After a long days drive, it was so great to find this unique restaurant!! So near our motel. The waitress was very attentive and congenial. She started this dining experience on a high note. Very shortly our meal was in front of us. And, oh so good it was!!! I left there saying "fabulous, just fabulous!" Full, happy and content are we. Ok the zucchini fries at this place are AMAZING! Had the smoked Turkey HQ sandwich with spicy bbq sauce and coleslaw, it was good. Sweet tea in Mason jars was a nice touch. The cream corn was delicious and original. The macaroni and cheese left something to be desired, velveeta and spiral noodles, dont waste your time. This is real deal legit BBQ passing thru decided to give it a shot and everything is delicious from the wings we ordered which were big tender and the habanero bbq sauce hit the right notes. The only bbq place in the state of Wyoming that's actually worth going to.. pulled pork never disappoints along with that good ass Mac and cheese! yes it's a small place, but with that being said it never disappoints! My waiter was a young man, didn't get his name, who was prompt, friendly, and very attentive without being obnoxious. I ordered the Sunday special which was pulled pork, brisket, with potato salad and creamed corn. Both meats were tender with a nice mild smoke flavor and bark, served with a side of your choice of sauce. I chose the spicy bbq sauce which was tasty, slightly tangy with a mild spice. Included in the meal was a side of cornbread which was moist with a hint of sweetness, served with butter. The potato salad was so good! It was exactly like my mom's recipe. This was some of the best bbq I've ever had. We shared (3 people and still had leftovers) the Texas triple, with zucchini fries and potato salad, and the brisket chili mac. Everything was delicious! All the meats were so good you didn't even need sauce with them, but the sauces were great also. I wasn't sure about the chili mac when it came out as it looked more like chunky salsa but one bite changed my mind. Our waiter was the only one working but he did a great job, very friendly and quick. It's a great stop even if you are just driving through since it's right off the interstate. We decided on HQ based on reviews and were surprised when we drove up to what was clearly a re-envisioned gas station turned restaurant, which was cool. As soon as we were seated, we were greeted with warm corn bread (yum) and a local IPA! I really enjoyed this place. The atmosphere was very inviting and exemplified what a bbq stand should be. It is a converted gas gas station and easy to miss if you're not looking for it. I sat at the bar and was greeted with a local beer in a mason jar and a fresh cornbread. The bartender/waitress was very attentive without being overbearing. She recommended the chili which was outstanding. I ordered the bbq plate and added the additional brisket and creamed corn. The brisket was a bit dry, but I ate there around 6:30 at night so I didn't expect it to be the juiciest. The pork was outstanding though. I ordered the sweet bbq sauce which complimented the pork perfectly. The only downside to the meal was the creamed corn. It was a bit watery and not a whole lot of flavor. First the only reason it got 4 out of 5 stars was the service was a bit on the slow side. However the food made up for that !
