Hot Java located right on the corner of junipero & broadway. There's no parking but Bixby park is right across the street. I tried the iced caramel macchiato with oat milk & whip cream (I think there's an extra charge for whip cream) but don't quote me on that. The restroom was not busy at all considering it was busy inside the lobby. It's pretty big on the inside. My drink was so delicious that my husband drank most of it so next time he is getting his own. Nice and friendly service all around. Will be back :) read more

I lived right by here and have been a few times. The people are always quite nice and the space itself is clean and cozy. The coffee is ass though. Like it's just bad. As a nescafé drinker I am notttt picky. Very rarely do i decide to spend more than 5 dollars on a drink.. (let alone $8+ for a medium coffee which is sort of ridiculous in its own way). Got a speciality Flaming Mocha coffee. Didn't taste like coffee, or mocha, or the supposed flame (cayanne pepper)... just straight up watered down milk. I usually stick to the basics if i decide to buy a coffee but even then they tend to disappoint. I'm more confused than anything about how a nice space like this makes such bad coffee. read more

And this is a really great place to study or meet people. It reminds me of bhutan or Nepal and really calming. Baristas are sometimes friendly sometimes not, nothing to really write home about in either direction. The coffee and espresso are starbucks level average (and starbucks prices for not great coffee). Nothing special, just your classic coffee and pastry's. Danishes used to be a lot better, but lately I feel like they went down in quality. This is more of an all rounder issue than anything on their part though. They love dogs at this place, so if you have a furry friend be sure to bring them. So I've been trying every coffee shop in Long Beach. This one is located on Broadway and junioeto Ave near the beach and the park. There's street parking and free wifi. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They got table, counters, and couches. They got a couple of outlets. They use more natural lighting and the door is open, so if you have any allergies, this might not be the place for you. I love that they allow dogs in here and have treats for them. I noticed the crowd in here is more older. They are LGBTQ friendly business. The staff is pretty efficient. I love how they have local art where you can buy and follow the artist. I do like how they close later than the other shops at 6 pm. It did start getting business around 4 pm but during lunchtime it was pretty empty. Also, the pastries are gone in the display. The price for coffee is pretty affordable for about $5ish. I got the iced Mexican mocha as they recommended that being 1 of the most popular item. It's pretty light. Why they lost points is that this cough needs more shots because I'm struggling to stay awake and I keep yawning, so there's not enough caffeine, which rarely happens to me. The other deduction is that the bathroom floor is dirty and needs to be mopped. If there was an option, I would have given this place a 3.8. read more

It's like the opposite of lala land type coffee shops, very old school Long Beach. The coffee is so good, my personal favorite is the Mexican mocha but today I had a dirty chai with coconut milk. This is my neighborhood coffeeshop and I really appreciate this spot. I have come here many times for treats, coffee, and bagels. My go to drink is a caffeinated-extra red eye (either hot or iced) and I do love their danishes. They are so sweet and delicious; love the cheese danish. All the staff are always so sweet here and the indoor space and outdoor patio is easy to work from. Love everything here, from the casual atmosphere, the muffins/breakfast food, and of course ... the coffee! Everything is ready fairly quickly, and I find myself enjoying speaking to the baristas (who all genuinely seem happy to be working there)! I have found my favvvvorite little treat drink here recently, having been an an on and off visitor of Hot Java for a year or so now. I am not a huge coffee buff but have been pining for the Java Blasts (think coffee slushie!) almost daily now because they remind me of a special drink from a spot back home! I love getting the vanilla chai with almond milk and you have the option to add espresso shots or cold brew, but I always opt out. I also really love the bagels and cream cheese here every once and a while for breakfast! They have a large menu of coffee and tea drinks, juices and lemonades too, specials are a lot of fun and a few light bites and snacks as well. They are LGBTQ friendly, close to the park and beach and have indoor and outdoor seating, and a fireplace! Very work space friendly as well although I recently noticed they knixed the couches in place of more tables. I always walk here but there is street parking avail! A lovely little neighborhood cafe near a park in Long Beach! I love how spacious and homey this cafe feels; they have couches and plenty of seating. Hot Java is ideal for large groups and if you want to do work in a group. The last time I came here, a group of eight people was at a table talking for a meeting. I also enjoy how they have a big screen to go outside, where you can feel a fresh breeze inside! It gets a little chillayy so bring a jacket during the Winter/Spring! The coffee here isn't the best, their Skinny Vanilla Latte is their most popular latte and it's okay. Instead, I order an iced oat latte and that does the job. Looking at their food selection, they always seem to run out every time I go! I understand I may get there later in the afternoon, but the food I order is frozen and not fresh. Great location. Came in for some coffee and pastries but left unsatisfied. The inside seating was spacious however the customer service and coffee/pastries were mid. The baristas need some training on greeting customers and making customers feel welcomed. The croissant was stale... the coffee we ordered were incorrect from a misunderstanding but the barista was very sweet about it. One added star for that. Unfortunately, I wouldn't return. I've been here a few times and it has been a good experience until my latest visit. Coffee was good, I came to study with my friend and the tables were sticky so we had to ask for a rag to clean it. Also asked for cookies to be warmed up & they came out burnt. The environment was friendly however the only people talking in there was the two cashiers. One of them was sweet and the other seemed bothered when I asked for a rag. Restroom had no soap. I left one of my belongings and tried calling but their phone is out of service. I'm really impressed by their food menu. Have had the opportunity to visit on a few Sundays and their brunch menu is very good. My go to is the breakfast tacos, which comes with a choice of black beans, fruit cup, or 3 slices of bacon for a side. Bacon medium, please. Also have had a panini and the avocado toast. Recommend the avocado toast over the panani, though the chipotle turkey bacon panini does come with a decent amount of meat. Coffee is ok, though I much prefer Lord Windsor. He finishes his conversation then proceeds to ignore me and hurriedly walk off without acknowledgment or to say another person will help me.
