I've been to this specific Hudson House location 12-15 times in the last 2 years. The service, food, ambiance, and experience are always on point. I've left positive reviews before, but today's meal warrants another. Grayson, our waiter, knocked it out of the park. Hudson House has become my new favorite! Especially around the holidays. Their location on Lovers always has the cutest decorations. It will definitely get you in the Christmas spirit. But aside from that the food is soooo good!!! I ordered the Hudson House salad at the Addison location and then went to the Lovers location for brunch and their French toast was one for the books. I seriously have never seen French toast this thick in my LIFE! It was a game changer and I loved it. Plus, their brunch cocktails were also so perfect! I can't say anything bad about this place. We went to Frisco location yesterday. Very busy so we sat at the bar - had a great bartender! I had the Dynamite Shrimp appetizer and the Stone Fruit martini - OMG, delicious!! I don't even like sriracha, but I do now. The level of spice on the shrimp and the salad was perfect. The martini was so refreshing and delicious. I'd go back just for these two items, and perhaps the chicken parm after reading one of the reviews. :). It was a bit loud in there even at lunchtime - they were packed! - but it was fine. read more

Went back again two weeks later for my mom's 79th birthday lunch and it was just as fantastic at the first time. This is what we ordered: -Shrimp cocktail - fresh, lovely, great sauces. -Burger - holy moly, this was fabulous. We had seen mixed reviews on this and I am SUPER picky about burgers so I was a bit hesitant, but MAN. Worth it. So so good. The perfect "Instagram burger" - lots of meat, lots of cheese, onions, and sauce. Beautiful. -Lobster benedict - one of our friends ordered this the first time we were here and my mom got it this time. Confirmed utterly and consistently delicious. Fingerling potatoes also great. -Greek salad - my one complaint, Hudson House... toooooo many olives. I mean, yikes. I actually ate a bunch of them alone so that when I ate the rest of the salad there weren't too many mixed in throwing off the flavor. Other than that, though, it was a really good dish. -French silk pie - brought out with a fun sparkler for the birthday girl, but more importantly, freaking YUM. I don't know if they make it fresh in house and I do not care. I would order that pie over and over. I am also once again amazed at how busy it gets, yet not only does service stay quick and friendly, somehow it also never seems too loud to carry on a nice conversation. SO disappointed. Went with two friends for an early dinner. It was still Happy Hour so we decided to have drinks before dinner. The bar had no stools available but there were plenty of empty tables in the bar. However the receptionist told us we could only get Happy Hour prices if we sat at the bar, where there were no seats available. If we sat at a table in the bar, we'd have to pay full price. I absolutely LOVE Hudson House! We recently went to Hudson House for a triple date/parents night out and it was such a great choice. I am still salivating thinking about all the food. So let's start there. FOOD! We started with an assortment of oysters, which were fresh and delicious. I loved the mignonette and the oysters were the perfect size to get in one slurp. For my entree, I got the Beverly salad. Fresh, crisp, perfectly dressed and surprisingly filling. My husband got the cheeseburger and the truffle parm fries. I did not try the cheeseburger, but he didn't seem to have any complaints. I did try the fries, and they were delicious! The fries were flavorful and crisp (which I have an affinity for fat, greasy fries, but these got my stamp of approval). Other food ordered at the table were the lobster roll, Rutherford's Club, and chicken parm. Let me tell you what stole the show...THE CHICKEN PARM. In fact, I am craving it so much, that I've made another date to go back and get the entire entree for myself. For dessert, we got the key lime pie, which I also highly recommend. Even my husband, who usually does not like key lime pie was a fan! Drink wise, we got the French 75 and Spicy Mexican. Both were very delicious and fresh drinks that paired perfectly with our meal. Everything about this restaurant is special. Their menu is small but anything that you pick will be the great. They claim to have the coldest martinis and after tasting three in a row, I agree. The lemon drop martini has a foam on top that is one of kind yumminess. read more

This restaurant was 5 stars from start to finish!! We had a reservation for our daughters birthday. She spoke with Vince, the manager and chef, to make the reservation. Upon arrival, he came and greeted us and seated us. On the call for the reservation, Vince asked our daughter if she liked champagne, and she said yes. Vince had our table ready for 4 and 4 glasses of champagne, and it was a pleasant surprise and excellent champagne!! Our waiter, Grayson, had a great personality. He introduced himself and took excellent care of us. We ordered drinks first. I had a dirty martini, and our daughter had the lemon drop martini. They have a specialty martini menu and drink menu. Drinks were delicious. We started with appetizers of a dozen Malpeque oysters (Grayson explained all the different oysters on the menu) and popcorn chicken. Everything was delicious. Our entrees were the chicken parm, Mac n cheese, double cheeseburger, skinny fries, and Beverly salad with grilled shrimp. Everything came out hot! The sauce on the chicken parm was delicious. The chicken was so tender. They are known for their cheeseburgers, too. It was cooked to perfection. So juicy and flavorful!!! The Beverly salad was fresh and delicious. For the birthday girl, they brought out the chocolate mousse pie with a sparkler! The pie was so good, smooth texture, great chocolate cookie crust. topped with fresh whipped cream. A nice surprise. Vince came out and checked on us multiple times! They closed at 9, but we were the last ones there until 9:30. They didn't rush us out and let us enjoy our evening. Wow, how have I lived in this area for so long and not known about this place? I loved everything about the food, service, and ambiance. The only downside is the price! $140 for dinner & drinks for two isn't exactly what I was expecting, but dang... everything was on-point so I can't complain. Their happy hour only goes until 5pm and is very limited. According to our friends, it used to be $6 burgers until 6pm. Now it's $10 burgers until 5pm. Not quite as good of a deal but given the overall price point of the menu I'd try to make it before 5 if you can. Loved my Paloma cocktail-- would highly recommend. I'll be back! read more

