Excellent food and service! Such a yummy place to just hang out, get drinks, and relax with friends. I recommended the soup and quiche combo of you are looking for lunch (or something to split with the table before dinner). I am such a fan of quiche, but it isn't the easiest thing to find around the Toms River/Brick/Lakewood area at a restaurant. Houlihan's quiche blows many out of the water and is thick and hearty with a delicious crust. The wait staff is attentive and care about you having a good time. My wife and I have been going here for the past three years and we absolutely love this place. The pot roast sliders, pot stickers and spinach mushroom flatbread are absolutely delicious. We recommend to and bring our friends from out of the area there every time they are visiting and they love the place as well. Don't get me wrong there are many places to eat within 5 to 10 minutes from here but Houlihan's Brick is one of the better ones. We live literally 5 minutes from here and we love it. read more

The food here is either hit or miss. They always seem to get their burgers right, but the last time I ordered a Surf and Turf, the steak was well done when I ordered it medium rare, and the lobster was rather bland, the accompanying mashed potatoes were great though. read more

Used to be great before it changed to corporate! Service is still good, even though they no longer will take any coupons or local flavor if you have anything on special. This neighborhood spot defies the notion that chain restaurants don't compete with privately owned restaurants. Living in the Brick Lakewood area, my gf and I always have a hard time deciding what "new" spot to check out. We always go with the safe and consistent Houlihan's and are never dissapointed. Terrible service. Only ordered unlimited soup and salad and they couldn't get that right. Salad filled with the white leaves from the core of the lettuce head. They served flat soda, never offered more soup or salad refills. Waitress barley seemed to care, and was not attentive to our needs. I have been to several Houlihans locations and have had good experiences, but after going to this location twice, I will not return. On a recent visit I called ahead and was told there was no wait and no reservation was needed, only to arrive and find out they couldn't adequately accommodate our party. After some debate at the host stand we were eventually seated in a small booth in the corner of the bar. The booth was filthy with food and crayons all over the seats. The menu I received had food deposits left inside of it and everything on the table was sticky. They upcharged for a broccoli side!? And they charged full cocktail prices for virgin drinks. They also charged for kids meals that were supposed to be free. Worst houlihans experience ever. Not recommended! read more

The only reason Houlihans is getting two stars instead of three, has already been mentioned by another yelpper. It's just an overpriced Fridays. Food: It's Fridays, but an extra $3 per plate. If it were the same price as it's competitors, I might say it's better, but not by much, and definitely not by $3. Atmosphere: Pretty nice. You're paying for the decor, so make sure you take it all in. Service: Very good. Knowledgeable staff who is friendly and quick. I want to give it a third star on account of this, but it's all about value in today's market. Overall: If you don't care about value, go here instead of Friday's or Applebee's. If you're all about value, reverse my last sentence. The drinks are a little more expensive too, but that's commensurate with the price of the food. If the food was priced more reasonably for what you get, It would be a 3.5. The extra cost for no other reason than to seem more upscale is in fact, it''s undoing. 2.5 Stars. Houlihan was our go to place but a few months ago we had a bad situation and was offered a possible solution to return by manager .So we returned and had a great meal and the service was and always very good .Thank you to manager and we will return great customer service ! read more

Good food but a bit pricey. Service is adequate but not spectacular. Bar area gets a bit crowded but that's to be expected.

I've eaten at this houlihans in the past and always had great service and had a manager visit the table to make sure everything was going alright but this visit just didn't live up to previous experiences. Our server seemed like he was having an off night and signified that when he came back to the table after 25-30 minutes to review our entree order again because clearly he had lost it or just flat out forgot to write it down and put in our order. A manager never visited the table to see if we were okay with the wait we had endured. We never got waters/refills that we had ordered and just didn't feel like we were being taken care of like we had in the past. It was a special occasion for us so we planned on enjoying ourselves but ended up just being annoyed with it all. To top it all off at the end of the meal we had an extra entree added to the bill and the manager didn't even address me when I went to look for help with the check. A server helped me out and took the entree off the bill while the manager stood behind her without a word coming out of his mouth. Management should have taken care of this for us not a server. To be truthful the experience just wasn't worth the money we spent. Hopefully this is addressed to all staff a this location and is resolved. Would give 0 stars but it won't allow me. read more

I have been going to this Houlihan's location for years, I have had nothing but wonderful service. First they do nothing to accommodate the guests! It was cold as anything and the heat wasn't even on! Also thought the mangers were supposed to ask how everything is, well they didn't! One manger walked past my table FOUR TIMES, saw him asking other people how their meals were! The other manger as well! I got the chicken parm and there was A BONE in my chicken! The table next to mine only had drinks from the bar and he asked how was everything! The waitress also NOT ONCE asked how the appetizer or dinner was! How rude is that!! She also took forever to come over to us when another table she was having a full blown conversation with! I am so disgusted and disappointed, 40 minute wait wasn't worth it! The food has always been good at this place Happy hour is probably the best time to come because of the specials. They are also one of the few restaurants that offer check in deals on a normal basis. The downside of this place is the pricing. They are overpriced for what they serve. read more

I ate here with my family recently and I have to say it was the worst meal I've ever had in a restaurant. It was the Seared Georges Bank Scallops. The scallops were dried out and the lemon completely overpowered the dish. Honestly, I don't think they used lemon, it tasted more like lime. They must have run out of lemon and substituted lime. Anyway, the flavor was so strong it left a tingling sensation on my lips that I could still feel the following day. Plus, nothing came with the meal. No bread or salad. Unbelievable, I can't remember the last time I went to a restaurant and they didn't bring out a loaf of bread or something similar. I guess they want you to pay for their appetizers instead. Also, the waitress was not very good. When we asked for ketchup for my sons burger, she brought it back and slammed it on the table in front of me. We had the Calamari appetizer and it was excellent! It was an unplanned visit after shopping for furniture in the area and luckily we only had a 15 minute wait. The service was good and the food was great for a chain restaurant. I had Chicken fajitas which came out piping hot and were very tasty. My S.O. had Korean Chicken which he enjoyed but he probably wouldn't order that particular dish again. They have an extensive menu. Overall was OK. What was strange to me was my first time at a restaurant I will order something easy like a cheese burger. I went here with my sister and we decided to split a few small plates, We ordered the hummus and the flatbread with arugula, a side salad, stuffed mushrooms, and the small plate scallops with risotto. I'm a Vegetarian so I tried everything but the scallops, which my sister just loved. The hummus was very bland but the texture was good. The flatbread was soggy and also bland. The salad was good, and the mushrooms were very tasty. We ordered a dessert because my sister loves sweets, and received a cake that would have satisfied four diners. My wife and I have always enjoyed dining at Houlihan's, their "Shrooms" appetizer is always a treat. Tonight I commend the manager for over compensating for a little mix up we experienced. We ordered our entrees to be preceded by a potstickers appetizer. Some time later our entrees arrived with no sign of the potstickers. The manager happened to be passing by and asked if everything was okay. We simply asked "what happened to our appetizer?" He apologized and said he'd check. As soon as he walked away the potstickers were delivered. When he came back with an explanation he apologized again and said we wouldn't be charged for the appetizer. Fair enough. When we had finished our meals the waitress said that not only would the potstickers be free but our choice of desserts were also on the house. The manager came by again to apologize. What would have been a $63 meal cost us $25. Well done Houlihans. read more
