After a long night out, I decided to have a hair of the dog the next day with dinner at an AYCE Hot Pot. Opted for drank a small amount of Soju to ease my hangover. Hot Pot Buffet can be found in Boston's Chinatown. You will find a good buffet for hot pot serving a lot of options. We got all you can eat for four people and a bottle of Soju. Was seated on the ground floor of the restaurant, it was a steady busy Friday night. One of the girls in the group suggested of an amazing hot pot place that exceeded all my expectations! The all-you-can-eat concept provides a fantastic variety of fresh ingredients, ensuring there's something for every palate. The broth options were flavorful. I chose the House Broth, while the service is good. What sets this place apart is the unbeatable price for the quality of the dining experience. It's a must-try for hot pot enthusiasts seeking a delightful and budget-friendly meal. They are also open very late!

The place looked super sketch on the outside. Inside wasn't much better LOL. Downstairs for individuals or couples and larger groups eat upstairs. You use a paper menu and pencil to mark what you want. We chose assorted veggies, seafood, and meats to try. The waiters bring them out on plates portioned for the number of people in your party. There were a selection of Chinese style broths. We didn't do anything adventurous and chose the chicken broth (they also had black chicken broth, herbal broth, etc). The broth did have good flavor. Their pricing is weird. It was 31.99 per person for dinner and $4 extra for the broth. You can tell that the meats and most of the seafood were all frozen. That's ok but the quality was definitely lower. Clams were surprisingly higher quality and fresh. They were gigantic too! Waiters were responsive when we asked for more food.

Amazing experience with affordable prices! Service is ok, but if you look past that and don't mind waiting. Once you're all set up with your brother and food everything is fresh and amazing! And of course you'll leave rolling out of there. Fresh seafood and delicious broths

Came here for dinner while wandering around Chinatown. We got promptly seated upon arrival and the service was friendly. Like a lot of AYCE buffets, it's pretty straightforward. They give you paper and pen to check off what you would like. We got a variety of different things. I must say that I was kind of surprised when we got the things we checked off since it was a little misleading. The sausage that they had in the menu were actually hot dogs. There weren't a lot of sauce options but it was good enough for my friend and me. There's unlimited meat, veggies, and seafood and at that price point, it's definitely an amazing value. The food won't be super high quality for an AYCE buffet but for a casual dinner with friends is great. This place definitely fit the bill of what we were looking for -- an inexpensive yet filling dinner.

I came in with a small group and I was seated right away. I was about to pick 2 broths and order from a menu. The sauces were pre made. I recommend coming here with a group.

This is a really solid place to come to for hot pot. We usually get the house broth and the spicy broth, which is really flavorful. It's all you can eat, so you can check off whatever you want and they'll bring it to the table. I usually get a couple kinds of steak, crab legs, shrimp, salmon, white fish, quail eggs, an assortment of veggies (bok choy, chinese broccoli, mushrooms, etc), and white rice. They have MANY more offerings, but that's just what I usually go with. You can ask for more sheets to get more whenever you want, which is great. I definitely recommend Hot Pot Buffet as a tasty, inexpensive all-you-can-eat option.

I just love the fact that you can order and try everything without breaking the bank. The broth is fine and so are the accompaniments (ask for fresh garlic, peppers, and scallions) veggies are fresh and so are the meat, seafood a bit lacking but it is buffet so I'm not expecting too much. All in all a great value for what I ordered (which was everything). I would go back for lunch on my own especially on a chilly day, and spend a couple of hours listening to tunes on my AirPods, working on my laptop, and dipping away.

Great spot for super late-night eats cause they open until 2 AM. I LOVE THEIR SAUCE! Man, what is their sauce its so addicting I go through 2-3 bowls of sauce every time I go. It's AYCE with a good selection of meats and veggies, seafood is lacking but what do you expect. I be going crazy here and leaving stuffed.

Lunch'd here with the fam. This spot came recommended in Boston's Chinatown district so I was excited to try for myself. The restaurant is two stories affording these guys the ability to entertain almost any party size. We sat upstairs and the space was huge. Upon seating, one of the servers passed out their signature dipping sauce in which could be dressed with chilli peppers, fresh diced garlic, and green onions. From there, you can select the type of broth(s) you want for your hot pot. We chose a spicy broth and then a more mild one for my niece. Once the broth arrives, you check off all the different types of vegetables, protein, seafood you want for your unique hot pot experience. We chose a little bit of everything and ate our hearts out. It is unlimited so be careful how much you order -- you don't want to be one of those wasteful buffet diners especially given how expensive food in general costs these days. Seafood and beef that we ordered were fresh and tasted great once cooked in the broth. If you have young hungry teenagers, this is a good choice to fill their stomachs up completely for a flat price.

Kaitlyn D.

Food selection is good with a lot of seafood choices. House special soup base was flavorful and the spicy was pretty spicy for those who like it! They do pretty well about making sure your pot stays filled with soup but some things that you mark on your list may not come so we had to bug waiters a couple of times.

