We had always talked about trying this place but never did before tonight. Our thought was the dumplings were going to be greasy. COULD NOT have been more wrong. Thank you for having a vegan menu item! The vegan mac n cheese dumpling is great. Their menu describes the cheese sauce to be made of "nutritional yeast, potato, and carrot" so don't expect it to taste like vegan companies' cheese products. I got to try all the sauces on my dumplings and I like to use the BBQ sauce the most. I'm a big fan of hot sauce so I really enjoyed their hot sauce that they had out -- pure heat, no vinegar taste. read more

Dumplings are only sold in groups of 5 unless you head over on Wednesday when they have $1 dumplings. Typically you can not mix Sweet and savory but the counter guy was feeling friendly and allowed me to do so. My friend and I ordered a cheesesteak noodles and a 5 pack of dumplings. Taco, buffalo chicken, cheesesteak, apple pie and cheesecake. There are sauces on the table are great for dipping. As a condiment lover, enjoyed them greatly! The dumplings were packed with flavor. The cheesesteak was my favorite savory And the cheesecake my favorite sweet. Apparently cheese is the key to my happiness! I might have ordered another if they available individually. The noodles were fresh. Ramen style but fancier. They were tossed in a white super gooey delicious cheese sauce with large pieces of cheesesteak and perfectly cut scallions. Atmosphere: Absolutely like another reviewer said, it's the front of a food truck. Don't expect fine dining... duh. You go in, order, and then grab a seat... they'll bring your food out to you. I've had this place a few times, it's just ok. Maybe it was great when it first opened and cheesesteak dumplings were a novelty, but time moves on and Humpty's hasn't. The dumplings are uninspired and usually dried out and the last two times I ate in, (pre-pandemic) the place was especially dirty. If you prefer your cheese steak in dumpling form then maybe this is the place for you, but there are far too many better restaurants in the area for me to continue trying my luck here. read more

Such fun and tasty food at humpty dumplings! The dumplings are succulent and flavorful with many different varieties to enjoy--cheesesteak, roast park, cheeseburger, and honey chipotle just to name a few. They are not only yummy but really fun to eat. Make sure you eat them with the sauces! The only reservation I have is the size. I anticipated them to be a bit bigger as the pictures gave the impression that they were large. Getting 2 would not be filling, so take advantage of getting the 5 for $5 on Wednesdays. This place is such a great hole in the wall eatery and I'm in love with it. Located right on the Keswick circle, it is an incredible food spot and very accessible if you just want to spend a couple hours walking around Glenside. Their dumplings are great and their noodles are absolutely guaranteed to cheer you up. Try the Buffalo Chicken noodle bowl!!! Also the menu changes so there is always something new to look forward to! But more than just the incredible food, is the friendly and helpful staff. Specifically an inspiring guy named Nate. I can always be sure, no matter what mood I'm in, that if Nate is working the counter, my day looks up instantly. Ok, not what I was expecting but tried with an open mind. I tried cheese steak dumpling and some pineapple pork noodles. The 'dumpling' was pretty good but really simple. Just a ball of meat put together with cheese and fried up. A good pub snack, but very simple and doesn't have different ingredients mixed in with it. The noodles were not good. It was very simply made, large chunks of onion, pineapple tossed in with some pork. Marinade was sweet without much other flavor and it just felt like I was eating overpriced, fast, cafeteria food. like 4 chunks of bbq pork, 4 haphazardly cut onions and pineapple bathing in sweet sugary sauce. yuck. It almost just felt like eating a terrible simplified version of asian food made by people that don't really understand it.. Humpty's Dumplings sat on my plate. Humpty's Dumplings tasted pretty great. And all of the sauces and all of the noodles, Made me love Humpty's oodles and oodles! Was seeing a show at the Keswick and had to stop here for a bite first! $30 for dinner for 2 (and leftovers) was pretty great. Vibe is casual with a few high top tables, regular tables and a long bar. Service was pretty fast. We got the sampler of 5 savory dumps (cheesesteak, spinach ricotta, honey chipotle chicken, roast pork and brocolli rabe, and of course buffalo chicken). Deep fried and a great value. We were impressed with the cheesesteak and spinach. There are some great house made sauces to add. Don't forget the noodles! Huge portion and the cheesesteak noodles were amazing. Definitely recommend. We