I got a chance to visit this place on my vacation to Hawaii and it left a satisfying impression on me. Overall, the appearance of the place wasn't really anything to brag about. I was expecting a better presentation. But the hookah was really good (getting the ice pack) perfects your hookah and makes it last longer. While my husband went across the street to 7-eleven, I attempted to use the restroom. BAD IDEA! It was the most disgusting public restroom I've ever encountered and I opted not to use it. While we both enjoy hookah, we couldn't stay long cuz it was so hot in there. Apparently they only have a few vents... and no fans blowing. Employee told us its $25 to smoke then after a hour ur next bowl is free and so on. Sounded too good to be true.Then after we asked for the next bowl after the hour. Smoked for like 30 minutes. Then he charges us half the price for the refill saying we charge $25 per hour... the way he said it in the beginning was completely different from the point of leaving. BYOB!! Tip: Don't forget the cups. And if you don't, 7/11 is across the street, but buy the cold drinks. To purchase a cup, it's $3, w/ ice $4, EACH. Parking was behind the building, and it wasn't hard to park, but the line wrapped around the building. When you check in the front, the man asks for name and number to call once slots become available. It's $20 PER PERSON to "cut" the line, if not, $5 to enter. Our party decided to wait. We drove around to 7/11, came back to see how many were ahead because we were giving in and just going to pay the fee to cut the line, however, when we saw the list in his hand, our name and number were crossed off. We never received a call, text or anything letting us know we were next. So we waited about another 10 minutes to be seated. They will tell you that you can not block the door way as they received a citation for it prior, yet the man at the door didn't have a mask on any.... (That experience is why it lost a star) honestly, I give 3.5/5 stars. Came in, paid for cups with ice, and NEVER received a receipt or the cups with ice until I had to hound down one of the servers. For every tab, they hold onto an ID until you pay at the end to get it back. Now. The quality of coals is amazing. The servers make sure you don't burn out the coals with consistent replacing. The chilled enhancer was a smooth mix to it. It was quite close seating, but hopefully you can get the booth to spread out some. Oh yeah, you can order food from next door, but I didn't, so I can't give you that review. Also, the music was pretty mediocre, but they had World's Toughest Jail from Netflix playing on TV and that was my entertainment. Overall, not an absolute worse experience. read more

So my hubby and I love hookah and found this jewel. We came here two days in a row. It's a nice little spot, a typical hookah lounge. They offer food and non alcoholic beverages. We didn't order any food but did get waters the first time. The second time we realized you can BYOB. So we stopped at a 7/11 and brought drinks. The attendances were super nice and friendly. The bathroom....could use some major cleaning and updating. We asked the attendant to pick flavors for us and they did a great job doing so. We ordered ice hoses both times and it was nice. The music was good and the atmosphere was mellow. It wasn't packed our first night, Monday but a bit busy our second night on Tuesday and we went around 10:15 ish. If I could give this place 0 stars, GOD, I would. There are loads of problems with this place, I'm surprised that it hasn't been investigated and shut down yet. First off, the service is terrible. The owner and supervisors are rude and treats their staff horribly. Like, screaming at them. I watched one of them (not sure which, tbh) yelling at someone. Unprofessional. You don't need to be letting out your anger onto your staff. I also overheard a convo of them complaining about their pay, too. They must be underpaid and overworked. The food is disgusting and the kitchen is always a mess. It smells awful. It's infested too. There's no gloves or hairnets in sight. There are cockroaches EVERYWHERE. Like, a disgusting amount. There is mold growing on the walls and in the couches. The couches are uncomfortable, old and clearly have NEVER been cleaned. The air is musty. Yuck. Enter at your own risk!!! The worst of all? The staff doesn't follow sanitary protocols. The bathrooms are never clean, the floors are disgusting, and THEY DO NOT CLEAN THE HOSES!!!! AGAIN-- THEY DO NOT CLEAN THE HOSES!!!!!! I love hookah lounges, but I never came to one on Oahu since moving here 3 years ago. I first came around 1 AM, but it was packed with 1.5 hour wait time so I decided to come back another time. I came when they opened around 5pm and there was plenty of seating and it's BYOB until around 10pm, but they have mixers for purchase. The staff was extremely friendly and checked on us regularly. We also ordered tea and appetizers from the restaurant next door which were so good. I would recommend coming here before 9pm to avoid crowds and large amount of tourists, but if you're looking for something more fast paced definitely come later in the evening. read more

