My friends and I were looking for some healthy food options and after a quick Yelp search, we stumbled upon this restaurant. We got the thai curry bowl with tofu protein. They had plenty of interesting options to choose from but we were craving for thai curry so went with that. The ambiance was welcoming. The food came out pretty quickly too. First off, the portion size was good for two people. The quantity was good. The thai curry itself was a bit too watery for my liking. However, the quinoa, rice, veggies and tofu were cooked to perfection! I liked the basil addition, it definitely elevated the flavor overall! I wished it came with some hot sauce. I only realized later that they have in house specially prepared hot sauce after my meal was complete. If you are on the lookout for something tasty and healthy, head this way!

I'm always happy every time I have Humbowl! It's lovely to find a restaurant where vegetarian and vegan meals take center stage and aren't afterthoughts. The breakfast hash is my favorite, the veggies are cooked well and seasoned nicely, and the cilantro ginger sauce takes everything to another level. Their Thai curry is also delicious, perfect balance of ingredients i.e. generous portions of protein and veggies and not too much rice. Same for their sesame jasmine bowl (pictured). It's interesting that they offer a wide variety of bowls but they all *taste* like Humbowl, i.e. the ingredients all work really well together. And I never feel sick or heavy after eating their meals. Humbowl is excellent with catering and attentive to food allergy requests, they're an excellent option for feeding a crowd with varied dietary needs. The owner Eric is very kind too and gives back to the community. Such a great local business!

You order at the counter, they bring out your bowl, and after that it's mostly self-serve. You have to go back up for water, condiments, napkins, and then clean up after yourself when you're done. I got the seasonabowl with rocky's chicken. It had green beans, sweet potatoes, sauteed veggies, and wild rice, with a mustard vinaigrette. Overall, the bowl tasted incredibly fresh, definitely fresher than something like Chipotle. The sweet potatoes were super tender and pretty much melted in my mouth. That said, my bowl came out to around $17 after tax and tip, and for that price, I don't know if I'd get it regularly. Compared to something like chipotle, where you get a bigger portion for less, this feels more like an option once in a while. I think a lot of what you're paying for here is the overall experience: the bright, well-lit space, the natural light, the nice seating, and the fact that you're right in Elmwood near the movie theater and a bunch of great dessert places. It's a good change of pace, and probably one of the more affordable lunch options in the area

Picked up take out from Humbowl in Berkeley on a Saturday afternoon. Located on busy College Ave, parking and traffic may be tough but you should be able to find spaces on neighboring side streets. The Thai curry bowl was delicious with a generous amount of roasted veggies and rice. The shrimp and tofu bowls were great too after mixing in the included sauce. The restaurant was clean with about 6-7 tables. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal - the food was prepared with fresh ingredients and tasted healthy. Our to-go boxes were secured well and organized in the take out bag. I'm glad I checked and asked for utensils since we were eating this on the go. Although the food was excellent, the employee's service felt quite distant and could have been more engaging.

Went for a Yelp event! The place was so cute and tidy. I got the seasonabowl (fall) with shrimp. I also purchased a drink- the strawberry passion. The bowl was good, especially with the mustard dressing with it, it gave it a little kick. I wish I would've added chili flakes to add a little spice to it. The staff were kind and knowledgeable about the menu.

Healthy, fresh, fast, and flavorful; what's not to love? Oh, and given the quality and location, reasonably priced! This is what fast food only wishes it could be, complete with vegan options and seasonal specialties. You get your food in a flash, and you can even see it being cooked from the open kitchen, so you can get in your way without any wait, it enjoy the spare but cool dining area. Free cucumber water seals the deal for me. If I was nearby, I'd come back on the daily!

Yum! My kids LOVE this place, which, as a mom of two grade school boys, means the world. I love that they get a healthy meal that they devour and I get to know that they got all the nutrients they needed, all super quick and reasonably priced. I am a huge fan of spicy food and enjoyed the homemade salsa (I even grabbed a bottle of my own on the way out). Super friendly staff and clean happy place. I only wish I lived closer so we could come weekly.

Still a winner. Fresh, healthy and fast. While not cheap - think about $15-$18 for a dish (with tax and tip), you leave feeling satiated, but not weighed down. I always opt for the dish with the most vegetables since they do them so well. Make sure to include some hot sauce to spice up the dish, as it leans a bit bland (I'd imagine because they keep additives to a minimum).

