I was incredibly surprised by Hotel Croydon--it is the exact opposite of what you usually expect from a South Beach stay. It has all the charm and style of a classic boutique Art Deco hotel with a beautiful lobby, but without any of the typical South Beach attitude. The vibe here is remarkably warm and welcoming. The Standout Staff: The hospitality here is next-level. One of the front desk hosts, Adriana, is absolutely amazing. I had read great things about her in other reviews before arriving, and I'm happy to repeat and echo that exact same sentiment--she is the real deal! Also, shoutout to V at the restaurant, who was fantastic and took great care of us. The Food & Rooms: Look, it's South Beach, so you have to expect that the rooms are going to be on the smaller side. That's just the tax you pay for the location. But speaking of the restaurant, I ordered their truffle fries every single day. As a bit of a fry connoisseur, I can tell you they are highly addictive and a must-order! Setting the Record Straight (Location & Parking): I saw some reviews online that were a bit misleading, so let me clear a few things up for future travelers: The Beach: Someone wrote that the hotel is two blocks from the ocean. It's actually literally on the west side of Collins Ave, which means the beach is directly across the street on the east side. You're steps away. Parking: Other reviews complained that parking is difficult. Honestly, it's all in how you view it. I bypassed the hotel options and parked in the city garage for just $8 a day. Do a little homework, and it's a breeze. Return Factor: 40% Don't get me wrong, this low percentage isn't because I didn't like the hotel--the property and the people are wonderful! It's just a matter of personal geography. When I visit the area, I simply prefer staying in Brickell or up on Fort Lauderdale Beach. But if you want a friendly, stylish stay right in the heart of the action on Collins, this place is a fantastic choice. read more

Unfortunately, my experience with Hotel Croydon was not a positive one. While the hotel boasts a convenient location and a modern aesthetic, there were several issues that made my stay less than enjoyable. First and foremost, the cleanliness of the hotel was a major concern. The room I was given appeared to be only superficially cleaned, with dust and debris still present on surfaces throughout the room. The bathroom was particularly problematic, with mold and mildew present in the shower and a lingering unpleasant odor throughout the space. Additionally, the noise level at Hotel Croydon was quite high. The walls were thin, and it was easy to hear noise from adjacent rooms and the hallway. This made it difficult to sleep and resulted in a less restful stay overall. A positive was the customer service and attentiveness of the front desk and bellman. They were all very friendly and welcoming. They also take extra precautions to prevent sex trafficking which has occurred at this hotel. Finally, the amenities at Hotel Croydon were underwhelming. While the hotel offers a pool and fitness center, these spaces were small and not well-maintained. The pool area was particularly disappointing, with limited seating and a general lack of cleanliness. Overall, my experience at Hotel Croydon was quite disappointing. While the hotel may have a convenient location and a modern aesthetic, the cleanliness, noise level, and amenities left much to be desired. I would not recommend this hotel to others looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. read more

This hotel is AWESOME. From check-in to check-out, the staff at this hotel went above and beyond for myself and my two cousins. We stayed 1 night from 6/21 to 6/22. The price is right, and the decor is beautiful. I was pleasantly surprised that the hotel exceeded my expectations in price, decor, service, and location. There isn't parking onsite (except for street parking), but we did not have a problem getting a spot right in from of the lobby fort at both check-in and check-out. There is a parking lot suggested by the hotel that is a 4 minute drive and 7 minute walk. The best part? It's only $8.00/24 hrs. This worked perfect for us. We didn't not need to use the car because we were able to walk, take the local free trolley (there is a stop across the street from the hotel), and Uber. Though there are many places to walk to near the hotel, if you want to go to South Beach (the hotel is more middle beach, I think), you definitely need transportation, especially in the heat of the summer. Hotel Croydon has a lovely pool, 7th floor terrace, and a roof top deck. The hotel also does a happy hour between 5 and 6 pm, daily, for their 21 and older patrons. The on-site restaurant, the Tavern is excellent. We only had breakfast there, and it was delicious. Big portions, and excellent service. You can sit inside or out - we chose out. The outside decor is so cute! Though short, our stay was absolutely wonderful. Special shout out to the front desk clerk, Ana, and the manager Carlos - both went above and beyond. I can't wait to go back!! read more

