Upon arriving, I ordered their super spicy noodle soup with beef innards via the QR code. I usually prefer just beef chunks with the noodles for easy eating, but they don't offer that with the super spicy flavor which I like. Depending on which one you order, there's an extra bowl that contains the flavor and meat for your specific type of noodles soup. 1. Special rice noodles with beef bone (super spicy): this was indeed extremely spicy!! Like REALLY spicy!! But I love spice, so this was amazing. The beef was also seasoned extremely well and they give a nice cut of it 2. Special rice noodles with meat, bamboo shoots, and pickles: I'm not a huge fan of pickled things, so I thought this was okay 3. Salty crispy chicken: this is their version of popcorn chicken. I actually like this place a lot! We stumbled upon this when we are in the area looking for something warm and hearty and this is exactly that. Parking is good and the staff is very kind. There are also machines to let you order take out if needed and the wait to be seated was very short. We got chicken Kaarage, both of the non-spicy options of Mifen. I do think there are more spicy options on the menu than not. They give you the mifen noodles and the pork toppings in separate bowls so when you get the food you can mix them together yourself. My impression of hunanese mifen is that, no matter what place you visit, its going to be super spicy. However, Hunan Mifen has a lot of options and provides the soup base / braised meat / spicy sauce separately, so you can make adjustments as needed for your meal. For the non-spicy option, the Tomato based beef soup is my favorite. It is super filling, with generous portions of meat. The standard hunan mifen (spicy) is also quite good. If you're not sure just ask what to order. Also, you'll want to try the popcorn chicken, which can be really good, or average. Last but not least, they are currently having a seasonal item that has a stinky tofu smell, so you'll probably "experience" it the first few minutes, but they have strong fans, so it'll just go away eventually. read more

First restaurant where I used a QR code to see the menu, make a selection, order the food, and pay the bill. $16 rice noodles with spicy crayfish came with the main ingredients in a large bowl with spicy sauce, including noodles and ample number of peeled crayfish. Could not separate the sauce from the seafood here. Second smaller bowl with the broth. Tasty and spicy. Noodles almost tasted like wheat noodles. The $14 rice noodles with braised beef sirloin and tomato tasted good, not too spicy with very thick and firm rice noodles. Came with a bowl with one small piece of beef and five beef tendons. So little beef that my vegetarian brother-in-law could eat it. Should be called rice noodles with beef tendon and tomato, and priced downward accordingly. I waited at the opening during lunch time to be seated as the first diner. I have to say the food did not disappoint. The Noodle was fresh and chewy at the right amount. There is plenty of meat (whatever you choose) and enough noodles that makes it worth your money. The service is extremely efficient and noodles come out quickly. I feel like the employees here kind of speak to you like they are your aunt- I feel like they make sure they have what you need, which is really nice. There isn't a whole lot of seating inside, but they do have a couple tables outside. It doesn't look as modern, but comfortable enough. The food is super good. The combo is such a good idea, especially if you get a spicy rice noodle dish. When you feel like it gets too spicy, you can eat some of the cold green bean soup to cool off. You can also pick what appetizer you want. We got the popcorn chicken, which was just so satisfying. The rice noodles themselves were pretty good, the flavor was strong and satisfying. If you order a spicy one, the spice and meat comes in a separate bowl so you can adjust how much spice you want to add. I've walked by this place numerous times and the place is always busy, which is a good sign. The menu comes in the form of a.qr code so keep your phone handy. The decor is a bit drab and i could smell the cleaner they use to clean the tables so that took away from the atmosphere. I ordered the ribeye noodle bowl. It came super quick. Tried this place twice, the first time I've had it, I tried the spicy beef with bone. I felt like it's more difficult to eat and it can get messy. The second time, I tried the spicy intestine noodle soup. I prefer this one more as it's a lot easier to eat. The chili oil can get spicy! Very special for the way you are served. They separate the noddle from the meat and let you decide how to eat them. You can mix them and eat them. This is the normal way. The mifen here reminds me of what I eat when I visit my grandma in Hunan! An incredibly delicious bowl of noodles can be found here. You order via QR code on your phone and the food is brought out to you pretty quickly. Sides of meat and veggies can be added if you wish. Beware this store WILL NOT ISSUE REFUND under ANY circumstances. I accidentally made an online order to the Sunnyvale store while intending to order from Newark. After clicking confirm, I saw that it was for the Sunnyvale location, and immediately called them to cancel, and the first thing they told me that it is not possible to refund because they have already finished cooking, which doesn't even make sense since not even a minute has passed. After repeatedly pleading with them over the phone, saying that it was an honest mistake, asking for a refund, they consistently refused, saying that it was company policy, and it was my mistake. They just kept telling me to drive 50 minutes during traffic to drive from Newark to Sunnyvale to pick it up. They do a lot of take-out orders. They offer just a few noddle soup meals. I ordered the beef with tomatoes noodle soup. The flavor was quite good. The noodles were good quality. But the beef was poor quality - some of it I could not even chew or swallow. So my recommendation to the Hunan Mifin manager and owner is to purchase a better quality beef; if they can keep the same price, that is good, but even having to raise the price a little is worth it to achieve customer satisfaction and increase repeat business.
