I need to update my review sadly. My husband and I used love this place! Their wings and baked beans are SO good...the wings have great flavor. However, their customer service is absolutely terrible. Never count on your food being ready when they say they will be. One time I ordered celery over the phone and I got there and she said "we don't sell celery." It's right there in front of my face on the menu. They need some new hires or better training for sure. read more

Asahd (hope its spelled Correctly) and his team today (8/6/19 5:00pm) were so friendly and the wings which me and my man pretty much only order, were AMAZING(lemon pepper, bbq, honey bbq, and crispy chicken) We have been coming here for almost two years and I know they have had a lot of different management/ staff. Grateful this place is finally the delicious wing stop we know and love. We have been consistent in coming back and giving hotlanta several chances because it was always a hit or miss with service and food quality but we never gave up even after some pretty shitty experiences. I just move to California from Atlanta about 6 months ago. Missing a piece of home one of my co-workers recommended this establishment. I eventually go and men and female employees are hanging out in front of the door. I ask the cashier if they are really from Atlanta. She informs me that the owners are. I order a 15piece lemon pepper/mild. The wings were so small and they were disgusting. I've never been more embarrassed from hometown. I ordered from them two days in a row and both days they messed up my order. The 1st day all that was missing was my fries. I took the L no biggie. The 2nd day I ordered a sandwich meal with a drink using DoorDash. I got my order and it was some wings. No drink. No sandwich, didn't get the side I ordered and no sauce. I came here not expecting much in comparison to foods I've have in houston and Florida. Soul food in Cali usually just doesn't hit like it should be hitting. I had to wait a cool minute for my order to be ready but they were on top of everything. The cashier helped me learn the menu and was patient and friendly. They were so sweet and checked my order often to see if it was ready. When it was they brought it out and made sure everything was perfect. The customer service was top notch. The Greens I ordered were *chefs kiss. The potato salad was sooo good. A little sweet. The shrimp was good but I wish I had more. Chicken was good and crispy like I like it. I did not eat my fish but that was my fault for making the wrong choice in the type. Lemonade was amazing I loved it! I will for sure be back for myself. This place has the best comfort food of all time. I usually order the ribs, chicken and shrimp combo with macaroni and their baked beans. The ribs are perfectly cooked, soft and juicy. The chicken wings are crispy and they have tons of great sauces to choose from ( I like the teriyaki and honey bbq), and omg the shrimp is so delicious and crispy. The Mac and cheese is tastes like the recipe has been passed down from generation to generation. And the baked beans are sweet but not too sweet to where it's over powering. The only bad thing about this place is that it sometimes gets so crowded that you should order about an hour in advance, but that goes to show how much everyone enjoys their food read more

We had given them several chances over the last few years because we liked their hot sauce. Their mac and cheese is really good also as long as you don't get the one with hair in it. You would think after the first time we wouldn't go again but it happens on occasion and we thought maybe just one of those mistakes. Then it happened again, gross, thick, wiry hair. It was enough to put us off for a while until the craving returned and would you believe it happened again? 3 times total it took us before we couldn't stomach going back. The last two times were in a row too. After months in between, seriously nasty and btw, we kept going for a while in spite of how rude the people working there are. Seems more like a family owned business where they don't actually want the business, just to hang out hiding in the back getting high. Food is delicious, without a doubt...... however, we only come here every once in a blue moon and when we do, we usually order in for pick up. NEVER FAILS, every time we place an order they claim the wait is 20-25 min. Mind you, we live half an hour away so we usually call right when we leave our home so we can make it in time but like I said it never fails. Point blank, I called at 3:45pm to place my order and my husband walked out with our order at 4:45pm. They should give more accurate wait times, just saying. read more