Meets expectation. Imagine you meet a straightforward guy that looks great on paper with a wide variety, but often times gives you yellow poor quality meat, a little bit of attitude when he services you, is cheap and reasonable, makes you pay extra when you want his premium meat, makes you nag when you want more, but at the end of the day fills you up. Well, that guy, is Hot Pot Buffet. Simple, straightforward, meets expectations. Side note: * $30/person * does not offer dessert * variety: prime rib, short rib, lamb, beef tongue, squid, salmon, salmon, dumplings, kabocha, taro, noodles, udon, rice, rice cakes, gluten fried dumplings, bok choy, water cress, Napa, pork blood, enoki, trumpet mushrooms, shrimp ball, tofu, bean curd, shrimp, quail eggs, rice * only 3 different sauces: sacha sauce, hoisin, soy sauce

While food quality on its own is 'meh,' I can confidently say you get more than you pay for! When it comes to food quality, this is mediocre. The General Tso's chicken was great, though that is to be expected with an item heavy on salt, sugar, and fat; almost everything else is instantly forgettable. The sushi, for example, was on the low-tier of supermarket. At the same time, I do want to call out that there was nothing I tried so awful I spat it out. However, in a high volume, ultra-low cost spot, all non-catastrophic quality issues are immediately forgivable. Now, while Flaming Grill doesn't have everything under the sun, the variety is excellent! There are Asian, American, and Japanese dishes, as well as a salad and dessert bar, plus hibachi. While you will not find any oysters on the half-shell, I can confidently say there is something for everyone. Even with my voracious appetite and taking a small amount of what looked interesting to me, I was unable to try everything. When it comes to the service, considering the buffet nature, it was just fine. I absolutely want to award some credit as it was attentive enough that when I moved on to dessert, they knew to bring the check. As for outside my table, food items were kept refilled, as I saw nothing nearly empty. Everything was also kept clean, and no cleanliness issues were noticed. Final verdict: Unfortunately, my taste run a little more fancy than Flaming Grill & Buffet, but that is not an issue with the eatery, but a fact of my becoming bougie? I think? That said, when I find myself in MA, and waiting for the Rental Tesla to charge across the street before returning it, you can bet your serving spoon I will be coming back.

Even though we were there by 6pm and put names down for a table the wait was like 45 minutes! Clearly they are very popular and for good reason - it's an ayce buffet with hot pot! So to pass the time, we went next door to Petco and wandered around looking at the animals, fish in aquariums and birds/ parrots. We were seated in a corner table in the back and it was completely packed - it's quite a large space and looks recently renovated good lighting and modern decor. The buffet itself is huge quite extensive with all kinds of veggies, greens, starchy vegetables, tofu, fish cakes, imitation crab, noodles, and also a sauce bar with a very large variety of sauces. I filled my plate up and got a couple bowls of sauces. I got the kimchi broth while the hubs got the pork bone broth. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal! I ordered the chicken off the menu which was only $3 and the price of the buffet per person was $25 which is not bad at all for all the food there is. Oh and there is also a soft serve station with cones and vanilla and matcha flavors - hubs got a cone each! I tried the vanilla one it was great!! Best part there is free parking as it's a shopping complex. It was a bit tricky today as there a mountains of snow covering spaces, but we were able to find a spot! The price has gone up to $24/person before tax and tip since before the pandemic but it's still a solid spot. The only downside is the wait especially during the colder months. I am not sure if it's easier to go with 2 or larger group since there was no wait for our large group of 10 back in September during prime lunch hour. Then 30 minute wait at 2pm on a Sunday. I always go for adding an egg. I enjoy the kimchi broth and have tried a few of the other ones. They also have an extensive sauce bar so you can really customize it to your liking. Their house made combos are also super tasty. The perfect way to end flavorful hot pot is with their soft serve ice cream flavor. To be honest for a better overall experience rather than overstuffing I would say Qiao Lin is best with a larger group of 6 to try more and options.

Here in Boston for a family reunion! This lovely restaurant…read morewas a short walking distance from our rental townhouse. Bahar our server was super helpful, attentive and kind. We enjoyed sitting outside on the patio where the steady cool breeze refreshed us. The small appetizer plate with falafel and hummus was my favorite part of the meal. The falafel were flat and oblong, crispy and flavorful. I appreciated the texture of the hummus and babaghanoush (hearty and chunky, rather than smooth). The lamb adana and chicken Adana were delicious as well, complemented with pickled purple cabbage, red and white rice, and roasted green chili pepper (caution--spicy even if you remove the seeds!). Generous portions! We shared three entrees among 4 of us, along with two small appetizers and had two take home containers!

