Ordered at the kiosk and wanted to try their chicken katsu. The chicken wasn't dry at all, and the rice was perfect. The macaroni salad surprised me because it went really well with the chicken and rice. It was light, savory, and refreshing without taking away from the other sides. Definitely different, but somehow it just made sense with the plate. The corn, though, I probably wouldn't get next time. Honestly, it was a plate full of food! The restaurant had a really nice vibe. It was clean, spacious, and quiet in a peaceful way. The service was easy breezy. Since I ordered at the kiosk, the only interaction I had was when I received my food, but everything was smooth and easy. Next time, I'll probably eat inside because I actually felt calm and relaxed while waiting for my food. Overall, I'd definitely come back to try some of their other dishes. And there's tons of parking, which is always a plus!

A new restaurant called Hula Plate Co, recently opened up in the hotpot place I used to frequent. Once I stepped in, I was transported back to Honolulu, Oahu. Obviously, they were playing soothing Hawaiian tunes and the place was simply decorated in a tasteful Hawaiian theme. They seemed to be busier doing takeout orders. But, you can order via the kiosk and/or cashier. The interior is spacious and doesn't seem crowded. They have one table for 6, but others can probably be moved to form a bigger table. Two separate men and women single-user restrooms. Hawaiian BBQ Short Rib - served with Hawaiian-style Mac salad, corn, steamed rice, & steamed veggies (4/5). Savory, tender short ribs. The mac salad was creamy and peppery. The rice was cooked perfectly. BBQ Chicken Bowl - served with Hawaiian-style Mac salad, corn, and steamed rice (4/5). Salty, tasty, and cooked well. Pineapple Slushy - a sweet treat, kinda reminded me like when your Hawaiian shaved Ice melts and you have that liquidity gold to slurp up. It was super sweet. I'll be back to try some of their other items. Support your local business.

This place recently opened down the street from my house, so I had to give it a try. Overall, I'm glad I did, and I'll definitely be back. The staff was incredibly nice and friendly, and the food was really good. I especially enjoyed the BBQ chicken and the chicken katsu. That said, I do wish the mac salad had been a little better. It was severely lacking in flavor, which was a bummer since that's usually one of my favorite parts about having Hawaiian bbq. Hopefully, it was just an off day since they recently opened. Either way, I'll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

I really like the relaxing and chill vibe here. There were lots of seating available. The food was great! I didn't expect to like the steamed vegetables and corn with my meal. I didn't think it would go well with Hawaiian food. I got more than enough rice and Mac salad was totally more than a scoop! The chicken was tender and juicy. The person working up from was so nice and welcoming. This was a good place to go to for lunch!

Happy to see another option for local Hawaiian BBQ! Upon entering the decor is plantation style siding. Clean and bright, staff is friendly and attentive. We sampled the BBQ chicken, Katsu, BBQ short ribs and the Spicy Hawaiian wangs. Everything tasted good but the star was the wangs served over the rice with the sauce was very tasty! Plates come with corn n veggies n Mac salad of course. No beer or wine available, soda and Aloha drinks self served. This is a great Hawaiian option for Milpitians, a great addition to the neighborhood! Mahalo !

glad to see a hawaiian place has opened up in the area!! now i don't have to drive 15-20 min for my fix. we placed our orders online before opening and picked it up like 20 min after they opened! unfortunately they haven't added the option to swap the sides online (you get sweet corn, mac salad, pickled cabbage) so not sure if that's something you could do by calling or ordering in person instead. there is also a $1 convenience fee for ordering online! i got the chicken katsu plate and holy moly their portions are huge. i split it into 3 separate meals LOL their sweet corn just tastes like canned corn, but their mac salad was really good and the pickled cabbage was a nice palate cleanser inbetween bites. they gave two big slabs of katsu and two sauces per order. everything hit the spot for me! will be coming back whenever i get the craving again

I really wanted to like this new restaurant because I like Hawaiian food, both in the mainland and in Hawaii. However, the restaurant's ambiance and cleanliness is better than the food itself. My chicken katsu lunch plate was bland and I couldn't finish my food. I won't be back, despite the good service.

We came here awhile ago and the food was amazing. Their customer service was extremely nice as well. The inside was really clean. It was nice to go in be greeted with amazing food and the pineapple slush was awesome. For the hot day we had gone in it was very refreshing. Would highly recommend and plan on going very soon again thank you

Finally, more food options on our side of town! This is a great little mom and pop spot. The food is fresh, flavorful, and definitely worth checking out. We ordered the shoyu chicken and the walnut prawn combo, and both were excellent. It has only been about 10 days since they opened, but I can see this place getting steady business, especially once school is back in session. The interior is brand new, clean, and inviting. The owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Wishing them continued success. We will definitely be back!

New Hawaiian BBQ place that opened 06/18/2026. The store has a lot of seating and an ordering kiosk available. The lady helping was very nice and gave me some pineapple slush while I waited for my to-go order. I got a BBQ Chicken and Short Rib combo as well as a BBQ Chicken and Katsu combo to-go. The portions are good and I liked the contrasting sides of sweet corn and pickled veggies. The mac salad wasn't too rich or tangy like other places. My favorite was the crispy katsu chicken. I'll be back to try more items on the menu!

This place is the real deal. I like the chicken katsu and bbq chicken combo. And I really really like the pickled cabbage, which reminded me of sweet white kimchi. My kids got the pineapple sushie with coconut cream swirled in. So decadent! The loco moco and short ribs were also yummy.

