It's a nice place located about 2 blocks from the beach. The room was a standard room with 2 queens (I requested a king) yet the front desk guy says "I have you two queens and won't charge extra" riiiiight. The hotel does have a $23 a night fee which is getting to be a standard at most places. Now for those out of towners should know is that overnight parking is $40 + tax. The meters around the block are all 3 hours max. The room inside is ok but the floors were really dirty I couldn't walk around barefoot it's actually pretty nasty. I assume it's because of the beach distance past guests will always leave grains on the ground. The pool is very small so don't really count on that just hit the beach. Another issue that I fell into is they ask you to call 30 minutes before for valet yet an HOUR later and NOTHING! So we walked to Lincoln road which is about 45 minutes on foot. read more

We truly enjoyed our overnight stay at Hotel Croydon Miami Beach. The Hotel staff was the best part! They were amazing!! Juan Pablo and Irina were so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the area. We are so disappointed that we can't give a 5 star rating. Unfortunately, there was a loud beeping sound down the hall, like a fire alarm that needs a new battery, every minute or so. We called the front desk twice but they said it was 'normal' and not a fire alarm battery. Sleeping with a beep outside the room isn't normal for us nor does it make me feel safe. I slept with ear plugs and made the best of it. We spoke with another guest who slept with a pillow over their head. Please be aware that if shrill repetitive sounds bother you this is not the place for you. Aside from that this is a beautiful hotel in a wonderful location with great food and fantastic staff. If they resolve the beeping issue we'd love to return! read more

Hotel Croydon is a great place to check in for a quick, quiet weekend get away. It's literally just a few steps away from the beach, and has an amazing roof top that overlooks the city. The rooms are very modern and the best part is really the restaurant! I ordered a Philly Cheese Steak with fries and when they brought it to my table I just new it was going to taste great! Everything was made to perfection from the toasted bun all the way down to the melted cheese and the customer service is great here too! Definitely coming back again! read more

Avoid staying here! General manager is really rude and I heard him arguing with multiple guests. Housekeeping is AWFUL! First night we had stains on our sheets and second night black hairs!! So gross! We also didn't receive toilet paper one day and they never replaced the hand towels after we used them the first day. I will incl pictures of the sheets. I definitely don't recommend staying here even if you get a good rate. On top of it all we called the hotel SEVEN times trying to check out and no one has answered The only plus was the comfy beds but they weren't cleaned properly. read more

After my husband worked three weeks straight with no days off, I wanted to plan something relaxing. I found this hotel last minute on HotelTonight, and it seemed nice from the pictures on the app. We arrived around 2am on a Saturday morning and upon pulling up we were confused about the valet parking seeing as there was no signage. When I entered the building, I was greeted by Juan Carlos who informed me that valet was $42 a night (which I was prepared to pay) and told me that it would be better if we parked down the street and paid the meter. I was exhausted and just wanted to get to our room so that is where we parked. We had brought our own pillows, a blanket and a sheet seeing as I have severe allergies to the detergent most hotels use to wash their linens. Since we parked down the street we had to lug all of our belongings across a busy street (with no crosswalk) back to the hotel. We were assigned to room 101 which is a single king room in the front of the hotel on the first floor. Upon entering the room I noticed it was nicely decorated and very clean however I was immediately put on edge by all the loud noise and bumping music that we could hear from the bar and restaurant. Our room was right off the lobby and right next to the elevator which allowed us to hear everything. The bar was open until 5 am and the restaurant is open 24 hours so needless to say we did not get much sleep on our "relaxing" weekend getaway. I even tried to call the front desk to request a room change, but was told they were sold out for the night. I went on HotelTonight and they still had a listing up to book at their hotel for the same night which tells me they were not sold out. Seems like they just didn't want the extra work of switching our room. In the morning, we could hear doors slamming constantly which we later discovered was from a utility closet right next to our room and the employees were the ones letting the door slam. We woke up hungry and decided to try the onsite restaurant the Tavern. I will not go into detail (see my review on their separate Yelp account) but I was extremely disappointed. After breakfast we got a cafe con leche from the little coffee shop in the lobby which was actually very good (I was expecting very little out of it at this point) We will not be back to this establishment, next time we will try somewhere else and hopefully get some rest and relaxation. read more

