Everything we are here was 10/10. Very closely comparable to din tai fung. The spicy wontons were so flavorful. The workers were welcoming. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is very spacious.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Price was very reasonable and not too pricey for dimsum in San Jose.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is spacious, open and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We came during the weekend and didn't have to wait for a table. There is a lot of parking in a decent size parking lot. The food is so-so. The Sweet & Sour cucumbers is the best dish. The chew texture in the noodles is ok. The XLB is OK but the meat mixture inside seems dry. The shrimp and zucchini steamed dumplings are disappointing. The shrimps inside is hard and overcooked and the wrapping at the edge is tough and chewy. The beef pancake is good when it's made fresh only (we had bad ones before when it wasn't made fresh and was not served hot). The five-spiced beef shank appetizer is too dry. Overall, we've had better XLB and dumplings elsewhere.

Their Xiao Lung Bao are always the highlight on their menu. Thin dumpling skin, juicy soup filling. It's served nice and hot straight from the steamer to your table. Yummy! Their beef pancakes are great too. Service is good

We arrived at 140pm for a late lunch yesterday and was told to sit anywhere for a party of 2. We sat by the wall and then a staff came to asked for our drink order. Since we haven't had the chance to look at the menu yet I ordered water first as my husband stepped away. There is a QR code at every table for the menu. We ordered the following: 1. Minced chicken noodles w/ pickled green beans on side: noodles were chewey and minced chicken with sauce is flavored well. The pickled string beans is a good pairing to the noodles but a little too salty and dried. The dish is not spicy so I added the chili oil to it, but it wasnt spicy at all. 2. Boiled chicken & veggie wonton in hot & sour sauce: good wonton wrap texture. Texture is nice and chewery but filling lack flavor. Hot & sour sauce not sour nor spicy and seem water down. 3. Pork and crab xiao long bao: Came out steaming hot. Dough a little dry. It's a different flavor having the crab with pork. The flavor is light. I think I prefer the original pork. Maybe simple is better. 4. Pork and shrimp potstickers: Came out fried on one side giving it a nice first bite crunch. Chewey dough texture and flavorful filling. I think I like this dish best. The food came out within food timing, however, the fried dumplings took the longest. We were more than half way through our 3 dishes before it finally came. The portions were small, more like tapa style to share then eat on own. However, for 2 people it was just right. Service is average as we were not checked on, however, it was easy to get attention of the staff to refill our water. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is big and clean with only 2 staff working the front.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A few tables were occupied when we came in and I noticed people to come and go as we ate. We may consider coming back in future to try other dishes on menu is in the area.

I thoroughly enjoyed this place. The food was delicious although the noodles were a bit salty. We ordered a lot more than what I was able to take a picture of because we were starving and some of the food came later. :-) Service was good. Staff are attentive and helpful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Casual place, fast service, clean & bright dining area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Lots of parking available.

Seeing my pals coming here almost weekly but never having the opportunity... (I didn't realize it was across from Gen, HeyTea, 99 Ranch, etc *idiot face*) until now! OVERALL: Omg the carbs were chewy and delicious but sooooo salty. According to the server who tasted one of our dishes in front of our faces, yes flavor profile is totally on an individual basis. She stated all canto folks complained their dishes are salty (we didn't see a single canto and hear they barely come here). Price is awesome but portions are small. PORK XLB: Must order! Most reasonable price I've yet to come across. The filling may be less than many have seen (making it much more skin space) but I feel the proportion was good. PORK AND SHRIMP POTSTICKERS: Skin and filling were not comparable to the XLB. The shrimp tasted as if they use dried medium shrimp and not fresh shrimp. Skin was tough. Filling was slightly dry. Yes filling was mildly more flavorful than the XLB filling. DAN DAN NOODLES: Super salty. More salty than spicy. Server was nice enough to give us extra noodles due to stating it's too salty, telling us the cook may have been too heavy handy on the sauce. KALE WITH SESAME DRESSING: Omg I think they more than drenched the water in salt. Kale is likely boiled. Served cold. I don't recommend. Sesame dressing gave it a sweet undertone but still so salty; I can't imagine what the garlic sauce option would be like. ONION PANCAKE: A super reasonable price as well. It's oily and there's a bitter after taste (likely due to reusing oil) but the crispiness and chewiness in the middle can't be explained! I recommend. SERVICE: The whole establishment was ran by one waitress (crazy!). She was also doing the takeouts, pickups, etc., cleaning up tables, and putting everything away. Super friendly and attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]VIBE: Lots of young mainly non Asian folks dining in. Casual. Great for groups (though not large portions). Modern decor. Clean, chill and relaxing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Located in the plaza with other eateries. Private parking lot. Would I come back? Yes!

