I really don't like giving bad reviews, especially for new businesses. That said, I will try it again simply because it wasn't over the top horrible... just too many things on the con-side to get a decent rating at this point. There's so many things that go into an enjoyable meal though, so here goes: Service: I noticed when I walked in there was only one server. She was so quiet that I didn't realize she was trying to seat me. I was waiting for her to finish something-I thought- until I realized her timid stare and her hand below her waist trying to direct me to a table. Poor thing. She took my order smoothly, repeating it back- that's a good thing! I love when servers do that! I didn't get my soup until after my chicken pad Thai came out...and I had to request it. I also got fried spring rolls which were delicious. Those did come out as an appetizer. I didn't like that no side salad came with my lunch. And there was no side salad option on the menu, only a full dinner salad. The food: my chicken pad Thai tasted burnt! I'm usually very forgiving with all other things pertaining to eating out. But burnt taste....I just can't. Considering how hungry I was I just asked for extra lime and some peanut dipping sauce and hid the burnt flavor. Then I waited and waited for my bill. I was charged for dinner instead of lunch....all these little things that add up result in a frustrating experience. Luckily I am not an employee-on-lunch-break-in-a-hurry person so I didn't really care about the time spent. I really hope they improve on these areas of opportunity. I will try them again simply because I'm here every week for another neighboring business. read more

Best spring rolls I've had in Clear Lake area. Very fresh. My dish, Pad-cha was excellent. Spice level 5 was spot on and flavors were great. Seafood in the dish was cooked perfectly. My wife's dish, Pad Paak w/ chicken stir fry, was good, not great. Could have had more flavor, but was cooked perfectly, although maybe a little heavy on the sauce, which on the thin side. Service was good and waitress nice, but clueless about the menu or food we were ordering. Too simple to have your new waitress try at least 1/2 of what's on the menu. Very nice selection on the menu. I hope they figure out that they've got a gold mine if they up their service a bit, focus on serving great food and figure out how to deliver. We'd order from there 2x week if they delivered! You couldn't ask for friendlier service. I've spent some time in Thailand and the soups are authentic and delicious. If you order one of the fruit flavored teas, be prepared to get a to go cup because they give you a huge glass and it's fabulous. I'll definitely be back. read more

I drove by this place all the time but never got a chance to try it so my friend and I decided to come for dinner tonight. The food was excellent, the service was great and I thought the price was just right. I really enjoyed my Pad Thai, lots of flavor and just the right amount of salty and sweetness. My friend ordered an eggplants stir fried with tofu. Personally eggplants are not my favorite, but the dish was very tasty as well. Our first visit. The food was excellent. All fresh ingredients. My only comment, not a complaint is their spicyness choices are on a 10 point scale. I like a bit of spice, but my tom yum soup was surprisingly spicy at a 6. Edible, but more than I expected. We were quite impressed with the food the only negative was we had trouble with the language barrier with the waitress. 12/31 update added a star We tried the Hunsa again and the results were much improved. As an appetizer we ordered chicken satay it was good. I've only previously had it at parties so it was never fresh. This was and it was good. Since it was cold we ordered the Tom kha (lime and coconut milk chicken soup), and it was a highlight. Their preparation had just the amount of sourness we like... usually we need to ask for lime wedges... this was perfect. For main courses my wife ordered the papaya salad again with a spice of 4/10 and like our first experience, it was excellent. I tried the Panang curry at a spice of 7/10. I found it to not be hot at all, and a bit of an unusual taste in the Panang... it was good, but not to my preference. In all fairness, they've been open a week, and we will be coming back. Credit card machine is still out... and we don't carry much cash... so we were a little limited on what we could order. Once we calibrate the spice level, this will become one of our favorites. Original review: My wife and I arrived at about 7 pm on a Friday. The restaurant was about 75% full and we were immediately seated. We were pleasantly surprised at the speed and quality of service. Usually new restaurants are slow, but they did a good job. We ordered fresh spring rolls as an appetizer. While we were told there were 4 rolls, it's actually two cut in half. The rolls were not tightly wrapped and the rice paper had too much water, so they kind of fell apart while eating . Additionally they were heavy on lettuce and light on bean sprouts... noodles and other typical spring roll fillings. Overall... and I admit we are picky... they need some work. My wife orderredpapaya salad with a heat level of 5 on a scale of 10. In short, it was excellent. Crisp, sour and perfect heat level. My wife loves papaya salad, and this is the first one in the Clear Lake region she liked (including the previous reviews unnamed Seabrook spot). I ordered chicken pad Thai. It was bad at first. Very little spice.. a bit of a burnt taste. After asking for several more limes, some tamarind sauce and Thai peppers... it was better but still lacking. I tried my husband's red curry which was supposed to be extra spicy but could have used some extra kick. Had they listened to our request, they would have received 5 stars. Very good local Thai restaurant. I always get the drunken noodles spicy #5 because I love spicy foods. Their spicy meter is from 1-10 with one being the least spicy and 10 being the highest. Wow! Been looking for a Thai restaurant that serves authentic Thai food and so far this one met all the criteria i have been looking for. First of all, they have a spacious place. It seems that even if it gets full of customers, it still would not be crowded as the tables and chairs are spaced well from each other. Second and the most important of all is the food! It was good! I ordered drunken noodles for lunch and it was the worst drunken noodles I've ever eaten. The temperature of the food was not hot and fresh. The noodles itself was tiny bits of.l noodles. There were huge tomato wedges. There must have been like 4 pieces of meats too. The mushrooms were cut thick and were undercooked.