Love love love this place…read more First night in Brookline and walking to Whole Foods for supplies, we saw two big families leaving here looking happy and sated and rubbing their tummies; so after our shopping we came for dinner right at dusk, and immediately sat outside. Our server Bahar was so kind and helpful: I have a dairy allergy and really wanted to try the Ali Nazik, but the lamb marinade has dairy, we we got the Sultan's Delight (same smoky eggplant puree with baked lamb). We also ordered Chicken Adana, and the small appetizer with falafel and hummous; all to share for 3 of us. Our fourth got the Iskender Kabob for himself. Bahar first brought a bean salad (so fresh and light) and bread (yum). Then the appetizer: the falafel was flat (not spherical) which meant the surface area of crunchiness increased--so delicious; and the hummous was much grainier than I've had, which gave it such a lovely texture. Bahar came out with the Sultan's Delight, and rushed back apologetic that the chef used dairy today, so we ordered a second appetizer with babaganoush and falafel (we really needed more falafel once we got a taste)--the babaganoush was, like the hummous, grainier in texture than we were used to and so pleasing to eat. If it weren't for my dairy allergy, we might never had ordered the chicken adana kebab, which was so flavorful and lovely: the orange rice was so nutty and made my mouth happy. We realized that we wanted to try the Lamb Adana Kebab, which had such a phenomenal flavor palate with a nice spicy kick. The peppers that came with the entrees were like sneaky super hot shishito peppers in flavor. Bahar took such lovely care of us, we had an amazing meal.

It gets busy during dinner hours and weekends, but the atmosphere adds to the fun, communal feel. Service is generally attentive, with staff bringing out orders steadily and checking in to swap broths or refill items as needed. The menu offers a good variety of thinly sliced beef, pork, chicken, seafood, and classic hot pot additions like fish balls, tofu, mushrooms, and leafy greens. I was traveling from Logan Airport and followed Encore's own website instructions for the shuttle. Those instructions were wrong. Because the hotel had not updated its posted pickup location, I spent roughly an hour walking around downtown Boston in the rain trying to find the shuttle. I called twice for help and spoke with two different representatives, both of whom were deeply uninterested and unable or unwilling to provide useful assistance. When I finally found the correct shuttle area, I waited even longer in the rain, only for the driver to tell me and two other passengers that we needed to get on a different shuttle that was already pulling away from the curb. We literally had to chase it down to catch it. Because of this, I missed a work meeting. Unfortunately, arriving at the hotel did not improve the experience. After standing in an excessively long check-in line, I finally got to the front desk, where the staff confidently insisted that I needed to pay the full room amount, even though my company had already paid for the reservation. At that point I was exhausted, wet, and late, so I paid it just to get into the room. Now my office manager is having to argue with the hotel because staff are apparently claiming I never had a reservation at all -- which is especially strange given that I am currently sitting in the room, and we have an emailed receipt showing that the room was already paid for. Even worse, the staff member speaking with my office manager has reportedly been snarky, condescending, and dismissive while she tries to resolve a problem created by the hotel's own systems. Rather than helping investigate the discrepancy, he appears to be treating her as though she is confused or incompetent. That is unacceptable customer service under any circumstances, but it is especially galling when she is the one trying to clean up Encore's billing and reservation mistake. This was not one minor inconvenience. It was a cascade of failures: incorrect transportation instructions, unhelpful phone support, chaotic shuttle coordination, a missed business meeting, a miserable check-in process, an apparent duplicate charge, and now a billing/reservation dispute being handled with condescension instead of professionalism. For a hotel that markets itself as a luxury resort, this was genuinely embarrassing. Nothing about this experience felt organized, hospitable, or guest-focused. It felt like a high-end property with low-end operations and staff who could not be bothered to solve problems they helped create. Encore Boston Harbor may be a great place to stay if you enjoy being wet, late, overcharged, dismissed, and treated like an inconvenience. I will not stay here again, and I would strongly caution business travelers against relying on this hotel for anything that requires competent logistics, accurate billing, or basic customer service. Beautiful building. Broken operation. Absolutely not worth the aggravation.

There are options for AYCE as well as by weight, and if you do by weight you have to weigh everything you get at the side buffet and only get meat from the counter, so we opted for AYCE because that seemed cumbersome. The service here was friendly and attentive and as long as your token is green, the meat literally comes nonstop! I really liked their sides and salads, especially the plantains and fresh fruits. The meats were perfectly done and though they didn't really ask, all my pieces were medium/medium rare which is how I like it. The cut that was infused with garlic was really good, as were the sirloin and the chicken hearts and spicy pork sausages. Some pieces were very salty, but I'm pretty sensitive to salt. The grilled pineapple was luscious. If we didn't already have cake waiting for us at home, I would have definitely indulged in some tres leches or lime cake. They ended the meal with cooked cheese dipped in honey or guava sauce which was interesting. The fresh fruit at the salad bar was really refreshing. I probably wouldn't come back because it's just way too much meat/food for me and not my usual favorite (also rather pricey for dinner/weekends). However, my family had a great meal here and I think it's definitely a step up from fogo de chao in terms of quality and service.