Really nice boutique hotel in Miami Beach! The staff was very friendly and the room was always clean and inviting. I really enjoyed my stay and I would stay here again. My two friends and I stayed here in January and we all really enjoyed it! We walked from the hotel to South Beach and everywhere in between. The hotel is about a block from the boardwalk which is on the beach. The location is really good - we got to bike all around Miami beach and spend some time on the sand hanging out and relaxing. There's also city bike around the area which was really helpful for us to get around. If you like bike riding it's really peaceful to do it on the boardwalk. I guess the only thing wrong with this hotel was that our blow dryer didn't work. Not a huge deal - they just got us another one lol! Fun tip: They have a couple different sundecks on the roof and just below the roof as well as a pool on the main floor right off the lobby. read more

Never received a reply from management and Expedia gave me 2000 points for my 2 vip upgrades I did not receive, pitiful service from both! Here is my email to Hotel Croydon Hello, I am responding as requested by Expedia, I did not receive any Vip  upgrades, as a gold Expedia member we were supposed to receive 2 upgrades.  Our room, 305, was dimly lit, w,ith a burned out bulb in the bath,(I have a photo)  their were no bathrobes and the desk staff neglected to thank me for my stay, ask me to return, nothing. The valet service was also rude as when we arrived we asked if this was valet service and all we received was a "yep" no instructions, nothing. The restaurant and bar area was different as they were welcoming. We travel the world and stay at least 6 weeks a year in hotels and we have many to compare this experience to so we know it should have been much better. do not stay here!!!! bed bugs. not only was it the filthiest hotel i have ever stayed in, it is also infested with bed bugs!!!!! the hotel advertises a fitness room. unless you want mrsa i wouldn't use it. the woman who works in the "spa" told me it has never been cleaned and not to use it. there was a yoga mat so filthy it made me gag. this hotel should be shut down by the board of health. i will be lodging a complaint there too. read more

Had a juicy lucy burger for dinner which was verry nice the meat was delicious. The next day we had a verry nice breakfast =), the bacon was nice bud my personal preference goes to a well done bacon strip forgot to mention this when ordering. Arrived at this hotel after a seriously upsetting experience at another hotel. We had an incomparable experience here. The cozy but fancy lobby gave a nice first impression, the (bi-lingual) staff was very friendly and helpful, and they upgraded us just to be nice (for free). Upon entering our room we were very happy with the style, view, and amenities made available to us. They've also got a pool, fitness room, spa, and rooftop deck with outlets, cute furniture, and an awning for rain and shade. The only issue would could think to list is the parking (valet or not), which was at expensive at $35 a night. read more

They should be more flexible with cancellation policies, especially when the reason is out of the guests' control. Our flights got cancelled multiple times hours before boarding and Croydon wouldn't budge on their refund policy even though we provided documentation and had no control over the airlines' decision. We will not be staying at Croydon or sister hotels in the future when we plan this trip again. read more

