Don't know what happened to this company. We have used them since 1980's Well they just lost a long time customer. I am sure they dont care as the person who answered the phone clearly didn't. The person who answeres your phone is a representative of your company and if they're willing to let a long time client go and not care there's a problem. Our AC started blowing hot air on Saturday afternoon in the dead of summer. I knew places would be busy and steeled myself for the worst. I described the issue to Brian on the phone and he explained he'd try to squeeze us in - yes, on the same day! Within an hour, Scott was knocking on our door to repair our unit. He quickly diagnosed and fixed the issue (faulty capacitor) and we had cold air again. The price was fair, especially given the speed of the service. Everyone was friendly and professional. I felt taken care of and wouldn't hesitate to use them again in the future. I know it's an especially busy time of year for them and appreciate that they went above and beyond to solve our issue. If our problem was more complex than a faulty capacitor I'm not sure same-day service would have been possible (nor would I have that expectation - not everything can be done immediately!), but I trust they'd respond with urgency to any request, big or small. Used to be a decent company. They wanted to take a new fan motor that they charged me $900 for the month before that was installed on my old unit. The old unit went out, we bought a new unit, it was installed. They left old unit in front yard for 2 days while garbage pickers dismantled it. Never heard a word from them after install. I found a reputable company to service the new unit that was installed. read more

My first experience with this company. I have been very leery of AC companies as many have a tendency to rip people off and find mystery repairs that cost an arm and a leg. This was a great experience though. My AC was still working but being 15 years old. It was due to be replaced. I got prices from three different companies Arizona refrigeration was substantially cheaper than the others and for the most highly rated unit on the market. The personnel all were very professional and knowledgeable and didn't try to oversell me For more than I really needed. I got A 12 year warranty which is two more years than others. And a two-year maintenance agreement at no charge for two years. I would highly recommend them read more

I'm so thankful to this company! Friday afternoon our AC quite working (100+ degree weather). I Called the AC service my sister uses and they said they couldn't come out until Sunday late morning. I purchased a brand new unit from AZ refrigeration 5 years ago. I was given a 10 year warranty. I have always used them you yearly time ups. This time I was told I have a leak and my warranty was parts only. I was never given any option when they sold my system to me. They quoted me 1500 labor and refrigerant. I asked how long the job would take and was told that it is a 4 hour job. This is a system that is only 5 years old so the refrigerant can't be that much. The technician could not give me a break down on the quote. I feel like the new system was misrepresented in regards to the warranty and like they are trying to over charge me on a 4 hour job. The technician never checked the unit operation before he left and a few hours later I discovered that there is now NO cooling at all. I called them back and they sent another tech out 4 hours later. He discovered that the previous technician had shorted a transformer when he reassembled the unit. Mistakes happen but had he checked before he left it would have been discovered. Update I spoke to a service manager who gave me a big run around on how they have to pay for the parts and get reimbursed. Yada yada. He told me that they charge a flat rate for certain jobs regardless of time required. He informed me that it is priced for the harder jobs and we negotiated a better price. They came out quickly and completed the work. I am still not completely satisfied with the situation or the price but feel like I am stuck since I bought the unit from them. In all fairness I did change the review from 1 to 2 stars only because they did work a little on final price. read more

I recently installed a new Amana AC unit. AZ Refrigeration SVC was one of the 3 quotes I received. Their quote was one of the lowest. I have also been a customer of theirs for about 25 years and have never felt like they have take advantage of me by over selling products or recommending something I don't need. Their service staff is very trustworthy. So I used them to install my new unit having confidence in their company. I was not disappointed! The ARS installation staff was courteous, knowledgeable, and professional! Santos, Geraro and Dale removed the old system and installed the new one in about 9 hours. They and the Crane business were careful when removing and installing the AC units. They didn't leave until everything was working and they cleaned up the worksite. They even swept my garage and removed debris! I was pleasantly surprised how clean everything looked when they were finished. They were very careful not to damage anything! A few weeks later, Dale returned to check the system and make sure everything was functioning according to the manufacturer's specifications. It was no surprise that everything was working perfectly! I would definitely recommend ARS for new AC system installations and maintenance service. I give them 5 stars out of 5!! Thank you ARS staff!! read more

Update to last review 5 months later the blower went out on our fairly new ac unit we purchased in may 2016 from this company for $8000.There is a heat advisory today, its 81 degrees in the house and Im sure will only get hotter.Repair guy tells me no way to get part to fix till Monday.I have babies in the house......this company just keeps getting worst and worst! We had a great experience with Arizona Refrigeration Service! One of our a/c units failed and a tech came out the same day. He was up front with the issue and provided a quote with no pressure. My wife and I got a second quote and the earlier AZRS quote beat it by a mile. We ordered our units last night and AZRS arrived at my home at 8am this morning, right when they said they would. The installation crew was professional, courteous and cleaned up after they were done. Besides the new units, you could not tell they were at our home. Repairman was a nice enough guy but when I did some cost comparison for the AC fan replacement done for us, seems we were charged $200 more than the highest replacement cost I found out there. Likely be going elsewhere next time we need work done. read more