Very generous portion of chicken katsu and food were tasty! I just wish they had sides of meat so I can add other meats to my plate that aren't on the combo menu.

The Portuguese sausage was rubbery and unappetizing. Even the poke salad had a strange tang to it. Final Thoughts: 4.33/5…read more They were our caterer for a work party. This is a food truck and they seem to have everything ready to be served to us. Asian fusion foods are typically my go-to choice and so I was very excited that they were providing us food today. Food: Garlic Fried Chicken Bowl: 4.3/5 The sauce on this is divine with the chicken. It's like an unagi sauce with garlic in it. It has some saltiness, sweetness, and that umami flavor. Garlic taste and scent is present, but not too overpowering, which I really enjoyed. That flavor is great, but some places really overdo it for me. Just a personal preference though. For the chicken itself, it's very tender and juicy on the inside and still has some of that nice crunch on the outside. Perhaps this is because the cut of meat is the chicken thigh. It's not super crispy because I don't believe this is being fried to order for us. Seems to be food held in a warmer until its ordered. Kimchi was the side that they had provided with this dish and I am here for that. Some people aren't the biggest fan of this and I saw that from the looks my coworkers gave it. Personally, very much enjoyed it though. That sourness and spice from the kimchi just balances out this bowl really well. The veggies are nice and crispy. Gives it that freshness. Also, very slight detail and addition, but I always enjoy the sesame seeds and furikake sprinkle as a garnish. There's a nice nuttiness to it that they provide as a simple garnish. Spicy Tuna Poké: 4.0/5 This item was alright. The flavor was also really good, but I did get tired of eating just one type of poke protein. Typically when I go to get poke, it's 2 to 3 scoops of different proteins with various sauces to change up the flavor. I did get tired of this one after a few bites. The flavor of this item was very good though. There's a nice kick from it and the flavor tastes like a mix of kewpie mayo, soy sauce, sriracha, and sugar. Very simple, but you can't go wrong with those flavors. For the side, they added seaweed salad. Again, not your average side dish. Personally, I enjoyed it, but it might not be a common or familiar side dish for other individuals. It has a nice sweetness and nuttiness to it. For texture, there's a nice bite to it, which is ncie since the tuna is very soft and doesn't contribute much to the texture component. Menu: Small Their menu seems quite limited, but again, that is normal for a food truck, I believe. The items they provide do it just fine for me. I appreciate that they also have an option for the vegetarians. The menu we were provided was limited to 4 items, which is fine since the scale of this party wasn't anything too wild and we were able to satisfy everyone with what they provided. --------- Quality: Alright The quality of the food seems OK. It came out within a few minutes for us and I don't think it takes just a few minutes to fry that piece of chicken. I could be wrong though, so no one quote me on that. Just an observation. Not the highest expectations because their limited to the space and area in general. The product they provide is very good though. Overall, for something that has raw seafood in it, it seemed quite fresh and tasty. The items aren't made to order either and it's more assemble and serve to order, but again, they seem to be making it work with the product that they are selling. Price: Estimated Because this was a catering event, I am actually unaware of how much my administrator paid for the food. What I know is that she paid for a certain amount of bowls. From the looks of this item though, I want to estimate the price of each bowl being around $16 to $20 depending on the food item provided. Seems quite average for a bowl of food these days. Service: Quick and fast Because most of the food is already prepared and ready, the interaction with them itself is very limited. They took our order and provided us with the food. Nothing too significant to note and that is to be expected with the food truck. They were very sweet though and explained the menu items to be when I had a question. Ambiance: Simple and cute food truck The design on their food truck is so cute. The riceball is my favorite because it has this very cute face and just looks darling to me. The outside has a simple design with the name and logo on top and then perhaps some of the food items they provide written on the bottom section of the truck. Doesn't seem like anything too fancy, but simplicity is best for me. Location/Parking: Wherever they travel and navigate to Because they're a food truck, they can drive to you, which is really convenient. On Yelp, it states that their located on 36 Commercial Street in downtown, which might be where their truck is serving most of the time. Again, it is a food truck though, so they have the ability to drive to you and travel around to their customers, which is quite convenient is reaching a broader group of people.

For the second plate, we got another Chicken Katsu with the Beef (also an extra $0.50). One thing I really liked is the self-serve sauce station. They have katsu sauce that you can pump into small containers, along with teriyaki sauce and several additional sauce packets, so it's easy to customize your meal. The Chicken Katsu was crispy and tasty, but the Crispy Shrimp only came with three pieces, and the beef was just okay. The portions are also a bit smaller compared to Olioli Hawaiian BBQ, although the prices are noticeably lower. My biggest disappointment was that the plates come with a green salad instead of macaroni salad. For me, macaroni salad is part of what makes a Hawaiian plate feel complete, so I really wish that were included instead. Overall, it's a good value, especially if you have one of their coupons. Who then proceeded to serenade Mom by changing the words to one of the songs he sang! She felt so special! AND finally, as part of their 13th anniversary, Noelani's was giving out coupons to their paying customers for free shave ice from Paradise Shave Ice who put a pop-up outside their restaurant. So yummy! And they were so super nice too - will definitely keep them in mind for any shave ice catering needs! We don't visit this restaurant as we're down in the South Bay, but we definitely plan to visit them more often! Thanks for making my mom's day so wonderful! This was an especially bittersweet birthday, as it was the first one without my dad, but somehow I think he was smiling down at us and blessing us today!
