Food was amazingly good! There was a lot of meat, however, many other Hawaiian spots often give me two scoops of rice. I only got one here. Staff was super busy but was very helpful in getting my orders in. They worked diligently to ensure I would get my food on time and be able to eat inside before they closed. Thank you!!!

Came in for lunch on a Sunday and it was worth all the hype from the reviews! It's in a plaza so plenty of parking and they also have a small dining room (counter service though). Love that you can really mix and match anything with their combo options, which a lot of hawaiian places usually restrict you on. I got the garlic shrimp combo with loco moco - the gravy was a little bland but the patty itself was super flavorful and not dry at all. They're pretty generous with the garlic and shrimp even in a combo too. Will definitely be back to try more!

So good but sketchy neighborhood. The people who come in and out of the plaza harass the workers often and it's really unfortunate. I love the food though, my sister enjoys it too. It uses extremely clean oil and it is yummy! This time I got the garlic shrimp plate which is a staple. The mac and cheese is delicious and the rice and cabbage are fantastic as well. So lucky to have such a great spot. Be sure to get your stamp cards!

Worth it for the Monday special. Lots of seating and lots of parking. Staffs were attentive and they had a whole crew in line working non stop. The macaroni salad was great! Not too much flavor but it definitely is a filler. The chicken katsu was perfectly fried where it was not dry at all.

We were craving Hawaiian food since we were supposed to be in Hawaii for spring break, but our trip didn't happen. I found this place and we had to give it a try. The spot is small with just a few tables, and the ordering counter is right when you walk in. They have photos of some menu items, which makes it much easier to decide what to get. I ordered the garlic shrimp combo with chicken katsu. The shrimp reminded me of the garlic shrimp we usually get in Hawaii, garlicky flavorful and satisfying. They give you a generous portion of chicken katsu (super tender) over two scoops of rice with mac salad on the side. The mac salad was good, and it came with sauce for the chicken katsu. I personally found the sauce a bit too sweet for my taste, but everything else was great. It was so much food that I ended up getting two additional meals out of it! My only wish is that they included a few more shrimp, it came with about 5-6 pieces. My husband ordered the loco moco. He liked it, although I think he would have liked his original order even more if he hadn't changed it last minute. The staff was very accommodating and let him switch, and for the price difference the host just told him to grab a soda, which was really nice. Next time we'll try the original order (half BBQ chicken and half BBQ beef). Definitely will be back!

Wow wow wow. I am not sure why there are at least 6 L&L locations in the South Bay when Olioli is dishing up the best Hawaiian plates I've had in the Bay Area. The plates are huge and generous (two rice scoops, one mac salad, and choice of proteins), they ended up being two meals each. The standout dish was the crispy garlic shrimp - it was heavy on the fresh garlic and I loved the texture contrast between crispy shrimp and soft mac salad. The garlic sauce was so good that we ended up eating all the cabbage too because it was coated in garlic oil. The galbi was tender and two pieces came on the half plate. The other half must have been at least 3 whole chicken thighs made into a katsu. Each piece was well seasoned and stayed crunchy for hours thanks to the panko breading. A sneaker hit was the fried fish - I order a single piece on the side to try and it was amazing. The lemon brought out all the seasonings, but the fish itself was very fresh. Next time, I will have to come back to try the garlic fish (I'm drooling just thinking about it!) The spam musubi was a miss though, the seaweed tasted old and it was just generally underwhelming next to the plates. If you want Hawaiian food in SJ, this would 100% be my first stop.

