I'm adding my enthusiastic recommendation as well! After having a full 6 sessions a few years ago, I needed a touchup on my Brazilian. Narine was super patient (but fast!) on the phones, and managed to squeeze me in on the wait list, which was great since I'm going out of town soon. Her sister Dr. Karine (I thought that's the name I read in the paperwork) was fast, efficient and friendly. She explained everything again anyway, and mentioned that laser may be less effective for some people depending on skin color but she was obviously a pro at selecting the right level for me. (I'm Asian, and I scar easily.) No burns, no irritation, only a mild zing once or twice during her lasering the entire sensitive areas. Think about it. That's skill! They don't have a website, they're packed busy on word of mouth only --which confirms that they are good. My only complaint was that the office/building was a little cold. The location is in East Pasadena, which helps keeps the prices reasonable vs. Beverly Hills. They only recommended the number of appts I needed, no upsell pressure here. I have had a fantastic experience at Hot Spot Laser. I have darker skin (I'm Indian) and have had bad experiences elsewhere. But Narine has been very cautious and knowledgeable about treating my body hair - I have had a few sessions of full leg treatment and am very happy, I have hardly any hair left and what's there is fine. Marine and Narine are two wonderful ladies that know their work to the fullest! It seems as if my friends always know where to refer me. So far I've had 4 treatments on my face and Narine suggested I get at least 2 more treatments done. The very first treatment was horrible in my opinion, or so I thought because I had never been lasering before. My hair was still visible, I felt pain it was a complete disaster (in my head) After a few days the hair started to diminish and my face felt smooth. I realized that I obviously knew nothing about laser treatments even though these fabulous girls explained the whole process a million times. It was my fourth treatment last Thursday and there are only 4 or 5 pieces of hair that are stubborn but they are so thin compared to what it was like before. Spare yourself the agony ... go to Hot Spot and get it right the first time! These girls really know their stuff and I recommend Hot Spot Laser to anyone who is interested in getting results. A few years ago I had signed into a contract with one of those "big" laser centers ... $1500 for 10 treatments, payable in advance ... and didn't see any real results until after my third visit. On my fourth visit they had switched laser machines and it was so painful I could not tolerate it. I was in tears and the technician told me that this was the only laser machine they would have available from now on ... I never went back. A good two years went by before I decided to try another laser center. After reading probably 10 or 12 glowing reviews about Hot Spot on another review website, I called them and left a message, they called me back, I made an appointment and have been there probably 4 times now. Honestly, I am so pleased with the results, I will continue to recommend them and remain a client of theirs because they really know their stuff. The results I had after one treatment were quite impressive in my opinion. But that's not really all of it. These girls are SO friendly, SO professional ... and they call to remind you that "it's time" which is great. I just gotta say that its been 7 years since Ive been hair free thanks to these wonderful ladies and what they do. I use to go to them about 8 - 8 1/2 years ago and boy, did they do a fantastic job! I had gone to a few other laser places before them and wasn't pleased at all. Narineh, if I remember is the one who does the actual process being the registered nurse and her sister, handles the front desk operations. The prices were middle of the road but totally worth it. They take care of you, thoroughly and gently. I was never burned or had any reactions during my treatments. When I saw them for treatment which was every 2 months, I always had wonderful conversations. I Love these girls and my yelp review is long overdue. The prices are the cheapest I was able to find anywhere even though the laser itself is top quality, the women who run it are super friendly, and I'm always in and out really fast. The procedure is not very painful, either, and it is really effective. When I was picking a place, I was torn between Hot Spot and Laser Genie, which was the only other place I could find that had a good quality laser and reviews to match (for some reason there are not many Hot Spot reviews on Yelp, but if you Google Hot Spot there are a couple other review sites that might be helpful). I had to call to get the prices, but the ones I asked about were nearly half the price of Laser Genie. I'm very glad I went with Hot Spot. read more

I finished my 6th session on my full bikini yesterday. YAY! I highly recommend it. Its more expensive than the laser places in Glendale, but I have no problem paying more when I know I will get the results I want. Brazilian takes about 5 minutes of zap, ow, zap, ow. I will admit I was getting paranoid around session 3 that I was wasting my money, but I am so glad I finished!!! ITS AWESOME. After the first session there was some hair growth, but it was so much finer, like my fine arm hair, and most of it was blonde! Each session I would have to shave less and less. The most was between sessions 1 and 3, with shaving about every three weeks with what hair there was. By session 6 I "shaved" but it was really going over smooth skin, to see if I missed anything. Its an investment in myself, I hate shaving down there!! I had a brazilian with design and it was around $160 a session. Prices will differ depending on what you want left. I have considered going to cheaper places, but its not worth it. You're paying for the best, the experts, they know how to achieve results. I can't wait to go back for my underarms and toes!! read more

