I really love Tasty Pot, so this was honestly a disappointing experience. We ordered takeout last night, getting both the beef soup and lamb soup. Unfortunately, something definitely did not agree with us. My friend ended up having to throw up in the sink because they couldn't make it to the toilet, while I had to use the restroom eight times throughout the night. For context, I did eat something in the morning at home, but this happened during the evening after we had Tasty Pot. Other than Tasty Pot, the only thing we both had was bananas... lol. Obviously, I can't definitively say the food was the cause, but the timing and the fact that we both became sick made the experience concerning. Tasty pot is one of my favorite places to go. This spot is pretty good as well. I ordered my usual and my wife and I shared the Taiwanese pot. My sister ordered the curry pot. As tasty pot goes I like the variety in the pot and the flavorful broth that is in the pots. The Taiwanese has the mix I usually like. Beef slices, meat balls, various seafood, and various other items that fills the pot to the edge. Enough to fee the two of us happily. The drawback from this location is the beef slices were more minced. You can't tell easily from the picture but the beef was crumbly in small chunks at times. And then we liked a spicier flavor and the broth was more mild and their chili oil was very mild so couldnt add more heat. But for those of us who dont like as spicy a pot this location still maintains the flavorful broth. Decided to stop by for a late dinner because I saw that they serve other items besides hot pot. They have sizzling rice plates and dim sum, but of course, I didn't try any of those other items. I ordered the Taiwanese Hot Pot with flaming spicy broth. It wasn't spicy to me, and the flavor of the broth was on the lighter side. I do like how they cut the pieces of meat smaller, but some of beef was a little too shredded for my liking. Their side sauces were definitely different from the other Tasty Pot locations. I think the chili oil had a numbing spice to it, and it tasted a little tart to me. The sauce threw off the flavor of my hot pot. I normally order the green tea, but they only serve it during lunch, and it isn't listed on their drink menu. They were kind enough to still give me the drink for free. This location is definitely bigger than the ones in Elk Grove and on Florin Road. They also have cute decor. Had late dinner here after a day of running around. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating and it's open and bright. Service is good and quick. We placed our order and it took about 10 minutes to get our whole order. I ordered the curry hotpot. It came with pork slices and a side of rice. Curry flavor is light and everything in the bowl was delicious. The rice was a little dry. I mixed all three of their sauce they have out on the table. One of the sauce .. I think it was the chili oil .. tasted like it had numbing peppercorn in it . So if that's not what you like I would suggest not putting that in your food. We got the lamb hot pot and beef sizzling plate and I really really enjoyed the beef sizzling plate! The sauce is absolutely addicting and they give just the right amount to coat each rice grain. The edamame and corn are also a nice touch once you milk everything off. There's also a really nice char taste, the whole dish was perfect for me. I hate leaving bad reviews, but I thought my experience was worth reviewing. I've never experienced such a terrible time at a restaurant. I came here excited since I love the other locations of Tasty Pot, but I'm not too sure what happened today or if it's just an understaffed day. We sat down, and waited awhile to order. Food took some time to come out which is fine, I don't mind waiting. But *** the broth of the soups here aren't as good, the beef was cut really odd. I wish I had taken a photo. The dim sum items I could've skipped on. The food was just very underwhelming. Fine... but the server was no where to be found. We were just waiting for everything, and I like to consider myself a very low maintenance diner. After some time of waiting we were ready to pay the bill, but then there's no server. We got up and went to the front register and waited... Rang the bell once, no one. Twice, still no one. Third time... finally a waitress came out to take payment. I've never in my life wanted to tip $0 so badly, but we ended up leaving $5 because we felt awkward leaving $0. After some shopping in the Roseville area I was really hungry and cold so I went to go get some comfort food at Tasty pot in Roseville. The Ambiance is really cute when you first enter it is really Christmassy and Chinese New Year decoration. I do love the big space with lots of tables to choose and the seating area is really spacious. I really like