Tasty Munch is a simple diner with excellent food with a cozy atmosphere. The parking lot offers plenty of spaces near the restaurant although it is shared by other businesses. The food portions will challenge the biggest appetite and the taste will make you try to cram in every bite on your plate. Being greedy, I ordered a side pancake with my Classic Breakfast of eggs, sausage, seasoned potatoes and toast. The pancake was very light and fluffy certainly a 5. The seasoned potatoes were nice and crispy perfectly seasoned earning a 5 from me. My eggs (3.5) were cooked a little hard for my taste but good. The sausage (4) was a very hearty two patties. Our server was very friendly and patient while we navigated the very large menu. She offered suggestions that help make the decision process simpler. I hope to find myself in the area again looking for a great breakfast spot.

Tasty Munch is a cozy and intimate diner. The decor is on point. The staff were warm and friendly. The menu had the typical breakfast food, but their pancakes were different from others. I had the veggie skillet topped with poached eggs, and cookies and cream pancakes. One of my poached eggs was overcooked, while the other was perfect with runny yolk. The skillet was well seasoned. The pancakes were ok. Plenty of free parking spots available.

What a nice surprise! Just happened on this place on the way running some errands with my son and decided to give it a try for breakfast. Minimum wait time and a very comfortable seating area highlighted by a very well-made breakfast diner food! Decent price prices for the serving size that you get. Give this place a try!

The food was fantastic! It's a family own business and the portion that they serve you are generous. I had the waffle combo which had scrambled eggs and I ordered the sausage links and it was all cooked perfectly. Eggs were fluffy. Waffle had a nice crunch to it yet was not hard. In the sausage links or cooked perfectly and they were flavorful. Service was very good And the layout of the place has a very open field to it and you could see the cooks in the kitchen and everything was served to order. I'm most definitely be back.

Tried them out bc we saw them on YELP. Seated quickly. Food was hot & fresh, LOVED their seasoned potatoes. We ordered two classic breakfasts and I subbed the toast for chocochip pancakes. They were light, fluffy and so good. I ate ALL my food. It's not fancy but it's good. It's like I want to give 4 stars for the food bc it wasn't amazing BUT the service was fantastic so they balance each other. Let's just say, if you want good breakfast food that doesn't break the bank? This is your place.

I was bummed to see Avalon shutter, but shortly after Tasty Munch opened up in the old space, so we thought to give it a try. Tasty Munch presents itself as a similar greasy spoon diner. The interior is still a work in progress. It looks like Avalon closed, pulled all their stuff off the wall, and then Tasty Munch moved in and opened up for business. Hopefully they put some art on the walls and start to make the space their own. The menu offers breakfast, salads, skillets, hot sandwiches, and cold sandwiches. It's pretty much what you'd expect for a diner. Everything we ordered seemed fine enough, but there are some weird things here and there as they try and get the restaurant up and running. Thinking of examples, almost all breakfast plates come standard with a side of potatoes. The Biscuits and Gravy plate comes with biscuits & Gravy, 2 eggs, and a side of potatoes. Not hash browns, not a baked potato, just potatoes. Also, they don't offer grits, which is usually a common staple for Southern diner breakfasts. So yeah it's little stuff like that they're still figuring out. Service was friendly and clearly a member of the new ownership family. They really want to get your order right, and asked multiple times for honest feedback which I really appreciate. They're trying. Overall, Tasty Munch is just getting their feet under them after opening, and if you're patient and open with communication, I think they'll eventually fill in the gaps. For now, if you're looking for a basic breakfast or lunch meal, they should get you there. Will update my review further on down the road.

This place never disappoints! I love the sorta old school ambience, and god those 80s throwbacks songs get me every time! Oh yeah and the food is good too, I've been here probably 3 times and the food was consistently good, and the service is amazing!

Between the group we ordered two HOT Chicken Thunder Fries, the HOT MESS fries, three orders of the jumbo chicken tenders and waffles (two hot honey, one plain), a full order of mac and cheese, and the Cheeseburger Fryders. It was a lot of food and somehow it was all hot, fresh, and honestly really good. I love a sweet and savory combo when I'm expecting it, and this place definitely delivers. The waffles reminded me a lot of classic Waffle House waffles and the tenders were huge and actually seasoned well. The loaded fries were seriously loaded too. Lots of sauce, lots of meat, and we definitely didn't feel cheated. We were stuffed and still had leftovers. The only thing I personally wasn't crazy about were the Fryders. I think mini waffles as buns would've been better, but they weren't bad and my friend scarfed them down. Service was quick once we ordered and the staff was super chill. They let us sit there gossiping and picking at food for almost three hours without making us feel rushed, which I really appreciated. A couple small complaints though. Ordering is only through the iPads so you don't really get to ask questions, and the tables could definitely be wiped down a bit more often. Also the AC could be turned down a little... it was pretty cold in there. That said, the prices are actually pretty reasonable for The Heights. I spent a little over $50 myself and didn't feel scammed one bit considering how much food we ordered. Funny enough we originally tried to go to their Alabama location on Sunday but the line was out the door and parking was a nightmare. My friend literally drove off and told us to cancel. We ended up driving about 26 minutes to this location instead and honestly I'm glad we did. Great food, quick turnaround, and a fun spot to hang out for a while. We'll definitely be back.

