Can I say how many things I love about Hungry's? One of my all time fave and go-to's is the Black Bean Orzo Pasta Salad with the grilled shrimp. I have NEVER been disappointed with this at any location. My other fave is the Anaheim Chicken; the chicken is always so moist and tender, never tough or dry. I did try the Tostada Salad once and have to say it is not my fave; i will add that it tasted good and nothing was wrong with it - I think I'm just too in love with my favorite lol. The brownies are sinful, decadent and über fudgey. I always order and take out and have never sat in and enjoyed the experience to give a full 5 stars just yet. I will add that I do love the special parking for to-go and pick up orders so you can easily just run in and not drive out back to find a parking spot. I have maybe had one or two times where the staff didn't seem too keen to the fact that I was trying to place a to go order; however for the most part, I've never really had any issue and my orders have always been perfect. read more

I have always enjoyed my eating experience at Hungry's on Rice Blvd, I work in West U. Unfortunately today wasn't a good experience. I ordered the salmon and lettuce wedge curbside, this is always my favorite dish. My salmon was (fishy), the lettuce wedge appeared old, and the pita bread was hard. On the way to the bar is a picture perfect green wall to take pictures ! I love the fruit with the meal ! As it heats up little things like this add to the meal ! Came in on Saturday for brunch, and they were busy but there was no wait. Our server was really friendly and we did get our drinks quick. We had black coffee, a latte, and orange juice. The coffee was not great but it might've been because of the hair we found on the cup. The latte looked like it came out of a machine and it was not good. The OJ was decent, not too sweet and fresh. Our food took about 30 min, and we ordered the following: Tex Mex omelette; I asked for salad instead of potatoes and the kitchen got it the other way around. Normal mistake our sever brought me a salad real quick. The omelette was nothing to brag about, eggs were a bit over cooked and some of the fajita beef tasted funky. Although I didn't want potatoes, those were good. Salad has a good flavor but it needed just a little more dressing Farmers goat cheese omelette; it had zero goat cheese and it was dry and overcooked. Same comments as above for potatoes & salad. Food & coffee wise, it was a poor experience. Not sure why would they not invest in a decent espresso machine and good coffee. The kitchen does need to work on not overcooking the omelets and maybe re-stoking on goat cheese. Service was really good, but there's very little they can do when the food is not good. read more

Hungry's? More like, Starving!!! Yesterday my wife, brother, and I decided to check out Hungry's for a late afternoon lunch yesterday (a Saturday) around 3pm. The hostess sat us outside on the patio (it wasn't very busy) since the weather was nice. We then proceeded to wait.... and wait.... and wait for a server to come and greet us and offer to take our drink order. I'm not exaggerating when I say that we waited for 25 minutes before having to make the decision to simply get up and leave. We even tried to stop by the host stand on our way out to let them know what had happened, but there wasn't a host/hostess anywhere to be seen. Two servers walked by our table without ever acknowledging our existence in this 25 minute time span to either collect their closed out check from a departed table or serve other tables. I'm so disappointed that I have to write this review, because I had heard good things about this place from others. There's simply no excuse for poor service, or in this case "no" service on a slow Saturday afternoon. We will not be returning to Hungry's and will be directing our friends and family to take their business to other restaurants in the area that provide amazing service. read more

I came here for on a weekday for lunch with some colleagues. I ordered the grilled chicken on ciabatta and substituted the hand cut fries for a bowl of tomato and basil soup. While the service from Kellyn and the overall atmosphere of the establishment was excellent, the sandwich left me unsatisfied. I have experienced Hungry's for brunch, for lunch, for dinner, and catered to my office. Each time they nail it, so five stars for me was an easy choice. I like their varied menu; there is truly something for everyone here. My favorite lunch and dinner entree is the sizzling gyros, sort of like a Mediterranean fajita, but wow, what flavor! We visited for brunch on New Years Day. The pic of my Migas speaks for itself, and they served up some of the best coffee I've had in a restaurant in a good long time. Last, but equally important, they offer a list of very good wines at a quite reasonable price point. Attached to Hungry's is their Next Door bar. I haven't wandered in yet, but plan to do so sometime soon. It is always full of patrons, which is a good sign, and I'm told they show Houston sports and beyond. Something to bear in mind... The Energy Corridor is fortunate to have Hungry's. If you haven't checked them out, I highly recommend you give them a shot. read more

