While the exterior is nothing to write home about (a tired, past-it strip mall), this place is hopping when it comes to food. The door dash drivers never stopped coming in. Great shrimp parang curry! Careful service, but the interior could do with an upgrade too.

Nice place to eat. Be living over here for years and this my first time coming. The server guy is fast and attentive. Food hot and fresh

We hadn't been here in years so my mom asked to go for mother's Day because it's so far from us now. Well worth the hour drive though! The parking lot is not huge but enough for these shops in the strip The food here is so good. I don't remember the last time I came but I'd wager it's improved! We had 6 in our group but my mom wanted to try everything so we had a ton of leftovers I loved their som tum lao with crabs! If you like spicy, it's a must try! I got it spicy and they actually gave it spicy unlike many other places We also got pork & beef jerky, sticky rice, nam tok (beef salad), sausage, fried rice, pad Thai, chicken wings, larb moo and maybe more. I didn't try everything but the table was filled to the brim Everything i tasted was delicious & well cooked! The pad Thai sauce was so flavorful and perfectly chewy noodles! Definitely give this place a try; it's worth the drive!

Yum, yum, yum! You can order anything you have a taste for at Hot Cafe - pho, fried rice, mussels, soup, edamame, spring rolls, duck, fried chicken, Laos sausage, etc. I'm not sure if it's family owned but that's how it felt (in a positive, intimate way). Food came out hot and delicious. The servers were nice and checked in, but everything you would need is already at the table (soy sauce, fish sauce, white pepper, chopsticks). Must try the Thai coffee.

This is one of our go to spot for takeout. We decided to sit down and have dinner instead of taking it to go. The space is larger than it looks. Very clean and they decorate for the holidays. At the time we were the only ones there and I think more people get take out but it's a nice place to sit and eat. The service was very quick and friendly. We got spring rolls, chicken wings and basil fried rice. My son always ask for Thai tea. This is a very solid place. You can't go wrong here

IYKYK. Hot Café is a staple. Every time I land at ATL, I make a stop at Hot Café because I know anything I order is going to hit. My go to order is the LAO COMBO which is a platter that comes with Lao-style papaya salad, chicken wings, and Lao sausage. We tear this thing up and it doesn't stand a chance. Another go-to item is their PAD KEE MAOW. So many times, I want to try other items, but I always just go to my tried and true. I can't recommend this place enough and I will always be a returning patron!

The viral video of Lovely Mimi on TikTok brought me in for what I had hoped to be the fried rice of my dreams. Sadly it was not. On the video, the food looked SO good. I decided to make my way to the south side to try it out on a Saturday afternoon. It's a hole in the wall and from the reviews, it's been around for a while. I placed my order and waited about 15 minutes. I ordered the combination fried rice medium spicy, minus the imitation crab and squid. The total was $24 and the portion sized was generous. When I opened the box, I was surprised to see that it didn't look as flavorful as what I saw on TikTok. The dish contained chicken, shrimp, beef and pork. None of the protein seemed seasoned and the rice overall was lackluster. Some of the meat was tough as well. While I received great customer service from the gentleman taking my order, I can't see myself returning.

Big and delicious portions every time. I love it. My favorite dish so far has been the duck fried rice. Their signage is always funny, too (the candy dish in front says not to be greedy). The service is fast and the employees are personable. They play pretty good music when I go, as well. I usually go for take out, but it's also quaint and clean so dining in isn't a bad option either. And there's plenty of parking in their lot! I've never had an issue with that.

I keep going back!! The pho is great and so is the drunken noodles & pad Thai. Service is great and place is like home. Highly recommend!!

I came to ATL for work and I wanted some Lao foods. So I found this place on grubhub and order the Khao piek, keo jerky and sticky rice for $48. Got my order and it was good. The only disappointment is that they did not include any chili oil or sauce. I have put it in the special instruction too. Server should have looked at the order better next time. Don't think I would order to go again.

I ordered the Basil Fried Rice with shrimp and it was 500000000 damn good! Seasoned well, loads of veggies and big shrimp! The portion that was given was HUGE...I couldn't make a dent in it! Next time I'm in town...Hot Cafe will be my FIRST stop!

Food was nothing short of AMAZING! The service was great, I brought my laptop to work and they quickly went to get WiFi without me even having to ask. The atmosphere was full of great smells. I'll be back for this exact meal.

