I like stinky tofu and used to get it at Southland Flavor Cafe before they closed down. The Southland version didn't compare to the Michelin-starred place in Taipei, but it was good, if not quite stinky as I would have liked. I didn't have high expectations for this stinky tofu, because it looked like a different type and was in what appeared to be a soupier broth, based on the poster, but went ahead and got two orders to-go, sight unseen, as I knew every member of the family would want to try it. When I cracked open the container, I was hit with the strong waff of the fermented tofu and it wasn't the soupy broth, but more of a drier sauce, like closer to the Michelin stuff in,Taipei, if not drier. It was a touch spicy, and the stinky level was stronger than version I got at Southland. If Southland was 5/10 and the Michelson was a 10/10, I would give this a solid 8/10. If you love stinky tofu, this is a great version without having to fly to Taiwan. Very surprised by it, in a great way!

Hubby and I went on a date night and ordered chicken fried rice (huge portion and good "wok hei" taste - IYKYK!), Shaking Beef (so tender and yummy, but just a wee bit too salty), and Roasted garlic and basil fish filet (probably our favorite! I added some mayo at home. It needed some kind of sauce because the sandwich was a bit dry despite having lots of veggies. The carrots and daikon did not taste like they were pickled. The bread was toasty crispy crust but soft on the inside. Got it to go as it was close to closing time. Nice dining area. Clean, inviting and spacious. They also sell their dimsim frozen. I heard from the staff talking to another customer that the restaurant has the same owner as Ginger Cafe which was about a mile away.