Hotel Croydon is awesome. Myself and my niece recently stayed 06/10/2019 - 06/16/2019. From day one the customer service was to die for. From the time we stepped out of Uber until time to leave. The food AWESOME, the workers awesome ,well all but maybe two. The only reason I actual was going to give four starts because I didn't know we was charged until calling the 1888 number after returned for damages. In all fairness the rooms a beautiful and dressed in bright white linen and though the warning is posted in small written in the bath the rule over blood or damages charge for "damages" to linen, could be revisited and maybe create a limited before damage charge. Mother nature didn't warn my niece on the last few days of our stay and she tried so hard to comply. Sorry for the descriptions but it was a dime size spot she notice nothing bad at all maybe the attention was only because she tried to clean it. SO... I will not take the Star away because the maybe two unfriendly people and that incident HOTEL CROYDON along with Micheal and Stefan at the bar who we fell in love with and Alexander at the bar, Iryana at the service desk Ray the best to start my day coffee guy. I will stay there again and again. Oh did I mention steps away from the beach. Awww.... to die for. read more

Had a great stay there for one night prior to a cruise vacation. The following day they let us leave our luggage in a secure room so we could hang out, eat, get supplies before the cruise. The room was very nicely appointed and the bathroom especially nice. It was quiet at night which is important as I am a light sleeper. The driver from the Shuttle service from the airport to the hotel was in a visibly unfriendly mood, so did not help us get our luggage on or off the bus, and therefore rec. no tip. I mentioned this to the front desk and she noted it and apologized. Even better was when we came off the cruise ship, we had the better part of a day to hang out before we needed to get back to the airport, so I called the hotel and asked if we could park our luggage again and utilize their beach for the day. They said yes, and even let us take their Shuttle service back to the airport for free! We paid $30 for 2 chaises and an umbrella at the beach, totally worth it, and I tipped the front desk staff nicely for their kindness and hospitality. I will be coming back to stay here just to take advantage of the beach and to see more of South Beach, Miami in the future. read more

My friends and I went to Miami for a girl's getaway over Halloween and stayed here. We wanted a boutique hotel and something away from the Ocean Drive nonsense and Hotel Croyden was more than we hoped for. The staff was awesome! Lazaro was extremely helpful and accommodating and was able to secure a ride for us whenever we needed, Frederick was fun and sociable and Tatiana is probably one of the best servers I've had in a restaurant in a LONG time. Speaking of the restaurant, The Tavern has some of the best food around. And if you have a sweet tooth, the oreo cheesecake is seriously to die for. I ate 3. The hotel is only a year old, so everything is clean and updated. The pool is small but the complimentary frozen fruit skewers make up for the pool size. Besides, the sun deck is where it's at. We caught some of the best sunsets here and it's a perfect place for pre-party action before heading out. We all loved this place, and the next time I'm in Miami, I will stay here. My friend won't, only because she hooked up with a foot doctor and now has a "Miami boyfriend," but whatever. I will be back, most definitely. read more

I stumbled across this place out of the blue because a friend told me about it. I live in the area and it's so hard to find a decent place to practice yoga, but this place is very nice!!!! My class was only $15 and it was so worth it just for the view of the ocean alone. I did rooftop yoga one day, and then took a class inside their yoga room the next time. The yoga room is actually bright and cheery, but it's hard to find because it's on the 7th floor and there are no signs for it, the sign outside the door says "gym" but when you open the door it's a beautiful yoga room. I was SOOO happy when I walked inside. Both the rooftop and the yoga room were large and very accommodating for doing yoga, and the teachers were great. This hotel is also a great place to come and meet friends for drinks - there's a great bar called the Tavern on the ground floor, and the staff at the hotel seemed very welcoming and accommodating, even to outside hotel guests. I think I've finally found my place! Thank you for bringing this gem to my neighborhood!!!! read more