Yeah there's a reason why olioli is critically acclaimed on Yelp. Overall, I think olioli has the best taste and quality across the board among local Hawaiian bbq spots. You can just taste the difference. Their bbq chicken, katsu, and loco moco are all fantastic. Ironically, I think their famous garlic shrimp is a little bit overrated and grossly overpriced. Speaking of price, that's the one downside of this spot is that everything is more expensive on average than other Hawaiian spots. The one exception is the Monday katsu special, which is a steal in this economy. You get 4 sheets of katsu which you can easily portion into 2 meals. Service is slow most of the times because they're too busy. But I can't really ding them too much for that because they're mom and pop. Ambiance is amazing, it's the most Hawaiian feeling of all the Hawaiian bbq spots in the area. I love the pink chairs. Looking back, I'd highly recommend olioli to anyone looking for Hawaiian bbq. I've shown many friends this spot, and interestingly enough, my boy Newo liked it so much he's going to show it to his friend who's visiting from Florida.

This might be the most food I've ever gotten for $17 (+tax is $20). Absolutely packed with meat to the and although there's a lot, the quality certainly is not bad. I also typically do not like macaroni salad but here it's pretty good. Great place if you need something filling for an affordable price as this might last the whole day.

My son wanted to try this place. We can smell the katsu chicken outside and it smelled so good! We followed where the smell was and it did not disappoint. He got the combo dish, half chicken teriyaki and half katsu. It came with rice and macaroni salad. The portion was great. $17.99 plus tax and tip. Few tables inside. The chicken was juicy and enough flavor. The katsu was crunchy too. Overall, both my son and I enjoyed the dish to go. Reasonable price.

Olioli might be my fav spot for Hawaiian BBQ! I love their garlic shrimp and their macaroni salad. If you want to avoid the convenience fee, call in instead of ordering through their platform. Parking is usually plentiful and we've only done to-go orders. Highly recommend if you're craving Hawaiian BBQ!

The service here is really good and the staff is friendly. There is plenty of parking in the plaza and it can get busy. The interior is small but there's some seating inside for eating and waiting. The serving size is pretty big and they definitely load it up. The quality is pretty good too. They have sauces as well inside. The garlic shrimp was decent and the short rib was enjoyable. Definitely would come here again.

This might not be the nicest looking restaurant or the absolute highest quality hawaiian food, but the portions here are MASSIVE. I got the half&half plate of bbq chicken / chicken katsu and it's definitely worth the price point. I'm a pretty big eater and I couldn't finish it in one sitting by myself if I tried. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to get a huge plate of solid hawaiian food.

This is my second time here after a year and this place has not changed, for the better! Plates are consistently filled, for a great price, and of course tastes amazing~ It may look unassuming from the outside since it's tucked in the corner but definitely my go to spot for Hawaiian food! Parking is easy and they bring out the food quickly There is 3-4 tables for dine in but it seems they get a lot of to go orders. My bf and I always get the plate and choose our sides with it. I always have left overs for the next day too. My personal favorite is the BBQ Beef and the Cutlet! Paired with the mac salad and rice on the side makes for the perfect combination. You won't regret coming here ~

Given the short…read moretimeframe and large order size, they delivered everything quickly while serving great quality food. The service was fast, organized and the food was consistently great. If you're looking for a catering food truck for a small lunch window that delivers high quality and very quick service, I HIGHLY recommend Fire and Rice. Their Hawaiian Asian fusion menu is unique and stands out compared to other Asian or poke trucks I've tried. The garlic shoyu chicken and tuna poke were my personal favorites. I tried some of my coworkers garlic shrimp & Miso tofu too...surprisingly pretty GOOD! With inflation being what it is, their food is absolutely worth the price, and they were also flexible and willing to work within our reasonable budget. I can't recommend them enough. For catering inquiries, It was a little difficult getting them on the phone so we played phone tag a lot. I suggest texting or emailing Micah or Jessica for the quickest response, as they're often busy on the truck or during service.

