Lovely cafe right by the marina. We saw a cute otter sunbathing and rolling around outside and were very excited. I had the wilted spinach and greens salad with beets, potatoes, walnuts, feta and added shrimp. It was super delicious and filling. I tried my sisters' mussels and oyster stew which were also good. The Hudson Point Cafe has been successfully serving breakfast to locals and visitors alike for many years. Earlier this year the veteran owner of many years retired and turned the operation over to the Mom and Son team of Laura and Luke Flanagan. Laura, restaurant veteran herself, worked at the cafe for many years. Son Luke is a budding chef who has several years of restaurant cooking experience, including a couple of years at Hudson Point. His kitchen credentials were on display in the excellent omelette I enjoyed. It was fluffy, toothsome and filled with a nice array of sautéed veggies and fresh avocado, accompanied by a serving of home fries, sourdough toast and a very good, brewed, decaf coffee. The cafe serves breakfast M-F from 8 AM until 11:30 AM. Lunch is served until 2 PM. Saturday and Sunday are Brunch days! I certainly feel like the Christmas Grinch - Bah Humbug! Hudson Point is another highly rated restaurant that we felt didn't live up to the hype. The restaurant is very rustic and located at the far corner of the Port Townsend Harbor. It has all the appearance and feel of a very special place. However, the food was just okay. First, the Boatyard Hash. It was a mess. 2 eggs sit on top of a heap of bacon, potato, bell peppers, mushrooms, onions and topped with cheese. First, the eggs were cooked well, not medium like we ordered. The dish was very greasy. There's a layer of grease at the bottom of the dish. If you're a bacon lover and don't mind grease, this might be for you. The crab cake benedict was also a disappointment. This is not the lump crab cake variety. The crab meat is mixed with filler and it's hard to tell how much crab is there. The texture is soft and mushy like. And like the hash, the poached eggs were well done! I'd avoid this one. The oyster scram was better. Whole oysters of small to medium size are scrambled with bacon, egg and also topped with cheese. The buttermilk waffle was a hit with our son. It was served hot and crisp. All the dishes, except for the waffles, were served with red potato. They don't have hash browns which is my preferred style of breakfast potato. The menu indicated coffee only comes with one refill. I couldn't tell if this was enforced but I only got 1 refill. For a breakfast place, the one refill policy is ridiculous. And it's not like the mugs are of a generous size. I can easily polish off 4 - 5 cups in those measly mugs. Overall, Hudson Point is worth a try. Depending on what you order, just be forewarned the dish can be heavy and greasy. read more

Food was ok, except eggs were liquid, or powder?? They know they have a captive audience and they really could care less about you. We were staying at the adjacent RV Park, and thought we would go have breakfast 90 minutes before we had to clear out of our spot. They were busy, but we only had to wait a few minutes before being seated. The bus boy, who was leading us to our table, brought us to a dirty table first, then on to a clean table back where we had started. It's such a tiny place you can see every table, so we were confused as to why we were cruising the restaurant lol Once seated we were ignored for at least fifteen minutes. Oh the waitress and the bus boy walked by us, but would not make eye contact to acknowledge our existence. When the waitress, who should not be a waitress, finally came to take our order, she rolled her eyes as to say she knows it's been a long time, but is refusing to verbally say it out loud. It pretty much went like this for the next hour and 15 minutes. Trying to get our drinks after thirty minutes was a challenge. I flagged down the busboy and asked for our coffee and ice tea, he didn't say anything but stomped back to the kitchen to bring us back two cups of coffee, and no ice tea. Slid them on the table and ran away before we could say anything. Took another ten minutes to get the cream and my iced tea. We got our meal so late, that I had to Wolfe it down to get out of our spot in time to not get charged an extra day. They are super strict at the Marina. We had fifteen minutes to do what normally takes us 30-40 minutes. My boyfriend had them box his meal up, as he lost his appetite waiting for so long, knowing we had to rush. I gave her my cc as she dropped the food off and asked for her to run it. She didn't come back for a wellness check, or to deliver the hot sauce my boyfriend asked for. Forty five minutes in the restaurant cleared out, and we thought, great, now we will get some service. Nope! She was either chatting with some locals, or was nowhere to be found. All the tables were dirty, no one was cleaning anything, I think they all went on break. We had to hunt her down to get her to run my cc that I had given her earlier. Not one apology, just Alot off rolling of the eyes from every staff member that we tried to get to help us. Don't waste your time eating here. read more

We walked in and were seated. The sever was not friendly, border line rude. They were out of the first three requests my wife made. We waited 45 minutes, and then the food was average at best. So unfortunate this happened because the wait staff were VERY kind and attentive and busy because it was Sunday brunch time. The wait was 20-25 minutes for a table so I opted for take-out. All I wanted was 4 scrambled eggs (I know, weird, but I'm on a special diet for medical reasons). I pay, get my eggs in a reasonable time, and head to my car overlooking the marina. Open the box, take a bite, and yuck! I suspect it was powdered eggs, or maybe liquid eggs from a carton? The taste and texture was awful. Seriously folks, you charged me $6.55 and you had to take the cheap route and not even give me real eggs? Poor decision in a town full of great places for breakfast/brunch. Just stop. read more