Being the one poppin hookah lounge on island, we went in for another hookah sesh on a busy Friday night. We parked in the lot behind the shop. When we went in we were kindly greeted, helped and were helped throughout the night. I enjoyed my time more this time around because the staff were super friendly! Now at this location there is planet to of parking, and if you don't want to pay, you can opt for street parking. We loved that the flavors can now be mixed with milk, juice or water. So we checked out Hookahooka last night. Let me preface this by saying I'm not really a smoker meaning no cigars or cigarettes but I have tried something similar called shisha in Thailand a couple years ago. Hookahookah has a small parking lot that holds about 5 cars on the Kona Street side of the building. The place was almost empty except for maybe another 3 or 4 people. Shortly after arriving, someone came over to seat us and I told him that I had never been there before and he was extremely patient, polite and explained everything. I found out later that he was Mike, the owner. We went with his recommendation of flavoring called Ortasma. It's a very laid back place with many booths and outside seating. You may bring in your own food and alcoholic beverages. They sell mixers there. Hookahookah is definitely a very relaxing environment and 1 pipe may be shared by up to 5 people so I can be a pretty cool place to lounge and hang out. I definitely recommend going with friends so you can share the cost and definitely BYOB. read more

Had a decent experience here. There aren't many hookah lounges here but this spot delivered. The arrangements were nice. There was two screens to watch TV on and enjoyed that ESPN was on. The flavors - The lounge had a good selection of flavors available and house mixes. We had guava, ice mint and tropical cool. The flavor lasted great with plenty of vapor for a max of about 15-20 minutes in. Price - $20 per hour. Perks - BYOB before a certain time. While there wasn't much servicing done in the 45 minutes we were there to the coals, I preferred doing this myself however. The staff member there was knowledgeable and very nice. I haven't been here in so long, but I've been a patron for years now. This is just one of the two locations they have (the other is by V Lounge, across Ala Moana & next to the Bank of Hawaii building). This particular one is located on Piikoi Street behind Safeway, past Jack In the Box but before Plato's Closet. You can't miss it.... you can clearly see their sign from afar. Parking is great, from what I recall you can either park in the lot (there are restrictions between specific times) or find street parking. Customer service has always been great. I've been there so often that I've seen many employees come & go. But overall, I've always been provided with professionalism, patience, attentiveness & friendliness from everyone. They have a wide array of flavor choices & if you're unfamiliar with hookah, you can always ask them anything & they'll be happy to explain how it works, or provide suggestions for flavors. I haven't tried much, although I've been meaning to for so long. Usually I'll get the Mint Chocolate Chill or Blueberry Lemon Mint. Oh! & you can always mix flavors too if you want to make your own kind of creation. It's BYOB til midnight- after midnight, all outside drinks are confiscated. They do have Bar Koko attached where you can order food or drinks if you want to. This spot has always been my go to when I want to just relax & unwind, pregame or even sober up.... Yeah they've definitely seen me through so many embarrassing, drunk moments.. so I definitely commend them for putting up with people like me lol. Solid hookah bar with a variety of flavors. You can't smoke anything other than hookah in here, i.e. cigarettes, but ambiance is chill and it's BYOB. Make sure you look over the menu, as the hookah can get expensive the longer you stay and if you purchase ice hoses and the such. I always found street parking so no issues there. Never had an issue with service. The smoking age in Hawaii was recently raised to 21 so I am not sure how this is affecting the bsuiness but either way give it a chance.
