We love Hotbox Pizza. It's always delicious. However, this location has some customer service and efficiency issues to work out. We ordered online, drove 15 minutes to pick it up; they were having "computer issues" so they didn't have our order ready yet (told us to come back 15 minutes later). We came back, they tried to charge us double than we were quoted (both online and in person). Corrected the charge, left, realized they didn't give us the sauces we paid extra for. Had to return a third time to get the sauces. Again, we love the pizza. But we might stick with the downtown location from now on. read more

We have ordered several times from here and the last time we ordered the pizza was delivered and was incorrect. This was the second time we had a order delivered incorrectly. We called and let them know the pizza was wrong and they were very polite and credited our account (this is the second time in probably 5 years of ordering regularly), which is really not a big deal. Today we called to order delivery and the girl who answered the phone said "um no you can't get delivery, you have been put on a no delivery list bc we have credited your account too much." We trie to explain the account had been credited 2 times and it was because THEY delivered us the wrong pizza. The girl on the phone was incredibly rude and said "I know exactly who you are bc I've taken your call before and we will NOT be delivering to you". She then hung up the phone. I am very confused about this whole situation because 1. She didn't offer to just allow us to pick it up. And. 2. We wouldn't have had to call twice if the pizza wasn't wrong twice. The pizza isn't even that good and the people that work here are wannabe tough guys. I came here and got a large hot chick pizza to go, and about 15 minutes after I had got the pizza and was in the car, I noticed that most of the cheese on my pizza was stuck to the top of the pizza box. I called them back as soon as I noticed and told them about their mistake and they said "Are you serious dude? We close in 20 minutes". and I said "its your fault for being reckless when you put the pizza in the box, and I need a replacement since you ruined my pizza". I ate pizza as a child more than any other food so I know a good pie. HotBox puts together a diverse group of pies that makes it an instant classic. I am a fan of The Big Cheese with skinny crust. I remember when the franchise launched and I was amazed at how fast the company grew a following. The marketing is fun and the pizza can be described the same way. I signed up for email alerts so I know the Pie of The Week (half price!!!). It really dictates what I order but you can't beat that discount. Bread Sticks are a good midnight snack for late nights downtown or in Broad Ripple. HotBox could not have found two better locations for the 2AM crowd. read more

Our office tried this pizza place for an office luncheon after receiving some coupons in the mail. We were actually pretty impressed! Breadsticks are great, as is the accompanying nacho cheese. Pizzas are good as well. What really caught my eye was the branding. You do not normally see great branding on small pizza chains, but someone really did a great job here. The slogans on the boxes and napkins were quite humorous and made me even want to keep one to take home and show my hubby. LOL, pretty impressive for a pizza brand. Not a huge fan of the tootsie rolls in the pizza box next the pizza though....they get all gummy next to the hot pizzas...yuck! RACIST: I live less than 2 miles away from this broad ripple location and they would not deliver to my apartment. Why? Because I live in an area that borders a predominately black neighborhood (46 st) so they've redlined my area. It's a quiet neighborhood so are they afraid of black people? I spoke to the manger who was condescending and after telling her how I felt, hung up on me. She could of made it right. Avoid this location if you can. They hire the rudest, ignorant, disrespectful and the most unintelligent people to work here. The place is dirty (dirty table and dirty floor), it has bad ventilation and I hate the seating and interior of this place. I still like Hotbox pizza for a quick meal. Their bread sticks rule, the pizza is pretty solid. No its not ultra cheap like it is in a Bloomington. (College town genius, way more volume, hence crazy deals) However, the food still takes me back to a beautiful Bloomington day and that's all I care about. I would eat pizza everyday if it wasn't frowned upon. It's no artisan pizza with specialty ingredients like ricotta cheese, but it was great. We had the Dixie Chicken and an order of their breadsticks. I usually don't like breadsticks because I feel it's just a chunk of flavorless bread. The breadsticks were actually amazing and I think better than the pizza. I spent $15 for a large pizza and breadsticks which fed 4 hungry people after the bars. Hint to the wise order carry out about 10 minutes before you leave the bars. You know it's an epic pizza! read more

