When I asked about ingredients because of my allergies, her initial response was to tell me she knew all the allergens without checking and pushed back telling me she would not have to check. I thanked her and told her that I would like her to double check since ingredients can change and I have eaten something I am allergic to before after someone assured me it was safe without them looking. Went here for a late brunch around 1:30 on Saturday with a friend and we were greeted by friendly staff. We must have missed the crowd because there were plenty of tables inside and out. We sat on the patio and enjoyed a nice relaxed meal, starting with drinks. My friend ordered a salty dog, and when the drink came out there definitely was no salt - and it seemed like our server was a bit confused by this pretty common drink when we ordered it. I had the spritz special which was lovely. My salad was beautifully presented, but the dressing was really not good (it reminded me of Kraft bottled dressing) and the amount of tofu was pretty small. On the other hand, the cheesy grits is a generous portion and very tasty. My friend said the biscuit and mushroom gravy was good. I enjoyed my Bloody Mary, the staff were super friendly and seemed very much like they were all friends with each other which is a great vibe to have. The menu has some really fun options like the grilled cheese French toast. I ended up not getting that because I wanted to try it with my husband, and opted for a breakfast bagel of sorts, and some loaded hashbrowns. Both were tasty but crazy dense and I wasn't able to finish even half of either, but win for my husband as he got my leftovers. My one kind of complaint was that the bagel was not easy to eat. I can't believe it took me so long to have breakfast here, and I already can't wait to visit again! For one, their menu is very extensive with plenty of southern brunch options. I wanted to try everything I saw on the menu, so this place will definitely require more than one visit. I had the chicken and waffles and my friend had the country fried steak. I was actually envious of her plate because everything looked delicious, especially her big fluffy biscuit! Luckily, everything tasted delicious as well. This is now one of my favorite go to places for chicken and waffles. Outside of the food, I have to give this place good ratings for having online reservations and being timely with accommodating your reservation times. They also played really good music with a mixture of current hits and pop classics. More importantly, the music wasn't too loud, so I was able to enjoy the ambiance and still have an audible conversation. The only downside for this place is that it's a hassle to park without paying. Oh my Goodness!! What a delicious and delightful experience at Hope! My family treated me to a Birthday Breakfast here and I felt so entirely spoiled! The St Paul location most definitely is popular so be sure to keep a reservation on hand - it was packed with a line when we got there. They have drinks available if you want to get a little tipsy in the morning, otherwise the shmorgasborg of food will definitely keep you happy! The plates are huge and super delicious! There is definitely a maximum of sweet on the sweet dishes. I had the Churro and Banana waffles which were delectable! My family had a stack of pancakes (3 massive ones the size of a frying pan) omelets, biscuits and gravy, and a bacon and egg bagel. Because it was busy, the service was a little backed up, but they did their best to check in. My family also ordered juices, which looks like comes in a small cup, but because of the wait they finished their juices pretty quickly. We also didn't get water until halfway through waiting for food, but all was well in the end. I also tried a lavender vanilla latte on ice and it was delicious and felt so fancy! I would definitely come back here again on an empty stomach. I almost couldn't finish my waffles! Be aware parking is a bit of a challenge in this area so I would taxi or Uber in if you can. My daughter messaged us to tell us she had to take her 1.5 year old to Children's St.Paul Pediatric Hospital in the middle of the night. She was alone at the hospital, tired, and hungry. Overall, this is one of my favorite brunch spots in the twin cities. The dishes were unique and delicious! This was our first time trying hope breakfast bar. They have three locations: St. Paul, St. Louis Park & Eagan. There is only street parking which can be very full at any time in that area. It's free parking at least, no meters. The location is quite small inside but they've added some more seating outside if weather permits. We were seated right away on a Thursday at 11:45 without reservations. They have a wonderful array of coffees and morning alcoholic drinks. I started with a bloody and Vietnamese coffee. The bloody was tasty but really thick on the mix. If you really care for Vietnamese coffee I wouldn't get it from here. It was good but i don't think they used condense milk, and they put what tasted like cinnamon in it. Go to an authentic Vietnamese shop for this kind of coffee and you will know the difference. I liked their unique food choices on the menu. I wasn't feeling adventurous that day, so I just went with the breakfast sandwich. Very simple breakfast with some nice crispy hash browns on the side. $14 for this. My friend got the avocado toast with a poached egg. She said that it was good. Peep the pics! Service was fast, I wouldn't say friend though. I felt a little pressured at times but nothings perfect. If you don't like a challenge with parking I would check out their other locations! Definitely a trendy and pretty brunch place! Great location in downtown St. Paul so you can walk around afterward. There's quite a bit of street parking (free and paid) around which is nice. You absolutely need a reservation to go here on the weekends. I made one 2 weeks ahead of time to get a good time slot. People that came in as walk ins at the same time as us were still waiting an hour and a half later as we left. The Midwest burger was incredible-- the bacon jam made it. The pork belly biscuit was good but the grits are super rich so it was very filling. I tried the banana iced coffee and wouldn't recommend, it tasted like an unsweetened banana milkshake. Hunting for a good brunch on Father's Day and this place came up on Yelp - and boy am I glad it did! Truthfully we should have planned better and made reservations somewhere but we decided to pop on over here and see if they had room for us, and it was just a 15-20 minute wait, which was a huge win on such a day. We made reservations for 8:15 and when we got there, they wanted to seat us outside on a blocked off street they use for seating. It was 40 degrees. There were heaters they could turn on but when you don't have a jacket, I don't know that would have been enough?? Thankfully there was room at the bar inside. The menu was very fun. Hope is exactly what we have been looking for in the heater cities. A casual spot off Leech and grand in Duluth lies a place with home cooked breakfast that is absolutely delicious with every bite. The decor is warm and inviting, the place is packed with people, reservations are a must unless you like long waits. We came for our anniversary breakfast and had a great seat upstairs in this awesome old building overlooking the area. It's a cool setup with street seating, indoor open air seating or upstairs seating as well as the bar. Their Coffee is good - a must Chicken fried steak, egg biscuit sandwich and cauliflower plates all amazing. The cakes and rolls are delicious and the serving staff is cool. Added bonus they have a philanthropic bent towards being a place that is for the city not just in it and has a desire to bring people together.... Win win.
