I like that they cut the meat in small bite size cubes. The broth was very bland therefore I was completely dissatisfied. The shrimp and zucchini steamed dumplings are disappointing. The shrimps inside is hard and overcooked and the wrapping at the edge is tough and chewy. We arrived at 140pm for a late lunch yesterday and was told to sit anywhere for a party of 2. We sat by the wall and then a staff came to asked for our drink order. Since we haven't had the chance to look at the menu yet I ordered water first as my husband stepped away. There is a QR code at every table for the menu. We ordered the following: 1. Minced chicken noodles w/ pickled green beans on side: noodles were chewey and minced chicken with sauce is flavored well. The pickled string beans is a good pairing to the noodles but a little too salty and dried. The dish is not spicy so I added the chili oil to it, but it wasnt spicy at all. 2. Boiled chicken & veggie wonton in hot & sour sauce: good wonton wrap texture. Texture is nice and chewery but filling lack flavor. Hot & sour sauce not sour nor spicy and seem water down. 3. Pork and crab xiao long bao: Came out steaming hot. Dough a little dry. It's a different flavor having the crab with pork. The flavor is light. I think I prefer the original pork. Maybe simple is better. 4. Pork and shrimp potstickers: Came out fried on one side giving it a nice first bite crunch. Chewey dough texture and flavorful filling. I think I like this dish best. The food came out within food timing, however, the fried dumplings took the longest. We were more than half way through our 3 dishes before it finally came. The portions were small, more like tapa style to share then eat on own. However, for 2 people it was just right. Service is average as we were not checked on, however, it was easy to get attention of the staff to refill our water. I drive past this place almost every weekend when I head over to HMart or Costco. I've always had this place added to my bucket to try on Yelp and after 5 years of being that guy who hasn't tried it after adding it on Yelp, I started craving dumplings and pulled up this spot. I tried the chicken XLB (4/5) and it was as good as the pork. Main reason for the 3 stars is the service. The first time I went here the service was slow but I figured it could be an off night. Now I'm back for the second time and the service was the same way. You can order through a QR code which is great but you can't pay on the phone or even ask for water/boxes online. The servers don't check on you and they're so busy it's a fight to get their attention. You would wait an extra 20 minutes just to pay. The XLB was good but the service makes this place not worth it. With so much good food in this area, this spot hits different. The place is a XLB dim sum style spot with a similar menu of other places but half the price. They have a good size menu and seemed busy everytime I'm there with take out and dine in. You order off a QR and the server brings the food out so it's very casual. It's a ok space but depending on time it can get busy. If you come with a big group it could be tough. I usually like to try everything so we ordered alot of plates and it was still affordable. The food is comparable to any other XLB restaurant as the items were flavorful and well made. The spicy wontons and cucumber salad were crave worthy. I had to mainly use my own side sauce. The pan fried pork buns are supposed to be crispy on the bottom and juicy from the soup. It seemed like it was out for a while or not fresh because the soup turned into this "foam" and it was not appetizing. The beef pancake was decent but the meat was a bit tough and chewy. The only thing that was good was the dan dan noodles. The spicy chilly wontons were also decent but nothing amazing. The friend I came with said they were much better before but it seems like the quality has gone down. She also said the Oakridge location was much better. Overall, despite the great service, I don't think I'll be back to this location. The price is very affordable but the portions are super small. I love doughzone I order takeout from here all the time! I like how each dish is small enough for you to try a bunch of different dishes. All the wontons, dumplings, XLB, noodles, etc are all very flavorful, and the green onion pancake is also light and crispy, not overly oily, and overall tastes great. Biting in the bao, you can smell how fresh the dough is. Warning: Be careful biting into the bun/bao. You can get burned. The meat completely filled the bun, and the hot soup comes out as you bite into the bun. The potstickers also had a uniform and neatly clean folds. Meat also filled the wrapper and was very hot to eat. The green onion pancakes were nice and crispy on the outside, fried to a golden brown. It is also on the small side. We ordered the cold sweet & sour cucumber. Very refreshing and not the typical black vinegar & garlic smashed cucumber that most places serve beef noodle soup & dumplings. Lastly, the banana crepes were surprisingly good. It was crispy and pan fried with banana slices. It was served with whipping cream. Luckily they still 1 out of the 3 types of soup dumplings still in stock. My top favs were the Dan Dan noodles, Xiao Long Bao pork soup dumplings, then 5 spice beef shank. The first bites of the kale salad I enjoyed but after a couple of bites the peanut sauce was overwhelming. Im not a big fan of savory dishes with peanut. In a plaza on a hidden corner. All the food was pretty good. Service is okay, pretty neutral. Inside was fairly clean. We ordered the Green onion pancake, Pork dumplings, Sweet and sour cucumbers, Shrimp and Pork potstickers and Five spice beef. Prices were decent. I chose this restaurant to eat because I wanted to try dumplings and noodles. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Walking into the restaurant the vibes were good.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were immediately greeted, the person was very nice. I sat down with my husband and we started looking at the menu. We got the dumplings, drink, and noodles for $20, it was a lunch combo. The pork dumplings were very good, I really enjoyed it. I also loved the presentation very nice. I enjoyed the drink it reminded me of something I've had but I can't wrap my head around it. The noodles were 6/10 it had a weird after taste. The pork dumplings were a 10/10 I loved the soup. The pan fried dumplings were a 6/10. It wasn't as flavorful as I would like. Overall the experience was awesome and I would come again. read more
