Oatmeal with fruit and Cool Breeze smoothie
    Kathryn O.

So I've been traveling and I'm tired, and I need something to pick me up. This lovely little place is perfect! I had a Cool Breeze smoothie and oatmeal with fruit and macadamia nuts. Maybe that doesn't sound so exciting, but it was absolutely delicious and just what I needed to get going. My family had avocado toast, the fruit croissant, smoothies and teas, and everything was fresh and vibrant. The service was very friendly. Thanks for making our first morning in Hawaii so fun!

Whenever I come back to Kona, the only place I am having bfst is this family owned cafe. Every dish we ordered, we ordered like 8 dishes, were all prepared with so much care and effort to get them exactly right. Right from the perfectly toasted focassia bread to the custom croissant sandwich and the bfst burrito the place excels in taste, wonderfully warm service and also validates your parking (which believe me is a big plus on this stretch) with a cute little Jesus watching over your friends. We did say grace . Will definitely be here again. Thanks guys.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice place for families I'd say because of the games that are available like a large connect 4, jenga, etc.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So many drink choices for coffee and super super sweet if that's your thing. Iced, hot or frappe for really any drink. Decent food items. So good choices I got I wouldn't get again but I'm glad I tried the breakfast burrito. If you like a lot of mushrooms and eggs get it. The Hawaiian chicken salad sandwich was alright and crispy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Depends on the day for ambiance as it can get pretty busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    BAT with focaccia bread

Service is fast, [[HIGHLIGHT]]establishment is clean and big![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food was excellent. The BAT on focaccia was a HIT! The fruit parfait was her favorite here . Rich and creamy with plenty of fruit. The Kona sunset smoothie was tasty. If I wasn't leaving today I would be back again.

We needed something quick and light to eat after walking around Kona for a while and came across the Hungry Honu and it was perfect for what we were looking for. While the menu was not super extensive, the food was very fresh and delicious. We tried the green goodness turkey wrap and the Hawaiian chicken salad as a bagel sandwich, and both were really good. We were able to order quickly and our food came out in reasonable time. The food was especially refreshing after having eaten quite heavy "vacation meals" most of the week, so having something light and fresh really hit the spot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself is tucked back off the main road but has a huge indoor seating area as well as a few tables outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely a solid spot for a fresh bite in Kona!

Randomly decided to come here and we are glad we did! I gotten the island time smooth which was nice and refreshing. Then the kalua pork sandwich! They truly know how to make a sandwich! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plus the staff was really nice and the place was clean![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

A hidden gem of Kona. Slightly off the main Ali'i drive in the Kona Plaza Condominium shops, this place is amazing! Craft coffee drinks and food that is both delicious and well priced. I got a Lucky Charm cold brew (cold brew with mint Irish cream cold foam topped with lucky charm marshmallows) and a breakfast pizza. The sauce on the pizza is sausage gravy and it was absolutely delicious. The pizza could easily feed 2-4 people. My wife got a smoothie and a jet lag wrap. The wrap was huge compared to most other breakfast spots we have eaten at in Kona, so your money definitely goes a lot further here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lastly the service was friendly and fast, and the casual atmosphere was nice and kid friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We played cards while waiting for our food. We are staying above this spot and will definitely be back to try more goodies! Also, a cool touch is instead of order numbers, they have order animals where you can learn about Hawaii's wildlife while you wait!

Chicken salad sandwich on fresh warmed focaccia bread

We really searched for something fresh that was that is the so customary bar food in this part of town. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place was a hidden gem. Off the beaten track and rewarded for going in[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]So many fresh food choices, lots of space, wonderful staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you are looking for a great place for lunch or breakfast give this great establishment a try.

A cute little place in Kona. Not conveniently located lol. The yelp address on Apple Maps took me to some apartment structure and just kinda left me hanging. I ended up driving down a one way alley to find it. I didn't know where to park except in this huge parking lot that for 1 hour of parking was $13! I took my chances tho and didn't pre pay the parking. I'm assuming this place isn't too happening because there were 3 other customers. I'm not sure if the server was joking with one of the customers but at the register I heard cussing between them and it sounded kinda heated. I had the turkey avocado sandwich and it was as yummy as any deli sandwich. Not super impressed but didn't hate it.

What a great find tucked away in the back of Kona Marketplace where Na Hoku jewelers and Pearl Diver Factory front Alii Drive. Walk into the Kona Plaza arcade and turn right then head toward Sarona Road and go left into the restaurant. I had the combo bowl of clam chowder and a half BAT (bacon arugula and tomato) sandwich . Generous servings, lots of bacon! Thursday special was 20% off coffee drinks. Great service, very clean. My friend are will be back to try more specials and food before she puts together a group luncheon social next month.

Super cute off the beaten path in a little nook. Plenty of options for the whole family. Quite area with games to play and enjoy.

Great Kona coffee in a wonderful casual atmosphere!…read more I had to meet up/interview a potential Big Island candidate in Kailua-Kona and I was basically looking for a casual place where I could meet, enjoy a drink, and have a little bit of conversation. Kona Coffee & Tea was the place of choice here in Kailua-Kona. Located at the Kona Coast Shopping Center, you can find this little coffee shop just next door from KFC. The coffee shop is easy to find, as other business surrounding this business is the KTA Superstore, Hele Gas Station, HFS Federal Credit Union, O'Reilly Auto Parts, as well as many numerous eateries. It was late in the afternoon, so I basically came here for some drinks. I had to try their Kona Coffee, and I must say it did not disappoint! The coffee shop has indoor, as well as covered outdoor seating. The shop does sell some food items, but I did not partake or looked at what they had to offer. There was also coffee shop merchandise, but I did not have time to take a look at what they had to offer. Overall, as great coffee shop and if I'm in the area again, I wouldn't hesitate to stop by for their wonderful coffee.

Unless you're a coffee connoisseur, you may want to skip the pour over for something a bit less special to save yourself a few dollars. The coffee was fine, but my unrefined palette was not able to fully appreciate the cup of brew. In terms of atmosphere, Kona Coffee & Tea has plenty of seating outdoors around the porch and a few high tables indoor, where they have AC blasting at full strength. They have free Wi-Fi available as well, so I saw a lot of people posting up on their laptops. Parking is plentiful and easy to find since this coffee spot is located in a strip mall. If you have a discerning palette for the subtle flavors that show up in different coffee beans, you will definitely want to stop by for a cup.

Came back a few more times since it's so good and their lattes are very consistent! We also tried their vegan chocolate croissant. They helped us warm up the croissant, but it was still cold on the inside (the chocolate filling and bottom side of the pastry). That was a bit disappointing, but it still tasted good and probably would have been even better thoroughly warmed! (The ice cream is NOT vegan for those wondering if it's vegan ice cream. We inquired since they don't serve cow milk in their coffees, so we thought maybe their ice cream was so vegan.)
