Red curry with vegetables and a side of plain noodles. I asked for no onion bc I'm pregnant and cant handle onions rn and they accommodated me, this is exactly what I needed!! I will definitely come back once I'm feeling better and try more

The atmosphere of this place is so quiet and quaint. The service is amazing. All the food that I've ate here so far has been extremely tasty and perfectly spicy. The Tom Yum soup was amazing along with the noodles I had. Would definitely eat here again.

A great find!! A group of us were traveling and let Yelp lead us to a fantastic dinner spot. We were greeted and seated promptly. We tried a variety of curry dishes, as well as fried rice, and each of us was pleased with our selection. The serving sizes were quite large, so there was plenty to eat there and some to take home. I recommend trying the peanut curry-my favorite dish of the night.

Great food and vibe! Service was super friendly. Highly recommend the peanut curry, and their rice options. If you are vegan, order with no fish, oyster sauce, and egg and you should be good to go! Their tofu appetizer is great as well. Sizable portions and delicious food!

My favorite Thai place to eat I love the pad tai combination. It's very tasteful. A great proportion that can feed up to two people. I've never had a long wait. The worker is very sweet and helpful. I always get a level 5 spice and it's very spicy which I love. This place is a hidden gem. I try to recommend this restaurant to everyone I know Just so they can taste such great food. I've tried Thai tea and I must say I'm addicted. Overall a great restaurant.

Quality, taste and price at this location missed the mark. I've been told the Clear Lake location is much better.

Food: 3.5/5 Service: 5/5…read moreAmbiance: 5/5 Overall: 3.7/5 My most recent visit of Nam Thai was a rare miss for the restaurant. I've gone about five times now and this was by far my least favorite experience (I still liked it, but I was a little disappointed), which was unfortunate since this was my parent's first experience here. My only issues were the food, so here's my opinion on each one we ordered: 1. Thai Tea - 4.8/5 - Definitely one of the best Thai Teas at a restaurant. Though I could still use more of the Thai Tea base flavor rather than milk, everyone at my table still enjoyed this drink. 2. Red Curry - 4.5/5 - Quite nice and had very good flavor. I don't love the addition of bell peppers in here, but that's a personal preference. 3. Pad See Ew - 3/5 - Kind of basic. Nothing made it stand out and noodles this kind of stuck together and became mushy. 4. Pad Thai - 3/5 - I've gotten this twice before, and for some reason it just tasted completely different and nothing like what Pad Thai should actually taste like. Not bad, but just not what you want when eating a Pad Thai. Noodles were also pretty mushy. 5. Steamed Fillet Snapper - 4/5 - Fairly clean and nice tasting, but just a little too plain for my taste. Still, a great option if you want something lighter for your meal. 6. Rib Eye Pepper Steak Thai Style - 4/5 - I really liked the sauce for this one and the beef was cooked very well, but the garlic they chose to put on top was extremely bitter and ruined my thoughts on the dish. I love this place, but this experience was the first time I've ever questioned going back here again. I hope this time was just a fluke.

Small update on individual dishes during my last visit:…read more4.5/5 Pad Thai - A little dry this time around, could use more sauce but the taste was still overall good. Also wished that the peanuts were on the side rather than on the dish by default, so I'll keep that in mind. 5/5 Kao Pad - Spice level 1.5 seems wimpy, but it is perfect that way. SO extremely flavorful and the steak is so nicely cooked. Also love the tomatoes. 5/5 Ahi Tuna - I legit could go here and only get this. Everything about it is so perfect (other than the wasabi, because who invited wasabi to this perfect dish?) 4.5/5 Panang Curry - Very enjoyable, though I do wish there was more protein to the dish. 3/5 Asparagus and Crab - Kind of a disappointment. I don't think the two complement each other in any meaningful way. 3/5 Chilean Sea Bass - Chilean Sea Bass is so incredibly overrated. For the price and what we got, it simply left us wanting more of something else (I forgot what the dish is called... whoops, there is a picture) 4.5/5 Raad Prick - Plenty flavorful, though I do feel that there should be more to this dish like vegetables, but it does allow the fish to stand out.

Merlion is still a solid 5 star in my books. Merlion was super busy yet the service was surprisingly attentive from the entire staff despite having to park several blocks over due to the crowd! I actually came back to update this review to give a shout out to our waiter Bryan. He's been our waiter the last 5 or so visits regardless of when we come or what part of the restaurant we sit in, and he somehow manages to elevate the already fantastic experience we have. He's insightful on the menu without being pushy, remembers our unique requests, checks in on us without being too much, and strikes a great balance on engagement without intruding. I haven't been writing as many reviews as of late but Bryan's service had me dusting off the old digital keyboard. All that to say thanks Merlion, I'd say never change but over the years every change yall have made has been for the better!

The experience was --- interesting. As is common with tasting menu restaurants, there was a story to go with each dish presented. Also as common with this sort of thing, some dishes were better than others, and many were just okay. At $150 per person, it was on the expensive side, and I question whether it was worth that. Perhaps $100 would have been appropriate. A wine/cocktail option was offered for something like an additional $125, but everyone declined. We were filled to excess by the food, and found it difficult to imagine having space for drinks on top of that. An interesting experience, but we are unlikely to return at this price point. I think that I have decided that tasting menus just aren't my cup of tea, and I really prefer to go to a place where I can select exactly what I want.