My son and his bride had their wedding rehearsal dinner at Hotel Croydon 2 weeks ago.The weather did not cooperate or else it would have been magnificent on that rooftop with views of the ocean, intercoastal and the beach skyline. However the event was nonetheless nothing short of spectacular. The lobby and restaurant area was cozy and eclectic and gave you that beach vibe of the past. The food was extraordinary. The Lieberman family own several beach restaurants and had the food brought over! It did not taste like typical hotel food.it was a great mixture of Japanese, Chinese,Italian and even Spanish cuisine! Appetizers galore and buffet for 35 was plentiful.Great desserts! ---5 star dining!. Great open bar .Not done. The ownership takes great pride and it showed. Tremendous service. Nathan L came over and personally saw to every detail and even made sure that we were given access to the roof for a wedding toast.Alison, their coordinator did great job. Definitely we are going back and having the next event on that rooftop!!!!! read more

My fiancé and I recently stayed at the Hotel Croydon, him for work and me to enjoy the beach and pool. While there is only one pool on premise, the stay was very enjoyable. Right from check in Irina was fabulous. She helped us get another room, the first one had a weird smell. I'm still giving it 5stars because she asked to describe the smell in order to have it corrected. I spent my days sun bathing at the beach and at the pool. The beach is a short walk away and there are lounge chairs available. The fiancé and I had dinner at the restaurant where Masha and Kianna were the most attentive servers. Cocktail hour, free well drinks from 7-8, was a nice added bonus. My last day there, after checkout, was so relaxing! I had to stay well after checkout and everyone at the front desk was so accommodating. Irina, Amanda, Allen, and William: thank you all so much for allowing me to hang out and use your facilities after I had checked out. They even heated my leftovers!! I will definitely want to stay here again. read more

do not stay here!!! roberto the manager was very rude and condescending. it took us 2 hours to check in because my credit card was stolen from my bag while in their possession. we then had to obtain another card and then the problem was that we didnt have a matching id. even though, my card was in their possession when it went missing. when i checked out a concierge asked "did you find your card" which was strange because i dont remember him being around when the problem conspired. the tavern was terrible service, we asked for drinks and sauce for our food and it took 30 min for us to get those things. there was a policy posted that said no makeup on towels, because 3 towels had makeup on them, we were charged our $100 deposit plus an additional $50 upon check out. $150 for towels that can be put in the wash. i will be contacting the owner to discuss the terrible customer service we received while staying here. read more

If you want a commercialized, one size fits all, big box hotel, then this place is not for you. If you want a boutique, quaint style, hotel where the staff are eager to please and a friendly atmosphere then definitely stay here. The hotel has this small town feel where everybody knows you and greets you with a smile. I felt that the staff was out looking to please us. They have a free shuttle to and from MIA which was great as I did not need to rent a car. I got there at about 12 oclock, the room was supposed to be ready at 3, however they let us use all the facilities including the sun roof which was alot of fun. They then called me, on my cell phone!! at about 1:30 to tell us our room was ready, now that is something. Over all the beds where heavenly the rooms were spotless and the ambiance was perfect. When you go, dont forget to get your free drink at happy hour between 7 and 8 pm. Will definitely go again. read more

Ok - so... Pros: 1. 1 block from the beach with reserved seating. 2. Free basic cocktails for guests during happy hour 7-8pm Cons: 1. Rooms are incredibly small with terrible amenities . 2. Pool is small and on the street level facing restaurant guests so they can conveniently watch you swim during brunch. 3. Sound proofing is essentially non existent. You can hear a pin drop , so don't expect to get any privacy or peaceful sleep since you can hear every guest getting on and off the elevators, etc. 4. You're charged for everything . And I mean everything. There seems to be a fee for just about anything you can think of. So much so that you're not even allowed to get makeup on their towels or they'll charge you $100 (seriously , see pic attached) Just skip it. read more

