Everything went well!! Hah. I love how Yelp asks/says "amazing! What went well?" Everything. This place genuinely surprised me. A friend and I had a pretty long day and we were a bit hungry. We decided on this spot. Great choice. Why. Because the service was quick and friendly 2. The food is amazing. The bread is Fresh and soft. I orders a hummus Shakshuka with 2 eggs and falafels and oh my let me tell you. The flavors were amazing! Not too much just perfect! I want to try more things on their menu. The ambiance is that of a small restaurant calm and relaxed. Will be coming back here and I plan on bringing more Mexican friends ahaha . I'm maxican so I can say this.

I went today to try this really beautiful small business and OMGGG SO GOOD :) i love shashuka so much and it's been hard looking for a new place with a full Mediterranean dish like this . Honestly the pita bread is so good along with the hummus , all I needed was the banana peppers but it's okay I'll get them next time ! So so good :) it feels like I'm at home ! I had 2 hours to drive anywhere in LA to find the best of the best hummus and my research led me to Hummus Yummy. I was skeptical that a hole in the wall Israeli joint in the valley would be the answer, but was I pleasantly surprised. After trying a ton of places, this is currently the unofficial champion. They have some of the best hummus, falafel and vegan apps in all of big bad LA. Being a recent transplant from the Bay Area, they remind me of Oren's Hummus. Shachar is the friendliest owner who made some recommendations. Everyone of which turned out to be excellent. He also hooked me up with Amba Sauce (tangy mango pickle), Yemenite Schug - Spicy Herb Garlic Pepper Sauce Recipe, some of the most flavorful Tahini (ground sesame paste) and for once I did not need the hot sauce to add any flavor. Everything is authentic - reminded me of all I ate in a trip to the Middle East. They bake their own (pita) bread from imported ingredients, fresh everyday! My partner isn't the biggest fan of falafels, and she went for a second helping. While the falafel was excellent, crisp, chewy and delicious, it was the hummus that blew my mind. Go for the Hummus Falafel, 4 pieces of falafels with the most luxurious and fresh hummus. You know it's authentic when you get raw onion (lol), olives and pepper as you do in the levant to scoop your hummus along with Pita. The star is the mushroom hummus, with succulent pieces of cooked mushrooms that sit on top of pillowy soft hummus with olive oil and tahini. Competing on its own stride, is masabacha, a thicker kind of hummus with whole chickpeas. I got mine loaded with sides of Mushrooms, Roasted Spicy Bell Pepper, Fried Eggplant, Grilled Onions - all for a very reasonable and worth it $1/side. Since I felt greedy, and it was a schlep to drive to valley village from Santa Monica, I took Shachar's advice and loaded up on vegan apps. And boy was that an insanely delicious decision. Veggie Kobbeh - 2 deep fried bulgur wheat mix spices stuffed with veggie mash. Vegan Shawarma - with grilled onions and garnished with parsley . Vegan margez: 2 stir fried spicy vegan margez served with tahini sauce. Of the 3 vegan apps, Kobbeh was my favorite, following by the schwarma. I really liked the flavor of the vegan margez sausage, but the 'sausage casing' put me off a little and made it plasticky. If you are looking for great value mediterranean food without compromising on flavor or quality of ingredients, Hummus Yummy has the best hummus in LA. As the terminator once said, I'll be back. Tip: Free street parking Tip: Order on their website and support a small business directly. Tip: Request fresh Amba and schug sauces.

Food, ambience and service were exceptional! Thumbs up to Hummus Yummy! This place is a Gem on the Blvd. As soon as I walked in it felt "homey". Compact, clean,warm and inviting. Tried sabich platter and falafel. It was delicious. I've given up on finding an authentic and tasty falafel in LA years ago and decided to give it a try. It did not disappoint!! The falafel was served hot, cooked to perfection, right color, texture, crispness and taste. Perfection! A real delight and a sweet surprise for me. Very, very good humus and the rest of the very diverse menu full of unique and delicious freshly made food. I tried to eat there at least once a week, and for example I ate there in the last two days!!! I bring with me friends and business associates that each one that I bring there loves it and goes back by himself. One of the best experiences that is close to "the real thing" here in America, when you get a variety of salads and fresh oven pitas. The meat is delightful. The food was incredible. Obviously I ordered what I saw five other people eating in there and I was like I have to get that and I'm so happy I did. The falafel is the best falafel and the vegan. Shawarma was just absolutely amazing and obviously the fries the hummus is amazing. I just have no complaints. I would write an 11 out of 10. I even told my husband I can't believe you never brought me here before and you've been here so many times absolutely obsessed And I will be back. Service is amazing read more

Without any exaggeration added, this is by far the best food I have ever had in my life! The pita bread literally melts in your mouth like cotton candy during each bite, the falafel was so flavorful and soft, it meshed right in. The fries were seasoned to perfection and they bring you pickled veggies which I topped the fries with, as well as their signature sauces and it was absolutely phenomenal! The owner was amazing and really worked with me on my meal. The cook brought my meal out to me personally and offered me a drink with my order. He was extremely sweet and went through the menu with me for my next visit! I would visit this place again X100 and I can't wait to bring my friends!! The inside was super cozy, but I opted into sitting outside due to the weather. I don't think I'll be able to eat hummus anywhere else! I got with chickpeas and fava beans on top. Also love the falafel and fresh pita and a little pickles they serve with it. Our Hummus comes with your choice of cooked and flavored garbanzo beans, fava beans ( Ful ), Tahini, flavored mushrooms,falafel,sabich and Sh'aksukha (sauce only is a vegan option) . So we came up with the idea of "Hummus Yummy Food truck"! That way we can serve all of our great customers and at the same time reach out to a wider crowd that should be able to enjoy the real deal. Order and pay at the counter, bring your number to a table and wait for a runner to bring your food. The interior is clean, spare and roomy, but with the cold-ish feel of a market that's had tables added rather than a true "restaurant." Chains like Joan's On 3rd or Le Pain Quotidien are the models, repeated by privately owned places like Claudine in Encino or Pascal in Canoga Park (probably the best of the lot). They're all convenient, family-friendly, good for groups, and often disappointing. We dropped in for Sunday breakfast and were greeted by a gregarious guy at the counter who felt the need to call me "buddy," despite the fact that I'm neither a feisty terrier or a 4-year old holding a toy dinosaur. We placed our order and found a table, and our drinks were quickly brought to us. My wife set about fixing her coffee the way she likes it (using wood stirrers because no spoon was brought), and I had to go back to the counter to request napkins. Did I mention that the pay portal at the counter suggested a 20% or 25% tip despite the fact that we were going to get very little service? Anyhoo... I ordered the Breakfast Sammie (cute name; just perfect for a Buddy). This was a Swiss Cheese Omelet on a griddled Croissant with their signature Sweet & Spicy Bacon plus a Tomato Jam that I chose to delete. The sandwich was generously portioned, and looked quite good, though the texture of the croissant screamed "commercial bakery delivery" rather than anything made in-house. The eggs were fresh and properly prepared, the Swiss had a good bite, and the bacon was appealingly sweet (I didn't detect any real spice). A small side of hash browns were nicely crisped and had good flavor. Overall, the sandwich was fine, but I would have enjoyed it more on a better quality croissant or almost any other house-baked bread. And so, this was a completely serviceable breakfast, but nothing to write home about or race back to. I'd rather head to Pascal, where they have a much larger menu, and the baked goods are truly excellent.
