My family and I have been patrons of Cream Pan in Tustin for nearly two decades now, even before…read morethe TikTok strawberry croissant craze and even before it opened more locations like in Fountain Valley and Lomita. The quality has just been so utterly consistent. These baked goods truly taste rustic and homemade; I believe the freshness is guaranteed and everything is baked daily. I always buy the shuku pan to make sandwiches my daily lunches and the country bread/sourdough for my avocado toast and breakfasts. The sandwiches made in-house are also recommended especially the chicken katsu and the assorted ham/tuna/egg salad. I like the croquette and egg salad in a bun especially. All of these are savory and flavorful yet subtle. I also recommend any of the pastries including curry pan, melon pan, and of course the strawberry croissants but beyond that I also really like the strawberry banana croissant and blueberry croissant. There is also a selection of drinks made in-house café-style as well as bottled Japanese drinks. The staff are friendly and I really like the space even though it's small. You can find seating outside especially if you avoid rush hours. Of all the three locations, this one is my favorite because it's so rustic and historic and really fits in with the overall vibe and aesthetic of Old Town Tustin and the El Camino Real. There is a kiosk available from 9:30 to 5 pm, where you can now order and pay for their katsu items. I believe the Chicken Katsu Curry was around $17.99. You need to show the receipt when they call your name. I also picked up a couple of sandwiches. The Tuna Butter Roll hits the spot for a quick, comforting lunch. It is packed with creamy tuna, cucumber, and tomato slices--at just around $3.50, it's an incredible value. The Sandwich Box assortment (egg, ham, turkey, tuna) gives you a little bit of everything, making it perfect for a satisfying light lunch on the go. If you're looking for hearty portions at reasonable prices, Cream Pan continues to hit the mark every single time.

We don't know if this is their regular deal or it was for the holiday or what but we were thrilled. We don't live in OC but we're not too far so we can come visit our friends and pick up more bread when whenever we want. So happy we tried the bread. Note the hours before you come (for instance, they're closed on Sundays and Mondays). And note that they seem to usually sell out of certain items by the days end. We've tried a number of different items here now including four of their canelés and their basque cheesecake. The cheesecake was solid. But we really loved their canelés. They are soft/moist on the inside with a nice crunch. And the different flavors really come through. Our favorite is the black sesame - not only is there black sesame peppered on the top but also in the center with a nice black sesame cream. It's so good and delicious. Four canelés cost $16 and thought they were well worth the price. Again, it's so sad to hear that Baked Banhs is closing soon so if you're a fan of canelés or other desserts, recommended to come sooner than later to try this out! We really hope they reopen again elsewhere or do a lot of pop-ups soon.

I am OBSESSED. I was visiting California from New York and my sister and brother-in-law would NOT stop raving about Hood Coffee in Orange... and now I completely understand the obsession. I got the Mazapán coffee and OH. MY. GOD. It was DIVINE. I love when a coffee flavor actually tastes like the thing it's supposed to taste like--and this had the REAL mazapán flavor and those little chunks of goodness that made every sip absolutely perfect. I'm not exaggerating when I say this may have been the best cup of coffee I've ever had in my LIFE. I literally went almost every single day I was visiting California. And because my family knows me too well, my brother-in-law even brought me one on my way to the airport. I sat there and drank the ENTIRE thing before I even walked through TSA. i loveeee Hood Coffee! I've been coming here for about 6-7 months, since they were in Santa Ana. I don't usually love coffee shops - I never find coffee better than what I can make at home, and they're always too bitter or just not what I'm looking for. However, Hood Coffee has me craving their coffee on a daily basis!! I used to come 3-4 times a week! The horchata viet and cookie butter are to die for. I even got my non-coffee loving boyfriend to love their coffee! Their service and kindness never ever goes unnoticed in my eyes. The Hood Coffee in Orange is a hidden gem, and their Vietnamese coffee is on a whole other level! It's hands down the strongest coffee I've ever had -- it'll keep you buzzing for hours. I wish I could visit daily, but since I can't, I make sure to grab a jar of their Vietnamese coffee to keep me going for a few days. The staff here are friendly and hardworking, and the cashiers are sweet and humble, which just adds to the great experience. If you're a coffee lover, you absolutely have to try it. What I noticed right away was how friendly and welcoming their staff is. One of the ladies behind the counter was so sweet and greeted me with a smile. After replacing Dante's, a local staple, Paper Cup had big shoes to fill. However, they have gone above and beyond the last couple of years. The selection is always great, and the seasonal drinks are a fun addition. The owner is always very kind and makes an effort to make you feel welcome. Not to mention the fair pricing compared to some other coffee shops in the area. The Honey Lavender latte is super flavorful, and the espresso is always at the sweet spot - the double shot definitely picks me up in the morning. I have not tried the food, but if you work in the area, this should be your #1 go-to for a quick coffee.
