Went here for a date night with the hubs. Great place! Love the atmosphere and the food. It was kind of like red robin type of atmosphere but the prices were a tad bit higher than red robs. This place is great. The staff is always friendly and attentive. The veggie burger was very flavorful and moist. Other places often serve very dry black bean burgers. I ordered the potatoe chips by mistake last time and was very pleasantly surprised. I love the icy drops as well. Up from California visiting family in Lakeland town center area. My sister and I went to hop jacks. Our server Kayla was absolutely delightful and she showed us her new shiny engagement ring. She suggested many things on the menu my sister Kim got the Mediterranean salad which was delicious, but I ordered the fiesta mac & cheese and it was probably one of the best things I've ever eaten ! It was so good my sister and I had a little sword fight with forks because she kept trying to steal my lunch. Jaime is the kitchen manager and he was very flattered by our comments regarding the quality and presentation of our food . I've been here a few times and each adventure is different but the ending results are the same. Under staffed and missed orders. The first bad experience was when we called in an order of street tacos and order of hot wings for pick up. I went in 20 mins later the Alex the one who took my order never forward it to kitchen. So we waited another 20 mins for them. I will say that they gave us the hot wings for free due to mistake. Second time was during the summer on a hot day. We went in and sat in the bar only to find out the AC was broken (no fault on hop jacks) the issue was that we placed an order for two beers and after 15 to 20 mins we left because our server never returned. Never got our drinks. Last experience was last night. We went for dinner at 630 yes it was busy. Anyway we got our drinks placed our order and the server was nice. She brought out the order of hot wings and we never recieved the salad and burger we ordered. She came by twice to see if we wanted another drink which we declined but ask about the food order. The service was SO SLOW. We ordered 2 burgers, one with the chips and one with a salad, and it took an eternity. The server never came to check on us as we were eating and it seemed our food had been sitting for a while before we actually got it. The chips were chewy and the burgers were lukewarm at best. When the customers walk through the doors they feel like they have been transported into a modern version of the "Cheers" bar it has metal railings separating the bar from the restaurant and the furniture is wood with metal finishings a classic modern look. Hop Jacks is a local family-style restaurant that has multiple locations in Washington, including Bonney Lake, Auburn, Silverdale and Lynwood to name a few. There is a nice-sized bar area with multiple televisions playing the local sports teams as well as more TV's around the restaurant so that everyone can see the game. Hop Jacks was established in Bonney Lake in 2009 and has grown into 9 locations throughout Washington. The type of food that they serve is classic American. They have burgers and fries, sandwiches, wraps and some of the best mac and cheese in town. Throughout my meal at Hop Jacks I tried two different appetizers, three side dishes, two main entrees and three different beer options. I started off my meal with a locally brewed beer called Irish Death, brewed by Iron Horse Brewery in Ellensburg, WA. This beer had a silky finish, mellow hops flavor and a dark chestnut color. The meal started off great with the first appetizer of fried zucchini which is one of the restaurants top sellers. On the menu it is listed as "Tempura Veggies" and you have the option of zucchini or pickles (Hop Jacks). They had a nice crunch as well as a nice dusting of their house made seasoning salt, it is served with a side of their homemade ranch dipping sauce which has a great flavor of garlic and lemon and tops the flavor you can get in any bottle you can get in any grocery store. The other appetizer that was served was their "Street Tacos." This is a classic steak taco served with fresh salsa, cilantro and a grilled steak (Hop Jacks). The overall flavor of the tacos takes you to a local taco stand in Mexico. They had a nice spice seasoning on the steak and the salsa was made with the freshest tomatoes available and had a welcoming jalapeño kick at the end. The appetizers went perfectly with the first beer selection. The next beer selection that was served was the Giant Pacific Octopus which is brewed by Narrows Brewing Co. located out of Tacoma,WA. This beer had a vigorous hops flavor, light cashew finish and a golden color. The main entrees were served next, the selection was hard to make because they have so many options on their menu that sounded delicious. It was narrowed down to two options, the first one was the Big Bad BBQ Burger which was served with a side order of fries that were seasoned and cooked to perfection with their house made seasoning salt. The