Don't hesitate...GET THE HONEY GINGER GLAZED SALMON!! It comes out on a sizzling platter with lentil rice underneath and veggies. I love anything that comes out on a sizzling platter because I know that my food will be piping hot! Well it stayed hot for a long time, but the salmon looked so delicious I had to sneak in a bite and burned my tongue, but it was worth it. It is absolutely flavorful and MOIST. Very rarely can I say that about a salmon dish, but the salmon was practically glistening and screaming "Eat me now!". I loved that the rice was on the platter because it slightly burned a layer of the rice making it crunchy and added some texture. The veggies were also delicious and slightly burned (which I loved) from sitting on the platter. The prices are moderate I would say..it's about $18 for the salmon dish which might seem a little pricey, but the portion is pretty big. It seemed pretty packed during lunch time, so if you come for lunch, try coming early or after the lunch rush. They have a dine-in option or you can walk up to order and take your food to go. Service was excellent! I believe they offer catering services and can host events for big parties. They offer complimentary valet parking, so that works well for those who are hungry and don't have the energy or patience to find parking! read more

We both had brunch: smoked salmon with avocado on toast, and croissant egg sandwich. The side on both was herb roasted potatoes which on both dishes were undercooked. Salmon is now of low quality, and toast was soggy. The croissant was also soggy, the egg omelette lacked flavor and overall was poor. Not recommended now. read more

Waitress had a very hard time remembering simple drink orders or sweeteners for tea - 5 minutes later & 2 requests, I finally grabbed some off another table. Hungry's has an all new location on Memorial but the food is just as good as it was down the road a bit. I've only ever been here for lunch and I always find the food light and refreshing. My favorite is the Chicken and Avocado Pita with black bean orzo pasta salad. And you can order your sandwich 'Hungry's Way' for a small price and add a Greek Salad or Cup of Soup. I've also tried some of their wraps - I highly recommend the Pueblo Chicken Wrap with grilled chicken, black beans, lettuce and chipotle chili dressing. And if you're looking for something with a little more flair, try the Mediterranean wrap with seasoned lamb and beef. Hungry's has a great mix of flavors - whether you're looking for Southwestern, Mediterranean, Italian or some traditional American foods, this is a great place to please your palate. read more