The Croydon provided a fantastic stay-cation for us during a long weekend. The general atmosphere of this boutique hotel is one of class and gracious interest on the prt of all the staff to serve their guests. The hotel facilities are tastefully decorated in classy, tasteful decor. At the art-deco hotel lobby and hallways retain the look of a by-gone time. The rooms were spacious and decorated in modern, clean designs. All of the staff was eager to please and helpful in every way. The pool facility was beautiful, with spacious lunge chairs surrounded by lush palms. The pool leads out to Collins Ave. and right across the street is access to the beach. The Tavern restaurant, located in the Hotel, served truly delicious meals. It was an all-round positive experience. read more

I got a massage today by Robyn at the Spa on the 7th floor of the Croydon. I am here quite often, and haven't gotten a massage in a while, so this was quite the treat. It was incredible to say the least. She really took her time, I did not feel rushed, and I was even able to lie on the table for a few extra minutes longer than I normally would anywhere else. It is really nice that the hotel has taken the effort to make this environment a truly healing and accommodating one. When I walked out of the room, there was a private yoga class in session with peaceful background music, and the warm energy of the instructor as she smiled at me when I walked out of the therapy room made my day. It was the perfect goodbye to a wonderful experience. read more

Great boutique hotel right on Collins in Mid Beach- close enough to South Beach to enjoy the nightlife but far enough to enjoy a peaceful beach vacation. Being unsure where to stay on a last minute trip, Rob Spano of NYMIASC referred us to the Croydon and we couldn't be more pleased with our stay. Besides the great pool, the rooftop deck is a great place to enjoy the Miami sun and take in the panoramic views of both the city and ocean. Another awesome feature of the hotel is the 24 hour restaurant, The Tavern, located in the hotel. Compared to many boutique hotels, the we room received was quite spacious and beautifully decorated. We can't wait to return and have already suggested the Croydon to many of our friends. read more

I had the opportunity to stay at Hotel Croydon from 6/21 - 6/22 with my daughter and cousin. This was by far the best hotel experience I have ever had. We were greeted upon arrival by Ana who was very kind and made check-in a breeze. The manager Carlos was very attentive and made sure everything was great with our room and the service we were receiving. The hotel is just as beautiful in person as on the website. The room was clean and spacious enough for the 3 of us. The 7the floor deck was beautiful with breathtaking views. The hotel was located minutes from the beach. The Tavern staff we friendly and wonderful. Breakfast was amazing. Highly recommend Hotel Croydon if your ever in Miami. read more

You won't find a better place for your buck trust me. The supervisor at the front desk Lazaro Castillo made sure everyday that my stay was enjoyable and that everything was going as I wanted. The Bellman Joel Rosario as well Was very friendly told me about some places in Miami that I had to see and indeed I did.Enjoying luxury while feeling very welcomed The place was very clean and the location was amazing. So close to the beach I was only a block away from the beach and the restaurant had a good menu and a happy hour of free drinks everyday. The staff are the ones who made my stay even more enjoyable honestly. I'll surely stay there again next time.. read more

I was visiting my father in town, and we stopped in the Hotel looking for lunch at the hotel restaurant, Tavern. An executive with the hotel named Ankur Lakhani, was gracious enough to give my dad and I a tour of the hotel. The hotel and its amenities were very impressive and looked chic yet cozy. Mr. Lakhani recommended the Juicy Lucy burger to us and we were not disappointed! A huge patty and helping of fries along with a side salad. The burger was delicious, and the restaurant had $5 mimosas on sale. The service was great and our server was very kind. I will definitely be stopping by again in the future for dinner. read more
