This is our favorite place for breakfast in PT. The food is outstanding and the view can't be beat. People are complaining about the service....we have NEVER had poor service....but it is not fast food....if you want to relax and enjoy a meal...this is the place for you. We have been to Point Hudson Cafe for breakfast a lot over the last 5 years and they have always been slow at getting your food out, but they were good about getting you a morning beverage and refills. This morning, however, not only did we have to ask for a coffee, they lost our order and and didn't even figure it out. We had to say something when people who were seated after us got their food. We heard from a colleague that this was a great cafe, but he warned there is usually a wait to be seated. We looked up opening time to make sure we would arrive early enough for a good seat. Turns out, that didn't help us one bit! We arrived at 0730 and were the first in line to be seated when they opened at 0800. Instead of, I don't know, developing a fair method of ordering (maybe hand out numbers), they just sat the flood of people at once. We ended up being close to the last to get our orders taken AND we were the LAST to receive our food at 0920. Literally people who were seated during the second wave were getting their food at the same time as us. Absolutely ridiculous. Then to make matters worse, the scramble was subpar and not worth the cost. The ONLY thing they did right was constantly have our water and coffee filled. Never again. read more

In town for the Thing Festival, looking for a place that my wife and kids will enjoy. Long lines pretty much everywhere so during tourist season and events expect to wait, and it could be a long wait. Plan to get there before you are hungry and take a walk around the point, it's beautiful. The menu is extensive enough to make everyone happy and their standard issue coffee is fine. It's not too loud, but it is a bit packed in so not great for wheelchairs. I believe they have outdoor seating but we sat inside so call ahead if you are specifically wanting to sit outdoors. The service was fine and though no food stood out head and shoulders above any other, it was all good and filling. read more

A friend and I stopped to have breakfast here. I had not been there since it was the Otter Crossing years ago. I said lets give this place a try. We have been trying different places to eat. It was about 11:00 am and this place was hopping! I think there was only one table that was open. So many different things to choose from. Hot cakes, omelettes, eggs, so many things you can not list it all. I had hotcakes. Those things were super huge!!!! My friend had eggs and toast and home made jelly. He was happy about that. :-) And the coffee wasnt your typical cuppa Joe. Nice bite to it. Perfect way to start your day! I walk in to place a to go order/ take out and the food server was not only rude, he ( dark brown wavy hair to his shoulders) was beyond condescending and dismissive as he very arrogantly stated, 'we DON't do to go orders!!' And when I mentioned the sign placed at the entrance he loudly repeated , 'we DON'T do to go orders and abruptly walked away. I am a local who has frequented this establishment regularly over the last three years and while the food is acceptable, the service is really poor... the staff consistently acts like they are doing you a favor and have a 'take it or leave it ' attitude especially the guy who treated me so terribly today. My family and I will not be back until management/ownership addresses their lack of customer service and remove this awful employee from their server team. The one star rating is generous! read more

What a great little place right on the marina. While we were having breakfast, two otters came up on the shore in front of the window. We had breakfast. I had a salmon omelette and it was delicious. I also got bacon on the side and it was good to my wife. God a breakfast burrito and loved it. It's a great atmosphere well known by the locals was nice friendly staff. The food came out hot and timely and we did not feel that we had to wait too long or that we were rushed. I highly recommend it for a nice breakfast in Port Townsend. read more

We came for breakfast, pre_Covid. The food was pretty good, but what we remember most is the ridiculously long wait for our breakfast to arrive. They weren't terribly busy, and two groups that came in after we had ordered not only got their food before we did, but had already eaten and left before our food came! One fellow kept looking over at us, and sort of smiled apologetically. After he'd eaten, he stopped by our table and said he was terribly sorry, and claimed he had never seen anyone receive such slow service. No employee ever stopped by our table to explain or apologize, and no one brought us water or coffee. In short, the food was spendy but good. The service was terrible. We have patience if there seems to be a reason- if a waitress is too busy, or maybe new. But everyone else was being served and we were not. We won't go back for this reason. read more

