that she just wanted her watch band shortened, the woman inside the store shook her head "No" and continued closing and locking the door. My wife and I stood in the parking lot, looking at each other, not believing that they would close the door on a customer, with 5 minutes for closing.