There is a matcha restaurant right next door (called "Isa"), make sure you aren't standing in line for that one, make sure you go inside the actual restaurant (unlike us). They have a kiosk that you can order from and have a pretty extensive menu, so many flavors, sauces, and customization add-ons. I went with the classic Buttermilk Fried Chicken & Waffle Sandwich Deluxe (add-on) + HOT Honey substitution (add-on), side of regular fries, side of White Cheddar Mac & Cheese. We didn't go during a busy moment so it took only about 10 minutes for them to make our order. Their sandwiches are to DIE for, I would recommend you ask for your sandwich to be cut in half. The chicken was fresh, sauce was sweet and flavorful, they put the right amount of sauce along with tomatoes, lettuce and other add-ons. My rating of the sandwich is 9.4/10, it is literally the perfect sandwich if the sandwich wasn't disintegrating on me, but I think that is a good thing, wouldn't want a crunchy waffle sandwich. The mac & cheese was also very good, would give a 8.1/10, if they crusted their mac & cheese, it would be 10 times better. Would also recommend a bit of a kick, but it complemented the meal pretty well. All in all, this was a great place to stop by for lunch, they had a patio that we sat outside and ate at on a beautiful day. The front cashier was very helpful, walking us through the entire menu and giving us his best recommendations, definitely bettered our experience. For the quality of the meal, the pricing is also very reasonable as well. I would recommend if you are around the area, to stop by and enjoy a meal at this establishment. They have another location as well, which I didn't know (hopefully quality is consistent across the board because quality was great during this visit.

When we were finished with order a young guy came out and asked if we had any questions. We said no, but a lady came up and asked for whipped cream. This was the beginning of a marathon session that I can only liken to a Saturday Night Live skit. The young guy explained you had to order it with your meal, the gues explained she didn't see it on the screen, .. it went ON & On. .. finally the woman said could you get it for me??? He. .. pretty much acts like "no", he could not. Telling her she had to order on screen. She had to pay for it. The seriously patient customer is going along with all of this. .. she was being SO patient! At one point the young man even starts to tell her that he doesn't think it s whipped cream. .. I m thinking surely there is a camera somewhere hidden. .. This truly has to be a joke?!! At this point, I m frustrated that I wasn't filming this UNBELIEVABLE scene. I had to quit listening. .. I did not time this interaction, but it definitely spanned several minutes! Eventually I saw the kid bring her the tiniest of tiny portion cups ( no lid) that I can only assume was whipped cream or whatever concoction the employee thought it to be. .. I m still in shock to have witnessed this absurd scene. After we sat for awhile a young female employee came out . .. a forefinger and middle finger each inside holding 2 cups in her fingers. She looks at our receipt and says did you have 1 or 2 drinks? My husband says 1, but I wanted water. She releases her finger from one cup and turns with one cup back to her spot behind the scenes, making no reply to my husband. I m wondering if she was on the phone with an earpiece? She spoke loudly in a language I did not understand for the majority of our visit. .. Eventually, my husband mentioned maybe music would be nice? Help muffle her loud constant chatter? At one point she did come out sweeping the floor for a few minutes, but the entire time we were there, I did not see anyone while tables or clean up at drink/condiment station that was messy and sticky. Amazingly, enough We LOVED THE CHICKEN WAFFLE SANDWICH! but this is a poorly run restaurant, that needs a staffing fix. .. I m truly guessing family run business. I m hoping for whoever owns this, that they catch on now & fix things before it s too late. With frustrating service, and my sanitation concerns. .. I will try maybe once more because it truly was good food. But if it isn't any better I will not return again & I don't think I m alone.

Despite its location, it's surprisingly a quiet place - just some pretty light foot traffic in the morning I came. The waffle dish of choice today was "The Rancher" - a play on Chicken and Waffles as a sandwich, featuring syrup, powdered sugar, and ranch on the side. It was a truly creative choice, and it had many highs to it. The chicken was fried well, and the waffles were quite fluffy. However, I wasn't the biggest fan of the ranch and syrup together - maybe it's just personal taste though. The sandwich was also a bit small for the $14 price point - I left definitely wanting some more food in the belly. Overall, not a bad place.