Seated promptly. You order via a QR code (and pay via a link via text.) Everything here is outstanding! It's really about what you're in the mood for. The variety of soup dumplings are served hot and full of flavor. Our favorite dishes here are: Sweet & Sour Cucumber; Kale Salad with Sweet & Spicy Garlic Dressing; Pork & Crab Meat Xiao Long Bao; Shrimp & Zucchini Steamed Dumplings; High Tail Shrimp & Pork Steamed Dumplings, and Beef Pancake Roll. That's right, we have so many favorites, we don't have room to try new dishes! A large parking lot is shared with several other restaurants and small businesses.

We were craving some Chinese food and decided to come to Dough Zone since it was nearby. There was no wait and we were seated right away. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was very spacious and we are able to order using a QR code.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food came out pretty quick. The XLB was soupy and were cooked perfectly. I really liked crispy crust on the chicken dumpling. Though the chicken dumplings itself weren't anything special. The dan dan noodles were good; however it was as spicy as I wanted. After adding chilli oil, it tasted much better. Although the food was good, I definitely preferred Din Tai Fung over this. However if you'd like to avoid a wait, definitely check this place out!

Haven't ever tried dumplings this year.

I drive past this place almost every weekend when I head over to HMart or Costco. I've always had this place added to my bucket to try on Yelp and after 5 years of being that guy who hasn't tried it after adding it on Yelp, I started craving dumplings and pulled up this spot. My wife and I still wanted something with soup so she went for the beef noodle stew soup, I had something similar but not as much soup. We also ordered two dumplings, chicken and beef steam boiled, also added the pork dumpling with chili sauce. All we can think about was dumplings that we forgot about our greens, had to add broccoli with seafood sauce, it looked pricey for $7.65 for broccoli that kinda looked like it was bought from a grocery store and then microwaved (I kid) I still ate it all. The waiter was very patient with us, I said it was our first time visiting the place to try to he gave us more time to think about what we were choosing. I should've asked for his opinion on what's the newcomers favorite or must tries, oh well, missed opportunity. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place looks trendy and casual, I like the slat wood on the ceiling as well as the dumpling basket covers on the walls.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat near the windows that faced the main road (Hostetter) because we wanted lots of lighting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] One of the servers offered to bring us a small bowl to share my wife's big bowl of beef stew and we said yes but I think he forgot after he served my beef bowl which looked like the size of a small bowl, I used that instead so no worries on that. When we walked out, we took an Ube milk tea out without toppings or pearls, it's a nice dessert to have for a drive home after that amazing meal. Definitely will try the other dumplings next time around since I'm fairly close by.

I tried the chicken XLB (4/5) and it was as good as the pork. Main reason for the 3 stars is the service. The first time I went here the service was slow but I figured it could be an off night. Now I'm back for the second time and the service was the same way. You can order through a QR code which is great but you can't pay on the phone or even ask for water/boxes online. The servers don't check on you and they're so busy it's a fight to get their attention. You would wait an extra 20 minutes just to pay. The XLB was good but the service makes this place not worth it. Let us request for water on the phone and more importantly let us pay online! Also hire more people! The servers clearly need more help.

This place is waaaaaay better than DTF for half the price! We ordered 5 dishes and it was less than $37 and we were so full after. The cucumber dish was so refreshing and the portion size was huge! We had great service and was seated immediately. It was pretty empty at 6pm on a Sunday and quiet was it was an enjoyable meal. Definitely coming back!