This little cafe was delicious. We found it by using Yelp and boy were we happy! The cafe is a little rundown but this does not affect the food. We waited for 30 minutes for a table and then sat down. The waitresses were only 3 of them so they all took care of us. The food plates are big portions and so savory. We really enjoyed this place. It's just outside of town. It is a quaint spot and we happened to get there as they opened so seating was not an issue. I had the corn beef hash- which was fantastic- with fresh sour dough - highly recommended. The girls had pancakes and yogurt and my wife had the salmon hash. All hits. Nice place next to Doc's especially if they put their tables back after the pandemic. The entrances are on the marina (back) side of the building. You can get waffles with rhubarb sauce on top which is my wife's favorite. The rest of the fare is normal cafe food but I have never been disappointed. read more

My wife and I stopped in here for breakfast before doing a bit of tourist shopping. Free parking can be found in the gravel parking lot. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Entrance is from two different doors and self-seating. We dined here on off-season so we were lucky to be seated right away. Staff members are extremely casually dressed. I found the young male staff member wearing basketball shorts, a sloppy t-shirt and dirty tennis shoes to be visually unkempt and too casual in my opinion. Seating is either booth or tables. The table that we sat at had a fun local map as the tablecloth. My wife and I each ordered a cup of coffee for $2.50 each (one free refill) with half and half. We shared the Boat Yard Hash for $12.50: two eggs, diced red potatoes, crumbled bacon, mushrooms, onions, sweet red pepper, spinach and white cheddar cheese. We chose wheat bread as our side. The orange slice was a nice touch that I happily devoured. Absolutely delicious and filling. We also ordered a side order of Italian Sausage Links (qty 2) for $5.50. Our server Cynda was efficient, friendly and knowledgeable in her responses to my questions regarding Port Townsend. Good solid breakfast. There was no wait and we were seated promptly when we arrived around 10ish. Our server was great. She made sure our coffee and water was always full and that we had everything from the time we sat down. They're busy and on a mission, so don't expect too much chit chat from them. The wait for food was average (20 minutes), but it goes by quick with good company and by watching the boats going in and out. Once the food arrived I perked up and dove in. I ordered the Marine Omelet and it was very well done. Fresh ingredients, loved the leeks, peppers, mushrooms and avocado. It made me ponder why I don't use leeks when cooking....what the heck is wrong with me?! My partner in crime had the crab cakes. He stated that they were "tasty" and "awesome" and that he wished he could have more. With a blend of tourists and locals, this wee little cafe is must visit gem in Port Townsend. read more

We arrived late breakfast early lunch time and were not even greeted as we stood by the door for at least 15 minutes. THere was another woman there and she was also being ignored. They were almost full but I did see one or two empty tables. I tried getting the attention of 3 people and they clearly were ignoring. Yes, they were busy, but, common respect and great business manners demand a greeting, and an explanation of them being busy but soon able to seat us. There was NEVER a greeting from any of the staff. We were clearly in all of their view. They all seemed angry. This is the rudest I have ever been treated. We live in the area an will not be returning ever. We will tell all to not bother - even when they become not busy. read more

Will not be back. This is my least favorite type of restaurant. The type ~ that knows it has a captive audience so they could care less about you. There's an adjoining marina & rv park, & Bed & Breakfasts. In a very touristy town. I was in shock about the level of indifference from all staff members. Not just one grumpy server, it was the whole group of employees treating you with disrespect. We were there on a Tues morning. It was a little busy when we got there. 3-4 empty, but still dirty tables. 6-7 tables of customers. We walked in, weren't greeted, tried to get someone's attention, was finally told, "there's a list". Ok. Found list, added our name, which was the only name, sat down to wait. And watched the staff, not clean tables, holler rudely to new people "THERE's A LIST", stroll around, not clean tables, never interact with us in any way, like, "just a few more minutes", or, "thanks for waiting", or, a smile maybe? Sat there for 25 minutes. Restaurant cleared out. Everyone almost all gone. More tables not being cleared, servers/staff slowly moving around, not doing much. So painful to watch how cold they were. How inefficient. When you drop a ticket at a table, you grab a few plates. You pre-clear. Nothing of the sort going on here. We finally got sat. Menu choices were fun. Many items looked good. Hubby ordered Huevos Rancheros. Small. But ok. I ordered hash & eggs. Hash was pretty good. I asked for scrambled eggs ~ they weren't real eggs!! Boxed? Powdered? Bagged? Who knows. But they weren't eggs in my world. Why?? WHY NOT REAL EGGS!?!? Server continued with the theme of the day. Cold & uncaring. Took order, dropped food. That's it. No check backs. No inquiries. Zero personality. If you don't care that I'm there. I won't care enough to ever come back. But that's the problem, isn't it? You know they'll be another customer to replace me. From the adjacent marina & RV park. And most of them don't live there. So why be nice? read more

The oysters were okay, but too watery. The eggs were okay. Generally very forgettable in every aspect. Not bad, but if you are going out to eat for an experience or for particularly good food, eat elsewhere. They fry their bacon okay. It's just not comparable to other places nearby. It's fine. I wouldn't recommend against it, but I wouldn't recommend for it either. It would be good if you REALLY liked the view. read more

Our waitress forgot to put in our drink order, so we didn't get that either for more than 30 mins. The breakfast here is perfect every time! For lunch These guys make a clam chowder that is most excellent! It's surprisingly good but not your traditional clam chowder.