Great hotel in a very nice location! It's about 10mins from the main strip (only a $5 Uber drive) so it's not noisy at all. They also offer valet parking for $42. The service is worth it. The rooftop view is beautiful! The rooms are the perfect size with wood look laminate flooring and a cute aesthetic. There is a complementary happy hour from 7-8pm. All the free drinks you'd like! The hotel restaurant definitely gets 5 stars on its own. Especially for a hotel restaurant. Great menu selection, beautiful outside patio seating, as well as a very well decorated inside. DONT BOOK UNTIL YOU'VE READ MY REVIEW! I booked this hotel through hotwire.com and was so nervous about the "surprise" reveal. After booking, paying and finding out where we'd be staying,It seemed too good to be true. I called to make some verifications about a week before my two day mini vacation and even browsed the hotels website and instagram. I was impressed. Once arriving at the hotel my expectations were exceeded! We arrived at 9am, however checkin was not until 3pm. Irene was SUPER professional and while upholding the hotels policy, she still was quite courteous and had a great demeanor and smile. We left our luggage with the concierge and were given towels and told where on the hotels section of the beach we could hang out. The beach is LITERALLY steps away from the hotel and I can honestly think of worse ways to kill time. It was paradise, especially coming from Boston. It's still winter in March here. We had "brunch" at the Tavern, the accompanying restaurant, which was awesome! Once it was near time to check in we went to our room and I was again impressed! The room was clean and cozy. I loved the shower and the bed was super comfy!!!! Like SUPER comfy!!! I want to add a few of the little perks of my stay: the complimentary drinks during happy hour. The literal coffee bar in the lobby.! I'm a coffee connoisseur so that was a PLUS! The AMAZING atmosphere throughout the entire lobby and first floor honestly feels like your in your own suite, it's so cozy. The decor is great and this may sound strange but the temperature is always just right throughout the hotel. The pool on the first floor outside is so relaxing even in the early am when no one else is out just to sit by and relax. There is a gift shop on the premises as well. I did not go to the rooftop, which I do regret, however my friend did and he said it was as amazing as it looks on the website. Everyone on the staff is super friendly and accommodating from the valets outside to the front desk to the housekeeping. I noticed that the hotel offers yoga, but I believe it's on Saturdays only. If there was anything I'd say this hotel is missing it would be spa services. Perhaps onsite massage or beauty services/Manicures. Overall I would stay here again and again. Decided to stay at the beach this weekend and get a room at this hotel. Me and my boyfriend got a great deal so we decided to book I.t after reading some of the bad reviews. I would have to say the best thing about our stay was the free drinks from 7-8 for guests, man did we get our Money back there . The only complain I would have about this hotel is the fact that you have to call the front desk to change the temperature in the room also if you valet and they tell you to call ahead of time to request your car DO IT ! waited about 40 min downstairs for our car after check out. Overall our stay was not bad. Rooftop deck is really nice and has a great view, food at the restaurant in lobby is reasonably priced ( for Miami Beach), beds were comfortable. The first word that comes to mind is Rude. We were put directly across from the elevator where I received the very worst sleep I've ever had in a hotel (and I've been to a few 3rd world countries). When I called down to the front desk no one answered. When we went down and requested a later check out the gentleman told us he could give us 12 but would charge extra after that. I explained we were across from the elevator and I did not get any rest. To which he did not even show any expression of remorse or an apology and responded "12 will be fine". Very disappointed considering how nice the hotel is. It's very "boutique"... Lovely decor and the room was cozy with a very fully stocked mini bar. The restaurant inside isn't terrible either but again we received poor customer service at our breakfast. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone, it lacks customer service, advertised as a 4 star hotel and it's not. Be aware of a resort fee but do not expect a resort hotel, the pool is very small and it's a very bar scene, smells like cigarettes and alcohol at the hotel. There is no mangers on site, you will deal with front desk agent named Chris, who seemed like a teen to us with out any professional experience. The hotel does not provide parking, they will advise you to park on the street but please let us warn you it is not safe in a matter of 5 hours our vehicle was broken into and our belongings stolen right next to the hotel and the hotel did not seem to care. If you need to reach the hotel for any reason good luck there is always a sign that's says we will be back in 5 minutes. The worst hotel experience of my life and I travel often, I usually also do not leave reviews but I do not want others to be misled by fake reviews and unrealistic advertising. read more

