We came here for happy hour last week and were pleasantly surprised. Our waitress Capri had some great suggestions for cocktails and apps and was very friendly and funny the whole time. I expected Applebees type food but it was actually definitely superior! Especially the tempura asparagus! Excellent menu and food to go with it. And in the current environment it's worth mentioning that they have the best, most comprehensive, and most detailed on-line ordering software I've ever used. I should also mention that a recent on-line order failed to be recorded correctly. (A problem that may have been user error on my part.) Another flop in the Harbor! My meal consisted of "boneless chicken wings" and a side salad. Chicken came out warm, they weren't that busy not sure why that happened. My salad arrived and sitting on top were moldy mushy cucumbers. I quickly sent that back and declined a new salad. Best part about my meal was my vodka tonic. The service was decent, server was not the friendliest but she made good on the moldy food and took off the salad and my husbands sandwich. I didn't try it so I won't give an opinion on it. read more

The Gig Harbor restaurant just opened and it's as good as Silverdale. The food is good, well priced and filling. The selection of beers on tap is great and the cocktails are fun and tasty. They're open late, always friendly and the wait isn't ever too long. The staff is friendly and accommodating for kids and my elderly parents. read more

This was an amazing experience. a great location, cute decorations, and a very nice staff!! we came here during rush hour, so it was really busy and they told us it may take a while. some of us had to go to a movie soon so they told us they would move our order up so that we get it soon. the waitress then said if the food doesn't come in time then she will take it off our bill, and when it didn't come, she didn't just take it off our bill but she also gave us a $40 gift card!! then we had to wait about an hour for our food to come and she felt so bad we got all our food free!! we also got a free dessert. i love this place and would definitely recommend and am totally coming back! read more

I was in Gig Harbor on a business trip and stopped in for dinner. This is a pretty typical brewpub type of a place but the service was excellent in the food was good. they've got a decent selection of draft beers, a fairly diverse menu although not very many healthy options, and the place is comfortable. if you're just looking for a quick bite and a place to grab a beer and a sandwich this is definitely worth trying read more

This restaurant had potential but fell short in my opinion. Design is too open and crowded and noisy. Wait staff seem to walk around confused. But most importantly the food was only okay ... at best. I have been twice this week so I feel I can make a actual review. First time I came with a friend. Service took forever to come take our order even to get drinks. Second time was the same. We were seated for about ten minutes before anyone came to take our drink order. The food was ok nothing special. The drinks were very very good. That is definitely worth a star. Second time came with my family. Again took forever to get our drinks started even. I ordered the nachos and was so disappointed when they came out smothered in tomatoes and hardly any cheese. There was much left to be desired. Then we ordered the donuts. They smelled so burnt and weren't that great. The waitress was awesome and very nice. Took the donuts off. I know this is a new restaurant and they are working out kinks but there is a lot of room for improvement. Our first visit to this restaurant started out rough. We waited and waited almost 10 minutes before anyone showed up at our table. We were going to leave. As we were headed out the door, the manager asked us to stay and said he would comp our meal. Not only did he do that, but he gave us a gift card for our next visit. He also brought fries to our table as we waited for food because he guessed (correctly) that my kids were hungry. The food was really good and the service was great. Nice recovery, Hop Jack's! Good food, good drinks, however not impressed with our service and towards the end we left irritated and confused..My boyfriend, best friend, and myself got there before our other friends showed up and we each finished a drink while waiting. When the rest of our party showed up we order one more drink and the guys had ONE beer each. Our waiter later then said she might have to cut us off. We all got very irritated and confused for we were not being obnoxious and did not have that much to drink. She began asking who was driving and all this stuff..... I found this inappropriate considering she never offered us water and could have atleast said if we were gonna get another drink we should get a bite with it as well. read more