burger was extremely messy which is to be expected when ordering because it is described like a pulled pork sandwich would be. It is served with a healthy helping of BBQ sauce and cole slaw on a kaiser roll. The beef had a nice flavor with a generous amount of seasoning. The next entree that was served was the Guacamole Burger which was served with the house made potato chips which were one of my least favorite things that I tasted because they were under seasoned but they had a nice crunch and were also served with the house made ranch sauce for dipping, which was defiantly needed. The burger was seasoned nicely and cooked well and had a just off the backyard grill flavor with a light hint of hickory smoke. The guacamole was nicely done and added to the complexity of flavors that were going on in your mouth as you ate it. There was another side that I tasted their "Tots" these are basic tater tots that have been seasoned with their house seasoning salt they were good but I would not say they were my top choice, which was hands down the fries. These were just a couple options that Hop Jacks offers on their menu, their selection of burgers is extensive and has options for everyone. They also have the option on all the burgers to do them in ground turkey meat for the customers who do not eat beef or just prefer the taste of ground turkey. The service at Hop Jacks was friendly and welcoming, the waiter was always asking if we were doing ok, not being rude or overbearing but just checking up making sure that we didn't need anything. He was also very knowledgeable about the beer selections and could describe what they tasted like and helped make the options more understandable. The meal was finished with the third and final beer selection which was a dark oak colored beer called Steep and Deep, brewed by Harmon Brewing Co. out of Tacoma, WA. This beer had a forceful hops flavor with a bitter kick in the mouth at the finish. This was a strong beer and was a nice way to finish the meal. I would recommend going to Hop Jacks to anyone. It is a comfortable restaurant and you feel right at home like you are watching the game around your coffee table at your house. read more

Was in tonight about 7pm it was so hot in there the airconditoner was not on it was 90 outside and felt like 100 inside the server was really nice she said that the owners were trying to save money so they cut down the air conditioning it was really packed and very uncomfortable I told her that the owners need to start using there heads customers won't come back if they aren't treated like they matter. Also on my bill there was a charge for kitchen staff that were not tipped you charged me 2%for untipped employees my question is why do I have to pay a fee so you can pay your employees that is a cost that you as a owner needs to pay. Adding that to my bill was a really awful thing to see shows me you are only out to rip off the customers that cost to pay your employees should not be added to the guest check that should be added into your costs I ran restaurants for 35 years and that is not right. We customers pay your high price for food you should have enough money to pay your employees you really need to 're think your actions I find it very difficult to pay I felt bad for the server trying to explain to me why I was being charged that fee. First off, we had a large party and the staff accommodated us nicely. Our server, Patrick Parks, was awesome! Really nice guy, great sense of humor, and provided excellently service! This is probably my first and last time coming here for the food. It wasn't as appealing as it's advertised. I wanted to check this place out because I read numerous reviews about it and checked all the photos and it looked really good, but seeing really is different than experiencing it for yourself. We started our dinner with the Mozzarella Sticks & Nachos appetizers. Nachos were very greasy, no flavoring, was as if they placed one layer flat of chips and just shredded cheese and added chicken on it and put it in the microwave. No flavor at all. The cheese sticks were as expected, you can't mess up cheese sticks. Then our drinks came in and it was all Iced up to the top and by my second sip, my drink was done. And it was a HUGE glass. I ordered the patty melt and it was all onion, all grease, no flavor. Onion rings were more on the burnt crunchy side, and others in our dinner party ordered the chicken wrap and didn't even finish the first wrap and had a full plate left over. It was not good. And the chicken tenders is a poor excuse. Nasty, store bought and looks more like chicken crumbs. Please upgrade your Menu, hire a new chef, something. And the atmosphere was really sad. On a Friday Nite, you would think it would be more on point. It's too confined, like they tried to cramp as many tables and chairs they could in such a small venue. They should just turn this place into a bar since all they do is recommend Alcohol drinks and their Bar Area is much larger than their dining area. But I don't drink so I can care less for a bar.