I gave Hungry's three stars because the food was good, but nothing unique or exceptional. I do, however, recommend the Croissant French toast. The service was a bit poor. We had a late lunch (after 1pm) and the crowd had died down. I think the server got busy either doing his closing side duties and just wasn't on his toes because he didnt have many tables to tend to. I'm so sad I have to leave a bad review. First time here and I unfortunately had a bad experience here from the moment we were parking to the moment we left. Horrible customer service and bad management. I didn't feel welcomed or well taken care of! I so badly wanted to like this place since it's close to my house and the outdoor patio looked inviting. When I first arrived parking was really tight and somebody parked over the line so my car would not fit in the only spot left. I went to the valet and when I told the guy I wanted to park myself he seemed annoyed and did not care to tell me where I could park myself. When we arrived inside we had reservations, we were sat upstairs in a nice outdoor area but the fan was blowing on me out on the patio. There were no other available spots and I was freezing the entire time. I had recently had surgery and cannot sit where the fan is blowing directly on me. The waiter was kind of rude about it and just said this is the only table we have take it or leave it. I felt obligated to stay at that table since the party I was with was starving. Our food came out cold and late, the waiter was not really great about explaining where we could get water and we barely saw him. Maybe it was just a bad waiter but it was disappointing for sure! It's a cute neighborhood spot. I would say this. Clean your air vents, floors and fix the cushions in your booths. The unkept and dirty front of house makes me very cautious of the cleanliness of their back of house. We had the kale salad on their everyday menu and it was fresh but someone needs to taste their food before serving your customers. The dressing was so acidic and vinegar overpowered your dish which negated any other flavor in the salad. Also it was so overly dressed that there was a pool of the liquid in the bottom of my salad. Once my food arrived I realized the side of eggs were unnecessary because there is a lot of egg under the croissant French toast. The croissant French toast is topped with bananas, strawberries, powdered sugar, and syrup, which I initially though would be way too much, but it was actually perfect! The crispy chicken was moist and the Anaheim cream sauce that topped it was so rich & flavorful! Only complaint we had were the roasted potatoes were super bland. I was in the area after having taken my bf to a nearby urgent care. The appt took longer than we thought and we missed brunch at most places as it's usually over at 2. I did a quick search and decided to try this place instead of my 'go to' place, Cheesecake Factory because they offer brunch til 3. I ordered the Crab Cake Eggs Benedict because it was a 'Hungry's favorite' and was sorely disappointed. First of all, the eggs weren't truly poached. Real poached eggs have a awkward roundish shape to them with a runny middle. These were flattened, similar to what you get inside an egg mcmuffin. It appears they're cooked on the grill. The middle was mostly cooked through. What's worse is that the crab cake seemed like the frozen kind. It definitely didn't taste fresh. It had the seafood-y taste and smell. They were served on top of challah bread instead of English muffins so it was a too much bread and hard to cut and eat without it falling apart. It came with a side of roasted potatoes and fruit with were just ok. But then again, it's hard to mess those up. I also ordered a side of jalapeño sausage. Although there were grill marks, the sausage was cold and should have been cooked longer. I wouldn't recommend this as a side. I tasted a piece and there was nothing special about it. The jalapeño flavor wasn't outstanding at all. My bf played it safe and ordered a Belgian waffle and a side of bacon. He was disappointed that it wasn't fluffy as advertised and was also on the cold side, but he was hungry so he didn't bother to send it back. We both agreed that the mimosas were weak and we were better off just getting plain orange juice instead of paying 12$ for mostly juice mimosas. For the price, you're better off going elsewhere. Food was subpar and prices are definitely inflated. I regret not going to the Cheesecake Factory instead. We left feeling very dissatisfied and ripped off. 2 stars only because they do offer brunch til 3, otherwise it'd be 1 star. read more

Our dinner plans fell through one evening and I found myself here with three friends checking out their Houston Restaurant Weeks Menu on the fly. I'd only heard about this place, and most of what I'd heard was regarding it's brunch menu, but it seemed like it was worth checking out. Right off the bat, you run into a bit of a problem, as there are only six parking spaces out front, and the rest is blocked off for use by a valet. We got lucky and took the two empty spots up front, negating an issue that may have taken us to another venue. Service was mediocre and inattentive for a multi-course meal. We barely saw our server four times, which was odd considering he'd have to come out a minimum of six times to take orders, deliver all the courses, and collect the check. They were busy though, and they did have a couple of runners helping out. Three of us started out with the 4 oz crab cake with mac & cheese, and we were not disappointed. The crab cake was a sizeable disk (wider than a hockey puck) served in a small queso skillet with orzo, jalapenos, and cheese. It was a solid start to the meal, and was surprisingly filling for an appetizer. I wasn't too impressed with their use of orzo for the macaroni, but on the whole this was a star dish. The last in our party went with the tropical salad, which had mixed greens topped with mango and jicama. She seemed to enjoy the healthier fare, but not anywhere near as much as we loved ours. Our second course was more varied. Two in our group went with the salmon filet, one with the pesto pasta, and I went with the beef and chicken kabobs. The recurring problem we encountered with the entrees was a disappointing lack of flavor. Three of us just weren't satisfied, and I ended up dousing my dish in salt and pepper just so I could taste what I was eating. This was easily the most disappointing course of the night. I think only Dave, who ordered the pesto pasta, really enjoyed what he got. For the third course, my three compatriots went with bread pudding while I went with the chocolate lava cake. My dessert saved my experience on the whole, as it was a decadent dessert and the perfect size to cap off a three course meal. My colleagues had mixed reviews about the bread pudding, which apparently had a soggy croissant texture to it. Two of them finished their desserts without incident, but noted they'd had better bread pudding elsewhere. The third ate a few bites, finished the ice cream, and took it to go. I'm not sure if she was full or just didn't like it, but she didn't seem pleased with it. On the whole, Hungry's really seems like a hit or miss place. If you order a hit, it will be a great dish, but if you order a miss, it will be a big miss. Check reviews before you go so you don't make the same missteps we did. read more