Unfortunately that was 6 years ago , and today it's been a total of 8 years since i've been going to hotlanta, today's services seem to have only gotten worse . #1 Customer service is rated at a 2 for me because when you call they either don't answer , or put you on a 15-20 minute hold. #2 If you do order food inside the store gave to face , your order is either forgotten , never placed to the cooks in the manner you asked for. The wait is about an hour and 30 minutes ...regardless !! Today me and my fiancé placed our regular order as usual , two catfish sandwiches with fries . The represntative assures that the wait would be 1hour . We arrived in the time span as scheduled for pick up , & on time. Only to find that our food was cold as if it had been sitting for more than 20 minutes. Completely cold !! Honestly the time before this one , a younger staff had came out to to address other customers , and we were sitting in our vehicle .. mind you this was after we placed our usual order , my fiancé asked the women how much longer the wait would be and that we had been waiting for an hour already . She personally told us both that she would make our order. Then turns around and asks us what our order was .... Their is no communication , no structure , and no customer service between the cooks to the folks taking our orders upfront . I'm not sure why it has become a norm for hotlanta to be given this reputation . Numerous folks have complained and honestly it's really sad that we as a people can't support our own " Black business" because of shit like this !! I live right across the street and I have always wanted to try this place due to the name alone, but have never gotten the chance until this past Sunday. Sooo.....I'm at home and had a taste for some soul food/chicken. As I am scrolling on Grubhub I see Hotlanta pop up. I check out the menu and call....No answer. I think to myself okay "Are they even open?" I try calling a few more times just to be sure they are still serving the wings as lunch and again the phone just rings...No answer. By this time I have decided if they are open, I'll get the 15 wings combo, and a banana pudding. I take a chance on pulling up to the place and it's open!! Okay so now I'm excited, It's no more than 5 people inside and I think I'm just gonna be in and out. Here's where it gets good... As I am waiting to place my order, the people that have been waiting before me start to complain about how long they have been waiting. 1st sign something was wrong. I wait at least 20 minutes before they even take my order. Mind you there was someone on the phone (doing Lord knows, probably placing his own order to quit) but he never told me to wait a second, or I'll be with you, or can I even be helped. The other 2 women were running around completing orders of customers that had left and came back to say they were not given their complete order. It was pretty hectic. When I finally ordered from the guy on the phone Johnathon, I was told it would be an 45 minute wait. No problem I say..as I sit in my car waiting for my order. I have seen about 15 people come and go, some people that were waiting before me were still waiting on their food close to the duration of my order being completed...Or what I was told the completion time would be. I still maintained my patience and was just excited I was going to be able to try the food. I finally get home after an 1 and 15 minutes and open up the plate..... Burnt greens, burnt wings and they were tinier than my pinky toe. I got 15 wings and I can say out of the 15, 7 were probably wings..The other 8 was just bone with hard skin on it. Thank God I had cold macaroni on hand (even tho I thought it was supposed to be hot) I had to use that to cool my tongue off from them hot suicide wings. That was the best experience I had from eating here...My tongue being on fire and my nose running!! I WILL NEVER, EVER, EVER eat here again. God bless the building, workers and customers. WORSTTT wings ever. We (and other people at this location) waited nearly an hour and a half to get our small two-person order. They had to have been raising and slaughtering the chickens in the back, because that could be the only explanation for the extensive wait time.The lemon pepper wings were DRENCHED in so much oil, you probably would have a heart-attack just looking at them. Also, their phone system is extremely... janky... which the employee at the front informed me about when I got there. However when you're trying to call an establishment and you keep getting disconnected, it's quite difficult to call in an order... and since you're going to wait an hour and half for your food, you want to give them as much lead time as possible by calling-in your order!!!! read more

I have been going here for 12 years, or so, and their Suicide sauce is, hands down, the best tasting hot sauce for chicken wings I've ever had. Heat with a great taste. You don't find that quality with the other wings places. Their wings are small, but have you seen the prices? They reflect the proportion size! 5.99 for 10 wings and fries - what's wrong with that?!? Less meat means the entire wing will absorb the flavor. I have traveled long distances to go to this place as I have moved a couple times in the last decade. Not many options for wings out here other then Hotlanta and Wingstop and both are good. Wingstop wings are wayyyy bigger but I find the flavors and prices at Hotlanta to be Superior. Just make sure to call 40 minutes ahead of time. They do take a while but as long as you plan ahead it's no problem. We walked in and it took about 10 mins for someone to even come out from the back and take our order, the service was okay she was very friendly and helpful while asking about the menu. The thing that sucked was the wait I put the order at 11:51pm there was only 1 person in front of us the cashier said it would be 25 mins, an hour passed I was very upset everytime I would ask for a wait time she would go back there and check and then after being back there 10 mins to just check would com back to only say 15 more mins, the food is great but the wait time is not worth it. I came in for some wings for the first time and like a previous reviewer said, I just do not understand the hype for this place. The front is way understaffed and the cooks in the back are constantly walking in and out of the kitchen with their headphones on walking at a very leisurely pace. I ordered a 15 piece wing combo and waited for about 44 minutes for my order to be ready. The sauce that comes on top of the wings is decent but the wings themselves are just very tough and chewy. I would not have minded the 45-minute wait for wings if it at least they were good. As long time customers I am disgusted with the service at this restaurant as of late since the owners have put other family members, in particular Bea and Jaylee, to run things in their absence. The owners have always been customer focused, hard working and super nice people. Lately it's all changed. After attempting to call in an order I was put on hold twice for over 25 minutes and I actually walked into the restaurant and was still on hold. They were not that busy and both girls were extremely rude and nasty, telling me they were family members of the owner Felipe so they didn't care that I'd be contacting him. I asked them if they thought that was good customer service and they said no, but they weren't going to do anything about it. I will be calling, but I was told he was traveling and they wouldn't tell me when he would be available, I hope that he reads this review. While my family loves the food, especially the wings, there is no excuse for rude nasty argumentative employees, family or not. Unfortunately I will not be returning to the restaurant until these people are gone and the customer service is back. Wing stop is closer and they will now have our business.
