The idea of it being in the lake was good but the amount of bugs that are swarming during evening hours has to be unsanitary. I've sat at the main bar during a Tuesday and the service was less than par. I've sat at the outdoor bar and believe it or not it's worse than the main bar. I didn't think that anyone could mess up a Hooters. The wings came out cold and undercooked. After sending them back, and then later asking for a manager, I figured a manager would actually quickly come out. It did not happen. Eventually, my wife's dinner went cold while waiting for mine. This restaurant has the worst service I have EVER experienced in my life. I walked out once several months ago, after sitting at the bar and being ignored for 15 minutes without even being acknowledged. I thought it was maybe an isolated incident, so I went back with a couple friends. After being seated, at a table within 10 feet of the waitress station at the bar mind you, we sat there for 15 minutes without a single person acknowledging us. I have defended them since they first opened just hoping the service would improve after they worked the bugs out (since its a new location). I will be traveling to Mesquite from now on. The bar is slow, kitchen is even slower, I have been 4 times and still have not had outstanding service. However, I can credit the lady manager with long black hair who comes around to check tables. Table was dirty and the waitress lied and said she whipped it (we watched, she didn't) one order came back bone in instead of bone less, had to redone. Another order came back on a dirty plate, we asked for them to be redone in a clean plate, they just threw the old ones in another dirty plate, my order came back wrong number of wings, wrong flavor, and bone in instead of boneless, got the manager over, he was hesitant to redo my order. Finally my order gets redone. Took an hour and a half to get it to go. End of the day, payed full price for everything, was there for 3.5 hours, half my table ate, half got it to go becc we were waiting on food. A fabulous building. The good review ends there. Management has let their staff and customers down. It was obvious the staff and kitchen were under-trained. Too many annoying infractions to mention....Oh, but the best one was a spilled drink on the wood floor stayed for about 15 minutes. Someone put a wet/slippery sign on it, but didn't clean it up. The amazing part came when an employee fell on the spill. He smiled, got up and walked off. Now to the food...Chicken wings horribly under-cooked. HINT - Appetizers come BEFORE the entrees. 1/2 dozen oysters and salad showed up with the main course. No room on the table guys. It took about 25 minutes for our lone bowl of curly fries to arrive - We use this to quiet the kids down while we wait for our food. Wow, what a view...Lakeside and inside. Nicely done. Horrible service and wait for the food. They must not have enough servers on because there is a whole section of the restaurant with more then 12 tables that are not being sat or utilized. The one and only hostess is quoting over an hour wait on a Saturday night and with zero idea if that is accurate. We finally sat at the bar, and the service there was sub par but cordial, yet our two orders of wings and french fries took over an HOUR to arrive. This location has now been open for a few weeks and should have the kinks worked out. Really love how the inside looks and all. For service it was a little slow but it was busy and since they took a while with our wings they didn't charge us for them. Took us by shock not many places will do that! This place is pretty new so of course there will be some kinks they need to sort out so no reason to be super harsh on them. As a person who has worked in many restaurants including 3 "Breastaurants" I automatically am a harsh critic when it comes to my service. I've worked in the service industry for the last 7 years so when I go out to eat I know what to expect. I went to this hooters location for the first time last night, excited because I had never been. I pulled up and it was beautiful. When I walked through the door the host was standing at the host stand, not a word. I waited a second thinking she would greet me but all she did was look up from the host stand, look at me and then walk off. No "hello" or "welcome" she just looked and walked off. When I found my friend on the patio I sat with them for 20 minutes before the waitress asked me if I wanted anything, the same waitress that I had seen walk past our table 5 times. It took her another 10 minutes to bring me a water after she dropped off another customers beer and 3 drinks to someone who showed up after I did. A little while later we still hadn't seen our waitress when everyone at the table needed another drink, and I later spotted her standing at the inside bar with a big group of servers just talking. If that had been my place of work my manager would have been on our asses so fast someone might have lost a job. My friends and I starting talking about the service, they told me when they arrived, they sat outside on the patio for 30 minutes before someone even acknowledged that they were even there, why they didn't get up and leave is beside me. And this wasn't the first time it's happened. Apparently every time they go to this location the service is consistently terrible. I was appalled. At a place like hooters these girls are on display, their customers are watching their every move and these girls need to realize that. I would say I've never had worse service but that would be a lie but these girls AND their managers need to step up their game. Well, I was really glad to hear that they were opening a new Hooter's in the Rowlett/Garland area. Knowing what to expect (being that I have been to over 20 different Hooter's in the state of Texas) as to quality of the food, the service and the surroundings I was very disappointed! Yes, I know and understand they have only been open for about a month but that is no excuse for the lack of service, length of time it took them to take my order and the worse part was the time it took to get my food. Love Hooters, but this particular Restaurant is the worst. After we were seated it took 20 minutes for a waitress to take our drink order. When we got our food it was wrong and the taste was not up to par with other Hooter restaurants. When we finally got the check it was all wrong, so I assisted the waitress in correcting it and gave her my card to pay. Once she returned I noticed she used my card to pay other checks as well, I asked for a manager and he came back with a "voided slip" showing that he corrected the other charges. He talked to me as if it was my fault his waitress couldn't grasp her job and that maybe it was my fault for catching the other charges. This restaurant is a nightmare of piss-poor service. We waited for 20 minutes to finally be seated at the table that sat empty in front of us the entire time. The hostess kept making the rounds to see what was available and then just wouldnt seat anyone. Once seated, we were greeted right away and got our first round of drinks pretty quickly. In fact, our drink service was the only thing this place got right and in a timely