After searching for this shop on this extensive campus (more on that later), I finally located Steeple Coffee House. I'm not sure what I expected, since it was connected to a church- I guess I imagined it might be very ...stuffy. It was not that. Service was friendly, quick and I appreciated the soft music playing the background. The latte was creamy but not oily and the espresso was pulled very nicely. Not too sweet, which is nice considering how many coffee shops just toss as many items into a drink as possible and call it a latte. I hadn't realized this location was open to the public and incorrectly assumed it was for their congregants, only. It is not. Hours are 7a-4p Mon-Fri , Sat: Closed and Sunday have a split schedule. Just when I thought there are no more coffee shops around my house that I haven't been to I found Steeple House Coffee. It's located on the beautiful property of Grace Community Church. I have passed by this church many many times over the last thirty years and Im just finding out about this coffee shop. First I thought it might be just for the church members so I was hesitating, then I read some of the reviews on Yelp and found out it's open to everyone. I ordered a cold brew and loved it. It was so good, they have many drinks to choose from and some pastries. They sell coffee beans, mugs, shirts, tote bags etc. customer service was friendly, parking lot in the back, indoor and outdoor seating is available. Amazing coffee can be found in unexpected places! In the campus of Grace Community Church is the cities best coffee. It's a small place but they have some exquisite coffee from House Roots and Onyx Coffee. Prices are great and their outdoor seating is plentiful. Kinda feel out of place with all of the students from the seminary in suits but the slightly awkwardness was worth the wait and visit. The Americano was nice and I saw them making milk based drinks for other customers and the baristas are skilled here. Customer service was excellent as well. I never even knew this place existed. Tucked away in a plaza inside a church community on Roscoe Blvd. awaits delicious pastries and good coffee. I ordered a vanilla latte, so good. Strong enough and not too sweet. My son ordered a hot chocolate and a chorizo w/cheese croissant. He claims this was THEE BEST hot chocolate he's ever had and you can't help but love the crunchy cheese skirt coming out of the croissant. Everyone here is lovely as you would expect from a coffee shops that's based on a faith community. This is located in a hidden courtyard a few steps from busy Roscoe Blvd. within the Grace Church complex. Park in the back lot by the seminary and go through the quad to the right onto Grace Walk. You'll need to ask for water but they do have free hassle free Wifi. They are open everyday but closed during church services Sunday 8:15 am - 12:00 pm & Sunday 5:45-7:30 pm. Check out the hours in the photo I posted. I've had beautiful lattes here...matcha pistachio was the latest. They have seasonal lattes- Maple during the Fall, Christmas Cookie Latte & Salted Caramel during the winter holidays. They feature OAT MILK! And their pastries are delicious too. I came to this shop to attend a zoom class meeting to take notes, & they baristas were very kind & accommodating! Right off the bat, I noticed that they have Cake Monkey pastries, which is a major plus for me when it comes to LA coffee shops. I got a chocolate croissant with an oat milk cappuccino, which was made perfectly. The shop is on site of a church community area, so many of the patrons were coming in/out between services & other activities. The worship music was very ambient & not distracting/too loud for anyone who is working. I happened to stumble across this shop, since I regularly come to a recording studio in the area. For those Valley dwellers such as myself, Steeple House Coffee serves the best coffee in the entire San Fernando Valley based on selection and the packaged coffee roasters available for purchase. The quality is evident in the choice of beans they choose to serve at this coffee shop. For House Roots Coffee fans in the North Valley, they sell their beans here too. House Roots in Granada Hills usually serves Heart Coffee out of Portland. Steeple usually has Ruby Coffee Roasters on hand, but now they also have beans from a couple other quality coffee roasters. The coffee shop is located inside Grace Community Church in their courtyard. If you're a coffee nerd in the San Fernando Valley, Steeple is well worth your drive. When I say coffee nerd, the coffee nerd type that drinks coffee black without cream or other flavors such as vanilla or matcha to mask the flavors of the coffee.
