Currently eating my lemon and herb pita chips with artichoke hummus as we speak. I was never a big fan of hummus until I tried theirs today at Sf State's farmer's market. The hummus comes in 20+ flavors and is not as grainy; Hummus Heaven has a smoother consistency and that I like. The pita chips are also very flavorful and come in either lemon & herbs, or garlic & herbs. Customer service is great too. I was given plenty of samples before finding the one flavor I wanted considering that there are well over 20 flavors. I used to buy their products whenever I go to Farmer's Market in San Leandro and when they are in the hospital I work. Last Saturday, October 26 changed my mind and thought about how sanitary the food was. As I was standing next to my family deciding what to get either the Falafel or get Hummus instead. I saw the Hummus guy, eating and dipping into the containers that is being sold. The first container I saw was the orange color container. I thought he just checked if the lid was ajar. Then, he grabbed another one, green container slightly opened the lid and dipped in again. He probably didn't noticed I was watching him. He doesn't have a customer at that time. When I saw that there were customers there. I approached the stall, looked at the signage. I asked if his name is Tarek and Musad. He replied, no that's the owners. That is the most unsanitary thing to see. You would think you're buying a food that is clean and safe. I support small businesses. Changed my perception of this place. Never again. read more

SO good. I never considered myself a huge fan of hummus, but my husband and I stumbled across Hummus Heaven @ the Los Gatos farmer's market. The super friendly guy working the booth was full of energy and had us try every single flavor. I was blown away. We ended up buying 6 flavors and pita. BEST HUMMUS BY FAR! Knocks store bought hummus out of the park. Great variety of hummus flavors and spreads and pairs perfectly with their chips. I stopped by their stand at my local farmer's market and was glad I did. I've brought the Thai hummus, tomato basil spread and tomato basil hummus to gatherings, and they've all been hits! I've seen this place 100 or more times and always thought it was abandoned. I was proven wrong. It is open. People I work there have gone there and say it's really good. I ended up purchasing the roasted garlic hummus and have enjoyed it every single day since. I wanted to recognize the negative reviews on here that surprised me. The hummus I purchased very clearly states all of the ingredients along with the expiration date and tastes absolutely delicious. Okay, we have been going to Hummus Heaven booth randomly for about 2 years now in Livermore Farmer's Market and the flavors I tried were okay. They tasted similar to every other hummus on the market and the gentleman who is there was always very friendly. Especially to our son with samples or just trying to involve him in the transaction/conversation. It's been awhile since we have been to the market, maybe close to a year. Well today the gentleman was all business and not as friendly. But I won't judge him much on that due to disconnect towards others with this whole coronavirus thing. Anyways I have dragged you along long enough and I have to justify my 5 stars..... I just want to say how freakin amazing my roasted garlic/chive hummus and habanero hummus was today!! The habanero hummus was SPICY! But with so much flavor. So if if you like heat, buy this! The garlic/chive is such a versatile flavor that you can literally put it on a sandwich instead of mayo and not only would you save calories but you will gain flavor! I am suppose to be on a calorie deficit and I SWEAR I would put this stuff on any product from breakfast to midnight snacks and throw my calorie counting out the door! Lol but I won't I will incorporate this in multiple meals and make sure I am following my calories because it's very easy with hummus. It's heaven!!! Literally! Made in San Leandro, but they had a stand set up at the Willow Glen Farmers Market which is where I tried this. The man who makes and sells the hummus is extremely helpful! My girlfriend was just looking and he saw what we were looking at and handed us both samples before we knew it. He let us sample pretty much every single one without us having to ask for any. Every one was delicious! Even for people who don't usually like hummus, like my girlfriend and her dad, loved this. It's different from other hummus because these have such strong, different flavors. It doesn't feel like you're eating just another garbanzo bean spread. He even has an avocado cilantro one which is great because you get the health benefits from hummus but the deliciousness of avocado that we love. Really delicious hummus, lots of intriguing options like spicy bean hummus, sweet hummus, and the two I got - the spicy avocado cilantro and the artichoke jalapeño. Both are delicious. This is my favorite stop at the Union City farmer's market. They make great hummus and chips and the guys who work here are a hoot and generous with the samples which I am sure pays itself off manyfold. The hummus flavors are unique and all very good. My favorites are the artichoke and garlic. Watch out for the one with the habenero, it is spicy!! The chips are great too and a perfect accompaniment for the hummus. Apparently the owners are brothers from Tunisia and sell at a lot of farmer's markets and looking to expand to stores as well. These guys are amazing. We found them through the West Coast Farmers Market in Cupertino. They guided us through tasting all of their hummuses so we could make an informed decision about which one to purchase. It wasn't easy, still; they simply make the best hummus I've ever tasted. I was planning to serve carrots that night with an herby cream dip, and happily traded up for the Black Bean Chipotle hummus with harissa. They have amazing dolmas, too, and tzatziki sauce... I had only decided to go because my friends bought 4 tubs of hummus from him and I literally swear, it was like a hummus CRACK party! I could not stop myself from reaching for the carrots to dip in more and more hummus. When I showed up, it was a pretty plain stand, but don't let that fool you! He has a tray of ice with tubs and tubs of homemade hummus for you to try. Avocado cilantro, Artichoke, Lemon, Beet, Baked tofu salad. EVERYHING! I probably tried almost everything there with the small samples of homemade pita chips he gave to me. I had a hard time choosing, but finally went with the Artichoke hummus and the Tomato Basil hummus. His hummus is extremely fresh tasting with just the right amount of kick! The texture is super creamy and definitely well made. The baked tofu salad comes in a tub too and isn't too bad and has a Mediterranean kind of feel to it but wasn't toooooo appealing to me. He also sells a delicious roasted red pepper mayonnaise substitute for all the vegans out there. The hummus go for $5 for one tub, $9 for two, and $15 for 4 tubs. Not too bad for homemade hummus, and they last about a month! He also sells bags of homemade pita chips which are super crunch and not salty at all! If you're looking for any type of homemade hummus, come here. I've never seen so many different types of hummus in my life and look forward to buying a tub of each one eventually! I like to eat it with carrots as dip and I promise you I almost finished the entire tub I bought today already.