This restaurant has consistently good food. I love their kale salad so much I'd order just that for a meal. Their burgers are really good and it has been our "Go-to" since we moved here. On a recent trip to Port Townsend, was able to find this great place with a little help from Yelp. It's well reviewed with a great location. It's kind of tucked away in some repurposed Army facilities right on the outskirts of town. The views just steps out the door are great and there's plenty of beach around for your family to play on while they wait to get a table. Once seated, you'll find that the place is quite small, but has a lively staff of very accommodating people. They're super helpful as you pick out just the right thing on the menu and your water or drinks never get low while you wait. The food is pretty good and they do a good job getting it out fast and hot. I really enjoyed this place, it's not a standard kind of restaurant, it's definitely got some character. read more

Hudson Point Cafe serves only breakfast and lunch. On weekends they are open 8AM to 2PM and serve brunch only, so only breakfast food. On weekdays they are open 8AM to 3PM with separate times for breakfast and lunch. All other times we had breakfast here, so this was our first lunch. My wife had the Flame Broiled Coho Salmon and found it very good. I went with one of their specials, the Ultimate Cheeseburger, which had a bit of everything including avocado and also found it very good. The service was solid. We both enjoyed our meals but felt their breakfast choices were better, or maybe we just think of it as a breakfast place. Anyway, we will be back. read more

I'm sure it's difficult to be all "peace and light" when there's such high demand and tourist traffic. A month ago Motoflocka A commented that the espresso machine was down - it's STILL down! The view is mostly of sailboats, but it's still kinda cool. It was a little overcast, so it's probably gorgeous on a clear day. I ordered Smokin' Joe's Scram (and got it 20 minutes later...); it was okay. Normally, I don't add salt and pepper, but errrummmma... As close to a perfect breakfast experience as I could have gotten! The espresso machine down was the biggest issue. Service was stellar, hot coffee and cold water kept coming and the food was fantastic! I had the boat dock - eggs on top of a delicious mass of potatoes and veggies, an English muffin and jam on the side. Massive portion - embarrassingly enough I managed to nearly finish it all. The location is fabulous and the place has a great vibe. The wait staff is nice and generally friendly. The food is not that great though but we continue to go just to hang with friends that like their food it's just not that great for vegans or those who want to get in and out in under an hour. Cons: It takes a long time to get your food so be prepared even if they aren't busy. We waited for 2 hours to get our food on one occasion. Sadly there aren't that many options for vegans. The veggie sauté they offer for breakfast has a sesame flavor which is an odd choice for a breakfast option. It wouldn't be that bad except the tofu isn't marinated nor cooked properly. As a vegan who's traveled all over the world, you know when a chef knows how to cook vegan food well. I'm pretty sure they just boil or place the tofu in the sauté pain after cooking the veggies. It tastes like tofu straight out of the package and despite what people may think - vegetarians don't like plain tofu. I don't understand how this item has been on the menu so long... I am looking forward to the day they have more vegan options that are also gluten free too. read more

The food was ok, if a little bit unusual. The service was better than what I expected from the reviews but still came up short. I was disappointed that they don't serve breakfast all day long as this was what drew us into the place at about 1pm. My wife had clam chowder, typically one of her favorite dishes. Even though she read that the clams were served in the shell, she was surprised at what arrived. The chowder was more of a broth/wine based affair than the milk type of chowders she enjoys more. While it wasn't bad, it's not something she would order again. I had the curried chicken sandwich. Again, tasty but a little unusual - it's described as grilled chicken with some veggies and spices. I was a little surprised it was more like chicken salad than grilled chicken - served cold. It was tasty and the roll was fresh. I may have had higher expectations of the place after reading the reviews here and would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't. (I wouldn't have gone in at all had it not been for the high reviews, however). We enjoyed the scenery and had a nice lunch. We'll probably try some of the other local offerings before going back to this one, unless it's breakfast (or Sunday Brunch) read more

"Best breakfast in Port Townsend?" Count me in! Asked a local where to go before hitting the road home, and they directed us to Hudson Point Cafe. Got in our car, headed around the marina, and there it was, tucked away in all its cute glory. I never would have known it was a restaurant except for the signs - it looks like a private residence. Breakfast specials are written on a chalkboard on the wall. And of course, they have all of the breakfast staples. Went with buttermilk pancakes with a side of bacon and potatoes. Holy moly; the portions are huge! I had three massive plates greet me just moments later, and I ended up taking a box to go. My boyfriend cleaned his plate (white cheddar and ham scramble); it must have been terrible. Haha. Prices were very decent, and service was outstanding. And believe it or not, it wasn't terribly crowded. Looks like a lot of locals enjoy dining here on the weekends. Would love to go back and sit outside when the weather is better.