the service they were on top refilling the broth and of course refilling the water and making sure we had enough of everything. I tried two hot pot bowls and the first one I tried is their stinky tofu with pork. The stinky tofu was fermented and has a special smell it is really authentic and if you know you know. The pork slices was really thinly packed and there was a lot of it and they were very generous portion. I love how the bowl had a lot of seafood and vegetables and other miscellaneous items. I got Mild spicy with it and it had the perfect kick to it. The other bowl that we had was the Lobster Seafood bowl and this bowl is a little bit bigger and it had a lot of seafood it was like an endless bowl of seafood and veggies. We didn't get spicy on this one and it was really clear broth and it was really comforting and refreshing. Overall a few are looking for a hot pot where you don't have to really engage or cook this is the perfect way to go. The bowl is already preset and decorated and all you have to do is just wait for it to come to a boil and all your food is ready to eat. Each Hot Pot comes with a bowl of rice or vermicelli noodles. Overall I am a fan of the spot and I can't wait to come back and have more hot pot when I am in the area. So this place is interesting... they charge about the same price of a hotpot buffet. But they are not a buffet! You only get one pot/bowl. But it was so big I couldn't finish it all!! Personally my first time trying hot pot but this location was selected because my friends had visited over 3 times so that itself tells you how much they've liked it to keep coming back. I also enjoyed my time and food. The server Peter I believe? was suppeerrr attentive, helpful and kind. We visited Tasty Pot for lunch right before the new year. I've visited other concepts with a set hot pot menu like Tasty Pot's, and I really liked the variety of options this menu offered. The larger sizes were generous for their additional cost, and I enjoyed my #9 (though I did not find the "very" spicy to have much kick at all). Other folks at my table did not get so lucky, as there were ingredients missing from their pots. Noticeably, there were no lotus roots or beech mushrooms in any of the pots that were meant to have them. However, service was spotty and we weren't able to ask about these between the time our meals were served and when I had to call the main phone line (to bring a staff member out) to pay for my bill as there was nobody on the main floor during and after our meal. That being said, the folks who brought me here have had previously good experiences after the new management was in place. So we're blaming the holidays for the subpar service, and I'll be back on a regular weekend to give them another try. P.S. We have been happy to visit this tasty pot location since they opened, sadly this was not the case in our last visit this week. We have always mentioned to friends and family what a great gem this was and how good it was for Roseville to have a good hotpot place. Our friends gifted us tasty pot's gift certificate during their mother's day 2024 special - this was before this location had actual gift cards and was more of a printed letter with the staff's name, how much the certificate was worth and a date. The certificate had listed the names of the stores they owned: Tasty pot and a nearby nail salon, Pro Top Nails. We have been going to tasty pot for a year since, every time telling ourselves it is okay that we forgot the gift certificate because it did not look like the store was going anywhere. How wrong it was for us to have that thought. The current owner said that unfortunately they were unwilling to honor the certificate and that we could speak to the old owners if we wanted. I asked how we could go about that and he directed me to the nearby nail salon that the previous management also owns. We even mentioned that one of the tasty pot workers signed off on the gift certificate and the owner responded that unfortunately that worker was not there anymore and that we could try our luck at using the certificate at the nail salon. We had no interest in doing our nails and were only in this area of town for the hotpot and he was adamant there was nothing he could do. Thankfully, Pro Top Nail Salon mentioned they were willing to honor the gifcertificate. Summary: The new owners of tasty-pot roseville are unwilling to honor gift certificates with their store's location and phone number and instead told us it was our problem to resolve. He's quick, attentive and super soft spoken. They used to play pop Vietnamese music when they first opened. The last couple of visits have been radio pop hits. I just visited Tasty Pot in Roseville, and honestly it was one of the most disappointing experiences I've had at any Tasty Pot location. The broth was