Okay, I wanted to give this place another chance after my last bad review, but nothing has changed. Every time I go there, they are out of something at the lunch hour. Today, it was chicken and pork loin. I found out they only have white meat for the chicken when they DO have it (what kind of BBQ place doesn't serve dark meat chicken?) I ordered the burnt ends and the brisquet. Burnt ends were burnt for sure, but mostly just strings of meat. I would really encourage these guys to watch "Food Paradise" with a BBQ edition to see how brisquet is supposed to be cooked! Yes, there was a smoke ring on the outside, but it's supposed to be moist and juicy on the inside. Not here. Dry and bland. Nobody in this area can do brisquet correctly. I left and came home to make a sandwich! I won't be back. read more

Eaten here twice; both times were great. Had the Kansas City beef sandwich and the pulled pork sandwich and both were excellent. My lunch date ordered every side they had and raved about all of them. Give this place a shot; you won't regret it. read more

It is sad to say but I would not order here again. The burnt ends had no flavor no smoke taste no nothing. It just sucked the moisture right out of my mouth even with bbq sauce all over it. For the price I paid I'd expect something that would at least me good. I had better bbq from a guy that was set up next to an off ramp on the 101. read more

The food is delicious. I had a pulled pork "big poppa". Friendly staff (but just about everyone in this city is), clean restaurant, relaxing fall colors on the walls and a good looking tile floor, offset with a faded blue (the color faded blue, looks freshly painted) ceiling, it has a "crisp" feeling to it. When you walk in you can smell the smoked meats and it is wonderful. My only complaint is that my sandwich was assembled with the smoked cream cheese only in the part of the bun that folds, and the bacon was only on the outer edge, so there was no way to get a mouth full of all the flavors unless I stuffed the whole width of the bun into my mouth to take a bite. But that's a minor complaint, since it's easy to change by opening the bun. Reasonably priced, good place. read more

I have ordered from this Restaurant many times using DoorDash, but my last order had An item missing which was not a big deal as they were willing to replace the item. The problem was the ribs tasted like they were from a couple days back, and the pulled pork was the same. The side dish was all dried out too. It was horrible. Not what I have eaten before. Can you say yum? I visited this restaurant yesterday for the first time. Who would've thought that delicious barbecue exist in this city? I ordered the big poppa with the pork belly as my meat and a side of beans. I loved how tender and flavorful the meat was. The beans also had a nice flavor with some sweetness. Burnt ends sub-par and more similar to chopped brisket than actual burnt ends (chewy too). Pulled pork had good pork flavor, bark, and was tender. Vinegar slaw was rubbery and didn't have much acid, BBQ beans tasted good, but undercooked. read more

Delicious. We stopped here on our way up the coast. It was so good we made sure to hit this at meal time on our way back down. Both times I had the trio of tacos with burnt tips for the meat. They come with spicy coleslaw and a little bit of bacon sprinkled on top. The baked beans are also delicious. My husband had a burrito and the next time a sandwich- he loved both. Beside the awesome BBQ, the very juicy and soft pork belly, and flavorful ribs, one thing that made this place special is that the workers here were so nice. We were not aware about the changed menu so we ordered an item on the older menu. The lady who took our order tried her best to accommodate us and our request. While waiting in the store, we were looking at some flyers for places around the area. She noticed form behind the counter and brought us a map including cool destinations around there. The chicken was seasoned oddly for smoked chicken , and so so dry but no char? Meaning old re fired? The pork was ok bcuz I added sauce and wrapped it in a pita . The brisket was so dry my dog choked on it . For $23.00 at PORTERSTREET I could have gotten a whole chicken, 4 beef ribs and 2 bowls of macaroni salad . Due to the Covid situation we started supporting our local businesses more. Being honest, we had never eating there before and have say this was a big mistake! We now make it one of our most go to order out places. With a great menu it's hard to decide what to get but have to say its all great & large portions. This is one of those BBQ joints where you place your order at the counter and then sit down at a table and wait for them to bring your food. Although I've never had a BBQ burrito, it was very good (and LARGE). Prices are a tad high, but compared to other California restaurants not so bad. First time here today. I had two tacos with chicken. There is an option to have 3 plus 2 sides but I didn't want to overdo it. The tacos are the mini style but they were delicious. They had slaw, bacon pieces and I added the Spicy vinegar as suggested by one of the servers. If you are really hungry you would want more than 2. My lunch partner ordered one of the poppers to try and shared with me. I think it's overpriced really but it was good and actually almost exactly how I make them. He had a Kansas City which is basically a pulled pork sandwich. It also had the bits of bacon on it that kind of affects the overall texture but he enjoyed his meal. He added all 3 sauces at the table. The portions are small although his sandwich was decent sized. We sat outside in the back and in the sun, which was nice. Tonight was my second time having Humboldt Smokehouse and both times have been underwhelming. Their menu is very tempting, but the reality not so much. The portions, while fair for the price, are not served equal to what is shown on the website or actually in the menu description. Sandwiches are not served on long rolls, but rather on smaller hamburger buns. The first time I ate out on their back patio and they seemed to be out of sauce even though it was in the middle of lunch hour. How is a BBQ joint out of sauce? This time I ordered via Uber Eats and was underwhelmed again. I ordered a box with brisket and pulled pork. The brisket had no flavor and was somewhat dry, the pulled pork was kind of mushy. The mac n cheese side was cold and clumped like it had been made hours ago. The potato salad was ok in taste but seemed to have been made from canned pre-diced potatoes based on the odd consistency and extreme uniform size of the potatoes. Oh and they gave me a fork and spoon rather than a knife so I had to eat the strips of brisket like chicken fingers. read more