manner. Our appetizer though didn't come out for another 30 minutes. Every time we asked, the waitress said, "Ok let me check!" Our main order, buffalo chicken tacos and a Texas cheese steak sandwich, didn't come for another 45 minutes and didn't come together. A different waitress bright my food and seemed surprised when i asked where the rest of our food was. She said, "Let me check!" and never came back. His cheesesteak came out 20 minutes after my tacos and only after I pointed it out to our original waitress because she never noticed that only one of us had food! He got it a minute later complete with cold fries although the sandwich was good. My chicken tacos had the tiniest pieces of chicken in them that only filled half of each taco. I finally asked the waitress what the hell was going on with this place and she said that the kitchen just doesn't care at all. If it were possible to give this place a negative star rating I would give it a -5 stars!!! I have never been to a worse place to eat having lived in many different states and been in many different countries. My friend and I walked into the restaurant at 7:45 pm on April 7, 2016 (a Thursday night). There was a 20 minute wait for a table, but immediate seating at the outside bar. We decided to sit at the bar. As we sat down a patron leaving told us to, "order now!" He said the wait for food was so bad to order as soon as we sat down. At 7:59 pm we ordered food for the two of us to eat and a to-go order for our wives. We ordered a cold beer and started sipping the beer and waiting for our food. Within minutes we saw bugs in our beer. Then we looked around and saw other customers with napkins over their glasses to keep the bugs out. There were literally thousands of bugs flying around. At one point the bartender ran out screaming because a bug landed in her hair. At 8:40 pm part of the to-go order finally came out. And yes, I mean part of the to-go order, 2 of the three items came out and an additional item we didn't order! We waited another 20 minutes and finally asked the bartender about, not only the rest of the to-go order, BUT our main order. She went in the kitchen, came back and said she could not get an answer????Seriously????? I asked for the manager, and she said he was in the kitchen cooking food and wouldn't come out. Worst Hooters I have ever been to! This hooters is closer for us than the Mesquite location, so we really wanted to give it a chance. Tonight was our 3rd visit and the service was no better than the other 2 times. We stood several minutes before anyone even greeted us and when the hostess finally walked up she seemed flustered and overwhelmed. She asked a waitress if she could seat us at one of the booths in her area and the waitress said no and walked away. She told us the waitress was overwhelmed with the one large table she had(maybe 10 people). We were seated somewhere else and then our waitress takes our drink orders and comes back 15 min later and says sorry I forgot you all haven't ordered. Service was slow and the beer was warm also. We didn't complain, we just decided it would be our last time there. Every time the service has been awful and the staff just look sloppy, unorganized, unfriendly, and inexperienced. Also, they don't have police there and tonight there were drunks screaming racing in the parking lot acting like idiots. Do yourself a favor and go to the Mesquite location instead! read more

I thank you for your response to this issue. I am a local business owner myself and always appreciate any feed back on how my employees are doing. I'm sure this waitress was clever enough to turn this occurrence around to indicate no wrong doing on her part. However, I assure you I don't have the time to write about things such as this if it weren't valid. I do try to let owners know if someone is above average and I appreciate the same. We, (3) couples had met at Hooters prior to a gathering nearby at about 7:00PM. After drinks at the bar my friend insisted on paying. I tried giving the bartender a few $100 dollar bills, one friend already had a tab on his CC and said they couldn't break the $100's. The Blonde bartender smiled and refused to take the additional payment from me. We, (2) couples later returned to the same Hooters around 11:15PM, after our gathering for food and drinks. Our table waitress was friendly but acted a bit irritated about being ask to complete only a parcel correction to our order. That was no big deal to us. At Payment time, again my friend and I were both trying to pay for the entire meal. I gave our small African American waitress $50 and my friend gave her his card. After she charged his card and left the receipt. She started to leave the table and I ask where my $50 was. She gave us a little peek into her pouch and said I have it, for my tip. I thought and hoped she was joking. I had to involve others at the table. Finally I said that is not a tip that was my attempt to pay for all our our late dinners. I actually had to demand she return the $50, to get it back. I got the $10 to hand her and she reached and took the two $20's from the table, saying this is my tip{laughing} as she left. When she didn't return I ask for a manager. No one ever surfaced! I took the $10 to another waitress and told her to find our waitress, tell her this was her tip and the stolen $40 needs to show up before the police have to!. Again, I went searching for a manager with no success. The very nice blonde bartender, again said she didn't know where the manager was! She did say the managers was named Freddy. I told her I was sorry to have to complain, especially to her as she had been nice on both of our visits. There is a clear lack of leadership in this Hooters. The waitress's actions left our entire group feeling that our new neighbors (as your new billboard states) was much more of a worry than a new restaurant to relax and enjoy by land and while on the water. Sorry to have to complain to you or anyone. I also have to wonder how many times this has and does occur? Why wouldn't the managements main focus be concerned with controlling/changing/correcting/monitoring your fragile image? I don't need any money back. I just want you to realize what is going on, just in case you don't already know. If this is the type of business your going to be running, You should have applied for you S.O.B. license, as that is exactly the type of atmosphere we felt we were in. I have alerted the group of 175+ people we joined up with that night, to disregard my suggest that we start moving our bi-monthly get together to Hooters! Maybe the waitress scams an extra $50+per shift?, Maybe it was the manager, that was busy following around on the heels of the little girl/waitress/applicant wearing the black shorts that looked like a T-back? IDK? We've been around it all. We are seasoned couples not easily offended, perhaps amused a bit. But the actions of a (thief) scam/not a misunderstanding, that is not amusing nor are they the type neighbors our area wants in it! Some level of management needs to step in and re-evaluate managements attitude and the personnel representing/presenting your image. I would hope this is helpful and useful for needed improvements.