completely flavorless, and the spice level that's normally present at other locations was simply not there. On top of that, some of the food actually tasted rancid, which made the experience even worse. What made it even more frustrating was the service. There was only one other table in the restaurant, yet during the entire hour we were there we were only attended to about three times. No one checked in to see how things were going, and when it was clear the food wasn't good, no one asked for feedback or if anything could be improved. This is especially disappointing because I've been to several other Tasty Pot locations around Northern California, and they have always been exceptional--great flavor, great service, and a place I've recommended many times. This location unfortunately does not reflect that standard at all. It felt like there was no care for the quality of the food or the customer experience. I would not recommend this location. If you want the Tasty Pot experience that people actually enjoy, drive a few extra minutes to Sacramento or Elk Grove. Those locations actually care about their food and their customers. I wanted to try this place for dinner after I had just arrived from a long drive from the Bay Area. I have enjoyed tasty Pot at a number of different cities and I have enjoyed the food they serve. Parking is relatively easy even though the restaurant is located in the far corner of a large strip mall. The decor inside was similar to the other branches. I ordered my usual Thai hot pot but wanted mild because it was so hot outside. Service was quick though the ordering process was a little confusing between the server and the QR code. Anyways I was one of two tables occupied at the time. My order was fairly quick and the amount of food was huge. There was a large mound of pork sitting on top of the hot pot. Honestly it took me almost 45 minutes to work my way through the meal. My only issue were the prawns which were quite old, and the two pieces of a small crab which was a challenge to eat. I'd rather the food be served just in a hot bowl (stone or iron) to retain the heat. Getting past the petroleum exhaust the food was excellent. Fabulous variety of seafood, some exotic vegetables. The broth is rich, a little piquant, a little spicy. A lot delicious. Monster size portions. I can eat mass quantities to keep up with the biggest men. I surrendered after 30 minutes. I brought 35% of the meal home. Will reheat it for breakfast, add some ramen and a little more bone broth. The serving style was a challenge for me. I kind'a made a mess by spilling broth and vermicelli on the table. My clumsy hands couldn't get the right way to use the spoon, the cooling bowl and the slippery plastic chopsticks to shovel the food towards my mouth. I usually order it on the side because I don't like my meat cooked too well done in the soup or else it gets rubbery. I loveeeeee spice but I recommend going for no spice or mild, because the medium is TOO spicy that you cannot enjoy the taste of the food. It's super flavorful and if you are looking for more of a Szechuan spice flavor I recommend ordering #1. However, if you are into sour soups go for Thai spicy soup. I got the Lamb hotpot my first time here and it was really good! A great alternative to the beef if you want to switch things up a bit. Portions are generous and they do put a good amount of meat, which I appreciate! For the hotpot you get to choose a spice level and side of rice or vermicelli. Definitely get the rice! Vermicelli is small so you feel like you get nothing. We got the curry pot and beef hotpot. We noticed higher price pot came in a bigger bowl. Both were filled to the brim with ingredients. Soup is super hot obviously so don't dig in right away! The table has 3 sauce options to add to your soup: looked like a soybean paste, a garlic sauce, and hot chili oil. We didn't add any spice to our soup because of our kids, so the sauce helped add some. The middle orange sauce was our favorite. It was garlicky and a little spicy. The best part is the staff come around and offer more broth! Definitely needed it! For dessert they have a free self service fruit station. This time there were oranges and cantaloupe. For our main dishes, I chose the #11 Sichuan Flavor Hot Soup (I love a good kick!), and my wife went with the #10 Japanese Miso Hot Soup. Our food arrived piping hot in these neat warming pots--definitely no risk of cold food here! We turned off the warming candles and dug in. Honestly, the food was just okay for us, sort of bland, not really to our taste. However, judging by other reviews, a lot of people seem to love it. Just a heads-up: it's a bit pricey. Our meal of potstickers, two hot soups, and two green teas came to $70.90, even with the 15% discount. In the end, I'd say give Tasty Pot a try if you're curious.
