Great service, very welcoming, the food was very good and they have a nice selection of sides and drinks. Great atmosphere and overall food.

First time to try hotpot express. Didn't know what to expect. I came with 2 of my daughters and granddaughter. She like the shrimp and the Bok Choy. We got the 3 different broth. I wasn't too impressed with it. We had the spicy and beef broth and and regular. We got the beef, bok choy, cabbage, fish ball, vermicelli, noodle, dumplings. It was okay nothing special. You get the veggies, noodles and meat selection from a refrigerated vending machine. It kind of costly. It came out to more than a $100.

I love coming here. The owners are super sweet. Tonight, they gave us gifts! I loooooove the papaya salad. Their hotpot is sooooo good too!

While driving around the Sacramento area in the evening looking for a late-night dinner spot, I happened upon Hotpot Express. Hotpot Express provides an innovative take on the traditional hotpot experience in which diners can select their broths (up to 3 different broths can be chosen) and then select their hot pot contents from a self-serve refrigerator. Diners are charged by the plate with each colored plate representing a different price point. They provide a medium-sized selection of noodles, vegetables, meats, fish cakes, and dumplings for patrons to enjoy. The owner was very friendly in explaining the restaurant's concept and providing us with recommendations, which we appreciated given it was our first time at this spot. We went with the miso and authentic boat noodle broth. Both broths were very flavorful and I'm definitely glad we were able to sample both! From the fridge we went with a selection of noodles (egg and udon noodles), napa cabbage, seafood mushrooms, fish balls, and tofu. The hot pot ingredients tasted fresh and of high-quality. If you're looking for a new hot pot place to try with a unique dining experience to go along with delicious food, then I definitely recommend giving Hot Pot Express a try!

My boyfriend and I have been wanting to come here for a while and we're so glad we finally did. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. In fact, we were the only ones in the restaurant since we came around 8:30pm. The broth was incredibly delicious and totally recommend coming here! The ambiance was nice and clean and a nice dinner spot for anyone looking for something warm to eat. Only downside was that I wish there was a wider range of selection but that could've been because we came close to closing. Nonetheless, still worth coming for the flavorful broth!

Me and my husband's came here at 5 and waited 1 hour to get our food. We order papayas salad which is not bad but the noodles was worst.

Took my best friend & mom here to experience the "hot pot" life... & they LOVED it! You get to choose your own sides/noodles, so each of us were able to eat what we wanted & cook it how we liked it. It was their first time so they were amazed at how easy it was. We chose 2 different broths. The beef & the lemon grass. Both of them were delicious! My favorite part is that it's self serve. You don't have to wait on anybody because everything's already set out in the fridge for you to grab. The employee there was also very friendly. He checked on us a couple of times and cleared our plates once we were finished. There wasn't a lot of people there, just one other group so it was nice & calming. Even as more people came in it didn't get too rowdy. For all 3 of us it did cost around $90, plus tip. So we spent $100. Not bad for the amount of food we ate. By the end we were satisfied & full. If you're looking for a quick place to go with delicious food, go here. You won't regret it

Beef broth was the best. They charge by the amount/type of add-ons you choose. Friendly owners and perfect spot for date night.

The first half dozen times I came, was during 2020 and 2021 and they did not allow anyone inside beyond a tiny 3'x3' space at the far door. Take out only. I recall my review mentioned service time quoted wrong and inconsistent spice level. Well, those two were problematic tonight. I didn't ask and wasn't told how long food would be. Shortly after placing my order a group of young people walked in like they owned the place and sat at a long table that had dishes added to it as they were coming in. My food took 30+ minutes. The Tom kha seafood... I think the seafood may have been frozen and re-thawed a couple of times as it had a strange combination of textures within a piece of meat and pieces were very chewy. The spiciness, asked for medium but not too hot, like mild-medium. My liquidy yellow curry chicken was barely mild. The soup, was just sweet. Tbe rice was abundant but soggy/clumpy. The inside is absolutely lovely. I took tons of pictures for my first visit inside. I was told most was imported from Thailand. I believe it. I'm just not able to get myself to find the food good enough for me. Sad.