I wish I could give zero stars. The customer service and management at this location is absolute garbage. My friend made an order online at 11:30am and set the delivery time for 1:30pm. They called at 12:45pm to say they "just received the order" and it would be late. After explaining that we needed the pizza at 1:30 because that was when our lunch break was, they offered to give us a coupon for our troubles and HUNG UP. We waited and waited and at 2pm our lunch break was over and the pizza was still not delivered. Called back and asked to speak to the manager. The manager was extremely rude, refused to give us his name or contact info and claimed that we "never placed the order at 11:30" even though our confirmation email had a time stamp! He then kept saying "I don't know what you want from us" and "it's not our fault it's late". I asked repeatedly for his name and he kept saying "I'm the manager". He then HUNG UP AGAIN. We called back again to just cancel the order for the pizza that never came. Had to move up the ladder to corporate to file a complaint. I will never again give this place my business and the GM or owner should be ashamed. Horrible customer service and HORRIBLE staff. read more

I have never been disappointed with hotbox. All these sour reviews with no substance. Their pizza is pretty dang tasty, AND they have cheese sauce (which damn near no other pizza place has nowadays). I came in after seeing a glorious main squeeze show at the Vogue. I ordered a large pizza and bread sticks. Half of the dining area was already closed. The other half occupied by the usual broadripple crowd. With no more seats left I decided to sit in the closed section and the moment I tried, an off duty unmarked and unamed officer instructed me I could not. I tried talking to a manager and also waited for my pizza in the same area I wanted to sit.( I have a broken foot at the moment and am wearing an aircast and standing was painful). I felt like I was treated as a criminal in an establishment I had every right to be in. They were not closing any time soon and the only recourse the employee had after I asked for a manager was to offer me a soft drink cup....I feel offended and wronged at the way they conduct business here. read more

Tried having a pizza delivered and they told me they weren't going to because they were "expecting a rush". I asked to speak to the manager.. After about 5 minutes waiting the guy comes back and says I must be a good customer cause I'm an "exception" and they will deliver to me. An hour later my barely average quality pizza was here. This place used to be really great and I would go here all the time with my friends, but I don't think I'll be going back at all. I ordered a small pizza and breadsticks for delivery and everything was cold. I would understand a little bit cool because it was delivery, but this food is just plain cold. The pizza is also on the wrong crust. The delivery guy didn't get out of his car, he just called, and when I made it to the phone and the door he was already pulling out of the driveway. Then I received a call from the restaurant, and the man says "What happened?" in a very condescending tone. I explained, and he said "Well ok he's going to bring it around again" very rudely. Maybe it's my fault for visiting this place on a Saturday night but I like to at least pretend that the customer is always right! It started off fine as my friend and I were able to place our orders in a timely manner but then the wait began. We waited, and waited, and waited some more. We were dining in-house, and it still took 45 minutes for us to get our pizzas. This didn't really make much sense to me since they were fully staffed and even had a COP helping out in the kitchen (yes, a real uniformed officer was expediting pizzas and other food!!). Anyways, I don't mind waiting as long as I receive what I ordered. Oops. Strike two. I asked for basil pesto as my 'sauce' but there was no basil pesto to be found on my pizza. Actually, I don't think there was any kind of sauce on it at all if memory serves me correct. I didn't bother complaining because, well, I'm used to incompetent restaurant people. The other problem with the pie was that it was undercooked--which is unacceptable. The place was also a mess. Obviously the staff on hand that night had no interest in making sure the dining room was cleaned up after patrons finished their meals as plates, pizza boxes, utensils, used napkins, etc. were strewn over the entire dining room. I love hotbox's breadsticks, mostly when they are hot! Yum! There are hotboxes everywhere in town it seems. This review is for this particular hotbox. They are always so patient with the late night unruly broad ripple crowd. I give them props(and 4 stars) for that... last call is a good time to run over to hotbox to sit by the window or the register to people watch! My companions have been known to come in looking to blabber or pick a fight about cheese sauce or what-not after bar hopping for 6 hours and the workers just take it in stride as if it happens every day which I'm sure it happens quite often! The atmosphere is awesome, the people are nice, employees are use to drunk crappy customers, free refills on sodas, and very good breadsticks mostly dipped in cheese or ranch! Great night cap and place to sober up before the drive home. This is getting 4 stars because of the breadsticks and atmosphere for a late night stop. read more