Great healthy to-go option that is also tasty! Counter service restaurant with plenty of seating inside. I got mine to go, and it carried well and they use compostable packaging. You can also order online for added convenience. The food is a healthy portion, cooked wonderfully, and the cilantro ginger sauce is absolutely delicious. They should sell the sauce by itself! The service was friendly, helpful, and efficient. I appreciate that they include neurodiversity in their support of diversity.

Delivery directly from their app. Love that you can customize your order and everything was neatly packaged!

Fresh, healthy, and delicious! Love this place! It's our go-to for a guilt free tasty meal. Everything is dairy free! Their sauces are all delicious; vibrant and savory. Sustainable packaging. The owner Eric is so nice! What's not to love? Tip: Order through their website/app for menu pricing, plus loyalty points!

We were looking for a quick, healthy place to eat, and Humbowl hit the spot. The bowls were large and packed with healthy veggies. The proteins were fresh, and the sauces were really what took it to the next level. The service was friendly, but the location itself isn't that comfortable. I would order to-go.

The burgers are loaded and perfectly balanced, the fries are always crisp (never soggy, which is rare), and everything tastes high-quality and made to order. You have to try the chicken and waffles. The waffle batter tastes homemade and the butter takes it to another level... it's one of those dishes you keep thinking about after. I'll even DoorDash it all the way to Jingletown. The patio setup is really well done... there's a mix of larger tables for groups and higher bar-style seating for smaller hangs. The wooden furniture and cushioned benches make it comfortable, and they've got heaters for colder days and umbrellas when it's sunny, so you can usually pick your ideal spot. We called to get a quote and had a discussion. After we gave the owner all of our information, she told us she wouldn't give us a quote unless we came in person (?!) Which is weird because this isn't how restaurants work. Typically for events restaurants will give you a quote via phone or email for the sake of convenience. We had gotten 3 quotes already from other restaurants via phone. Making us drive 45 mins just to get a quote is a total waste of time. Especially if we can't afford it. So my daughter called again, left a VM explaining we couldn't come in person due to time constraints, and again asked for a quote. No reply. We waited a few days and called again. No reply. Finally we got a voicemail from the owner saying that she didn't like my daughter's attitude ?!!! Apparently you're not allowed to ask this restaurant how much they charge for events unless you're face to face. This lady has absolutely no idea how to run a restaurant. I also like that this location has longer business hours than most GF bakeries and serves breakfast all day as well as lunch items. Another big plus is the allergens are clearly labeled online and in the shop. However, I've had negative experiences here on 3 consecutive visits. I go here for my gluten free partner. On one of the visits, I ordered a stuffed bagel and waited for 15 minutes before going back up to the counter to say that I still hadn't received my order. It was busy, but by this time, the person standing at the counter had nothing to do. They apologized and made my order then, but the experience left a bad impression on me since it was my first time eating inside the bakery. On my next visit, I ordered several items inside the bakery to take home with my pickup order and received a pain de chocolate instead of a cinnamon donut, which I didn't notice until I got home. The pain de chocolate costs more and my partner wasn't able to share it with me due to a soy allergy. I suppose I could've been paying more attention, but these items don't have similar names at all, so I was not expecting this error. That said, I made a mental note to pay more attention when ordering inside the bake shop for future orders. On my next visit, I ordered a mocha cupcake and berry muffin, but the cashier rang me up for a hand pie instead of a muffin. Again, the hand pie was more expensive. This time I caught it and asked for it to be corrected. I work in customer service and I act with kindness when mistakes are made because we're only human. However, I believe 3 negative experiences in a row shows a pattern and warrants some attention. I will continue to patronize this business due to the reasons I mentioned at the beginning of this review, but I will now have to be vigilant in ensuring that I receive the correct items and am charged the correct amount. This of course is not ideal. I hope service improves.

I'm not sure what kind of GF bread some people are used to, but this just was not good. That's an understatement! The loaf size is tiny and very dense. Eating it straight from the bag is not possible. The cinnamon raisin bread had maybe 1-2 raisins per slice. What frustrates me most is that I spent $85 for 6 loaves (including shipping), and I ended up throwing every single one away. Such a waste and such a disappointment.