The restaurant is small and cozy but not suffocating by any means. Staff was super friendly and attentive throughout and not too much either. I was basic and had a Dr Pepper but my wife had the green Thai tea and she really enjoyed it. We ordered the Laos papaya salad very spicy and that blew my head off. I was sweaty it was so spicy. But we enjoyed it that way and laughed at each other struggling lol. Pad see ew was really good as well. Veggies cut small and easy to eat and the noodles had great flavor. We also order volcano chicken and tom yum soup. All had great flavor. The chicken was moist but well cooked. The tom yum has great strong flavor without being too salty. Honestly some noodles in that soup and I'd be really happy. We really like our lunch and plan on coming back to try other dishes.

We received our Tom Yum soup before our rice arrived, so we waited to eat it. One of the ladies noticed we hadn't started eating and came over a few times to check if everything was okay. She wanted to make sure we were happy with our meal, which I really appreciated. My favorite dishes were the Thai papaya salad, Tom Yum soup, rad na, and the pad see ew. We ordered both the papaya salad and Tom Yum soup at the "fire spicy" level (I believe it's level 4). They were extremely spicy but still so good. Every dish came in generous portions and was well seasoned. The volcano chicken was fun to watch with its flaming presentation, but the chicken itself was a bit dry for my taste. The pumpkin curry also needed more flavor as well. Overall, I really enjoyed the food here.

Sometimes this spells out trouble because I want to order the whole menu instead of a sensible amount of food. On my latest visit I ordered takeout and got the Tom Kha Soup with tofu ($13.50), Green Curry with tofu ($13.50), Kao Soy ($13.50), House Chow Fun with tofu ($13.50), Thai Tea ($4.50), and Thai Iced Coffee ($4.50). It was a lot of food, but I've learned House of Thai Rice & Noodle is best enjoyed family style where you get to enjoy a few things. The pricing is very reasonable for the portions and the flavor on the dishes is so good! I don't know what they do with their Chow Fun, but the noodles were so flavorful, soft and fluffy and didn't need any extra sauce. The Tom Kha soup is a comfort food for me and this is always a great option. I forgot to order rice with my curry, but eating it like a soup is equally satisfying. The Kao Soy was flavorful and the noodles were great with the broth and toppings. I've dined in and gotten take out and both are great experiences. The team here is so friendly and welcoming. When I order takeout, I typically order at the restaurant and wait and they always have me sit at a table and offer water or another drink while I wait. I do love dining in because the dishes are at their freshest and it makes for better photos. The dining are has plenty of seats and it comfortable. The plaza also has plenty of parking, but the spots nearest to the restaurant tend to fill up. If you're thinking about stopping here, try it, you won't be disappointed!

The restaurant is nice and clean and comfortable. Very simply and tastefully decorated and the staff were pleasant and let us take our time getting settled in to the menu. We all ordered their cream cheese wontons to share, and they were so good, we ordered two more orders! They were more flavorful, with the addition of garlic, than the usual ones you get at other restaurants, and we all really enjoyed them! The curries my step granddaughters ordered looked heavenly and they really liked them, and my husband ordered his favorite dish, Thai basil beef, my father and mother in law and I ordered pineapple shrimp and chicken fried rice, and my stepson ordered a curry dish. We all really enjoyed them and their servings are HUGE! We all took home leftovers, which was a plus! Be prepared for large servings! The only drawback (if you want to consider it that) to our dinner was the level of spiciness here. Fr those of us who ordered mild heat, it was way more spicy than we are used to, so, if you aren't a fan of very spicy Thai food, be aware and order it with none. My father and mother in law, who are in their mid 80's, were smart and ordered their fried rice with no spice. I've never been to a Thai restaurant (one of my favorite cuisines!) that had such spicy mil. I just thought I'd warn my fellow Yelpers who are sensitive to hot and spicy food. We all left happy and really enjoyed our food. Oh, their Thai iced tea is delicious and is a very reasonable price, compared to other Thai restaurants.