I hate to sound like but this is…read morea restaurant you'd like only if you've never ventured to NE ATL/BuHi/Norcross for the real bangers. It gives... tourist trap? I have never in my life had Americanized Thai food (or at least been conscience of it) but this tasted every bit of that. Not a single Thai national or descendant cooking or dining in here... I should have slid out the door upon noticing this but we were HONGRY and this place was walking distance. I appreciate the big portions to help alleviate the hunger, but the food going down wasn't even close to a real Thai experience. And the general ambience was definitely off. It's unclear whether this is a casual to-go spot or a sit-down spot or a bar. The service here was confusing. You have to order drinks separately from your food, for one. Secondly, it took a solid 10 minutes for a bartender to walk behind the bar and begrudgingly explain to me what they have available. I would have ordered more but her attitude made me close the tab after one beer. We didn't get served water until after we received our food, a solid 15-20 min after being in the restaurant. It generally felt like no one wanted to be there, and the staff were just moving independently to complete tasks instead of creating a dining experience *together*. There was not a smile from a single person I interacted with. I'd most likely not return purely because the dining experience is just plain out uncomfortable. On to the food. Mostly oil and noodles except for the papaya salad, which was... okay. Again, big portions. Nice heat. But just okay. The whole cherry tomatoes on top were a little weird and screamed laziness. The tofu kee mao was... okay. Same for the chicken pad thai. Lots of oil. This food made us feel pretty tired after eating it, which I've rarely experienced eating Thai cuisine. And they were very, very stingy with the protein. My husband counted 4-5 little slivers of chicken and hella noodles. The same was true for my tofu dish. I mean... it's tofu y'all. Cheap. But I can imagine they have to cut these corners because there were about 8 staff members running around in a small space with only a few customers in for happy hour. They do have HH deals on drinks depending on the day, but I found the drinks to be overpriced and not worth it. Especially the beer. And a $10 non-alcoholic cocktail is wild imo, especially for the scanty area this area is in. They are certainly milking the fact that they are in eyeshot of the Mercedes Benz stadium. The inside is beautiful and very ~trendy~ and honestly that tells me exactly where the focus is. I'd rate this a 2, but I'm adding a star for the spotless restrooms.

Everyone appeared to be a little distracted, tired or standoffish. It was much different than past experiences. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. I have never had a bad meal here. The only thing was our main entrees were spicier than we thought they would be. The fried rice was really good, especially with the sauce we requested on the side that kind of resembled yum yum sauce. It was absolutely delicious! Unfortunately, the drunken noodles weren't what I expected. They were very dry, and the noodles were sticking together, which made the dish difficult to enjoy. I decided to take it home and reheat it later in hopes that it would be better. Our meals also came with spring rolls and crab rolls, and both were delicious. It's rich, flavorful, filling, and definitely not the fried rice you're getting from your neighborhood takeout spot. The Crispy Beef is another one I'd recommend. It's glazed, crispy, sweet, savory, and has enough flavor going on that you understand pretty quickly why people keep ordering it. The restaurant itself is intimate and a little moody with a lively energy. It's not a huge space, so when it fills up, it FILLS up. I would definitely make a reservation rather than showing up and hoping for the best. Service is also one of the reasons I enjoy Poor Calvin's. I can only give so much of a perspective on it but even though that is said I still had a good experience . The place itself is bigger than what you would see from the outside and it's decorated very well so it would be good for maybe an intimate night or a close friend night or a date night kind of situation. It's not something you would do for a sports bar kind of vibe . In the location you already know that you have to worry about paying for parking so just keep that in mind. The parking in the structure on the other side of the building isn't so bad so you could easily just park someplace else and walk across the bridge. It's not going to break the pocket lol . The bar was very clean and the service there was friendly and I have no complaints about that . Chili honey old fashioned - this was a really good and flavorful drink. I like the way they mixed the flavor profiles together and it really helps it out. It's not as spicy or as peppery as I would have liked but that's probably by design. You have more sweet than it does spicy because it's supposed to be an old-fashioned at the end of the day . That indoor and outdoor seating. So if it's a good day, you could at least sit outside on the patio area and a lot of that area is indoor and outdoor so you have plenty of options as far as that goes. The restaurant is really nice and very clean and it will definitely get my attention because I saw some food there that looked like I can eat lol. I got all positive vibes so I have no complaints.

The food, however, was a bit hit-or-miss for me. Most of the dishes were a little too heavily seasoned, too sweet, or too salty for my taste. My boyfriend enjoyed the food more than I did. My palate tends to lean toward lighter flavors. The food was good overall. Nothing to complain about, but nothing really stood out as amazing either. We had: - Strawberry Creamy Mocktail: a bit too syrupy for me. - Black Mussels: the mussels were a little dry and didn't taste very fresh. I would still recommend giving it a try, especially for the atmosphere and excellent service.