SO FREAKING GOOD. Seriously. Our family LOVES this restaurant. Why? SO many reasons. First, the tater tots. That alone is enough. Add chipotle mayo to dip them in and you too will be in love. My daughter and I always get the Tomato Basil Grilled Cheese because it's insanely yummy.... gooey white cheese, tomatoes, basil, and balsamic glaze grilled to perfection. I can't ever order anything else because I can't miss out on a chance to eat it! My son gets the Spicy Chicken Grilled Cheese - also WOW!- and my other son LOVES the Chicken Noodle Soup. He says it's probably his favorite and he is a total chicken noodle connoisseur. My husband likes the Chicken Tenders and especially loves the boneless chicken wings from the bar menu with a side salad. The Caprese Flatbread appetizer is also fantastic. You really can't go wrong. But trust me on the tots and chipotle mayo. They are to die for. They have outdoor seating available. The place is cute and clean. Staff are friendly. Service is good. It really is a great neighborhood restaurant. My kids are embarrassed that we eat there just about every week, but we can't help it. It's that good. read more

First and last visit here. Exemplifies the reason I avoid chain restaurants. The food and couldn't have been more blah. The onion rings had been frozen, the burger had no flavor. Generic cookie-cutter strip mall type of establishment. Just another place that is here just to do business not to actually make good food. I was able to dine at Hop Jack's the first week they opened. I had no idea what to expect as I wasn't familiar with this restaurant. I was very, very happy with my first visit. The server and all the staff were extremely attentive. I ordered a burger and fries. The food came steaming hot in under 15 minutes. The server would circle past us throughout our visit. I will give the food a solid B, customer service an A, and the overall ambiance was an A. I don't dine out a lot but I will definitely be back! Thanks Hop Jack's! read more

I would like to dedicate my first Yelp review to this establishment and it's more-than-hospitable employees. I had simply gotten off of work to come home and had made the spontaneous decision to stop in and grab a burger. I hadn't called in the order or ordered online. I went in and ordered a "western burger" with tater-tots to go and the food came out within 5 minutes of me ordering it. I was astonished at how many waiters and waitresses checked in on me to make sure that I "had been helped." within the minimal time interval that I had been waiting. I grant this place 5 stars due to my love for the flavor of the food, the hospitable service, and the overall positive vibe that this restaurant is executing for its customers. On my way out I had forgotten to order a lemonade and so I notified a nearby waitress named "Erin" (I believe that's how it's spelt) and let her know I would be perfectly comfortable waiting for the drink if she was busy because I had forgotten to order it. She assured me that she would have it right out for me due to it being the last thing I was waiting for, since my food was done. I observed her kind and helpful nature when she helped me that quickly, and on her way back to the bar area she assured all of her customers didn't need anything as well. Erin is an excellent addition to this establishment and is 2/3 of the reason my review is as high as it is. I will be returning here more often and am proud to say that this is my favorite restaurant around right now. Thank you Erin! read more

We have been coming to Hop n Drops in Gig Harbor every Sunday at 10:00AM since they opened. Until they seemed to have lost there bartenders the service was good with the exception of a couple of times we were forgot about or they got our orders wrong. We again stop in this Sunday at 10:00 on 9/15/2019, We should not have done this since the Sea Hawks were playing at this time and it seems like all the staff we so busy getting all these people their booze( which it seems the waitresses have to make now) that we got the worst service we had received at this location. Coffee took ten minutes to get our first cup, the waitress took our order, we had to ask for coffee refills, when we could get someone's attention. We asked for a butter knife instead of the steak knife and never got one, I ordered the French toast and did not get any syrup, by the time I could get someone's attention again for getting syrup the French toast on my plate was cold, so I asked for another order and they brought out a to-go order. It seems that since this place was packed with people for the Sea Hawks game and the booze was flowing for these people anybody that was just there for food did not seem to matter. No one ever came over and asked how our meal was or if we needed anything, but I did notice that any table that were ordering bar drinks got to see and talked to the waitress numerous times. I think this establishment needs to hire dedicated bartenders( even for the morning shift) since they start serving cocktails so early and let the waitresses do the job of food service and not booze service. This will be the 4th restaurant in Gig Harbor that we have stopped going to because they don't seem to care about the people that return week after week and the only thing that seems to concern them is how much booze they are selling. read more