In town for business and a friend took me to this location for Happy Hour. Oysters were very fresh and tasted fantastic! We sat at the bar and bartenders were extremely attentive and made sure to constantly check in out drinks as they got low. The old fashioneds took forever to come out and were average at best.The chicken parm with the spicy vodka sauce was delicious but it caused double bucket syndrome as soon as I got home. NOT GOOD. Husband said his burger (!) was not good and the coleslaw was full of all the parts of the cabbage nobody wants to eat. In contrast, after deciding we would never return to Hudson House, we ended up with friends at the HH in FW. Burger was great, coleslaw was good, and drinks were good. Thinking Addison needs some new management. While sitting at the oyster bar in Addison i watched as someone returned their sushi with 1/2 of one piece not eaten, three other pieces not touched. They replaced the 1/2 eaten piece and sent the whole dish back out. i felt sorry for whoever sent it back. They got the same plate. Moral of the story: go to FW and skip Addison. I've been wanting to try Hudson House for their happy hour, and finally got around to it last week. My boyfriend and I came around 3pm to catch the beginning of their Happy Hour, because we tried to go with a friend last month and at 5:30pm the whole place is crowded and packed. The service could be a bit more friendly, hence the 4 stars. Some of the oysters were a little on the small side (I'm from the East Coast, I realize it's difficult to get raw oysters out in Texas and glad this spot has them, but definitely used to a bit bigger ones) The overall taste of the oysters were good. We ordered 12 oysters; 2 of each (6 East Coast oysters types are available on the card describing each flavor profile). It was very organized based on color, which I appreciated. Overall, I would return for Happy Hour because the frozen Bellini drink also was great and half off $5, and the Martinis are half off as well. To sum it up: glad TX has this spot for good east coast oysters! Try it out, the decor has a nautical blue theme which is nice, and also good aesthetic for photos read more

High price tag, yet delectable eats. Skinny fries are my favorite, and they were the star of the show tonight. We ordered white truffle and regular skinny fries. The regular seemed to be just seasoned salt and the white truffle added a depth of flavor. The "fish tacos" was actually more of a burrito--maximizing the amount of substance in the meal. Blackened Atlantic cod and fresh coleslaw wrapped in an egg-roll typed wrap that was seared, not deep fried, offered the perfect balance. The fish taco order also comes with a side salad with grated sharp cheese on top. The sauce it was served with was amazing too. We also ordered the cheeseburger with basic yet fresh ingredients. Cheeseburger side = spiced half pickle. Banana nut espresso was interesting. If you like coffee it is for you, but could've used more banana. Service was wonderful. The staff was polite and offered us a drink while we were waiting on our table. Our glasses were never empty I really liked the patio area where we were sitting, but it was hot in the Dallas heat. The ambiance was fitting for seafood, but also remained a modern bar-type feel. I can't speak for the inside, but the patio was loud. Mixed bag of experiences here today, ultimately it puts the experience as an uncomfortable one for me, thus the 3 rating. I ordered a burger with a side of Mac and cheese. I only ordered the Mac and cheese because our server told me it was amazing. When they brought the food, guess what, they forgot the Mac and cheese. It was 10 minutes before the server checked on us, but before then I had flagged down the manager. Ultimately I finished the burger, and then they told me it would be about 5 minutes before my Mac and cheese would be done. They brought the bill, taking half off and said they would give me the Mac and cheese when it was done. I was ready to leave though so I told them to keep it, paid and left. The burger was just ok. Service was awful. Came to the bar and was not even given a hello for 10 min. Then it seemed they didn't want us to order before happy hour was up. We got there at 5:30 and it ends at 6. We were served our drinks at the same time as a couple that walked in 20 min later. The bartenders didn't seem to care about anyone but the people at the straight part of the bar. Food was not good. The first visit is why this isn't a 1 star review. I'll separate both experiences. 1st visit: Our waitress was amazing, the oysters were a bit overpriced in my opinion but tasty. The salmon was delicious and my French chicken was so amazing. Our waitress handmade the lemonade and did a great job. Super refreshing. The experience had us running back the next week, and I wish we hadn't. 2nd visit: My wife had the chicken parm and said it was good, but my French chicken was dry and not very good. I was sorely disappointed that the waitress we got did not know how to do the lemonade and said as much when she brought it out. I tentatively took a sip and it was disgusting. She just said I don't know how to make it and asked what else we wanted. Super annoying.