With so much good food in this area, this spot hits different. The place is a XLB dim sum style spot with a similar menu of other places but half the price. They have a good size menu and seemed busy everytime I'm there with take out and dine in. You order off a QR and the server brings the food out so it's very casual. It's a ok space but depending on time it can get busy. If you come with a big group it could be tough. I usually like to try everything so we ordered alot of plates and it was still affordable. The food is comparable to any other XLB restaurant as the items were flavorful and well made. The spicy wontons and cucumber salad were crave worthy. The noodle dishes are all solid and the XLB was tasty. If you dont want all the hustle and bustle for your XLB and wontons, this spot is a great option.

This was my first time trying Dough Zone and I was really excited since I heard it's similar to Din Tai Fung. I went on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty empty. The service was super quick. Everything came out fast after we ordered (which was a good but bad thing?). The food was disappointing. We ordered the cucumber and it was nice and refreshing but lacking in the sauce/flavor. I had to mainly use my own side sauce. The pan fried pork buns are supposed to be crispy on the bottom and juicy from the soup. It seemed like it was out for a while or not fresh because the soup turned into this "foam" and it was not appetizing. The beef pancake was decent but the meat was a bit tough and chewy. The only thing that was good was the dan dan noodles. The spicy chilly wontons were also decent but nothing amazing. The friend I came with said they were much better before but it seems like the quality has gone down. She also said the Oakridge location was much better. Overall, despite the great service, I don't think I'll be back to this location. The price is very affordable but the portions are super small. It may be good if you're looking for a quick bite.

We arrived around 12:30pm, and were seated immediately at the corner of the communal table. Service was bare minimal but efficient. We ordered via a QR code, and helped ourselves to the water already at the table. There's a self-serve sauce bar near the entrance as well. The restaurant wasn't too big inside and there was a short line outside while we're there. The line went away pretty quickly, though. Food came out within 10 minutes after placing our order. I had their Signature Free Range Chicken Big-bus Miishien Soup for the "crossing the bridge noodles" experience. The broth was piping hot and very flavorful. I put all the fixings and noodles into the broth except the cashew nuts and the chicken, which I put in right before I was about to eat them. The chicken was very lean and tender. I even ate the skin as there's no fat attached to it. I also loved the texture of the noodles. The mushroom was great, just too little of it. I wish they had used corn ribs or another vegetable as the corn kernels were very hard to fish from the broth. While it was a delicious and satisfying bowl of noodles, the "Big-bus" version was a bit overpriced. Our daughter liked her Small Pot Spicy Ground Pork Miishien Soup (Less Spicy), especially how the mini Chinese donuts soaked up the broth. I had a bit of her broth and ground pork, and it was yummy with just a bit of numbing spininess. We both liked their pickles from the sauce bar and at the table. My husband enjoyed his Small Pot Spicy Ground Pork Miishien Soup with free extra miishien as well. After selecting Checkout on Chowbus, payment was done via a staff who came by. I signed up for their rewards program when I ordered, and got 10% off. I would love to come back and try their spicy beef noodles. I noticed a promo sign outside the restaurant for some of their noodle dishes (@$12.99) from Monday to Thursday, during specific hours.

The egg, though, was hard boiled and didn't have a soft center, which I like. That seemed like a bit of a shortcut to be honest. My wife ordered a sizzling dish and liked it - perhaps that's their speciality. Service was good, the inside was pretty typical - nothing fancy, but nothing missing either. Good overall, would come here again for convenience and because the food is solid.

This restaurant is a stand-alone building with its own parking lot which has ample parking spaces. Double wooden doors give a Japan vibe and so do the interior decorations. We came on a Saturday at noon. The restaurant was crowded but we were quickly greeted and seated right away. Water was served and orders were taken quickly. Our food came out super fast! And we gobbled on it in no time. The udon was freshly made and has a nice texture, not too chewy but not too soft. Just fresh and perfect! Even after being immersed in the soup for a long time, the udon noodles still maintained their flavor, shape and texture. We ordered the Tonkatsu Udon Deluxe and the Katsu Curry Udon. The soups were perfectly made! Light, full of flavors and not salty at all. Really authentic, in my opinion. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and we will definitely come back to try other dishes .

Good portion! Spicy garlic edamame was a great appetizer! We also got the hot sake & Sapporo (so refreshing)! Good service with friendly & attentive workers. I was surprised to see how big the space was! It's dimmed inside but still good enough light. No issue with parking - plenty spots available around the restaurant.
