We ordered the French dip with potato salad and the Cuban sandwich with Caesar salad. The Cuban had great flavor and was plenty filling. I liked the salad although not really a Caesar to me but still good flavor. The French dip was great. We got it as is and it was so flavorful on its own but adding the au jus took it to the next level! We didn't really care for the potato salad but it's more on preference. It was more like a southern potato salad. We loved the bread it was with though. Had a crunch but didn't hurt the roof of your mouth. We will be back to try other things. read more

A friend who prides himself as a bread baker recommend this spot to me, as it is usually one of his special treats to take his kid to. I happened to be up in Atascadero with my daughter during their opening hours, fortunately, and stopped in. The last few times I'd tried to come here they weren't open, so I was excited. They seemed understaffed, with only 2 people I think, but quickly greeted us, took our order, and helped get our outdoor table ready. There was a bunch of road construction and my daughter wanted to watch the tractors and trucks. Nice little nook in the corner of the shopping center, decent seating inside and a handful outside. I ordered the cuban sandwich, I like them but so many around SLO county are just not good. Well, this came out on a beautiful bread roll and was packed full of the meats. The pickles and mustard were perfect, the ratios were great, it was a mouthful. The bread was baked excellent and really the stand out, as it should be at a bakery. That said, this is a sandwich I'd happily drive up 41 to get again. Can't wait to come back and try more sandwiches and hopefully come home with some fresh baked bread. read more

My favorite lunch spot great sandwiches, great salads. Service is fast considering the rushes they often get. I've had 2 negative experiences. Both when the baker (owner?) saw me, ignored me at the counter. I asked him for a to go box (literally right behind him, it would have taken 5 seconds to give it to me) and I was told "Stevie will be with you shortly". I love this place!!!! Their bread is the best in SLO County. I am a connoisseur of bread and this bread is so good, its soft and spongy texture and the hard crunchy crust is fantastic! We always come to Hush Harbor when we visit Paso Robles. This last trip we were celebrating my husband's birthday and we ordered sandwiches for our group to take a picnic lunch out to the coast to Harmony Cellars. Everyone in the group was thrilled with the presentation of each packed lunch and how delicious the sandwiches were. We all had either the Turkey Grinder on rustic Italian bread or the Italian Grinder on baguette. I gifted each couple a loaf of their sourdough to take home (most ate it on the drive back home-it smelled so good). This is an amazing, small bakery and restaurant. We were a very large group of friends that showed up for lunch. They were slightly overwhelmed by our group size, but the good came out in time and everything was unbelievably delicious!! The service was polite and friendly with numerous apologies for the delay (which was barely noticeable given our group size). Each and every item that people in our group ordered was flawless. Waking in, it's not that impressive. We saw empty cold-cases and a few diners. By the looks of things, they've had better days. We were greeted by a friendly guy, who was obviously doing the job of at least 2 people. He promptly took our order and we sat down. We figured we would be waiting for a while, but the food came out quickly; we were pleasantly surprised. It looked good, but I was worried it wasn't going to be enough food. I was wrong. Delicious, fresh ingredients, that did not disappoint. My wife said it was one of the best Cobb salads she's had, and I was definitely satisfied with my steak sandwich, hence the reason for the 5-stars. We have been long time customers of this establishment and will continue to be as we love the owners and the team that work there but this last visit we did takeout and couldn't help but notice the portions of sliced beef and turkey were much less than normal. The bread was delicious as always but the la k of meat on my San Francisco was apparent and definitely make a difference in the overall quality and taste of the sandwich. I love Hush-Harbor ever since they opened back in the early 2000's. Their French baguette is something I crave and even had at my wedding. My go to is their turkey grinder. Just a great combination of flavors then to pair it with the French baguette, it great. Well usually great. Today I ordered one to go and when I got back home I was surprised. The sandwich was half the size as it is typically and there was only a single slice of turkey. Don't get me wrong I get it. Covid hit the hard and I would be more that happy to pay more for their typical Turkey Grinder then pay the same amount in the past and get this sandwich. I still love and will support Hush Harbor. They are and hopefully will always be a staple here in our town. I just hope this isn't their solution to the pandemic hit, subpar sandwiches. read more

