We stopped into Humble Pie for a quick bite before our flight -- and there was nothing humble about the experience. We waited at the host stand as instructed, but our server, Samantha D, shouted "Hi friend! Table or bar?" from across the restaurant. When we chose a table and sat down, she accused us of switching tables, which was confusing and embarrassing since we had no idea where we were supposed to sit. It drew unwanted attention from every other diner in the room. I genuinely wish Yelp allowed negative stars because this place earned less than zero. From the second we walked in, the experience was hostile and uncomfortable. Our server, Samantha D., vaguely told us to "sit at this table" with absolutely no direction or professionalism. We sat at a nearby table that seemed more accommodating, and instead of handling it politely, she immediately became rude, loud, and dismissive. There is absolutely no excuse for serving food on dirty dishes. I've been using "traveling" as an excuse to eat garbage, so I decided to reel it in a bit and look for something healthy. Scanned the menu saw lots of temptation, not much in the "virtue" department until I noticed the chicken wings came with carrots and celery. So I asked for just a side of carrots. Simple, right? But they were actually good. Fresh, crisp, and DELICIOUS. I ended up eating plates of them like it was a personal challenge. Then, because moderation deserves a reward, I ordered a skinny margarita. It hit the spot, light, tart, and knocked the edge off for my next flight. All in all, Humble Pie was a solid layover win. Worst experience ever. There was one waiter just yelling across the restaurant. You had to order through a QR code. We never got asked if we needed a refill on drinks, not even once. It took 50 minutes to get a salad and bowl of fries. The excuse was the lettuce was being prepped and then the knife had to be cleaned. Terrible terrible service and experience. Short with multiple patrons and clearly showed some biases. I was parked at the bar for a couple of hours and it was going well until it wasn't. Had an early flight out of Phoenix and my husband wanted to get breakfast before our long flight. Humble Pie was one of the few places open in our terminal, so it was pretty packed. James the bartender is fast- but you can tell he's done it forever and he's over it. I said hi first. He didn't bring me a water until the second time I asked. Headed out for some business meetings and decided to grab a bite to eat for breakfast. I ordered their pork carnitas & eggs, that is served on top of home fries with various potatoes. The waitress to served me was very friendly, quick and professional. Everything was prepared/served quickly and tasted good. If you are lucky enough to have your departing gate in this area and you are hungry, check them out. The do offer their pizzas for breakfast too. This place is a little hidden gem. Prices are normal for an airport restaurant and the food portions match that as well. However the food is delicious and well done. The two of us ordered: -chopped salad $14.79 -cheese burger $17.29 -fries surcharge $2.75 It seemed like our burger was forgotten, since we were waiting extra long, and even our server was wondering where it was, so he had to check, then after some more time, the food came out. We chose Humble Pie as it's near our gate for breakfast after walking away from another establishment whose prices were outrageous for mediocrity. We wanted a lite snack and had the Forno Bread for $10 and it didn't disappoint, what made it great was Daniel gave us their Homemade Ranch which was a great mix with the marinara sauce. I grabbed lunch here on Friday prior to a flight out at Sky Harbor. They were really busy which is usually a good sign for an eatery. There were seats available near the windows and my waiter was awesome. I ordered a Pineapple Mint mimosa and the BLT with Fries. The food was ready very quickly for how busy they were. The mimosa was fantastic and the BLT was perfect. The slices of bacon were nice and thick, the tomato was just right and the lettuce was crisp. I enjoyed every bite! Not being in a hurry I was able to people watch for a bit and didn't feel rushed to leave. The atmosphere is great for the travelor, there is a bar right up front where patrons can sit and drink their meal if they would like! lol I enjoyed my visit here and would highly recomend checking them out!
