I did some looking around on yelp for a smog check station, and this was one of the cheapest with the yelp check in deal, plus it had great reviews. The garage is located sort of in an industrial area and fairly close to the freeway, but it's easy enough to find if you're on the lookout for it. So, I stopped in fairly early on a Monday morning and there was no line and no wait. I explained that I needed a smog check; John took my car out around back and had it completed within 10-15 minutes and it was all clear. After I came in they serviced my car right away, got the whole thing done in 15 min. The mechanic was super nice and attentive. They were not too busy. I am no expert in mechanic but my brake felt weird driving today and i have a 18 months boy I drive in my Ridgeline quite often so safety is very important for me. Needed emergency repair for my old 20 year old car this late afternoon and had it towed here. Gave him a heads up and John was ready and waiting. It was a cracked radiator hose that was fairly difficult to get to. He gave me a more than fair quote especially for immediate attention. This is a newly opened shop (Jan 2016) and I went here based on a convincing recommendation from a friend who knows the owner. The shop is small and located near the intersection of 880 and 101. I needed to get my smog check done in order to renew my registration so I went on yelp to check out some shops. I found HP auto repair on yelp and they had a deal on smog checks. I decided to stop by the shop on my way home from work to see if I could get a smog check done. When into the shop I was greeted by John. I told him I needed a smog check, he asked for my keys and took my car into the shop. He then offered me a soda or water to drink while I waited and in about 15 minutes he was done. I also asked if he could do a vehicle inspection on my car because I saw that he was a Acura and Honda master technician. My Toyota broke down on a Sunday, right near the auto repair shop. I was walking around outside trying to find out if there was an shop that was open in the area. John came out and asked me if I needed help. Long story short, John figured out that my car needed replacement spark plugs and performed the service on the SPOT! I blew a fuse and needed my headlights adjusted. Went to several mechanics, but all of them didnt know what was wrong until they performed a $180 doagnostic fee. I decided to google an acura repair store in hopes for domething cheaper (broke college student), and thats how i found this place. I met with John, and not only did he help me adjust my headlights, he helped me clean my air filter, add in transmission fluid (apparently i was low), find the broken fuse, and replace it, he did it all... heres the catch... FOR FREE!!! This guy was beyond nice and knowledgeable, he was kind, friendly, easy to talk to, and refused my offer to pay him or buy him dinner. AND he offered me a free drink!
