Went there for dinner. Had to wait ten minutes to be seated even though there was only six people in the restaurant. My brother had a taco salad that had no meat only salad and refried beans. We decided we wanted Mexican, I liked the chips and salsa they had at the old restaurant near the War College. I looked at the reviews for this place and they are terrible. Worse still the owners do not respond to the issues their customers raise. However we thought we would judge for ourselves. The menu is very large, too large in my opinion as to how can everything be fresh. I had the carnitas at. $11.95. The roasted pork chunks were delicious, they had a crunchy bark and then tender. Nicely seasoned. It was served with rice, beans and a bit of salad. The rice and beans were good. I would suggest they serve the salad separate as with most take outs the dish needed a couple of minutes in the microwave. I would definitely reorder this dish again. We also had some chips and salsa that was good. I wish they had an entree or appetiser with chicharrones made from belly pork. I would be there every week if chicharrones was on the menu. read more

What a wonderful delicious fun family dinNer Friday night at El Rodeo. No wonder this is my granddaughters favorite restaurant. At first warm delicious chips with salsa. Then a huge bowl of freshly made quacomole dip and more chips yummy! For dinner soft taacos beef with rice beans then steak fanatics, delicious and positively piping hot. I have been here several times. The food is always plentiful and hot upon arrival to the table. The server's are very good and keep your glass filled with whatever your drinking. They do offer alcohol at a small bar they have. I always find something on the menu to try. My favorite is the Seafood Chimichanga. read more

El Rodeo had moved its location to High Street. Found it anyway. The business should correct its address on Yelp. Enjoyed the food. The decor is classic Mexican with bright art pieces, dark hardwoods and colorful tiles. We had Hawaiian fajitas and Carnitas Mexicanas. I love carnitas. El Rodeo's were good, but not the most flavor-filled I've had. The meat was tender and probably fine for someone not always hunting for great carnitas. The refried beans were a bit cold; cheese didn't even melt atop the beans. The fajitas had chicken, steak and shrimp with tomatoes and peppers and onion. Very good; served in a half pineapple. First Mexican eatery that did not refill the tortilla chips customarily served with salsa upon arrival. Service was a bit slow although the restaurant was empty except for us. It was after lunch rush I assume. And like with most places nowadays, not much staff. Plan to return to El Rodeo, but a different location next time. Meh. Not bad for hot plate Mexican at a chain, but just be careful ordering some of their dishes. Case in point: their beef chile relleno doesn't come stuffed in the actual chile. It comes looking like overcooked dog food. But if you order the cheese chile relleno, THAT they do stuff. read more

I don't understand the hating on this place. The food is good, reasonably priced and service is good. Yes there are probably better "authentic" Mexican restaurants but this suits me just fine. I had the fajitas nachos (I was hungry for fajitas but didn't feel like messing with them) with steak. The meat was tender, the veggies were crisp and sweet and the sauce was tasty. The place is always like a freezer in side to cold to eat. Never friendly. And refuse to take order at door say you have to call to order or go on inter to order I am sorry but if you have someone standing at the door to order and you refuse to take that order you don't need my business and will never get my business every again. The last 3 times I have tried to go here and eat always a issue never get served always have to leave and go elsewhere. First, the good: The new location is clean and attractive. The frozen margarita was large and delicious. However, the bad: Nobody seemed to care about the food quality. The mole poblano was just a pile of shredded chicken with sauce dumped on top. The food arrived lukewarm, so I sent it back to be heated. No one bothered to scrape the little salad off the plate and provide a fresh one, so it got baked as well. Disappointing. read more

This is one of the slowest and worst restraints ever. I travel a lot and this would be in my top 5 worst restraints. When we got there there wasn't that many people it was a good start then we ordered. Our drinks didn't come out till after our meal which it felt like an hour. The restaurant is very popular. The parking lot is small with only two handicapped spaces. We decided to give them a try on a Saturday evening around 5:45pm. There was a 15 minute wait to be seated. The wife had a Taco salad w/ a side of guacamole, I had a beef tip Chimichanga house special with a side of Mexican rice. Our Granddaughter had a child's macaroni ad cheese w/ fries. Portion sizes were generous. The food arrived fresh and hot and very quickly. Our waitress Sayra was very helpful and attentive. Drinks were only allowed to get to the 3/4 empty point before being refilled. The overall cost for our evening meal was $32.00. Not bad for Mexican food. read more

By far, the worst Mexican food I have ever had! The ground beef was bland with no flavor whatsoever. My son's chicken fingers came out half raw. We sent back, and his next plate had fries not completely cooked ( a deep fryer shouldn't be that hard to work!). My chicken taco was half decent, but my hisband's beef taco wasn't completely cooked. There were raw pieces of beef. When we pointed it out, they told us it was the color of the seasonings that they use.....sorry but no. I know what raw ground beef looks like. DO NOT COME HERE! This restaurant moved locations in Carlisle so my family and I decided to give it another chance. BIG MISTAKE!!! While the food seemed good, we really paid for it later. My 5 family members and I ALL got food poisoning from this place the day after eating at it. We all got completely different meals and still received food poisoning. Stopped in Carlisle for dinner and found this place. Wait staff is very friendly. I found the free salsa to be a bit salty for my palate. A grapefruit margarita was made to order for me and it was quite tasty. For dinner I had the San Jose Burrito. A very filling and yummy dish. read more

This place should not be in business. I tried it twice (reluctantly the second time). Two bites into my quesadilla I encounter a thick black hair. I was done. Chips for all the dips are sold separately and no matter how many guests, you have to pay for all salsa after the first bowl they give you. Never again. Ordered steak fajitas and got chicken fajitas. They took it back and brought the steak and I wished I had kept the chicken. It was the toughest meat I've ever tried to eat. Also, when you order cheese and jalapenos (which cost extra) they put it on top of the fajitas instead of on the side with the other condiments. Never saw that before and it makes the whole dish gloppier than it should be. I ate what I was given but I didn't get what I ordered and went away thinking "never go there again". Ordered online for 15 to 20 minute pickup and had to wait an hour after arriving. When I arrived for pickup they said 15 to 20 minutes yet due to being busy. When I came back in 20 minutes later they said they didn't know I was actually picking up since I ordered online and that they were telling the chef then to go ahead with the order and to wait longer. They tried to blame me saying they called to confirm the order and I didn't pick up; I had an unknown number call and not leave a message and when I returned the call got a robot so couldn't of confirmed or known it was them since they didn't leave a message. The manager was not understanding and gave excuses about the move and not trusting online orders. If there is a problem with online orders then the option shouldn't be available. I had a five week old baby impatiently waiting in the car with my husband so this was extremely inconvenient, and I won't be going back any time soon. read more
