Well this was kind of a bucket list from a my mom Filipino female friend who kept ranting about hubs both here in Chicago and the one in Skokie. Anyways I gave it a try it's decent or meh ok. Service was a bit slow but they did pick up I ordered the chicken kabob since they said that was one of their specialties next to the gyros but I was not in the mood for gyros I was going to try the ribs but it was a little pricey as mentioned service was a bit slow. Ambience is very casual I thought it was some fancy place this is just a local popular franchise that old Filipinos ranted about. I would come back for the ribs maybe but other than that nothing else that's the three stars on this review. Who was good but just average good nothing I would do cartwheels or get excited about. The baklava was average the chicken was good but not a oh wow impressive the chili was just a meh ok

Update: It's amazing how this place is consistently make great food. Today I wanted something different than my usual order of a gyro, so I ordered the beef kebab dinner. The dinner included includes 2 skewers with veggies, tomatoes, onion, pita and tzatziki sauce. I ordered an extra skewers because I didn't know what the portion size of the skewers. The two skewers were plentiful. The beef was tender and juicy. The veggies on the skewers were tender as well. Made in a pita sandwich is where the magic happens. Every thing just works together. I think I discovered another go-to meals at this establishment.

Quality of food needs major improvements! And the cashiers are not friendly. Came to eat lunch with my mother and the Gyro was dissatisfying, way too many onions and barely any gyro meat. I would not recommend.

We stopped here for the gyros, one of the things I miss most from Chicago. Hub's has really good gyros. They also have the most extensive menu of any drive in I've ever seen. From roasted Greek chicken, to seafood platters, to burgers, and shawarma. One day I'll move beyond the gyro and fries but not this trip.

Look, customer service is key and this place has been going downhill for years. Here's what we get: Gyros...good, delicious. Rice pudding...a favorite. Soup...excellent, a staple and usually the real reason we keep ordering. Feta cheese...good stuff. Burgers...Passable. Here's what we've had that sucked: Spaghetti...awful. Ribs...also awful. English fries...soggy and not good. Italian beef and sausage...eww and on a sub roll?? Falafel Plate...quite possibly the WORST falafel I've ever had. I've gotten food poisoning from eating falafel and this was STILL worse. Dry and crumbly...do not attempt...OMG...inedible. Hummus...even worse. Tahini...tasted like chemicals.

Great place to stop in and eat during The Covid-19 pandemic. Located in a nice neighborhood & within walking distance of my cousin's house. We ordered our food, found a seat and awaited our number to be called. Once the number was called, you were required to pick up your food. I found this to be a bit much, but considering the culture of all things COVID, I get it. The food was average, nothing to write home about, but I should've expected that as I ordered a veggie burger from a non-vegetarian restaurant; so ok. The prices were a little higher than I expected, but fair for the neighborhood and the economy in which I was in. Glad to have visited.

Good food and cheap. I would give them 5 stars but the women that work at the front counter are very unfriendly.

Well, unfortunately I couldn't really eat anything. I'm nondairy. I can't eat nightshade vegetables…read moreincluding red bell peppers which are all over the menu here. And I don't eat meats that are made with nitrates. So that knocks out the whole sandwich menu. Oh and I just don't like mushrooms. It's not their problem! Believe me, I know I'm a hot mess. You can't just order a sandwich with chicken and arugula because everything is pre-made and the chicken diced up and is already mixed with red bell peppers, more like a chicken salad sandwich, rather than just a piece of chicken breast waiting for some bread and accoutrements which is what I expected after reading the menu on my phone the day before choosing it for a visit. So it's impossible to get a custom sandwich where you pick and choose what's on it. But they were extremely nice answering all my questions about the food. I could maybe get some focaccia and a side of broccoli if I was desperate and nothing else was open. But I was in no rush and just went home and made something for myself. But my partner really enjoyed it so I'm glad we stopped by to check it out. It's definitely unique and convenient if you don't have so many food allergies like I do. I had already had my coffee fix for the day so I neglected to ask if they have nondairy milk options. There's limited seating inside but lots outside if the weather's nice! Cute little place.

I love to…read morecook and often find myself wanting to make little tweaks to what I'm eating on the rare occasion that I go to a restaurant. From the first bite everything was perfect. Incredible balance of flavors. The crisp finely shredded hash blanketed in quick scrambled eggs and dressed to perfection with chili crisp and slaw made me exclaim aloud with pleasure from the first bite. The cookie has a beautiful variety of textures- crunchy edges with a perfectly restrained sprinkling of coarse sugar on top, a soft center and a lightly browned bottom. Just the right amount of sweetness to bring out but not overpower the corn and berry flavors. The person waiting on me was warm and patient and helped me analyze the hot sauces, which I ended up not needing because my dish was so perfectly executed. This place is a work of art. Please come here. It is so clear that a huge amount of work, vision and love have gone into making this place possible. They truly deserve your business. Oh and for the level of delicious the prices are great. I am frugal with the money I spend food but I would have been racked with guilt to give them a penny less than what they charged.

I love the cozy neighborhood vibe and ambiance, unique food choices, tasty cocktails, and fresh baked goods. I had a delicious (and strong) Irish coffee with a fantastic kale and lemon feta quiche (omg), and my beau enjoyed a wonderfully tangy Bloody Mary with a fresh plate of bagel and lox (and excellent spicy "Chi-kraut"). I was impressed by the portion size, fresh flavors, and food / drink presentation. Love that it has an inside and a patio for warmer weather. Truly a neighborhood gem. So glad I came and plan to come again in the future for more unique flavors. Highly recommend!

I doubt anyone leaves feeling less jolly than they did going in. On this visit, I started with the After Word to drink. It was light-bodied, not at all too sweet, and possibly went down *too* easily. We split the short rib poutine and I can't think of a better dish to get you through the winter. The meat absolutely melted in the mouth and the cheese was abundant and rich. Would order again in a heartbeat! We also tried the alligator bites as a seasonal special. I'd not had alligator before, but they were super crispy and spicy with an addictive gochujang sauce. It really does taste like chicken. If you've ever wanted to try alligator, this is the place to do it. For the main event, I opted for the red beans and rice hand pie. It came with a light, citrus salad and delicious hand cut fries with 3 dipping sauces, which were very fun to try. I loved the buttery pie crust but the filling tasty very tomato forward- I was missing the heat of a traditional red beans & rice and wished there was more seasoning. Still good. As usual, the portions were generous for the price and we left with leftovers. Absolutely recommend making the trek over here to give B&B a try, and will be back soon!

Then I forget for a few months, find another $20, end up stumbling across this place again and going "why don't I come here more?" This has happened three times. The most important part though- it's real tasty. Always. I'd say all of it, but I'm still working my way through the menu, but the burgers and Mac never let me down. The servers are always really laid back, and nothing feels rushed. I think it's part of the charm; somewhere to go and relax and take your time to enjoy the vibe. And you know what would help the vibe even more? Including the bread pudding on the menu full time. Keeping that bad boy stocked for me at all times. (This time was my first time seeing it on the specials menu and listen, it WAS special. So special that you should upgrade it to mainstay is all.)