They charged me 30 bucks for an hour late check out and I called the front desk multiple times to tell them I wanted to check out and their customer service was lousy. Roberto the manager freaked out because I called him "dude" when I spoke to him. I'm from Cali and that's just the way we talk. He was way too sensitive. 2.5 stars. Cons: Very very SMALL room. Barely able to put one luggage on floor open. Beach is two blocks away but it cost 25$ for two beach chairs and an umbrella. No longer complimentary free beach chairs. I thought part of the RESORT FEES were for the complimentary beach chairs? Very very THIN walls. I can legit here small conversation and tv next door. Do not stay by the elevators as you be so annoyed if you wanted to sleep. Minimal amenities. No hair dryer or iron. For our Labor Day get away for my friend's bday- she picked Hotel Croydon as our home base. This was such a cute and sleek boutique hotel on South Beach. There is a small pool area just outside the lobby, and if you're adventurous, you can escape to the rooftop and enjoy a nice view of the ocean. There is also a gym and yoga studio you can use. The room we had had two beds. It was kind of small but still a very beautiful and comfortable room. We had a fridge and nice bathroom. We really enjoyed staying here and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a pretty hotel with nice staff that is just across the street from the beach. They provide beach towels for you, but you must sign these out. You can enjoy lounge chairs up until 4pm. Most importantly, there's also a hotel happy hour nightly! You also do not need to worry about getting to and from the hotel from the airport- they provide a free shuttle which comes pretty much every hour. read more

Stayed here November 2020 for 5 nights. The room smelled terrible the entire time. Just musty. The linen and towels also had this same smell. Then when you exit your room into the corridor, it smelt of 40 day old food. It was just unpleasant and I'm not sure what's caused it, but they need to have their whole ventilation system cleaned out and maybe buy new bedding. It definitely was not a 4 star hotel. In regards to covid safe practices: there was never any hand sanitizer in the dispenser in the lobby. & The restaurant/ tavern connected to the hotel did not use any covid safe practices at all. Every table was dirty and uncleared. Tables weren't sanitized before new people sat down. I do not recommend staying here. read more

I've started this review three times and can't quite figure out the best way to articulate how much it is a waste of money to stay at this hotel. For the money you'd pay you'd be best suited to go to any other hotel on the strip...you'd pay roughly the same or less and get more. PLUS, you'd get good service. While there are many things that were wonky with The Croydon (the super noisy rooms, the doors that don't close all the way, alarm clocks set to odd times, crappy sheets etc) the service is the one thing that really makes this place the worst. With the exception of a friendly bellboy, most of the staff seem resentful to be helping you and/or doing their jobs. Anytime we asked for anything (towels, the correct size room that we booked, a round of drinks etc) it was like pulling teeth to get some service support. There was one really nice waitress who was excellent at her job and was very social with the guests and we saw her get chastised for chatting with us too much. It was hilarious...people barely spoke to us and when they did they were told not to. Moral of the story, make better choices!! read more

I wish I could give this hotel a good review but the negatives outweighed the positives. First off the positives. The rooms are nicely designed, the location is close to the beach and the staff is nice and responsive. The restaurant in the hotel has good food and service, no complaints. The problem is with the noise levels. As other reviewers have mentioned, when you book through Hotwire, they give you the room right by the elevator and so everyone getting on or off is like having them actually in your room. It's so loud it's impossible to sleep. I'm writing this review at 3am because there's not much else I can do at this hour. Sleep is certainly out of the question. The front desk sent security when I requested but it didn't stop the noise. There appears to be little to no sound proofing between the rooms or at least between the door and the hallway. This is by far the biggest negative and will ensure I will never return. The mattresses are too soft for my comfort level but that's an opinion, some may like that. All in all, I'm happy I'm only sleeping (wait, scratch that. I'm clearly not sleeping) here 1 night. I don't think my body could handle more than 24 hours with no sleep. :( read more

