This is our go-to when the family wants great big burgers and shareable sides. Very clean every time we go and always greeted as soon as we walk in. And, with inflation being a trend for most restaurants, this is only 1 of a couple places we can feed the whole family and it doesn't break the bank. They have a service charge 4% if you use your card. I was watching them make food, just to check out the kitchen. Tell me why my burger was already done before they started making my fries. They had my burger already sitting there waiting before they tossed in a batch of fries, I ordered them well done, so I knew it was still going to take some time. The guy that handles the money and takes the orders, he also helps out the kitchen without washing his hands. He just goes back and forth. Total time spent in restaurant: 21 mins. Hamburger was okay, no special taste. Just exactly what a charbroiled burger from this type of place would taste like. Fries, meh. They're fry seasoning is lacking. It breaks my heart to do this but, 3.0 stars is the best I can do for now. Maybe the hamburgers deserve better, but we didn't try them. My meal hit the wall. California Pastrami: A grilled Parmesan sourdough bread, filled with copious pastrami, dripping with melty cheddar cheese, green chile, tomato, thousand island dressing. I loved the concept. And it probably sounds great to you too? It should have been. The problem was the pastrami. Washed out. Lacking flavor. Even salt and mustard could not resurrect it. It tasted boiled in water. The sandwich would have been a winner if not for that. Chili dog: Big plump hot dog, grilled to the point it had serious blackened sear marks on it. That's a good thing in my book. IMO, hot dogs and bacon should have a bit of char to bring out the saltiness. Mr. B loved the dog, a good brand, but the chili was just ok. Plenty of cheese on top. Good. Fries: Huge portion that came with my pastrami combo. Looked really yummy but again came up short. Too soft/limp and greasy, not crispy. I appreciated they tried to take it up a notch by seasoning it with seasoned salt, but they just weren't that good. Great prices, clean spacious place, pleasant hardworking kids working the counter. And I really liked the owner, Nick. He checked in with us a couple of times and I know he is trying his best. So Nick, I hope you will take a good look at these observations.