finished off the meal with 5 tiny blueberry cheesecake dumps (cheesecake filling, dusted with graham cracker, dipped in blueberry sauce). It was a lot, wish there was a smaller portion of these, but they were really good. They were out of a few of the specials (so don't get too excited before asking). Looking forward to seeing these guys at some festivals in Philly this summer! They said they'd be at the Manayunk Festival, and they were at the Italian Market festival last year so I'm hoping to see them there! What was good: -Atmosphere was modern casual limited seating but wasn't busy -service was fine -clean bathrooms -the honey chipotle chicken dumplings BUT the sauce it came with was way too sweet. The dumpling flavors were too weird for me such as cheese steak and cheddar broccoli. The golden dumplings were really good but the noodles were kinda hard and I think it should have more flavor of the chicken. Went here on a whim with my mom because she came upon it on her online search. Looked it up on yelp only to find out I had bookmark'd it long ago. This is a great little spot right down the street from the Kensington theater. A little industrial vibes with mostly counter seating and two tables. They have a small but effective menu offering 1 salad , dumplings, and bowls as well as combos. I went with the combo of a bowl and dumplings and ended up taking the dumplings home because the bowl was huge ! The dumplings were good. There was only one I didn't care for and that was the vegetarian burrito one which mostly tasted like mush. Good concept, bad execution. Aside from that the rest were good. The Asian chicken one tasted like a pot sticker, the chipotle honey bbq was probably my favorite! The pork and Mac and cheese lacked pork but the Mac was so good! I wish they just sold Mac. And the buffalo chicken was good. Now for the bowl. It was extremely tasty. They definitely use frozen veggies mixed with some fresh. The flavor was good though! I got the pot pie one and the crust on top was delicious paired with the creaminess of the rest of the bowl! So good. The noodles could have been cooked a tad longer. So imagine how excited I was when I heard they had vegan Mac n cheese dumplings as a special! First of all, I loved the casual ordering style. I just walked up to the counter to order my food, sat down, and in less than 5 minutes they brought out a basket with my food. Perfect for single diners. The dumplings were large and worth the price at 6 dumplings for $9. The food was absolutely delicious! They didn't skimp out on the filling at all. Expectations are everything and I had verrry high expectations for Humpty Dumplings and I'm sad to say that I was disappointed. The location in Glenside is right by the Keswick Theatre, so it is in a prime spot if you are looking to go somewhere quick before a show, which is what we did, but with that being said the food was just okay. First off - they are not dumplings. I was expecting the asian type soft outside dumplings filled with tasty and unique things, such as buffalo chicken, edamame, thanksgiving flavored, etc. Instead, these so-called 'dumplings' are basically just fried balls, similar to mac and cheese bites you would get at the Cheesecake Factory. I also didn't like that you HAD to order 5 at a time...dude, what if I only wanted one or two, which I did. Let me pay for what I want!!! It's 2017, you should know this by now - options and a la carte is EVERYTHING! In addition to the dumplings not being dumplings, I also tried the chicken pot pie noodles! I should've honestly just gotten that because it was pretty good. What I didn't like, however, was that there were ZERO vegetarian options for noodles. I'm not a veg, but I think that is super inconsiderate. Like I just said - hello it is 2017, give the people what they want. This is also a grab and go. Order at the counter, take a number, they bring it to you. That being said it's way too pricey here for that type of meal. It's also BYOB, but it took them 15 minutes to find a wine opener and we had to drink out of solo cups. The place is also very small and the line got out the door and you could hardly walk to get to the bathroom. This review was a hard one for me. The wife and I were in the area and looking for dinner. She is on a huge dumpling kick, I saw the 4 stars and we just went. They have a big food truck parked out back and this is more what I expect for a food truck. Deep fried wontons filled with fillings. I went into it seeing the 4 yelp star restaurant and thought it was going to be different. But it's the storefront of a food truck and that's OK. We had a big mix and they were all good. Not great but good. My order of preference : Chipotle chicken, sausage, Asian, cheese steak, Buffalo. Buffalo was barely spicy which limits it's flavor in the small package.