I called Arizona Refrigeration at 7am and got a call back around 8:18am on Sunday July 31st. I was told that they could be out between 10A-12N to look at my air conditioning unit that isn't working. I told them my 84 year old parent lives in the house and she must have a/c. They had a job before mine so I understood and was elated they would be able to come out on a Sunday. It's now 3PM and they still aren't here. I called once around 2pm and was told they would be out shortly...that never happened. I've put another call into another air conditioning company that said they would send someone out right away. House is now 83 degrees and a LOT OF TIME has been wasted. Don't believe Stefanie when she tells you they will be out between 10A-12N. There's no way one repair job takes from 10A to 3PM or whenever they're finished. read more

Dishonest, Chauvinism and Manipulating Customers to sell new units- not a repair service as much as new sales. We have several investment properties. Last year they talked us into a new unit saying savings would be 30% off electricity. Not true negligible. Sold our tenants first to place pressure on us. Last week same thing. Needed lines cleaned and a new pan. Tech charged a diagnostic fee to measure the pan and clear lines. Before looking at unit tried to sell us a new one stating the unit was 20 years old (house is only 16 years old and itwas rebuilt 2 years ago)... Service called saying they needed to measure pan again. Instead of expert sent tech that sold us last unit out to sell new one again. Again, tried saying it was a 20 year old unit and would save 30% in front of tenants to pressure us into a new unit. When we said no quoted 1/2 the price of a new unit to replace a drip pan and clear the lines we already paid them to clear but apparently they didn't. Will never use these guys again. They are into selling new units not maintenance or repairs. The AC works fine. When it is ready we will replace it - just not with these guys.... Update another AC company came and the cost of the pan was $135 in lieu of the $1500+ they quoted us. At least do yourself a favor and get a 2nd Opinion! read more

Worst of all the parts that were were not covered under warranty for my brand new AC unit even though the tech said that they were clearly defective from the manufacturer. Dale had come out to do my tune up on a brand new home we bought. He told me that unfortunately he could not run my maintenance due to the fact that I had some duct issues. He showed me photos of where I was missing a Plenum in my attic. Apparently this is the piece that attaches the ducting to the air handler, from my understanding. There was nothing there but falling off duct tape! We added a return to my Master Bedroom to optimize efficiency, fixed a code violation my Home Inspector completely missed (he obviously missed the shotty ductwork too) and added wet switches. The price was reasonable and the work was done wonderfully. I have had other Technicians out to my home to run my bi-annual maintenances and I have been happy with each one. In my opinion your often get what you pay for, pay cheap and get cheap work, pay for quality and get quality. For your HVAC why go cheap?? That is just silly talk!! I can't imagine trusting my system to anyone other than Arizona Refrigeration Service! read more

Their service was prompt, but the whole experience left me with an icky feeling. The worker who came out did not speak with me in a courteous, professional manner. Instead he was condescending and misogynistic. I did agree to have the most urgent problem fixed by them to get the ac running again, because it's still hot outside, but feel that they overcharged us, especially when my husband later did some price checking online. I have the feeling that had my husband been home during the repair, they would have charged us less. I will never use this company again. read more

This company will take a condenser motor that you can purchase anywhere from 90.00 to 150,00. tack it you the price and call it his flat rate. he charge me 686.00 to replace a 150.00 motor. watch of for this guy he will rip you off. I did know the actual cost of the motor till I requested the old part. as I wanted to see what was removed from my AC unit. the Tech brought me the old motor in the new opened box. after the Tech left I decided to research the price. a this definitely made me mad.. My A/C stopped working on July 6th, I called these guys from Ad in phone book. The technician came out and told me unit was frozen and needed freon. He put 6 lbs in the unit and told me it had a leak and probably wouldn't last (this was as I was writing the check for $479!)... The unit stopped working the NEXT DAY. I called them back out. This time a different technician told me I needed new coils and it would be $3300 !! and take several weeks for delivery.... I called another company and a technician came out and said the leak was so bad he could HEAR it and they should not have put freon in...IT"S AGAINST THE LAW! How can ARIZONA REFRIGERATION SVC be an environmentally friendly company when they intentionally and knowingly do something that is wrong? I am requesting my $479 back and have another company putting in a brand new unit today so I don't have to be a victim again.. They should have just been honest up front instead of trying to get more money from me. read more