In a nutshell- Great prices, super friendly staff, and EFFECTIVE hair removal. For me, effective means fast, nearly painless and minimal regrowth. Hot Spot does all three stellar-ly (is that even a word?!). I've had laser done at another center a few years ago and finished the 8-10 treatments. The results at the other place were great but did not come without cost- it hurt! It was so painful that my leg (which was being worked on) would twitch with every shot of laser and my eyes would tear up to the extent where I was crying. So, needless to say, I was scared poopless to get additional areas done. But alas, I'm hairy. I was so surprised with Hot Spot's machine and expertise. It was FAST! I was out in 15 minutes...without a peach fuzz to be found. I expected a lot of regrowth since I was just trying to take care of some baby hairs but, after just 2 sessions, I see my hairs growing slower and sparser. Bonus: no pain! The burst of air was startling but, compared to burning laser beams, I'll take the air any day. Hot Spot is run by two twin sisters (although you'd never guess they're twins!). Because they truly enjoy each other's company, they are happy while they're working. They'll stop and chat, offer good after care suggestions and try to accomodate you as much as possible. Lastly, I have to mention the prices. With their prices, it's comparable to getting the same area waxed (although I can only say this for the area I'm being treated for). Why wax when you can work towards semi-permanent results? (FDA does not approve laser for permanent hair removal but in my experience, I've had areas with no regrowth for 2+ years). In this economy, I'm cutting out a lot of extras. But Hot Spot treatments will be one of the last things I give up. Seeing as I just switched from Kerastase to Garnier Fructis shampoo, this is saying a lot. read more

This is the most incredible laser place ever and I should know! I had over 6 laser treatments in a high price location in Beverly Hills. Not only did it hurt during and after, but my hair was never totally removed and it kept coming back. At Hot Spot, it is a totally different experience. Marine and Narine are so friendly. I am writing this review a year and a half after my last session. Even though I had waited so long (due to my hellish schedule) I had minimal hair regrowth so believe me when I say that Marine and Narine are the best and that is why I wouldn't go anywhere else. They are great to talk to and are so enjoyable to be around. Normally you get that weird OMG I am dropping my pants and flashing my goods to this complete stranger feeling but I only got that for the first 5 seconds and after that I felt like I was chatting with long time friends. What I like is that Narine is also very thorough and not rushing through your session, she also keeps up a great conversation so you're not focused on the laser. I won't lie, it does hurt. Not painful but more like quick snapping rubber bands (pretty much what other reviewers has said) I like to take 2-3 advils 15 minutes before my appointment. But it is it worth it? Heck yeah it is! I've had laser hair removal done at several other places, so I speak from experience---at Hot Spot they are more thorough, going over the whole area, sometimes twice, not just the places that appear to have hair; their prices are comparable (and sometimes lower) to other establishments; they are very professional and make me feel comfortable even when doing hair removal on areas I would normally feel modest about (she was a labor and delivery nurse, so she's seen it all), and they are very responsive, getting back to me in a timely manner in regards to questions, appointments, and rescheduling. I have been seeing these beautiful sisters for three years and I tell everyone it is the best thing I have ever done for hair removal! Hair on the face is the worst, especially those awful random chin hairs. Now I never even have to take care of my upper lip, it's such a relief! Yes it can be pricey, but considering how much I have spent on hair bleach, waxing appointments, razors, and threading it is well well well worth it. The treatments work and leave beautiful hairless results. I have been going in for three years and now I only need to seem them every six months for a small touch up. I used to get awful razor burn on my bikini lines and the now I don't even have to worry about shaving before I go to the beach. This place is great! And in this case you do get what you pay for! They do a great job and are very thorough but they are pricey! For full bikini and underarms I believe it's around $210! Which you will need well over 6 treatments! I am on my 10th! So do the math. And you are in and out in 20 minutes. The prices could drop and I would have so many more referrals, unfortuneately my friends and family think I am insane for paying this much!