Cons - Impersonal check in - incorrect room (despite booking a king myself and my husband received a twin, when friends checked in who requested a twin they were told there were none left and were given a king!!) - poor happy hour... Not only is it poorly posted and the service patchy none of the cocktails are included - no room service available despite having a restaurant - tiny, closet like rooms - threadbare sheets which give the sensation of crumbs in the bed. Hugely unpleasant! - sleeping with the window open is a bad idea if facing the pool as they started to play poolside music at 7.15am... They then switched it back off at 8.30am. Bizarre. - no room to unpack any cosmetics or anything that isn't clothing for that matter - alarm clock going off at 4.30am (set by prior guest but not amended by housekeeping prior to our check in) - way below average food - service in the restaurant is beyond slow. We'd to get our own menus and silverware both days - unstaffed roof decks - returned home from dinner one night and the heating had been put on full blast in our room - blinds broken in our room - ikea light fittings and wardrobes - the beach sunloungers are in incredibly bad condition and almost insulting - turn down service consisted of turning pillows to an angle, pulling the curtains and switching off the air conditioning Giant humongous con; $500 a night Pros - good location This is clearly a budget basic hotel moonlighting, albeit badly, as a boutique hotel. Prices need to reflect the service and building and be reduced dramatically to approx $180 a night, this would've helped to manage expectations and I would've booked elsewhere. Our gang of underpaid idiots dine together most nights after spending each day staring at one another around a conference table. Because we're basically New Yorkers, we live in a hotel and our meals are expensed to our client, we tend to eat at better restaurants. Our choices are generally pretty good, but tonight we decided to downscale and eat at the Hotel Croydon. Such a mistake! The problems started with our Martinis. I ordered an extra-dry martini and it was positively sweet and undrinkable. The bartender must have added sweet Vermouth instead of dry Vermouth. Just awful. It was downhill after that. The manager offered to replace the drink but, instead of making a new drink, went to the bar and came back with a cocktail shaker full of another martini and pouted it into the remains of the first one. It was just as bad. Zero points for the bar. The seafood chowder was actually quite good, but the burger came on one of those lame brioche buns (why do they serve those buns? They always fall apart and they're too sweet for the meat) so I had to discard it. I ordered the fries well done and crispy and they came out flaccid and pale, so back the went for refiring. They came back 1/2 later only after I asked the manager about it. I think that part of the problem was that our waiter was from the islands and had trouble understanding standard American English. Perhaps he missed the "extra dry" and the "Bombay Sapphire" when I ordered the Martini (they didn't have either Plymouth or Hendricks gin in any case.) The burger was ordered medium-rare and was served medium-well. After a few of these disappointments it doesn't pay to complain. Just give up and write this review. The restaurant has problems both front and back of the house. The new manager has his work cut out! If they ever get their act together I'll never know, because I won't be back. read more

Worst hotel ever people were banging on my door until 5 am partying. Second in the am we were checking out prior to check out time and the cleaning people never announced themselves and just came in while I was naked changing w my kids in the room then did it two more times before we left before 11am check out I felt very invaded and violated and our bed was full of sand it was really gross I complained at front desk and still I don't feel anything has been done too bad I can't leave negative stars this place is terrible If this hotel was respectable they would be refunding my money as we were violated and couldn't sleep read more

I've just checked in for a 4 day, 3 nights stay for my birthday and the hotel gave me a room that directly overlooks a white wall of an old building. This is unacceptable. I cannot stay here for 4 days looking at this white wall and they call this a 4 stars hotel AND they charge me a $20/day RESORT fee?? There is no complimentary water or coffee or tea, and the bathroom is a small shower. The only good thing about the hotel is cleaniless and location. I would rather have paid extra $100 for a better hotel. I do not recommend this hotel..I'm very disappointed and I plan to report it to BBB for the unjustified resort fee. I really enjoyed my stay here at the Croydon! It was a quaint, eclectic place with an extremely friendly staff. The room was a bit small, but it didn't matter because we didn't spend much time there. The rooftop was very nice and it was a great view of both the city and the beach. Lawrence was extremely helpful giving us recommendations and he was hilarious. We made sure to visit the bar for Happy Hour because Stefan (pronounced like Steffin not steff-ahn haha) and Bobby were both great bartenders who took very good care of us. All in all, if we decide to return to Miami, we'd stay here. Or at least come back to enjoy a good drink! read more

The Hotel Croydon has been great to us. From checking in to checking out. The staff is very courteous and accommodating. The Tavern in the hotel is 24/7 eat and drink. Emilyz, who was our server for breakfast, is completely awesome. She has a great personality and very attentive. Sony, who assisted with bringing out the food, also was courteous and has a great smile. From time to time the managers would come up to you and ask how's everything.