This bakery and cafe offers daily made artisan breads, pastries, scones, and desserts (cookies, tarts, & cakes). They also offer sandwiches and salads. For the small ones, there is a Kids Menu. Everything is made with fresh ingredients. For meal service, there is indoor and outdoor seating. Lunch is offered daily, plus breakfast until 10:00 am on Saturday. The bakery is closed on Sunday. One of their signature items is their delicious quiches, made with various combination of ingredients. The crusts are very flaky and one of the best we've had. The variety of quiches varies from day to day. The quiches are sold whole or by the slice. If you are interested in purchasing a whole quiche, they request 48 hours advance notice. For baked items to bring home, we recommend going early during the day, as they start to sell out in the the early afternoon. The bakery items earn five stars. The cafe service was not up-to-par. There must have been a hiccup in the kitchen. The steak sandwich was way over done; the Cuban sandwich only had a single slice of ham, pork & cheese each; both sandwiches had way too much mayo on them; the side salad was wilted. The other items are good here too but I always go back for the baguettes. The sandwiches were awesome. We got the two Italian, San Fran, and hush's steak (couldn't try). Bread is fresh. The French baguette was lovely. It had a crispy outer shell and chewy softness inside. The kids meal chicken was a salt bomb so we couldn't even eat it. We ordered 4 sandwiches and a kids meal and when we arrived at the beach to eat, we only had 3 sandwiches and the kids meal. Bummer. My husband and I came in to pick up some bread we ordered for a party and decided to stay for lunch. We both ordered the specials of the day and agreed to share. I had the salmon spinach salad and he got the BBQ bacon chicken panini. My salad was one on the best I have ever had! The salmon was cooked perfectly and all the flavors blended so well. The panini was not my favorite. The chicken was a bit dry and to be honest I am just not a fan of paninis.... needless to say I may not have split my salad completely with my husband . The young man waiting on us outside was very polite and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. The baked goods were too good to pass up so I purchased us a white choc. lemon zest and a blueberry scone for breakfast tomorrow. I highly recommend the veggie delight sandwich which comes with the standard fillings you'd expect (cheese, tomato, onion, lettuce etc) with the most amazing artichokes and a divine drizzle of olive oil. The (free) side of fruit salad was also the most delicious freshly cut fruit I'd had. For $9 this place was a steal, and I have easily had worse sandwiches for twice the price. We moved to Atascadero last year. A friend of us told us about Hush Harbor and we finally went today to pick up lunch for work meetings. It was amazing! It exceeded expectations. I had a tuna on their multi grain wheat. It was almost like a rye and delicious. My husband said the Turkey sandwich was beyond great. We will be going back for bread and all sorts of other goodies. I think we will make this our weekly lunch spot. We like to support local businesses no matter what and we are so glad we found this one to support. Everyone should go. It's never a good sign when the owner of the company makes some snarky remark when a legitimate question is asked. I recently moved to West Atascadero and visit the French bakery in Morro Bay twice a week for good pastries. I thought I would give this shop a try. The chocolate cookie was okay but I prefer mine to be moist, not dry. As a first time visitor I did not realize there was a $10 minimum in debit card purchases. As I went to the car to get cash, the owner made a snide remark about using a card to pay for a cookie. Not cool. I should have just left. This was his second remark. A few minutes earlier when I inquired if the cookie was made that day, another smart ass remark from the owner about being an artisan and "see the big ovens in the back." I guess he didn't realize that I regularly purchase baked goods from small shops and I used to manage a busy bakery. Even so, I always ask about freshness. As a small business owner, you need me. I can always drive 14 miles to Morro Bay and be greeted by people who appreciate my smile and business. read more

The man on the phone said thing are "very different now and he's not allowed to do a lot of stuff" he was very rude. I told him two days ago I went in and got a side of turkey no issues. Hush harbor is a delicious bakery run by a husband and wife that been around for years. I've been here several times and never have had a bad experience, they make every bread/pastry in house and they never disappoint. I love their ham and cheese croissant, and their grilled marinated chicken sandwich Is just so delicious ! The baguettes are easily the best I've ever had. The family who owns and runs it is very friendly. There seems to always be a line so be patient. It is worth the wait. All of the yummy treats behind the display are amazing and their bread is fresh and tasty. The Apple Almond Pastry is SO GOOD. I took it to go at half cold and warmed the other half up, and it was equally as delicious each way. I ordered a turkey sandwich and potato salad while I was there. It took a little longer than expected to get my food, but when I did, it made the wait worth it. Everything was prepared fresh and the ingredients were quality. We were lucky enough to get lunch at Hush Harbor last Saturday afternoon. They just re-opened after having water damage to their bakery. The food was so tasty. We had salads & sandwiches. The host was very attentive, he checked on us multiple times to be sure we we're enjoying our lunch. It was a wonderful spring day & several patrons we're enjoying their lunch outside. It seemed like the word was out that they were back in business as the line at the door continued all throughout our time there. Check them out. It's a wonderful bakery. read more