Final Thoughts: 4.33/5…read more They were our caterer for a work party. This is a food truck and they seem to have everything ready to be served to us. Asian fusion foods are typically my go-to choice and so I was very excited that they were providing us food today. Food: Garlic Fried Chicken Bowl: 4.3/5 The sauce on this is divine with the chicken. It's like an unagi sauce with garlic in it. It has some saltiness, sweetness, and that umami flavor. Garlic taste and scent is present, but not too overpowering, which I really enjoyed. That flavor is great, but some places really overdo it for me. Just a personal preference though. For the chicken itself, it's very tender and juicy on the inside and still has some of that nice crunch on the outside. Perhaps this is because the cut of meat is the chicken thigh. It's not super crispy because I don't believe this is being fried to order for us. Seems to be food held in a warmer until its ordered. Kimchi was the side that they had provided with this dish and I am here for that. Some people aren't the biggest fan of this and I saw that from the looks my coworkers gave it. Personally, very much enjoyed it though. That sourness and spice from the kimchi just balances out this bowl really well. The veggies are nice and crispy. Gives it that freshness. Also, very slight detail and addition, but I always enjoy the sesame seeds and furikake sprinkle as a garnish. There's a nice nuttiness to it that they provide as a simple garnish. Spicy Tuna Poké: 4.0/5 This item was alright. The flavor was also really good, but I did get tired of eating just one type of poke protein. Typically when I go to get poke, it's 2 to 3 scoops of different proteins with various sauces to change up the flavor. I did get tired of this one after a few bites. The flavor of this item was very good though. There's a nice kick from it and the flavor tastes like a mix of kewpie mayo, soy sauce, sriracha, and sugar. Very simple, but you can't go wrong with those flavors. For the side, they added seaweed salad. Again, not your average side dish. Personally, I enjoyed it, but it might not be a common or familiar side dish for other individuals. It has a nice sweetness and nuttiness to it. For texture, there's a nice bite to it, which is ncie since the tuna is very soft and doesn't contribute much to the texture component. Menu: Small Their menu seems quite limited, but again, that is normal for a food truck, I believe. The items they provide do it just fine for me. I appreciate that they also have an option for the vegetarians. The menu we were provided was limited to 4 items, which is fine since the scale of this party wasn't anything too wild and we were able to satisfy everyone with what they provided. --------- Quality: Alright The quality of the food seems OK. It came out within a few minutes for us and I don't think it takes just a few minutes to fry that piece of chicken. I could be wrong though, so no one quote me on that. Just an observation. Not the highest expectations because their limited to the space and area in general. The product they provide is very good though. Overall, for something that has raw seafood in it, it seemed quite fresh and tasty. The items aren't made to order either and it's more assemble and serve to order, but again, they seem to be making it work with the product that they are selling. Price: Estimated Because this was a catering event, I am actually unaware of how much my administrator paid for the food. What I know is that she paid for a certain amount of bowls. From the looks of this item though, I want to estimate the price of each bowl being around $16 to $20 depending on the food item provided. Seems quite average for a bowl of food these days. Service: Quick and fast Because most of the food is already prepared and ready, the interaction with them itself is very limited. They took our order and provided us with the food. Nothing too significant to note and that is to be expected with the food truck. They were very sweet though and explained the menu items to be when I had a question. Ambiance: Simple and cute food truck The design on their food truck is so cute. The riceball is my favorite because it has this very cute face and just looks darling to me. The outside has a simple design with the name and logo on top and then perhaps some of the food items they provide written on the bottom section of the truck. Doesn't seem like anything too fancy, but simplicity is best for me. Location/Parking: Wherever they travel and navigate to Because they're a food truck, they can drive to you, which is really convenient. On Yelp, it states that their located on 36 Commercial Street in downtown, which might be where their truck is serving most of the time. Again, it is a food truck though, so they have the ability to drive to you and travel around to their customers, which is quite convenient is reaching a broader group of people.

Interestingly enough the beef was the kind of beef in beef and broccoli, marinated and tenderized with corn starch, instead of the typical Hawaiian bbq beef slices. There was a deceptive amount of meat in this, it's definitely a solid portion. I almost wish there were more potatoes lol. The curry itself was just ok.
